Dears, just a suggestion :
Why the Sony Walkman proprietary app on Sony android phones does not support podcasts?
I am hearing podcasts on a daily basis and as I am unable to manage them via Walkman app, I am forced to use different app... What a pity...
So, guys, why are we still missing this important music feature in your Sony Walkman app?

The phone does support podcasts but to add one you need to open the Movies app instead. Open Movies and then swipe from left or tap the movies icon at the top left and then select Podcasts. Downloaded podcasts using this function will be displayed in the Walkman app.

All music downloads from the iTunes Store come in AAC format. There is no choice.
You can do either of the following:
Buy the AAC and convert it per these instructions:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Save a copy of a song in a new file format
OR
Purchase your songs from a retailer who sells MP3s, such as Amazon MP3.

Transfer from a Sony Walkman

Hi everybody.
I would like to tranfer the files I loaded on a Sony Walkman (Atrac AD format or OMA) that I was using on a PC to my MAC and/or my iPod. Does anyone know how to do?

You'll have to convert them to a real format, not the
unusable sony proprietary formats nothing else
reads.
You could always convert them to an unusable Apple proprietary format nothing else can read.
If you use the unbelievably awful soul-destroying Sonic Stage program, it should let you convert your OMA files to WAV files. You can then import them to iTunes and convert them to whatever format you like (well, from the few that iTunes plays).

How do I transfer an audiobook from iTunes (purchased from the iTunes Store) to a Sony Walkman MP3 player so I can listen to it?

I purchased two audiobooks form the iTunes store. They both have DRM.
I have used 2 out of 5 of my downloads on a personal computer and an iPod. I tried to use 2 more of my downloads on a second computer to transfer the books to a Sony Walkman, but was unable. How can I do this?

rip to itunes, put it in a playlist that you usually sync to your phone and then sync.

Old podcasts in Sony Bridge for Mac

Hi,
I am trying to get rid of old podcasts that are not even on my hard disk or in iTunes anymore but are still being displayed in Sony Bridge, very annoying..
No way of removing them?

The issue is that Sony Bridge for Mac keeps on displaying podcasts that have long been erased from iTunes and from my hard disk. I thought that Sony Bridge would automatically remove them also from its own fils but it doesn't. So I am stuck with old podcasts in Sony Bridge, or at least the titles of those, and I can't get rid of them in Sony Bridge. Very annoying... (They are displayed in the podcast list in iTunes within Sony Bridge): see for example the 'Arinze podcast' in the schreenshot, included in this post.

Moving sony walkman content onto my ipod

I have a Sony ATRACs walkman and now bought the new 30gb ipod - for films and music on the plane - my question is....is it possible to move the music from my sony to the apple? I've tried treating the sony as a hard drive and dragging it across but that doesnt work...any ideas??

Are the songs on the Sony walkman on your computer?
Can you drag the songs from the sony to the computer and then import those songs into iTunes?? (Drag them on to your harddrive, and then go to file-->add file to library in iTunes and add those tracks)

Error in Songs grouping in Sony Walkman software in Xperia Z

In Sony Walkman ssoftware, there is differnt option available like "Artists", "Albums", "Songs" etc...
Problem is that If you select the "Albums" option, it shows the diffrent Albums, but if any album is containing songs by diffrent "Album Artist", then there shows multiple album for the same Album name...
Although there is Artists group for grouping the songs by their "Artist", but Album should consider the distinct Album names, not the Album and Album Artist combination as unique... which creates the same album coming multiple times...
It should be rectified asap...

Sony walkman player bug after lollipop update

Sony walkman player has bug when listen to song via headphone bass goes off and sound become very loud and worse...sony should look after this issue.

Walkman is my favorite music player app. I never install any other app to play music. Unfortunatly, this app isn't working properly after Lollipop update. I'm experiencing the following issues: 1. Sometimes volume up/ down doesn't work2. Equalizer and other sound effect don't work3. Sometimes, it play music without any bass4. For 1/ 2 mp3 file the above mentioned issues are permanent. When I face any of these issues, I restart the app/ reinsert my headphone. Sometimes, the problem is solved and sometimes not. Do you have any explanation sbout the issues? Please don't ask me to repair Lollipop. I have already done it. Should I try kitkat again?

Hi. I am researching for the Sony walkman that the Necros the henchman in the Bond movie â€œthe living daylightâ€ uses to kill (garrotte) people.

It's difficult to to see what model it could be as the still is rather indistinct. Is the item in question in the hand of the man with the hat or is it connected to the front of the other man's shirt? The device on the shirt looks too small to be a cassette Walkman - perhaps it's a radio Walkman?

You can, however, use tracks you import into iTunes or purchase from the iTunes Store on your Walkman. You will have to use whatever method Sony provides for loading tracks onto the Walkman, and may have to convert the tracks to a format the Walkman can accept (tracks from the iTunes Store are 256 kbps AAC, which is the default setting for importing from CDs as well).

Sony Walkman and Android Wear

I am using a Xperia Z3 with the latest firmware together with a LG G Watch. There is a bug with the Sony Walkman app on the watch when the phone is connected via bluetooth to the watch. If I turn off the bluetooth connection (when I turn off the phone for example) the watch will pop up a Sony Walkman message saying that it can not find any music to play. If I sync a play list to the watch, when I turn off the bluetooth connection the watch launches the Sony Walkman app.

There are two options, one lets you choose which music player to launch on the phone and this works fine when you set it to Walkman. The other is an app that is listed in the watches app collection and lets you play music straight from the watch over bluetooth headsets. Its this app that trys to launch every time I disconnect the watch from the phone.
In any case I just blocked the Walkman notifications on the watch as I don't use it to play music directly from the watch and that basically solves the problem. But if I did want to play music from the watch and not just control the phone's Walkman app it would be annoying to have this notification pop up all the time.

Since it has a USB interface, I would check with Sony for Mac drivers if it does not work out of the box. Since it's primarily a PC device, be sure to backup the memory before experimenting with it on a Mac, since it's no doubt a FAT32 file system.

Sony Walkman vs iPhoto

I have an old Sony Walkman NWZ-E series. Although not supported on the Mac, it works basically like any other MSC player. But, when I connect it, iPhoto automatically launches. Now, this is not a phone and it has no camera, it's just a dumb MP3 player, yet something in the system thinks it's a camera. This could be connected to another peculiarity, ie, that as soon as I eject it in Finder, it is immediately re-mounted, so I have to unmount it in Terminal.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to persuade Mac OS X that this device is not a camera? (I know I can stop iPhoto from launching automatically when a camera is attached, but that's not what I want.)

Not really. Last I checked, all Sonly players required musicmatch. Its proprietary and windows only.
