Podcasts have all disappeared after name editing

I used copytrans manager to edit podcast names on my ipad, there were 160+ podcasts, after they were all edited, i updated my ipad, all was fine, then clicking on the podcast folder on my ipad, i couldnt open the folder, however i could find all my podcasts under the search on the homepage. A couple of days later i synced some photos onto my ipad, and now NONE of my podcasts are there apart from the ones i didnt change the names of (about 5), they wernt backed up to my computer because they were downloaded directly on my ipad, they cant be downloaded again because they are radio podcasts and only go back a few months where as i had them from the very start of the year. How do i get them all back?? Any help would be much appreciated!

Were your podcasts IGN podcasts, perchance? I went into my app about an hour ago to listen To a new episode of Podcast Beyond and it started downloading, then disappeared and now there are no episodes in its feed. I looked at all of my other feeds and the IGN ones are the only ones that are like this. I have Unlocked, NVC, and GameScoop all acting this way. I went to the storefront and tried downloading the Beyond episode from there, but that didn't work either. It added it to my feed, but when I try downloading it, it just errors out immediately.
Edit: I thought I should add that I am on an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.1.1.

Sounds to me like a classic case of your HD failing.
Your SMART status may still show verified, with no errors on the Apple Hardware Test, Disk Utility shows no problems on Disk Repair- this is of no help.
I trust you have a good back-up and a bootable clone.

No you won't be refunded, it's your responsibility to keep copies of your purchases. Have you not got copies of them on backups ?

Will bookmarks, highlights and notes disappear after "personal" editing?

I have to read many .epub classical books (almost all public domain) on iBook. Those books are not necessarily from iBookStore. I make highlights, notes, etc.
My situation is that the formats/styles and typos of those classical .epub make me extremely uncomfortable.
So I am planning to edit those errors whenever I find them on my Mac.
Here is the workflow:
Read on iBook ——> highlights ——> see errors ——> export .epub to editing tools on Mac ——> edit ——> export to iBook ——> read
My only question is will all my bookmarks, highlights and notes disappear when I edit the epub?
Does anyone know where/how iBook records/store the highlights and bookmarks? In .plist or something else? Since If I know where all my annotations are, I couse easily preserve them when I am editing the epub.
This is a very very big problem of mine. Please help me.

Connect iPad with iTunes Mac and copy the book to Mac. Then import it into Sigil (an open-source epub editor) http://code.google.com/p/sigil/.
In Sigil, edit whatever part I need. Then export to iTunes again and sync with iPad connected.
After this, the book no longer belong to the iCloud, but treated as ordinary epub imported into iPad.

My yahoo e-mail folders have all disappeared except the inbox and trash.

I had a full list of folders in each of my yahoo accounts. They've all disappeared and I can't figure out how to get them back. I've already tried the procedures below:
1. I've right clicked on the account already and there is no "subscribe" button.
2. I went to the menu and clicked on "view" and "folders" and "all" was already checked.
3. I went to the settings and clicked on "server settings" and "advanced". It does not have the option of showing unsubscribed folders in it. It actually just says "when downloading this pop mail for this server, use the following folder for new mail. Then it give a choice of "inbox for this server's account" and "inbox for different account" and then there is a box that says "include this server when getting new mail."
Please help, I use my folders for storage for organization for knowing where things are more easily. I need them to be able to refer back to. Thanks with whatever you can assist with. PJ

I had looked at the Troubleshooting Info before but couldn't quite figure out how it would help.
With the help of Google I have now figured out how to kind of "see" the contents of the folderTree.json file. This file shows at lest some of the missing folder names but I have no idea to restore visibility of these folders.
The Upload images wouldn't accept the .json file but I have attached a SNIP of part of the file as displayed by "notepad". The entry "mailbox://nobody@Local%20Folders/Eudora%20Mail/Stans%20Mail/Funy-inspirational%20collections" is clearly one of the missing folder names.
So I know that some and probably all of the folder tree exists in memory somewhere and I also have daily B/U of the entire Hard Drive. The question is how to get them back where I can use them?

Need to find out what is your default notes and reminders. check corresponding websites. Example - my notes default is icloud - I go to icloud.com. My default notes are yahoo - yahoo.com and so on.

I've lost all the files that were on the desktop. All the folders are still there with subfolders but the files have all disappeared. Someone please help!

