Podcasts not available?

Why aren't some of the podcasts available? Does Apple not have all the aggrements with whoever is in charge of the podcasts.
Oh well I guess I'll just keep waiting and use 3rd party software.

Hello Didier- see message below
Hello,
A lot of us are in the same boat..... No answers from Apple yet. The only thing that I've heard is that if you click on one of their "Report a concern" buttons while on a podcast page ,then send a message about what has happened your shows may re-appear. But I have only heard of one person having success with this.
You will want to add your podcast to this list of others that have been dropped. Perhaps Apple will use it as a reference for investigation....We can only hope...
I don't know how to link it here- but you should be able to find it via a search with the information provided below:

  • Podcasts not available for browsing

When in iTunes I try to browse podcasts in the International - Dutch section (I live in the Netherlands) I get a message "Your request could not be completed. The item you've requested is not currently available in the Dutch store." Huh?
All other 16 listed languages are accessible (except Japanese, where I get the same message), so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my setup, and all my software is up to date.
I asked Apple support team three times, but they don't seem to understand the problem.

It just means that it's not available at the moment.
    I've found a workaround.
Choose Belgium as iTMS country (you don't have to Sign In) and browse to the same place again.
All the Dutch podcasts are available now.
I tried subscribing to one of them (Radio 538: Evers Staat Op) and it was succesful.
Probeer dat eens en laat weten of het gelukt is.

  • Podcast "not available" in UK iTunes?

When I put the link for people to subscribe to my podcast in my blog it leads to a link that says (for me) this item is not available in the iTunes UK store.
I'm a UK podcaster and I can access it with a search and then subscribe. So how can I let my UK listeners subscribe through iTunes? How can I tell iTunes to add it to an international iTunes store? The podcast is hosted on a US site (libsyn). If I 'tell a friend' through the iTunes store the same link as below works fine.
Obviously I can't test what the result would be for a US person but the link I'm trying to use is:
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=3D27813331
    Any help much appreciated.
    Tina.

Well, it seems i was in luck with the e-mail to podcasts (at) apple (dot) com as i recieved this reply within a few hours.
    Hello,
Your podcast has been activated: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=285677450

  • Podcast not available in Hong Kong store?

Is there any reason why Apple event and keynotes podcast are not available in Hong Kong itunes store?

There is no obvious reason why your podcast should have been removed from the Store. I can only suggest that you email them at podcasts 'at' apple.com and hope that you can get a useful response.

  • New podcasts not available since 5/6

I download daily podcasts to my ipad such as many ESPN daily programs, but they stopped updating since May 6 (all older podcasts are available up to 5/6).  They are available on the ESPN website, so I know they exist.  Why aren't they available to download through my iTunes app?  I am out of the country, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Good luck getting an answer. I've been trying to figure this out for a month now. Podcasts on my macbook but nowhere to be found for the touch. Sometimes it's days before they appear.

  • Media Kind "Podcast" not available

With iTunes 8 I could finally set my audiobooks to "Media Kind: Audiobook", so that they will show up in my "Audiobooks" folder and no longer in "Music".
But there are still other media items that are in wrong folders:
    1) Audio Podcasts in the "Music" folder
    2) Video Podcasts in the "Movies" folder
I am not able to select "Media Kind: Podcast" for this item because it is simply not an option.
Also the method of setting the "Genre" to Podcast does not help, as so often tried by others already.
Is there any solution to this problem?

Thank you for your suggestion, Katrina.
I tried the program and found several hidden iTunes tags that cannot be accessed on iTunes itself. I tried to set the value of one of the older podcast episodes to the value that the new one had but it did not work. This whole issue is simply a pain in the butt, and you are right, I should not have to use a third party program in order to get the older episodes into the same podcast folder as the new ones.
iTunes needed 8 versions to finally make it possible to tag files as "Audiobook" in iTunes itself (although there is still one flaw: every time you import the files anew you have to tag them again as "Audiobook" because iTunes does not remember).
I hope it doesn't take another 8 versions for adding "Podcast" as a "Media Kind" option so that I can have finally all my podcast episodes in one place.
I will definitely send feedback to Apple about this issue.

  • Podcast not available in store, works for subscribers.

My podcast has worked for over a year but recently it became unsearchable within the itunes store but is it visible to me as a subscriber.  I noticed as well that the link from our website to the podcast no longer works as well.  Any help would be appreciated.  Here is the itunes link: http s :// itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/branches-a-christian-church/id512745759
    RSS  www.themim.com/podcasts/branches_podcasts.xml
Sorry for the strange formatting it will not let me post anything with an h t t p : / / on this forum...

Please don't multiple post, it just causes confusion. Please see my answer in the thread you added your question to.

  • Approved podcast is not available after a week.

I received the following e-mail from Apple stating that our podcast had been approved in the iTunes directory.
    Dear podcast owner,
Your podcast, located at http://www.refactoredpodcast.com/?format=rss, has been approved. You should expect to see it on the iTunes Store within the next few hours. When it's available, you will be able to access it with the URL below.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/refactored-podcast/id928960430
You will be able to find your podcast through a search on the iTunes Store within the next two days.
For more information on iTunes Podcasts, including how to change or remove your feed, see Making a Podcast and our FAQ.
There is also an Apple Support Community called Producing Podcasts, where you can find information and assistance from fellow podcast owners.
    Regards,
    The iTunes Store team
The podcast has not shown up yet in any of the searches, and when I follow the link iTunes tells me it is not available in the US, which is where it was submitted from. Has anyone else ran in to this? The link they provide at the bottom (Producing Podcasts Community) no longer exists either.
    Thanks!

