Podcaster needs Help...
My Podcast "Dallas Cowboys Podcast" was submitted last week and was searchable within 24hrs and found in the directory within 48. I just added my new episode about 3 days ago and it wont play. I keep getting an error that says "Problem adding show...the file may be corrupt or its a file that Itunes cannot play. The new episode is in the same format as the first...mp3 and was submitted the same way. It plays fine on my rss server. I'm using Podomatic as my server and all I have to do is upload the new file to them and it shows up in Itunes right away. The new episode will show up in the music store and in my Itunes Podcast folder...it just wont play. I've contacted Podomatic and they say everything is perfect on their end. I've also submitted an email to Itunes support but have yet to hear from them. Any help you could give would be much appreciated.

Yeah, creating the feed for the first time can be a pain.
There's a good service that we used called AvMyPodcast.com. They do the feeds for us automatically. Check out their help pages - it explains the whole process. http://www.avmypodcast.com/help.asp

I just did my first vodcast--everything's fine, except...
when you click on the website link, it brings up the direct link to my xml file (which is in a folder on my server)
I just recoded the rss feed, but wanted to make sure it's ok before I upload it.
Should the <link> tag at the beginning of the file (right under title and description (NOT as part of the <item> description) have a link to my homepage? I originally put in a direct link to the xml file over there.
BTW, under the <item> tags, where I have description, I put a direct link to the xml file (rss feed), then the <enclosure> is the direct link to the actual encoded video.
WOuld appreciate it if anyone could let me know if this is correct.

If you see anything else that looks weird, please let me know. I didn't copy the xml code into an index page--just left it in the folder I created for rss. If I have include the xml code in the index page for my site, will it still call up the correct file(s) if the exclosures are direct links?
I didn't put in any GUID--what would the hand coding be to include the GUID tag with perma link=true? Also, I wasn't sure how to set my GUID id number. Where do I get that, or do I make it up? If I make it up, is there anything I should know re: setting up a correct line of 16 characters?

Need to convert music videos that are tagged as "Movies" and re-rag them as "Music Videos" to get them out of my movies library and into the Music Video folder. Likewise, I have some educational videos that belong in "Podcasts." Help?
Select/highlight the ones that you want to change in your iTunes library, do Get-Info (control-I) and change their Media Kind on their Options tab to 'Music Video' - and then similarly for the podcasts.

The only way I know to do it is after it has downloaded I can drag and drop from the download file into itunes. There must be a way to get it to download directly in a itunes folder labeled "Dr. Laura". Several of my other podcast I use Juicer to download and they work fine. Any help?

This issue is directed to those with plenty of podcasting experience. (Also, I have the iWeb version just previous to iWeb 08, but that forum has practically died and I really need help.)
I'm a total newbie when it comes to podcasting, although I've had my website for almost a year and feel comfortable with iWeb.
Here's the issue:
I created a podcast using GarageBand3 and under the "Share" menu, I "Sent to iWeb." I put the podcast on a "Blog" page (because it had both the "Subscribe" and "RSS" buttons, and someone told me the blog and podcast pages work the same way).
I published my iWeb to a folder, and uploaded it to godaddy.com using Fetch. My URL is www.andrewhollinger.com. The page is the "podcast" page. You may need to visit the site to see what I mean because this next part gets a little confusing -- at least to me.
Everything is on the website. And the podcast works just fine if I push play from the website. When I tried to test my feed with iTunes, however, I ran into all sorts of errors because iTunes does not recognize the URL as a podcast.
When I went back to my webpage, I pushed both the "Subscribe" and "RSS" buttons to see what would happen. The link says "This page does not exist" and says the URL is www.andrewhollinger.com/andrewhollinger.com/Podcast/rss.xml. It doubled the main URL.
I'm really hoping someone with more expertise can walk me through where I went wrong, and how to fix it so that my podcasts can be seen by iTunes so that I can submit it to the iTS.

I need help getting itunes on my new computer. old one crashed
My old computer crashed, I downloaded iTunes on my new computer and need help getting all of my stuff on it that I had. I did 'home share' to see if that worked, and it didnt.
Also, on my old computer, when I synced my iPad & my husbands iPod, it didnt sync any music or podcasts, no videos-and i went through each category seperately to sync it and it didnt work. So I can't sync my devices to the new iTunes bc not everything is on there that i have purchased.It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your comuter for just this occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything on the new computer.

