Podcasts and Songs missing when Auto Sync'd
I have two HUGE problems...
When I auto sync. Itunes deletes EVERYTHING off of my ipod and starts anew. This happens even after a successful auto sync.... If it was 5 or 10GB not that big of a deal but I'm looking at 35GB.. Which is A REALLY REALLY LONG TIME TO SYNC even with Firewire...
Podcasts don't show up as podcasts.... They show up under the genre of podcast BUT not under the Podcast menu. There was mention that podcasts that are NOT from iTMS won't appear in this list. BUT they are subscribed that way...
Now I've reset, restored, reinstalled, EVERYTHING (outside of an OS restore)
Now the strange thing is that this problem does NOT exist when I manually manage the songs on my ipod...
This is my 3rd iPod 4G the others have all died (one within 2 weeks)... I'm getting into a Love HATE relationship with iTunes and the iPod.
Okay, that is the latest iOS. As far as shortcuts are concerned, they should be available. Go to Settings, General, Keyboard, Shortcuts. You should find the settings and area to enter new ones there. The area to set what numbers to receive calls from in DND mode are in Settings, Notifications, Do Not Disturb, and then then Allow Calls From.

Before this is suggested, auto-create is not an option.Hi there
Perhaps give this a try. From the Project Manager pod, right-click the Table of Contents area and choose "New Table of Contents". Give it a name and enable the "Copy existing Table of Contents" check box. Then click the Ellipsis icon on the far right side. See if you have a .HHC file in the folder. Odds are, you will. That will be the existing (missing) TOC.
Hopefully that will work. If so, repeat the process for the index.
I think when upgrading the project something goes wrong with naming.

I recently changed my email address and want to change my Apple ID account to match. I have created a new Apple ID to match the new account but now I can't sign into iCloud on our phones or computer with the old Apple ID. I can't make any changes on iCloud on our phones because it directs me to the old account, which I can't sign into. I also can't sign me in on my computer to make any changes. Help!!! Now I have two addresses and can't access the one that directly affects my devices.

If you have an Iphone, you should have intunes. When you get itunes you could sync things onto your device. When you are done syncing, go to photos in order to veiw it, and go to Ipod to see your videos.

I sync'd iPhone 5 two days ago w/o any issued or problems. Connected phone to iMac for a charge yesterday and iTunes stated an auto sync. iTunes popup box appeared stating phone could not be sync'd b/c I needed an additional 27GB of storage, apparently to load iTunes Library. I did not change or modify any settings. Has anyone experienced this or know how to solve this syncing issue.
Side note: iTunes does recognize that my phone is plugged in, charging. Thank you.One additional finding this morning ... iTunes can't handle my iPad being connected. Immediately upon recognizing the iPad, iTunes comes up with the same message as happens with the iPod indicating "iTunes has stopped working," forcing an immediate shut down of the program. Opposite the case with my iPod, iTunes at least recognizes my iPad.
No idea. This is madening. -
Why is Firefox intruding and sending updates when auto updates are turned off? This constant updating wreaks havoc with add-ons
Why is Firefox violating my computer?I left "automatic updates" for Firefox UNCHECKED and left download when updates are found UNCHECKED. " Ask me wha I want to do" is CHECKED.
In English, that means don't automatically update and if updates are found ASK.
It does NOT mean ignore all the instructions and download! -
I recently bought an album on iTunes. 10 of the songs came out corrupt and songs missing parts. What can I do?
Other people have been having similar problems with songs over the last few days, I assume that there has been (and possibly still is) a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting them from your iTunes library and redownl them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that album and use the 'Report a Problem' link. -

When I upgraded the software on my ipod touch4, many podcasts were deleted from itunes. Of course, when I synced the ipod, they were deleted from the ipod as well. Apparently the current version of itunes will not let me go back to these earlier episodes (just a few months), in a podcast that I have been subscribed to, and re-download them. Is there a way to do that? and, how can I prevent this from happening again?
Hey! I had the same problem you did just today when I was trying to get my second iPhone to sync. What you need to do with music or anything extra that you doing you have to creat a second playlist or picture or anything that you would like to use, so that you can add to the second device that you are going to be using. I am not sure if that will help but it helped me out a lot!! Good luck!

I have 2 computers, one in the US and one in Canada. My US computer has about 3000 songs from both iTunes and CDs which are synced on my phone. When I sync my iPhone in Canada only the iTunes music is synced to my Canadian computer. How do I get the balance of music synced from the phone?