A number of people have complained recently that it's taking a lot longer than it should for newly accepted podcasts to appear in the Store. If your feed is OK there isn't really anything you can do except wait. You could try emailing Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com but I'm afraid you will probably just get a form answer telling you how to submit a podcast (which you already know). Your feed appears to be OK.

Podcasts that I had subscribed to with my old computer are invisible in the iTunes store on my new computer. The error message says the podcast is not available in the US. Yet I could still download the podcast on my old computer before I switched. How can I fix this?

    Hello, ted_marx38.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
The most common cause for this issue would be media present that is purchased with another Apple ID.  When prompted to authorize the computer it may show a different Apple ID.  If this is the case, the computer will need to be authorized for this Apple ID.  The article below will walk you through the process of verifying if that is the case or correcting the issue if not.
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases

  • Subscribe to podcast that is not available outside a country?

Does anyone know if/how I can subscribe to a podcast that is not available outside its "home" country?
More specifically, I'd like to subscribe to this podcast:
       http://pod.drs.ch/diskothek_im_zwei_mpx.xml
I can subscribe to it, but I only get "episodes" that say that it is available only in Switzerland.
Is there an easy way to still obtain the episodes?
(Setting up a proxy is probably too cumbersome to me.)
    Regards,
    Gabriel.

You need to be in a country to use its store, so unless you are in the US with a US billing address on your account then you can't buy from the US store - you can only use the South African store. You can try requesting that the song be added to the South African store, but unless the rights-holder agrees to it then Appl won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

  • I am getting a message that "my podcasts are not available at this time"  Second day this has happened, i have synced phone many times.  what is going on?

I am getting a message on my iphone 5 for the last two days saying that " my podcasts are not available at this time"-any ideas of what this could mean?  I have synced phone many times.  Is it itunes?  My carrier?
    thanks

I just figured out a solution.  I connected my ipod to my computer, went to the 'info' tab on the menu for my ipod.  I checked 'Sync Mail Accounts', which were greyed out until I selected them.  That connected me to the Cloud and everything went back to normal.  Hope this helps someone else!

  • While updating my iphone, I am receiving a notice that itunes is not available.  Is system not avaialbe and should I just try later?

while updating my iphone, i recevied a message that iTunes was not availabel and to try later.  Is the system not available or is there something wrong with my computer

    Hey csumner1,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are receiving a "Not enough free space" alert when attempting to sync your new iPhone 4s. The following article may help to resolve your issue:
iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1503
    Resolution
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
    1. Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
    2. Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    3. Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
    4. Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
              - If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
    5. Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
              - Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
              - Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
              - Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
              - Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    6. Restore using iTunes.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Received approval notice but podcast not showing up in iTunes

    Greetings,
My podcast was approved today but hasn't shown up in the store via the link given.  When clicked it gives a "The item you've requested is not currently available" message. For reference, here's the link I was given as well as my feed:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/seek-and-destroy/id792528292
    http://seekanddestroy.libsyn.com/rss
Does it usually take a while for the podcast to show up in the store?  The email said a few hours, but its now going on 6 hours since I received the email and the link still isn't working.
    Thanks!
    Brett

As an update, the podcast is now searchable and the page shows the three current episodes.  The original link is the only thing that is not currently working, and still gives the "not available" message.

  • Business English Pod - not available in Itunes Store Brazil

Please, I would like to subscribe the podcast Business English Pod and there is a message from Itunes Store that the link is not available in Brazil. I have already asked the Business English Pod and they can`t do anything about it.
Can you please guys authorized this feed?

You don't need to work through the iTunes Store. Open the "Subscribe to Podcast" window under the Advanced menu in iTunes and paste in the following URL:
    http://feeds2.feedburner.com/BusinessEnglishPod
If that still doesn't work, there are some other options on the developer's web site.
    http://www.businessenglishpod.com/
though they may not be as convenient as using iTunes. If none of those options work for you, then it's due to either a choice by the podcaster not to allow their podcast in Brazil or something with the Brazilian government or Internet providers.
By the way, we're all just fellow users here. Employees of the iTunes Store do not participate in these forums.
    Regards.

  • Podcast Not Displaying In New iTunes Format?  Causing Issues

My main podcast is The Paranormal Podcast. For some reason, despite its popularity the iTunes team has not converted it to the new iTunes layout. I have two other podcasts which have been converted with no problem.
As a result, when you click to read the reviews on The Paranormal Podcast page, it says "not available in the US Store"?! Although you can download or subscribe just fine...I have tried submitting a ticket to iTunes via the "report a problem" drop down with no luck. Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions to get Apple to fix it?
My shows have been featured many times and the iTunes folks shave always been great to my shows but this is a little frustrating. Thanks for your help in advance!

Firstly, may I just clarify the terminology so we don't get at cross purposes. Your feed is at
http://jimharold.com/?feed=podcast (see at the bottom of this post for further comments).
The URL which you posted in your second post (which arrived after I'd started composing my response) isn't a feed but that of your iTunes Store page:
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=78459818
and this is indeed the link which would have been in the original email I referred to.
I was intrigued to discover that your podcast is indeed being displayed in the old blue format - I'd not seen that before - every other podcast I've checked, including my own, appears in the new white format. I would have assumed that the new look was just a 'skin' displaying the same information and would have affected all podcasts immediately. Apparently not - probably it will change eventually.
Your podcast is fully available and behaving entirely normally, however as you say, though the first three reviews are showing on the page the 'see all reviews' link doesn't work.
Not being privy to the inner workings of the Store I can't suggest a reason for that: if you want to chase it up you should contact Support rather than using the 'Report a concern' link:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'.
It's possible that you won't get much of an answer; it's also possible that it will sort itself out eventually.
Regarding this feed, it validates and works OK, but Feedvalidator throw up some minor errors in its report which you may want to look at (for example you have a relative link which isn't going to work) - however I don't think any of these have much effect on iTunes.
