Podcasts being duplicated on my iPhone

Recently, iTunes has started duplicating podcasts on my iPhone 3GS. I will have multiple episodes of a particular podcast in iTunes on my PC, and each time I sync, iTunes creates another copy of certain episodes on my phone. Not all episodes, only a few. And I see no pattern to it. I can resolve the issue short term by unchecking the Sync Podcasts box on my iPhone, Applying that, then rechecking it and applying again. After that, the iPhone will be correct. But the next time I sync, it will again duplicate some episodes of some podcasts - and always the same ones.
I've tried deleting and re-downloading the episodes that are being duplicated, and the same thing still happens. And of course I've tried rebooting the iPhone several times.
This just started within the past couple weeks, so it could be something in iOS 5.1, or in iTunes 10.6, which both also came along roughly during that time frame.
Is anyone else seeing this?

I have the same problem with all of my email accounts on my iphone 4S. But it's not the phone, it's something to do with iCloud. I hope someone can answer this question because it's really annoying. I've already removed one of my accounts from the iphone and look online. I'm considering doing the same with my other email addresses.

I also have this problem though it only seems to affect my iPod Nano (6th gen). It does not seem to affect my iPhone (though now as I type this, I better confirm that as I haven't manually managed podcasts on my iPhone since the last iTunes updates). I have iTunes set to "manually manage music and videos" (just like OP, I'd rather manage music and videos myself rather than construct playlists and have iTunes sync them), and under the "Podcasts" tab on my nano, I do not have "Sync Podcasts" checked.
Is this something that has occurred since the last iTunes update?

Notes are being duplicated on my iphone

Does anyone know why Notes are being duplicated and triplicated on my Iphone? I use both my Imac and MB Pro to add to current notes depending on where I'm sitting in the house.

Go to Settings>Notes>Default Account and set it to iCloud. Then open the Notes app, tap Accounts at the top, tap your iCloud account on the Accounts list, then try creating a new note and confirm that it appears on icloud.com now. If it does, leave things this way and your notes will sync properly with iCloud.

Why are my contacts and reminders being duplicated to another iphone in my house?

I bought two iphones yesterday and was putting in my contacts. When I saved each one on my phone, the contact saved on my partners new phone too. Sounds like you may be trying to use the same iCloud account on both phones. Each phone should have its own iCloud account to avoid actions taken on one phone being replicated on the other. If you set up the iCloud accounts using the same Apple ID on both phones, on one of the phones do the following:
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn off each of the synced services (contacts, calendars, etc.), when prompted choose to keep the data on the phone.
When finished, scroll to the bottom and click Delete Account. (This deletes the iCloud account from this phone only.)
Set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID and turn syncing back on for contacts, etc.
You will have to manually delete the unwanted contacts from each phone but once this is done you should no longer have any "cross-contamination".

App or podcast downloaded to iphone is deleted from iphone and transferred to iTunes 11. How can I keep the file from being deleted from the iPhone?

I recently updated iTunes from version 10.x to 11. In version 10, I could download a podcast or an app to my iPhone from the app store, then the app or podcast would co COPIED to iTunes during a sync. Now with version 11, when I sync, the app or podcast is deleted from my iPhone and MOVED to iTunes. How can I get back the old feature of making a copy? This is a very dumb thing that happens in iTunes and I can not believe that I am the only one to complain abou this. Please help me. What do I need to change in iTunes to keep my copy on the iPhone.

Not 100% sure of your question. If you are wanting to delete apps from itunes just right click then delete then empty recycle bin.

Podcasts not showing up in iphone podcasts list

i've seen posts on this issue on here, but no "fix". When i connect my iphone 4 to my Macbook Pro, click on my iphone under the Devices list in the left window, click Podcasts, i see some of my podcasts but not all. I've copied podcasts manually over to the iphone, and I see them being copied in the top window, but they dont all show up. But if I click "Music" then search for podcasts, I can see all of them. I see my podcasts in my Macbook's list of podcasts in itunes. I know the podcasts are there also becuase if I disconnect my iphone, and go into my iphone, then ipod add, then More, then Podcasts I see them.
Hopefully someone has some ideas how to resolve this, it's really annoying, makes it difficult to see what's on my iphone.

Try clicking onto your smart playlist "Recently Added", ticking only those podcasts you want to sync.
They should be there.
Then manually go through syncing again, remembering to click the "Recently Added" playlist.
I have the same problem with not being able to see some new playlists I've created on my iphone syncing screen, but this is how I get round it.

