I Have the same problem, it makes podcasts not worth bothering with!
Its so frustrating that Apple cannot get their freakin software working well on the most popular platforms before releasing.

It takes awhile.  Also, your ISP connection is part of the equation.

contact apple support to see what is going on -- there have been complaints about Icloud servers and mail - so hazarding a guess that they have a problem somewhere between you and them.  Weather (storms) can cause an internet connection to be slow - or have to be rerouted in the system causing a traffic jam somewhere along the line.    Generally - in the US I check the national weather service map and if there are storms in certain areas I give it up for the day as its just not going to connect.

  • Audio CDs Downloading Very Slow - Any Advice?

Any advice on how to increase the speed when downloading tunes from audio cds?  I am experienceing very slow burn time, and the songs tend to skip when i aply the audio cd through iTunes.   I have a Dell pc with windows 7.  Not certain which version of iTunes I am using, but it is a newer version.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
For the files and folders that do not have to be changed in the portal, you can define read-only access. These can then be stored in the local browser cache. You make this setting in the Details dialog box. Choose Settings → Properties. On the System tab page, activate the Write-Protected property.
This setting means that the content can no longer be updated using the CM user interface, however, you can still update properties. If read-only access is defined for a folder, you cannot create any more subfolders, but you can delete, move, and change existing documents.

  • ITunes downloading very slow.

    Hi guys,
I've experienced a vast decrease in speed on my iTunes for downloading apps and even using WiFi to download apps/updating them.
Are there any problems currently with iTunes stores? Because this is the first time this has happened. I'm from SGP and my ISP speed is 15MBps. Appreciate if there's anyone out there who can help. Thanks alot.

    Hey there Kimber.c,
It sounds like your Wi-Fi connection is very slow on this computer. I would try the steps in this section of the article named:
Wi-Fi: How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4628?viewlocale=en_US
Symptom: The Wi-Fi network seems slow
Streaming movies may skip or pause.
iTunes or other downloads may take an unusually long time to complete.
    Webpages may not load quickly.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,

  • Downloading very slow

    I recently updated ITunes Software.
Now downloading is very slow. Many times connection to Music Store is lost.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem ?

Yep I noticed the same issue JD20. I'm using SBC in the Bay Area and as soon as I go to download from iTunes I get throttled back. I have found that If I power cycle my modem and wait a minute or two and re-connect it improves for a while but then goesback to a crawl. I had 2.72 MBPS testd from various reliable sources then start Down-loading the new episope of Desperate Housewifes for my daughter and BAM 102Kpbs that's right 102K. I think Apple is getting singled out by ISP's and that stinks!!!

  • Download very slow

My Macbook downloads very slowly, so that I have to wait longer for my Mac to download a video from youtube than it takes to show the video. Also having problems with Mac Updates. The smallest updates takes hours to download. I am not a heavy downloader so I only notice it on those occasions. Is this a common problem?
    Thanks.

Go to www.speedtest.net and post the results
A lot of times, what one thinks is OK is in fact quite slow. It may be perfectly fine, but in order to help the more details the better.
    Maybe it's an ISP issue?
You say it's only on the one computer, so everything is fine on the others?

  • Wsus 6.3 - Server 2012 R2 - Update downloads very slow - no proxy is use

I have WSUS 6.3.9600.16384 installed on Server 2012 R2 and downloads are very slow, < 500 Kbps.
A proxy server is not in use and updates are downloading, but very slowly.
Plenty of BW available, consistent 60 Mbps internet download speed test results.
Current download setting is set to "on approval".
Has anyone had a similar problem and hopefully found a solution?

  • Itunes Podcast Download so slow?

Finally tired of the slow podcast downloads on my Itunes on my Macbook Pro wanted to ask what I can do to increase the rate?  I have 25 MB/sec internet that works great for Netflix and all other websites.  BUT for Itunes it takes forever to attempt to buy a movie rental I always give up. Any advice much appreciated!

There may be a number of reasons. What is the actual speed of your internet connection (speedtest.net). Are you trying to download SD or HD iTunes movies.

