"Podcasts" missing from Store front page

Does anyone know why Apple made this change? When you scroll down there's no Podcasts category, and there's no Podcasts button next to "Music" "Movies" etc. across the top. The only way I can see podcasts in the iTunes store is to search for specific topics and scroll through the results. Very weird if you ask me, podcasts are one of the main things I download. They used to be listed next to other categories in the iTunes store, and now they aren't even listed on Apple's "itunes charts" website.

The link is only there when upgrades are available.

ITunes Holiday Sampler Album on the store front page on December 16th

So I log in to the iTunes store on December 16th to order a gift card for a relative, and I see the "Holiday Sampler Album" icon with the free banner on the main page of the iTunes store, I click to get it, and it tells me it is no longer available(apparently only avail. between 12-8 and 12-15-09). Please REMOVE it from the FRONT PAGE of the store if I can no longer get it!! You teased me and then no cigar! Bad Apple bad!!

Q: Why is that the switches tab is missing from device management page of my Aruba Central account?
A: Aruba Central is a cloud-based platform that enables you to manage your Aruba Wi-Fi network. Designed as a software-as-a-service (SAAS) subscription, Central provides a standard web-based interface that allows you to configure and monitor Instant Access Points (IAPs) and Mobility Access Switches.
Switches tab is available only when the end-user's aruba central account have the license to manage the switches. If only IAP license is available, then switches tab do not appear in device management page of Aruba Central.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Entire Podcast Deleted from Store

I established a podcast page for Party Favorz in March of 2008. Since then, I've changed the feed once without any problems. Earlier, I was notified by one of my members that they could no longer download my latest episode and in fact my entire page was missing from iTunes. I've since validated it and re-submitted it, which I suppose is fine. However, I will lose all of my comments and have to send out an email to everyone to re-subscribe and change all the links to my podcast on my various pages I use to promote my work. I guess my question is "What happened?" I don't understand that after all this time my entire page just disappeared. If anyone who has had a similar circumstance or can provide additional information as to why this happened and how to prevent it in the future, that would be greatly appreciated.

One of the reasons that podcasts can be rejected (though if this was the case they should have sent you an email) is unlicenced use of copyright material. Does your podcast include commercial recordings for which you have not either obtained written permission from the copyright holders or a podcast licence from a recognized authority? If so this could be a reason for rejection. If in fact you have such permissions or licence you could try contacting support to explain this:

Podcasts missing from Music Playlists

Front Row playlists used to show the same tracks as iTunes playlists, but in Leopard, Front Row fails to show podcast episodes in playlists. I just installed iTunes 8.0 and Front Row 2.1.6 on OSX 10.5.5, and the problem persists. What is the best workaround to let podcasts show up in Front Row playlists?

Here's my workaround in iTunes 8, but it's kludgy and only works for audio podcasts:
1. Set "Preferences > General > Import Settings..." to something sensible (I like MP3 / 16kbps mono / 11.025 kHz for small files and MP3-CD compatibility, you may prefer higher quality).
2. Change "Podcast / is true" to "Genre / is / Podcast" in all smart playlists (right-click a smart playlist name, select "Edit Smart Playlist").
3. Open a playlist with podcasts you want to work with Front Row. Use shift-click, option-click, or cmd-A to select all podcast episodes in the playlist.
4. In the Advanced menu, select Create MP3 Version or Create AAC Version (as set in prefs). Wait for iTunes to rip copies of each item.
5. To remove doubles from smart playlists, delete the originals from the main Podcast list or add "Podcast / is false" to smart playlists.
6. Select the playlist from Front Row > Music > Playlists. It should now have your podcasts.
7. Tell Apple you need Front Row to show podcasts in playlists again.

Is there a better way?

I eventually noticed that when I plugged in the iPod, the sync preferences for Podcasts were set to something "odd" - they are now set to include ALL episodes of ALL podcasts.
Even so, they remain missing from any playlist, however, they are available on the iPod from the podcast menu.
The only way I've got the podcasts to appear in a playlist on the iPod was to do Get Info > Options > Media Kind change to Music (instead of Podcast). Then it all works OK.
iTunes 8 showed no such problems.

Podcast Missing from New AppleTV...

Anyone else notice that that section is missing from the GUI of the new appleTV? are they really getting rid of Podcasts? I'd be sorry to see that go as i'm an avid user of Podcasts.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was concerned about this, I would say 50% of my usage of my current Apple TV is video podcasts. Interestingly, reviews never talk much about this but I find you have pretty good on demand content via podcasts.

