Podcasts aren't working

i subscribed to a podcast and i went to put it on my ipod and did everything like i would except went into the podcast section and said to automatically update the podcasts....but when i went to my ipod after thinking they had been downloaded nothing was in the podcast section. my question:: how do i get podcasts on my iPod(nano)???

Let's see, I'm new here too, but I'll walk you through how I've managed to get podcasts onto my new Nano...
Once you're in iTunes, on the upper-left window, when I click on 'Podcasts', I expand the podcast that I've subscribed to (or downloaded) and make sure it is there. If it says 'get' next to the title, you still need to get it. But I'm assuming you've done that.
If it's still not working right, from the podcast screen, click on 'Options' (it's not under File, but the next listing over - I'm away from my desktop so I can't look it up) and click on the 'Podcast' tab. Double check that this is also set to download automatically.
If this still doesn't work, I'll try to reply again from my desktop, and I'll go through it step by step.

Why aren't my podcasts aren't working on my iPad2? It seems to be associated with the update, as they worked previously. All other files in iTunes seem to be fine, but the podcasts are completely unresponsive.

The great thing about podcasts is that they are free. Try deleting one and then go to the iTunes store and resubscribe to it. If that works, delete and resubscribe to all. Could work.

I tried this and still have the same problems. If I open Address book or the Mac App Store I get the library rebuild popup and a hang. I created a fresh user and then things are better apart from the printing issue. Its clearly some 3rd party software issue but the crash logs are meningless to me. I used the excellent Etre check app from http://www.etresoft.com/etrecheck so I have a list of what is being loaded and can compare clean and crashed user info but as I cant work out which of the startup items, launch agents, launch daemons etc that are causing the problem.
I have eliminated Dropbox, Mac Keeper and Witness, and it isnt related to my exterrnal LED cinema dispay or my external thunderbolt drives, or any USB devices if thats any help to anyone else. Info from Etrecheck follows -

TS3048 Bluetooth and USB ports aren't working can't connect mouse or keyboard.

Bluetooth and USB ports aren't working, so am unable to use Imac past turning it on. There's no way to connect mouse or keyboard, it started right after a software update for Maverick (OS X bash Update 1.0 – OS X Mavericks), bluetooth symbol not showing in the task bar at all.

The symptom you're describing can be frustrating to troubleshoot as our options are limited. I do suggest resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) if you have not already. This step can help you regain use of USB and Bluetooth.
Follow these steps to reset the SMC on your iMac:
Resetting the SMC for Mac Pro, Intel-based iMac, Intel-based Mac mini, or Intel-based Xserve
Shut down the computer. [by holding down the power button]
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.

You cannot merge Apple ID accounts, that has never been supported.
You can contact the Apple ID Security folks per the listing in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 and they can help reset security questions and get the account working.

USB Ports Aren't Working

I have a HP pavilion g series laptop. I'm not sure what it is or anything, that's all I know about it.
But anyway, my USB ports aren't working.
I tried plugging in my mouse and i tried plugging in my xbox 360 controller, the lights come on for a few seconds on both of them, but then they went off and my computer won't pick them up.
What do I do to fix it this problem?

Try to go into device manager and see if you have any yellow !s or red triangles near the usb ports. Remove all the usb ports and hubs and reboot the machine. The drivers should reload automatically. Do the hard reset by removing the battery, unplugging the power adaptor, holding in the power button for a full minute, putting the battery and power adaptor back in and try it again.

There is almost no chance it can be recovered, except at a cost far greater than a new keyboard. Once wet, spraying with a cleaner will not do any good and most likely will make the situation worse.
Best thing at this point is go to your Apple store, or the on-line store, and buy a new keyboard. Water damage is not covered by the warranty or AppleCare.

My sound effects aren't working, how do I get them to work again?

On my iPad my sounds effects aren't working and it's on loud. I've been into music but it won't let me change the volume. It's just dark grey and won't let me touch it. Also the volume control on the side when I put it onto loud the sound effect pops up in the grey box but doesn't let me change the volume there either... I've also been through the settings and cannot find anything or anywhere where it will let me change the volume manually or invade it had been turned off by accident. I can't listen to music or hear when it goes off!!!
PLEASE HELP!

Some Finder Sounds Aren't Working (Trash File and Move File)?

Last night I noticed that *some of the finder sounds* aren't working (trashing and moving a file/folder) on my mac mini. The rest of the finder sounds seem unaffected (emptying the trash, removing an icon from the dock). I tried some solutions online with limited success.
Odd things that are happening:
1) After a reboot, the first time I delete a file or move a folder, the *monitor resets itself*. Kinda like when you change the resolution. My TV loses the feed for a sec and quickly reestablishes it. After this happens, no finder sounds for moving and trashing
2) I heard some people were having this same problem because of coreaudiod.plist files (Library/Preferences/Audio. When I copy the com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist to the desktop these finder sounds return, but just for this file. See http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10465859
3) I noticed these problems after I started using the Kanex Mini DisplayPort Adapter To HDMI 1080p Video w/ Digital Audio. http://kanexlive.com/products/item.aspx?id=3495 But, I tried switching back to the old setup of a basic minidvd to hdmi and a rca y cable and it made no difference.
4) I also completely did a fresh install and everything worked fine until late in the process after I did a reboot (see point 1). Is it a third party software problem? I installed the HippoRemoteVNC that allows me to take control of the computer with the iphone. I also have installed Plex, Boxee, XBMC, Perian codecs, Hulu desktop, Quicktime 7, and Transmission.

Go to your /Applications/Utilities folder and run the Audio MIDI Setup application.
Confirm settings there match your expectations.

Earbuds aren't working again with phone

hello, once again my earbuds aren't working with my phone. this was happening last weekend. i tried various headphone with phone to no avail but they and the original iphone earbuds worked just fine with computer. monday i took to phone to apple store and they restored phone and buds worked fine. came home setup as new phone, put everything back on it and worked for a bit and once again not working. I'm wondering if they aren't working because of the latest software version (5.1.1) because they were working fine before then.
Anyone having a problem? I can't afford a new phone at this time.

if when you restore and it works that means it is software related when you then restore from a back up you just took all the soft ware that was on the phone and put it back. meaning what ever cause it not work is now back on your phone causeing it not to work agian. In situation like this its not 100% that you can use your back up because what ever cause the issuse may be on that back up

Extensions aren't working in Indesign & Photoshop CC

Kuler and Adobe Exchange aren't working in Indesign CC and Photoshop CC. I'm using Windows 7. Extensions appear and can be clicked on, but nothing happens in Indesign and Photoshop returns the message, "cannot complete command because the extension could not be loaded", and the mini bridge extension returns the same kind message in Photoshop CC. All Previous versions from CS5 - CS6 are still working fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Populair Podcast doesn't work since the latest update

Mine populair podcast does not work anymore since the latest update. Every-time I try to access this menu-item I get an error in French that this isn't available from the iTunes Store.
The error message is very strange because that's the only item displayed in French. All the other menu-items are in the language that I want (Dutch).
Are there some other having the same problems with populaire podcasts?

On Vista Home premium, uninstalling and reinstalling buth iTunes and Apple Applicatioon Support did NOT work for me.
What did work for me was manually copyting CoreVideo.dll from the Apple Application Support folder into my iTunes folders (actually, to both of them - under Program Files and Program Files (x86)) as per advice posted in a Windows forum, found after an hour or more of frustration and failure.

For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds
