Podcasts appear in artists, albums and song menus

Hello,
I am using iTunes 7.1.0.59 on WinXP Pro. I purchased a 30GB video iPod (2nd generation of this model) a few days ago. The problem is that all the podcasts I have synced to my iPod appear in music menus such as artists, albums and songs. For example the songs list includes podcasts as well as all the songs. This is very annoying to have different podcasts appears in each of these menus. Surely this is not be design.
I have done Google searches and no one else seems to have this problem. I think it might be an iTunes 7 issue as I never recall seeing this problem with iTunes 6 on my partner's 1st generation 30GB video iPod.
I have not been able to find anything in the menu or online Apple .PDFs which explain this behaviour.
Can anyone help me to fix this problem?
Thanks to all.
2nd gen 30GB video iPod Windows XP Pro iTunes 7.1.0.59

Found a fix for this. Another forum user found it.
Click on your iPod on the left column in iTunes. Click the podcast tab (at the top of the main window) and change the sync option to "all podcasts". Re-sync your iPod and your podcasts should show up in the right place.
Hope this helps. So unintuitive it makes me mad, but hey.

I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync  music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them.  Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view.  I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes.  My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.
Thank you for actually making it to the end of this manuscript of annoyances.

Just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions.

  • Is the Purchased Album and Song Re-downloadable Without Further Charges?

    Hi,
Is the purchased album and song re-downloadable without further charges? I got an album via gift. Whenever I see the album in the iTunes Store, it still appears as 'Buy' instead of 'Purchased'. And if I delete the album, I will have to pay again to download it from the iTunes Store.
Is this supposed to be like that? Shouldn't the album become permanently free-of-charge since I had already paid for it?
    Thank you.

  • HT4915 When i did my itunes match, there were some duplicated albums and songs.  I have gone into my library and deleted the duplicates, but they still show up on my iphone as duplicates.  What can i do to get rid of them?

When I did my itunes match, there were some duplicated albums and songs in my library.  I have gone back into my library from my computer, and deleted the duplicates.  When I did so, itunes did not ask me if I wanted to delete them from the cloud.  They are still showing up on my iphone as duplicates in the cloud.  What can I do to get them from showing up in my iphone?

They are not on the iphone in the first place.  It is just a setting that allows you to see the songs that are available in icloud, but not on your iphone.  If you turn the setting to off, then you no longer see the songs that are in icloud, but NOT on your iphone.

  • I reinstalled Itunes on my computer and it did not put all of my albums and songs on my library

I reinstalled I Tunes and it only put 3 albums of my many albums and songs in my library, can someone help please?

Your media should normally be in <User's Music>\iTunes\iTunes Media\<Etc.> not <User's Music>\iTunes\Previous iTunes Libraries.
Was your library working properly on this computer before you reinstalled iTunes, or is there something you've left out of the picture?

The Get Info. fields show up gray if the files is locked and iTunes knows it can't edit the file. Make sure the files are not marked as read only and, if necessary grant both your account and system full access to all files and subfolders of your media folder.
You can set Part of a Compilation for multiple tracks from the Options tab of Get Info.

  • I need to know how many downloads individual albums and songs had off of iTunes for a project, how do I find these numbers?

I need to know how many downloads individual albums and songs had off of iTunes for a project, how do I find these numbers?

Ed...maybe a little less time gaming and a bit more time in English class? They got this thing called punctuation and sentences now. Last things first; there is no amount of money that can change your GPU so you can scratch that expense off the list. So you need a battery and a fan? Where do you live? USA? We can help you find a battery but where did you plan to have the new fan put in?

  • Albums and Songs seems disappear in iTunes Music folder  (8.0.1)

Before start a back up of my iTunes 8.0.1 I had curiosity to check the iTunes Library > iTunes Music
There I notice some Artist folder became empty: no album(s) and no song(s) anymore !?
I still can play them from the main iTunes window. But till when ?
Am afraid it could be an alert to some trouble.
    Any suggestion ?

