Podcasts fail to show on iPod after updating to iTunes 10.1.0.56
Hi,
I'm using a 5th gen iPod classic. When I updated iTunes to version 10.1.0.56, all the podcasts I downloaded from iTunes after the update failed to show up on my iPod after synching. I've downloaded podcasts before and had them show up on my iPod. Is there a different procedure I don't know about?
Thanks for any help.
Hello msapostol,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
You may want to double check your iPod's Sync settings for podcasts from under your iPod's Podcasts tab in iTunes while it is connected.
Updates to iTunes or your iPod has known to reconfigure certain settings.

Itunes does not recognise the ipod after update to itunes 8.2.0.23
Hi, Now find, after putting new songs in my play list, that when I plug in ipod to update songs on ipod itunes does not recognise the ipod.
The version of iTunes I updated to was 8.2.0.23 - everything worked fine until then. I see there is a newer version 8.2.1 now available - do you think by installing this the "unable to recognise" problem would be fixed???
Thanks for your thoughts!I have a similar problem with the iPhone. Tried everything you can think of and then some. There is apparently some devastating bug 7.6 introduced into normal USB device recognition. I've been able to force the phone into recovery mode; the boot recovery USB driver does still work. Restoring the phone every time I need to sync is both scary and time-consuming.

Ipod classic won't mount after updating to itunes 11.0.2
ipod classic won't mount after updating to itunes 11.0.2.
I updated to itunes 11.0.2 today, after delaying it for a looong time (I have it @ work and don't like the new layout).
Since then, none of my ipods will mount/show up/update. I've tried all USB ports, 3 ipods, 3 cords. Wondering if you know of any issues. I've restarted the mac about 15-20 times today since as soon as I hook up an ipod, itunes immediately spins the beach ball and won't let me click out of it.
I've restarted the ipods 10+ times each.
All of the ipods DO show up on my desktop though. Just not in itunes anywhere with 11.0.2.
One more thing: It's not the cables or the ipods: they both mount fine when connected to my laptop (running old *** 10.4.11 and itunes 9.)
Machine is a Mac Pro running 10.6.8.Finding this Post took some time but I thought it was me talking when I read it. I was having the exact same issue. I have a G3 I've been upgrading like mad, including a Sonnet G4-500 CPU a Maxtor 60gb & 80gb HDs 1gb of RAM a new LaCie Firewire800 PCI card Graphics card etc. the latest was installing Panther 10.3.9 on the new 80gb HD and also swapping out the old CD-ROM and replacing with the (Apple standard) Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-110D combo drive in it's place. got everything up and booted and poof! no burning. Toast worked read/write no problem. iTunes could read and import no problem, but wouldn't burn a CD.
Downloaded "PatchBurn 3.1.3" installed, re-booted and all is OK in burner land again :>)
I wanted to just post my additional thanks to the lead to Patchburner, and I'm going to donate to the cause. It's worth a $20 donation just for my joy of not throwing this computer out the window!! -
my ipod is showing corrupted.. iam updating by itunes but its show error 1439.. can any1 help me
Hey there AftabskinHow are you?
Well, I have an iPod Classic, it gave me the error -1436 error and would not restore on iTunes.
I did the following:
My Boss (@work) has a fairly old iBook but it has OS-X, so I decided to give it a try and connected my iPod to it.
The system showed a window telling me that the disk is not MAC formated and needs to be validated prior further action. Snce it is a Mac product, I thought "yeah, go ahead".
It then opens the disk manager utility for the Mac and showed the disk. It's window has some tabs, one is to verify the disk, so I verified it. Guess what, it had some invalid clusters.
Then I formatted the iPod to OS-X Plus file system (next tab to the right). After formating the iPod, I "ejected" the iPod and reconnected to my PC. The Windows iTunes found an iPod with Mac file system and asked me to restore it. As I clicked on the "restore" button, I crossed my fingers as this was the last resource I have.
Finally, after the file extraction was done, it began to restore the iPod!!
I'm so happy about being able to restore the iPod that I decided to share with all you guys this solution as it is the most usefull, in my opinion.
Hope you can find someone with an iBook or a desktop Mac, so you can fix yours.
If it works for you, make sure to share the tip!!
Kind regards

How do i delete duplicates from my music library. After updating my iTunes the "Show Duplicates" option does not appear in the menu
If you are on Version 11.0.1 rather than 11 Apple put it back in
View > Show Duplicates
Option + View > Show Exact Duplicates
so if you are on 11 upgrade to 11.0.1 and you will have it -

After updating my iTunes it no longer acknowledges that my iPod or iPhone is connected so I can't update my music.. I have followed all of these steps and everything is working fine but this new version of iTunes isn't recognizing my devices. Any advice?
I have the same problem. Running Win 8 64Bit, updated to latest ITunes and now will not recognize phone or pad. Followed all advice from Apple (uninstall/restart/re-install, all in exact order) ... nothing. Spoke with Apple tech and walked through the whole process, but no resolution. Tech was trying to be helpful but has no way of addressing issue.