"Firewall" and "Internet" buttons missing from "Sharing" preferences page

Hi,
I recently upgraded two servers to 10.4.3 (one was running 10.2 and one was running 10.3). On both servers now the Firewall and Internet tabs are missing from the Sharing preferences. Also, under the list of services on the Sharing prefs, there are only three services listed:
REmote Login, ARD, and Remote Apple Events. No other services are listed.
I found this problem because something in the firewalls changed and was blocking access to the servers via ARD. If I stop the firewall, then ARD works. So I wanted to go into the firewall settings and open up the ports required by ARD. Lo and behold, no Firewall tab on the Sharing page!
I've searched everywhere for info on what could make most of the services disappear, along with the Firewall and Internet tabs. But I can't find anything. Any ideas out there?

A call to Apple confirmed that the majority of services on 10.4 Server are now handled through Server Admin rather than through the Sharing preferences window.

Import to CS2 from a front page web site

Is it possible to import a front page web site into a CS2 suite, if not, is this function available on any of the later CS suite versions?

Why is the formatting missing from my html page created from a template?

Hope you can help me.
I've created a new template in dreamweaver - all good. When I preview the template page in a browser everything looks perfect.
But when I create a new html page from that template, even though the page looks perfect in design view, all the formatting is missing when I preview it in a browser.
The site settings were relative to the site root and I've changed that to be relative to the document (not sure if that should make a difference). Either way, it hasn't changed anything.
Any ideas?

If you have not enabled "Preview using temporary files" in your PREFERENCES then site root relative links will fail on preview. Why? Because site root relative links *always* begin with "/", and when the browser sees that, it (since it knows nothing about Dreamweaver sites) correctly looks for the path starting from the root of your hard drive, not the root of the DW site. When you enable preview using temp files, before handing the file to the browser, DW obligingly converts all root relative links to document relative links (which *will* work on preview) but to do that it must create a temporary file (there are other things that happen as well, like external files being embedded in the code for the preview, but that is not relevant to this discussion). The reason a temp file is created is so that these changes don't affect your saved file.
So, if you want to use site root relative links, and do previews of your pages, you must enable the temporary files in preview. There is really no downside to doing this except that you may occasionally see a curious file named xzys139(.html in your local file list - this is a temporary file that was handed to the browser for preview, and for whatever reason was not deleted. In fact, this can save your bacon sometimes because it gives you a 'backup' of that page to which you can revert in the event of something catastrophic.
In the larger picture, there is no benefit to using site root relative links UNLESS you are also using server-side includes. It will make your life a bit simpler if you do not use them.
Finally, having made those links in your template file with the site root relative option enabled, changing that option to document relative will only affect NEW links, not existing ones. This is why Ken asked to see the link in your template - it's because he knows that even though you have made the option change, that old link will not be affected and will therefore fail on preview (assuming you have not enabled the temp file thing).

CS6 is missing from My Orders Page and I need to reinstall. Where did it go?

I need to reinstall CS6, but when I visited my Adobe account > My Orders Page, it was not listed. In fact all order history is missing (all my upgrades). I need to get back to work and finding an answer to this is painful. Is this Adobe's attempt to force me into the CC? Has anyone else experienced this? How do I get my upgrades back?

Sounds like they might have accidentally been removed from the toolbar. The toolbar can be customized pretty extensively, so it's not an uncommon mistake. Take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Back and forward or other toolbar items are missing]]. It will show you how to restore the buttons.

Podcast removed from Store

Hi
I have had some problems with my server, so the feed was not availible for some time. Unfortunatly the podcast was removed from the iTunes store.
Now that the feed is online again I can't find it in iTunes Store.
If i try to Re-submit the podcast to the iTunes Directory, the feed appear to already bee in use, but still cannot be found in the Store.
The podcast is working if I enter the adress, but cannot be found by search.
Do anyone have an idea on how to get it back in the store?

You've fallen over a bug in the automated part of the sumbissions process which tells you that the feed has already been submitted, even though it's been removed. The workaround is to change the title slightly - if you can change the feed filename as well that would help. You can always change the title back once it's been accepted.

Podcast missing from iTunes

Our podcast of 6+ years is gone from iTunes. We received no information regarding this and resubmition results in the "This podcast has already been submitted" message. We have been in the top 5 in sports and the top 100 overall every year since starting this show (as high as #5 overall), and it seems as though all is lost now with no information as to why. We had a 4.5 star rating with over 500 reviews.
Any advice/help would be appreciated.

No explination whatsoever. It was definietly gone before, but now I can see everything that was there before and we are showing up in search results again. I have a feeling someone fixed something. Just glad it's resolved.

LOST TV Episode "Lockdown" missing from store...

Where is it. It seems to be lost. The new episode that aired last week on ABC is not in the store, and it is almost a week later. The episode I am looking for is Episode 17, "Lockdown".