  • ITunes Match downloads very slow over LTE

Hi, I have an iPhone 5 on iOS 6.1.4. When downloading iTunes Match songs to my phone it is very slow over LTE taking roughly 1 minute per megabyte. Over wifi it is a lot faster taking perhaps less than 20 seconds per track on average. All other data based activity is fast over LTE so the issue does seem to be limited to iTunes Match downloads and is the same whether my music was matched or uploaded to to icloud.
Any fixes/suggestions much appreciated. I have a brand new handset and restored my phone yesterday. I'm on the EE network in London.
    Thank you

    Hello there Caliente78,
Here is some info about troubleshooting the cellular data connection.
iPhone: Troubleshooting a cellular data connection
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3780
Follow the instructions below for assistance with troubleshooting cellular data issues on your iPhone. After performing each step, please test to see if the issue is resolved.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
    Restart your iPhone.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update. Tap Settings > General > About.
Check for an iOS Software Update. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrier to report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Restore the iPhone as new.
    Contact your carrier to:
Verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, contact your carrier, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, orcontact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • RV180W Wireless Downloads very Slow

I have a new RV180W just setup for business and everyhing was going perfect.
    No poblems of installing.
All the computers who are connected by lan have no problem. Speed they have is around 17Mb download.
All the laptops who are connected by Wifi are slow. The download speed they have is 1.9Mb download.
No matter what i do or try i can't get the Wifi speed up.
Before this we had an other router and we had speeds by Wifi up to 15Mb.
No we bought a Cisco the best brand there is we think and we have big problems.
Our company must download a lot of big files so speed is very important.
Is it possible that the router can block the speed?
Where must i search is there any one who can help us?
If i do a speedtest from a laptop i get very stange number.
Like 55Mb download and 13Mb Upload, impossible our line is not 55Mb
Then next time i get 9Mb download and 10 Mb upload.
We put already new firmware on it but that doesn't help.

    Dear Customer,
Thank you for reaching the Small Business Support Community.
    I suggest you to try a few things;

    - If using WPA Enterprise or WPA2 Enterprise Mixed for security, change it to a local authentication instead of   RADIUS server authentication.
    - Wireless Channel to auto
    Wireless > Advanced Settings
Protection Mode. Select none (the default) to turn off CTS
Request to Send (RTS) Threshold and Fragmentation Threshold, set to default value 2346

  • ICloud Email downloading very slow - TalkTalk UK

    Hello all,
Please forgive me if I ramble but I'm entirely stumped by this.
I have (and have had for a few years) an iCloud account along with a ".mac" email address.
I have been using this address for the past 6 & a bit years on a succession of iPhones (currently an iPhone 5) as well as a new (2 months old) iMac - running Yosemite - without any problems.
My broadband is provided by TalkTalk in the UK & whilst they're not perfect, usually things work ok.
We're on a standard copper phone line with a download speed of approx 6.5 mbps and upload of around 750 kbps - not lightning fast but usually fine for us.
Anyway, a problem has arisen in the last couple of days whereby if I'm connected to the WiFi, either on the phone or the iMac, email downloads via my iCloud account (at the ".mac" address) are painfully slow - headers for emails will arrive and then I'm left waiting ages - sometimes minutes - for the rest of the message to appear.
I have searched both TalkTalk and Apple community forums to no avail & being as it's the weekend, Customer Services are not easily contacted.
I have tried all the usual things - rebooted/reverted to factory settings on the router and switched off WiFi on the iPhone (emails download lightning fast on 4G thus proving to my satisfaction that the broadband connection is causing the slow d/l speed).
Delivery & downloading content on other email accounts (both on the Mac & phone) is unaffected.
The mail connection doctor within Mail.app on the Mac tells me we're connected fine to iCloud IMAP.
The only thing I can think that might have caused an issue is the fact that yesterday I installed 'Plex' on the Mac with a view to streaming photos/videos etc on our Sony smart TV. It spent most of the day indexing & still didn't seem to function correctly so I got to the point where I aborted it and unistalled the app, as well as the preferences and other associated library info before emptying the trash, just to be sure..
Could the installation of this software possibly have screwed up settings in the router related to handling of the iCloud info?
I've looked in vain for any possible red flags in the router settings (I will confess to not wanting to mess with them) and have, as stated previously, restored the thing to Factory/ISP-settings without any joy.
So, before I begin the long & painful process of calling Customer Support, is there anything I can realistically look at/check which might shed some light onm this?
    Any help VERY gratefully received..
    David.

    Hi there,
If it's not your ISP or home network hub then try your mac DNS settings, download and install namebench and run it, see what settings it gives.