After updating to itunes 9, ipod won't sync
after updating to itunes 9 when trying to sync my ipod classic 160gb i get a message saying cant read ipod disc with exclamation point. help!
If you have corrupted songs in your itunes music folder it will stop when it gets to that song. Usually it will give you an error message. Delete the corrupted song and try again from the song after the corrupted one. Also, getting a call or text in the middle of a sync will interrupt it I have noticed.

Ipod wont Update in Itunes. HELP!!!!!!
Heya guys. After installing Itune 6.0, I seem to be having problems with my Itunes recognizing my Ipod. Its plugged in and charging on a USB 2.0 cable, but when I use Itunes, I cant seem to have Itunes even recognize that my Ipod is plugged in and charging. It wont update it for me. Everything else seems to work fine, I can download podcasts just fine and go into the music store.
Could it be that I need a USB cable? Before I would get a message saying something like the cable wasnt fast enough, but I didnt have trouble with it then.
This is my computer that Im trying to get my Ipod to update on Itunes. I have tried to reinstall Itunes, but have trouble there.
When I go into Itunes, I press the Edit Tab, then preference, then Ipod tab. It says then it isnt connected. But if it isnt connected, then how come it shows on my Ipod that it is charging?
From what I've been reading, Itunes 6.0 is causing alot of grief. Im sorry if this is long-winded but I hope that I gave some details that would help. Thank you if you can be of anyhelp.Heya guys. After installing Itune 6.0, I seem to be

Hi
After updating to iTunes 10.5 on Windows Vista I have found that I can no longer access the iTunes store... I am left with a blank iTunes screen with the loading bar stuck at halfway..
All other features seem to work... only opening the iTunes store is failing..
I have ran the diagnostics feature and this says everything is ok, so I'm a bit stuck
Please helpPurple-Gecko...all that I can say is, "Boom!!!" You are THE man/woman, whichever the case may be.
The "netsh winsock reset" command worked like a charm for my machine (running Windows XP SP3). I have had two weeks of frustration with this issue and finally found your post which got me back online with the iTunes store. My problem accessing the iTunes store began once I downloaded and installed iTunes 10.5 in preparation to upgrade to OS5. Once 10.5 was installed, I could open iTunes and access everything except the store (which prevented any of my devices from being able to sync). I followed all of the suggestions that I could find in Apple Support and the suggestions that I was emailed from Apple's support techs. I unistalled all Apple software and reinstalled iTunes multiple times, and still could not access the store.
Your suggestion is the only "cure" that I have found.
I thank you, my iPod thanks you, and my iPhone 4 thanks you for taking the time to post this fix. -
I have a 160gb iPod Classic that is about 3 years old. I just added new music to iTunes 2 days ago and synced my iPod. Today, when I opened iTunes, it asked for the update to 10.5. I allowed the update, added some more music to my library and synced iTunes with my iPod again. When the sync was done and I ejected my iPod, it appeared that all of my music, videos, podcasts and photos were erased from iPod. When I try to sync it again, iTunes freezes about 10 miniutes into syncing and then only about 300 songs appear on the iPod. I tried to restore the iPod which has led to more difficulties. Also, I noticed when I attempted to add music to my music library, iTunes no longer recognizes that there is a disc in the CD drive. I am running Windows 7, 64 bit and there seems to be alot of problems in the community after the iTunes 10.5 update. I have also been getting unknown error messages followed by the codes (-48), (-50), (-120), and (-53). Does anyone have any answers??? Help Please.... I have a library of 13,144 songs and I want them back on my iPod.
Since updating to iTunes 10.5 I am unable to view the iTunes Store - using Windows XP; Have the minimum system requirements changed for 10.5? What has changed? The Sync in 10.5 also seems to be slower than previously. What exactly does 10.5 deliver, to Users?
To make matters worse, in iPhone OS.5 it is not possible to purchase a Series (for instance) unless there is sufficient space to download direct to the Phone; Previously you could confirm the purchase on your iPhone and then use iTunes 'Check for Available Downloads' to download. This was the only available work-around to a dysfunctional online Store. Nice one Apple - you have successfully prevented me from making purchases (of any size) from your store; Why was this change necessary and how is it desirable?
NB: it should not be necessary (nor is it desirable) to uninstall anti-virus software to acommodate iTunes; although you may need to modify its configuration (confirming the Store connection is 'safe') during or after install -