Unless the files were dumped in the Trash unintentionally, your files are still on your computer, somewhere. It's pretty easy to put files or folders in places without knowing it, but there is a good technique to find your data.'
Think over a file or folder whose name is familiar. Then, press Cmd-Space at the same time, which brings up Spotlight - the easiest way to locate files, folders, history, and much more. If you end up with a blank the first time, try again until you have a hit. If you have a hit, note the location of the files/folder; it's likely that all of your lost documents are in the same place.

Community profile pictures have all disappeared

It seems that all profile pictures in the community have disappeared.... All I get is the blank default picture.
Clearly, my pictures are still there, why else would I get a remove/change option (see image).... They simply don't show.

My thumbnails have all disappeared. If I view events there is the same one for all 270 events and if I open an event I have clack thumbnails. I can only see the photo if I open it individually.

Then to even further complicate matters the last editted phot is replaces as the thumbnail on all events foders!...grrr. No. Quitefrankly I didn't know I could even use iPhoto on iPad, I just have the photos app that came on it. This is on my laptop. I don't particularly like iPhoto I use it essentially to take photos off my camera and store all the originals. I use Photoshop. To work on them and store them in Dropbox (don't get me started on iCloud!). As I said this is a problem that seemed to crop up overnight after backing up to my external HD.

Slideshow Themes Have All Disappeared

I lost all my iPhoto and Aperture slideshow themes after upgrading to iLife '11. At first everything worked fine and I was able to access the existing and new slideshow themes in Aperture from the new iPhoto '11 upgrade (as advertised). Then it all broke.
Now I have no slideshow themes (or functionality) in either app. I'm not sure the exact moment that this all happened but just noticed it when trying to edit a few existing slideshows. The structure and music is all there but the slideshows are blank because there are no themes at all, just blank.
I repaired permissions, checked file structures, did a clean reinstall of both apps AND Snow Leopard, did every routine maintenance procedure there is. Nothing works. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Maybe there is a corrupt file that is shared by the two apps to manage slideshows? I've looked and looked, so far nothing works.

I'm documenting this in case anyone else encounters the same problem. There are three files that can be found in HD>Library>Application Support. These files are: iLife, iLifeMediaBrowser, and iLifeSlideshow. They somehow got corrupted in the upgrade process to Aperture 3.1 and/or iLife '11. The thing is that trashing the corrupted files in hopes that a clean reinstall will rebuild them does NOT WORK. It simply makes shared media unavailable to any of the apps. I had to restore the files from Time Machine from a previous state.
This took an entire day of troubleshooting to figure out. I hope this helps avoid this for anyone else.

My Finder menu, HD, and dock all disappeared after I mistakenly downloaded a bogus version of Firefox. How do I get them back?

I think I may have gotten some sort of virus after downloading a "bogus" Free version of Firefox. I uninstalled Firefox immediately, because I noticed my Macbook was acting strangely, but the next time I turned it on, my HD, Finder menu, and dock were all gone! Basically there is now an empty, blue screen. I have booted in safe mode and deleted preferences, but nothing is working.

This probably is the mistake you made. Many sites that offer application downloads also include adware as an unrequested 'bonus'. Try AdwareMedic and it should take care of the unwanted ad popups:

The lesson is, always download from the developers web site or from the APP store. That way no unwanted items will not be included.

Songs and videos all disappear after sync

Since updating to the new OS, sometimes when I sync my iPod touch, all the music and videos disappear. I then have to restore and it take a long time as I have a 64GB touch and LOTS of music. It's irritating to go to listen to some music and the entire library is missing. Just started with the new OS. Any suggestions?

Mine just had this problem. I read one of the other discussions and they said it was most likely caused by Genius. Either way, I just added a song to my iPod that wasn't already on there and ta da! All music and vids were back!

I have the same problem. For about 1 month ago I extended my iCloud storage account (+20 GB) in order to maintain my backups for iPHONE and iPAD as my account would expire 14/10. In spite of this, I got an email 15/10, which said that iCloud was reduced to 5 GB. 2 hours later I received a new email with comfirmation on the purchase of +20 GB storage plan. However, I only have access to 5 GB on my iPad and iPhone. Called Apple Support but they couldn´t help me. Did you find any solution ?

You can go to the websites and bookmark them as favorite. If you can't remember the web addresses they should be in bookmarks history.