Subscribing to your feed from the iTunes Store page work as such, but the episodes throw up an error message. The problem lies with your episode media files: you are trying to stream them. Pasting the URL into a browser produces a download (where it should play the file) of a small file which does not play and in fact is a text file containing (in the case of ep.2) this:

You must provide a direct link to the actual mp3 file. Streaming won't work. The test is that if you paste the URL of the media file (as given in the feed) into the address bar of a browser it should play the file. -

I'm encountering a lot of issues when it comes to my podcasts. I've been to the Apple store, Long and McQuade and Vistek for advice, yet it seems no one knows anything about recording audio (or in the case of the Apple Store, no one even bothers to ask me if I need help..). I would prefer finding a store around Toronto/GTA that specializes in professional audio recordings other than music. However, since thats probably impossible, maybe someone here can help me out.
I've recorded several podcasts. I'm using two different methods to record, and both produce inconstancies. For example, we recorded a podcast on my PowerMac G5, we plugged two USB microphones (Apex 181 and Audio Technica something), and recorded two separate tracks in to Soundtrack Pro 2. At the same time, we recorded the other panelists via skype using Audio Hijack. Every few minutes or so, one of the main USB tracks will 'pop' and lose sync.
At first I thought it might be due to my older computer, and the CPU not keeping up with the recording. We tried the same set up on my 2008 MacBook'Pro', this time only recording the two USB inputs, same issue, every few minutes one track would make a poping sound and we'd have to resync.
I would like to know how to solve this issue. I assume I need proper equipment. I would like to purchase a proper mixer and proper XLR microphones, but that would only solve local recording issues, and not skype recording.
If anyone has suggestions, IE equipment to purchase, or a place local to Mississauga that knows their shidamida, it would be greatly appreciated.

-OS X 10.5.8are you using wall charger or USB cable? If using USB cable make sure it is DIRECTLY plugged into PC and on 1 of the back ports.

you get replacement batteries from your carrier, not RIM(blackberry) themselves. To contact RIm directly is paid support. To get free support from RIM, you have to go through your carrier first, if they are unable to resolve it, and deem that you need to speak with RIM, they will transfer you to them... replacement battery would not qualify.
Your best bet is to walk into your carrier store, get the to test your battery in another device, and test another battery in your device. -
Hi guys, I recently purchased a Kin TWOM because i wanted a decent phone without having to pay for data plan. I have some questions that I need help answering/confirming because I searched online and it'll be nice to have all my answers here.
1. WIFI
Q: I understand that the kin two can go on wifi FOR FREE as long as you turn the 3G network off.
Would turing your phone to airplane mode be good enough to NOT use the 3G at all or do I need to go online and do a data block on the phone?
Would turning the data block off online, completely turn off the 3G network, so i guess incase of emergency, no use of 3G?
I can still receive text without 3G (text is not part of data- i think?)?
2. Games
Are there any games you can download from computer to the phone? I saw that someone posted mytouchgames.com as a site inwhich you can lay games on it or something. I want to play games and see if can imput by comp.
3. ZUNE
I never had a zune before and have no idea how it works. I believe this is free. I saw that all you need is to download a program and I can start putting my music from my computer to the phone and just play it like a mp3.
Can you use mp3 from the computer, put into zune and use it as a ringtone?
Ringtone on phonezoo..sending it to the phone would not cost anything? But i'm not sure where to save it to because i don't think i want it to be permenant. Can I send it to the zune program
Some people also mentioned sending by email..i don't really understand it. Are we sending it as an attachment? or a link??
4. Bluetooth
Can you transfer music/pictures/ect. from phone to phone via bluetooth? I would probably like to send pictures to my sister when I see her WITHOUT using text. If not, is the only way is to transfer pictures from phone to computer and post it online?
5. MISC
I heard that there was an issue regarding the phone being on silent and still ring, can someone clarify? like if its on vibrate, the alarm would still go off, but if people called, it'll be on vibrate?

However, it's very difficult to tell on the Kin whether you're using Wi-Fi or 3G, so I do recommend a data block. As you stated, you can also put the phone in airplane mode, but that does shut off the radio, so you will not receive any calls or texts when you do this.

Correct, you would have to go online to My Verizon or call customer service to enable data. If you think you'll occasionally use it while out, maybe you want the $10 data plan ... $1.99/MB adds up fast!

You can even receive MMS (pic and vid messages), but the customer service rep has to set this up correctly on your account. Be very careful that the rep doesn't remove the data block to allow MMS -- you will think you're using Wi-Fi and the charges will really add up.

3. ZUNE
I never had a zune before and have no idea how it works. I believe this is free. It's free to use (unless you decide to purchase the Zune Pass, which is a music subscription for $15/month, plus you can keep 10 songs every month for your own collection). When Zune installs, there's a setting that syncs all the music and pics already on your computer. So when I installed Zune, all my music from Windows Media Player was there. You simply drag and drop to put on your Kin. You can also subscribe to podcasts through Zune. Plus the Kin does have an FM radio, which sounds good and shows current songs playing if the info is available.
Can you use mp3 from the computer, put into zune and use it as a ringtone? I don't think this worked for Kin users.

I just need help. I have ordered a reviewer online that has audios and texts in a pdf file. I was told to download the latest adobe reader on my computer. I have done the same thing on my ipad mini. I am not so technical with regards to these things. Therefore I need help. I can access the audios on my computer but not on my ipad.
I want to listen to audios with scripts or texts on them so i can listen to them when i am on the go. I was also informed that these files should work in any device. How come the audios doesnt work on my ipad.
Please help me on what to do.