Maybe I was not clear enough in my explanation with some trouble in my iTunes (8.0.2 now).
Sometime iTunes loose the link to a song file. A question mark appear next the song, iTunes ask to recreate the missing link.
Time to time, I take a look into Music / iTunes folder
Time to time, I notice, some Artist Folder became empty. Maybe the first step to a missing link or something worst ?...
But iTunes (the App) still showing and play the song (?!)
I (wrongly?) consider it as a trouble which make me loose for good part of my Library.
Dragging the empty Artist Folder from the iTunes Folder to the Desktop, make Album Folders and Song Files reappear in the previous empty Artist Folder !...
I do not consider that very normal or did I miss something ?

  • Duplicate music albums and song listing after updating to iOS 5

Anyone else seeing duplicate music albums in carousel mode?  After updating to iOS 5 i notice a few albums have duplicate albums or song listing.
I have 1 album thats duplicated 8 times in carousel mode and twice in album listing, none are excalty the same. Example 8 albums, each either holds all the songs or part of the album. Duplicate albums would 3-4 of the same songs, although there is only one file when viewing thru itunes.
    Any answers would help, thanks

Thanks but i just tired that ad it didnt work either. All my albums are in order with tracks, artist, disc and etc. Never had a problem with this when i was on iOS 4.
Additional Note: Videos no longer continue where i left off even though the option to do so has been selected.
Anyone experiencing lag on their Touch Gen4? Like shutter sound when you put the screen to sleep takes a second after the button is pressed which use to be instant.
Apple...got any take on these matters?

  • Album is in library but not listed in Albums and Songs - iTunes 11

I have added new album to iTunes 11. It has been copied to my Media folder and its playing all right. But I cant see it in my Albums, Artists and Songs sections. Its not there. I would like to see the artwork in my Albums.
When I try to search for it it finds it with no problem. What to do? Any ideas?
I believe that adding it again can help, but how do I remove it from my library when it is not present anywhere only in search results?

Have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base.
The only thing I'd add to that is to make sure all the songs you want transferred to your iPod have checkmarks next to their names in the iTunes Library.

  • I have a new MacBookAir with iTunes 11.3.  All my music was transferred from my old MacBookPro; but, only purchased music from Apple shows up in albums, and songs.  None of my other music appears, and no playlists have been displayed.

How to get non-purchased from Apple music and playlists to appear on my new MacBookAir with Mavericks, and iTunes 11.3, when all the prior music was transferred from MacBookPro.  I see the library.itl files, and have removed them and imported the Library.xml file; but, still do not have access to playlists or any music I have taken from my CD collection.  I see this as a common issue on the dozens of web searches.  Is there a fix for this new iTunes 11.3?

Nothing new; same thing i have been posting for years.  Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.  Without exact details I can't tell what you did wrong  but you probably didn't move the right files to the right place.  Unfortunately youd id not want to delete the .itl file.  The .xml has much of the same but your ratings, date added and playcounts are now gone.

  • Podcast appearing as an Album

How can I stop my podcasts from appearing in my iPod Music>Albums list?

Problem resolved.  Simply had to highlight each song, select "File", "Get Info", then add the album title in the "Album" field.  Re-sync'ed I-Pod, and all is as ti should be.

  • Albums and songs not organised.

I have noticed with iTunes for a good while now that my songs and albums are not organised in itunes; by that I mean some songs that belong to albums are listed separately and then missing under the album heading leading to incomplete albums. Its as if iTunes has taken my albums, given them a shake and scattered various songs across my library randomly.
Has anyone else experienced this, or have a reason / solution for it?

Generally setting a common Album title and Album Artist for each album will fix things.

  • Sort Music-- Artist-- Albums-- All Songs where all songs are alpha order

I have quite a lot of songs on my iPod classic. For example I have 253 Beatles songs alone. When I go to Music-->artist-->songs they are all organized by Album. When I'm driving or even just sitting still this method of organization is just extremely inconvenient. I feel like it can't be that difficult to make it sort "all songs" by alphabetical order. Let me know if it is and if I'm just missing it...

    The layout cannot be customised.