Music and podcasts keep erasing themselves on Iphone 4s

This is driving me nuts. I've had the phone for a year now and it only just started doing this in the last week. Everytime I go to listen to something on my phone its all gone! When I plug it into the computer it shows that the music and podcasts should be loaded to it but they simply are not. I used to have it on wireless sync and I thought maybe that was the problem but I've since turned it off and am still having the issue.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

Try deselecting Sync Music under the Music tab and deselect Sync Podcasts under the Podcasts tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync. This should remove all music and podcasts from the iPhone.
Follow this by reselecting Sync Music and Sync Podcasts checking your selections below for being transferred to the iPhone followed by a sync.

New podcasts not synching to my iPhone or iPad

While the Podcasts that I had subscribed to in the past are still syncing, any new Podcast channels that I subscribe to are downloading to iTunes but do not sync to my iPad or iPhone. I have checked that:
the tick mark to the left of the podcast title is ticked
if I select the device in the left hand panel and go to the Podcast Tab, the Sync Podcasts is ticked (in fact other new podcasts being downloaded from the previously subscribed channels are downloading to my devices)
Automatically include All unplayed espisodes of all podcasts is selected
the effected podcasts are still shown as unplayed
I am using iTunes for Mac version 10.5 running on OSX 10.7.2.

Never received any reply from anyone on this issue and it is still outstanding. I have taken some other steps and still have no solution. I went to show the problem to one of the staff at the Genius Bar in our of the Apple stores. He was unable to find the problem. I have unsubscribed to all the podcasts and resubscribed and again it was only the ones to which I was already subscribed earlier that downloaded. I have also reinstalled iTunes. I could not de-install iTunes first as the system does not allow that.
The fact that the newly subscribed to podcasts do download to my Mac but then do not sync both to the iPhone nor to the iPad would seem to indicate the problem is either a 5.0.1 problem or an iTunes problem.
I have run out of things to try. Any help would be appreciated.

Any help that you can provide in helping my iPhone accurately sync with iPhoto and iTunes will be greatly appreciated.
Symptoms:
1)   Sync: It’s not completing the sync. Below, I’ve provided all of my settings from the iTunes Summary tab so that you might tell me if I’ve selected any incorrect options. I prefer to sync the “old school” way – by connecting to the computer – as opposed to syncing over the cloud. Perhaps this is what’s causing the problem? Here is a list of the steps displayed in the iTunes window as the sync progresses:
waiting for sync to start (step 1 of 7)
backing up (step 2 of 7)
preparing to sync (step 3 of 7)
determining apps to sync (step 4 of 7)
preparing apps to sync (step 5 of 7)
importing photos (step 6 of 7)

2)   Photos: I've selected only certain of my iPhoto albums to sync to my iPhone. All of the albums are correct/complete in iPhoto. All of the albums are listed on my iPhone, both before and after the sync, but the albums are empty (no actual photos) before and after the sync. Perhaps this is tied to the fact that the sync isn’t completing, but because “importing photos” is one of the steps that the incomplete sync displays, I don’t know.
3)   Apps: When I launch iTunes and click on the Apps folder under the Library listing, then click on the Updates tab, iTunes searches for any Apps needing to be updated and provides a list. If I click on Update All, the Apps are successfully updated in iTunes. But, when I plug in my iPhone so that the updates will transfer to the apps on my iPhone, the updates don’t transfer to the apps on my iPhone and those apps still reflect that they need updating on the iPhone.
Other Potential Pertinent Info:
The flash memory hard drive on my MacBook Air recently died (perhaps a month or two ago). Apple had emailed me about a known issue and literally the next day, my MacBook Air crashed. I installed a new flash memory drive and re-installed everything from a backup off of an external hard drive. Everything seems to be working fine; it recreated accurately all of my software and data, including iPhoto and iTunes, the pictures and songs (respectively) for which are stored on that hard drive, as opposed to being on the flash memory in the MacBook Air itself. However, I don’t recall if the start of the sync problem described herein started happening at the same time that I replaced the flash memory drive. All I know is that the computer is working perfectly in all respects and that even as the sync is failing, it at least says that it’s doing the right things and looking in the right places (e.g., the list of albums on my iPhone matches the list of albums in iTunes, etc.).

You need to download iTunes on your computer. iOS 6 requires the latest version of iTunes which is 10.7.

You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.

A better solution is if your email provider uses IMAP. IMAP sync email folders between multiple devices. Meaning any device will receive the email, all sent email can be seen on the devices. If you delete email from one device the email is deleted from all the other devices. Check with your email provider to see if they offer IMAP services.
If they do not your choices are to 1) configure email on the PC to keep Mail on the mail server or 2) change email providers to something like Gmail or Outlook.com (as examples). FWIW I use Cox IMAP email and fully sync email between a Win 8.1 Update 1 laptop, a Win 7 desktop, an iPad 4, an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5S.