Importing song ratings without auto-sync or 3rd party software
My iPod Classic contains all my Mac iTunes' library (approx 150GB), and they auto-sync, so ratings, play counts etc are sync'ed seamlessly.
I manage my iPod nano and iPhone manually since their respective capacities are too small for my library.
How do I import song ratings etc back into iTunes without 3rd party software or creating playlists (dedicated to the nano and the phone) and auto-syncing just those playlists?
Many thanks!Hey! By mistake I found the solution to my exact question i.e. how to have ratings etc synced automatically without the use of playlists or 3rd parties. (Meg's answer actually convinced me to use dedicated playlists, but then, after toying with the devices and iTunes I stumbled on the solution to my original dilemma, which I've seen discussed in many places but not yet answered)
So here it is:
when you connect the device (nano multi-touch or iphone 4, don't know about others) to iTunes, while having "Manually manage music" disabled (with "Enable disk use" enabled or disabled, it doesn't matter), go to Music tab, check "Sync Music", choose "Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres" and that's it. You don't check any actual playlists, artists etc below, you can drag from iTunes and drop your chosen music to the device, play it, rate it, connect to iTunes and sync and you'll see the rating and play counts updated. Simple as that.
Thank you Meg, your answer is actually the best, I guess, since having the dedicated playlists tends to keep things more in order, but - thank you Apple! - you don't always need to be perfectly organized in order to have an up-to-date rating.

Random photos missing when I sync iPhone to MacBook Pro
I have had this issue for at least the last few months: when I sync my iPhone 5 with my MacBook Pro in order to import all the photos I have recently taken on my phone into iPhoto, only a portion of the photos I have recently taken are available to import.
Right now I have 160 new photos on my camera roll. When I plugged it in 20 mins ago, iPhoto offers me to 'import 45 photos'. I unplugged it and plugged it in again. Now it's only asking if I want to import 21 photos. I've tried turning it off and on again.
All photos appear in my photo stream, but only a portion will import as a new event. It's very boring because I don't want to have to go through photo stream to find my photos, I'd much prefer them to come through as events that I can now sort.
I am using iPhoto version 9.6, and my iPhone 5 is on version 8.1.3
I cannot find a solution to this on the internet, I'm really hoping someone out there can help!The first test indicates that the original library is the culprit and needs to be repaired. Do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.
Redo the second test and see if you can upload all photos to a folder on then Desktop first. If that's successful you can import them into the library. iPhoto should detect any duplicates
and prevent their import. -
New Iphone 4 syncs everything BUT my music and audio books when I sync?

I bought a new iphone 4 to replace my 3gs. None of my music or audiobooks that show on itunes on my computer will sync with the new phone. I had them all on my old iphone. My new iphone is recognized when I sync. Ideas?As with others I have lost all my contacts since the recent update. I have tried to backup but it didn't work (much as I expected as the backup was done after the update). So I really don't know what to try next, if there is anythign to try next? I have checked iTunes and I have never had the sync Contacts box ticked and I have tried finding something on the computer itself, but this is where my technical skills fail me as I really don't know where to look or what to look for.
Have I lost all contacts and therefore need to input manually, or is there something left to try?

Music disappeared and ITunes freezes when re-syncing: Help!
Yesterday all my music, photos, and video vanished from my 60 gb iPod. Naturally I tried to re-sync, but ITunes freezes every time I plug it in and immediately unfreezes when I unplug. The error message says "The iPod cannot be synced. The required folder could not be found." I went into preferences and checked "prevent devices from syncing automatically," but the iPod still tries to sync when I plug it in and it is impossible for me to adjust any settings within ITunes.
I tried the check disk utility and my computer locks up. I also tried the manual reset, which seems to work, but I can't get the Disk Mode to work properly. When I looked in my iPod utilities, it said that iPod was almost full, yet I can't find any music or playlists despite being able to navigate the menus.
Since the iPod itself seems to be working, I'd hate to have to junk this because some settings can't be adjusted. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!Try putting the iPod into [Disk Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363] to stop it from continuously rebooting. Then again attempt to restore the iPod through iTunes. Otherwise it may be the signs of a failing hard drive.
I would maybe check up on taking advantage of the warranty you have on it.

took a back up in iTunes then restored factory settings and then restored back but photos and songs missing
How did the photos get onto the iPad ? If they were synced from a computer then they aren't included in the backup - the restore would look for them in the directory that they were synced from.
And for the songs (and the contents of the Videos app and any iTunes downloads) they are also not included in the backup, the restore would look to copy them back from your computer's iTunes library. Do you have them in your iTunes library, or can you copy them into your library (File > Add To Library) so that you can sync them back ?
