"Podcasts on the iPod 'iPod touch' cannot be synced ....?????

I'm getting a "Podcasts on the iPod 'iPod touch' cannot be synced because all of the podcasts selected for syncing no longer exist" pop-up when ever I sync.
Here is a post that seems to addressing the same type of error message for a failed music sync but after reading it I'm not making any sense of how it might relate to the a problem with a podcast sync: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1788041.
In a reckless attempt to fix the problem I deleted all the playlists which I created in iTunes, then deleted and resubscribed to the podcasts, and then did a sync. But the error still occurs and no podcasts were added to the iTouch (even though the newly resubscribed podcasts are in iTunes on my PC). I also found that I could download a podcast directly to the iTouch without having to subscribe to the podcast in iTunes. But I'd rather be getting the podcasts via the subscription feature that is in iTunes and then syncing them to the iTouch.
Any ideas what is going on ?
Thank you.

After reading your post several times, I think I understand what you are saying, but can we just check the precise sequence of events, for (let's say) one Podcast episode?
Are you:
1. downloading the Podcast in iTunes;
2. Syncing the iPod and therefore placing that Podcast on the Touch;
3. Listening to the Podcast and then using the delete facility _on the Touch_ to delete that Podcast from the Touch;
(3A. Adding more Podcasts (and/or music) to your iTunes Library;)
4. Performing another Sync and getting the message "Podcasts on the iPod 'iPod touch' cannot be synced because all of the podcasts selected for syncing no longer exist"?
Step 3A may or may not have occurred, it's not crucial. What is important to find out from you, are you deleting Podcasts on the Touch?
Phil
Oh, and by the way, if new Podcast are no longer being transferred to the iPod, has the setting for syncing Podcasts been changed? Look on the Podcasts pane when you connect the iPod to iTunes.

  • IPod touch cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes Library

    Hi, I have just transferred my whole iTunes library from my old computer to my new one and am trying to sync my iPod to the new one. However I get an error message saying "iPod touch cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes Library (additional 5.38GB required). I currently have 8.5GB free on my iPod so I don't understand why it cannot sync.

    Hey Georgiarose94, If what's going on, is what I think it is, when you sync the information it's over written, it can take 2 to 3 times more space the get the info on your iPod, once it's there the info only occupies the space it needs. Kind if of like moving, when you first step in the room with boxes of stuff there's no room. But after you get everything put away all is well. If you haven't already, connect your iPod to your computer, from your iPod Summary page, go down to Options and check reduce bit rate to (select 128 kbps). (Wording maybe a little different). Will greatly reduce memory space needed on your iPod, and you really do not hear the difference in sound quality. Other option, go to music and select manual so you can pick which music you place on the iPod. You need to reduce by 5.38GB of information to finish your download. Hope this helps. Cheers.

    Hello Lizzyr Lizaryd,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
    Try reformatting the iPod using *Disk Utility*. For instructions on how to do this, see this Apple Support document.

  • "The iPod ... cannot be synced because there is not enough free space.."

    I moved my iTunes library FROM a Win 7 32bit HD to a new Win 7 32bit HD.
    On the old HD  iTunes  uses 145GB of HD space.
    On the new HD iTunes uses  145GB of HD space.
    On both instances of iTunes I have selected "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC"
    My iTouch is a 3rd gen. 64GB unit.
    In the past I would only take 75% of the available space. Now I am short 22GB.
         What am I missing?
    TIA,

    Appears to be fixed.
    Moved all music recorded at 128bit or less to different location.
    Moved video files to different location.
    Synced sections of iTunes collection individually: Only Music, then Podcasts, etc.
    Seems to be working fine.  Apps also came over without changes.
    ????  Only thing missing is my PLAYLISTS.
    ????    Someone know where they reside on my old HD list and why they did not come over?

  • HT2553 My ipod classic 160gb cannot be synced by my windows vista. the library is copied alright but cannot be synced into the ipod; HELP! !

    My ipod classic 160gb cannot be synced by my windows vista computer. The library is copied alright, but the ipod cannot be synced; Help! How can I overcome this, please?

    Hi, Chris,
    I mean, when I load my itune library as usual and the syncing starts, I get the problem as described as follows;
    When I try to sync, I see the songs being copied then I get a message, say after about 45minutes, that, itunes cannot read the ipod contents because the ipod data drive is corrupt. I have tried different things to no avail. It is very fraustrating, and if I may say so, very disturbing.
    I hope somebody can help me, for I can see now that, many people have got similar problems and they haven't been able to solve. I understand this is a common ipod problem and many people have had to abandone their ipods after such problems. It is very hurting because ipods are very expensive to buy, and so to write it off like that is very dis-heartening.

    Locate the photos folder which is selected for syncing with the device and delete the folder iPod Photo Cache inside.

  • The iPad "My iPad" cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to.

    Since updating iTunes to 10.5 (running on OS X 10.6.8) I get this error message at the end of syncing for 2 different iPhones and an iPad 2:
    The iPad "My iPad" cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to.
    Everything was fine before, and the sync seems to still be happening. The disk is actually readable and writable, and not full. The ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup folder write date is getting updated.

    I am having the same problem with an older black and white 40 gig ipod. I had a new hard drive installed and using my Power Mac G5 running 10.4.9, where I keep the music library, I am unable to install more than 2 gigs of music. I have done the restore and it does not help. I get the same error message everytime. I was successful in syncing a new 80 gig minutes later!
    Any suggestions?

    I have just purchased 2 songs and I went to sync my Iphone 3G and I get an error 13019.. the iphone "my name" cannot be synced. I have tried.. removing voice memos (I have none) remove all music.. syncs fine.. if I choose to sync music I get the error help..
    I have tried everything and now I dont have one song in my Iphone since it doesnt want to sync music because I get this error...
    by the way I have tried this
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2830
    and I have tried restoring the iphone...

    I translated..

  • IPod Touch "cannot be synced. The required disc cannot be found."

    Yesterday, I bought 3 CD's (yep, the physical kind) and today I ripped them into iTunes on my 24" iMac (with my usual custom settings, 256kbps, stereo, 44,100 KHz, with error correction on). I had synced my iPod Touch earlier this morning. Then I went to sync my iPod Touch (2nd gen., 32GB) to get the new albums onto it (it had about 3GB of space, so shouldn't have been a problem, I thought).
    However, my iPT and/or iTunes (10.3.1) started getting flaky on me. I got most of the way through syncing, but when iTunes starts transferring my Music back onto the iPT, after several tracks had been transferred to the iPT, I get a message "The iPod "[iPod's Name Here]" cannot by synced. The required disc cannot be found. When I click on the OK, iTunes shows "Finishing Sync" and then says OK to Disconnect. (?) So I try it again (several times) - some times I notice that the iPod's screen shows "Sync in Progress" even after the error message appears and I get the OK to Disconnect message after that - ? - and another time, the iPod screen (partway through syncing the music, but after syncing the apps) just goes to the charging icon with no message about syncing. I tried restarting the iPT with the 'silver' Apple logo and all - still getting errors. After some of the problems, I disconnected the USB cable from my iMac and tried unlocking the iPT's screen with my password, and then things looked sort okay - except none of the new songs show up in the Music part of my iPT.
    Thinking the iPT's timing out on me, or maybe has a bad cable, I switch to a newer cable I got, but I'm still having same kinds of problems and cannot get the new albums onto the iPT. By the way, the songs play fine within iTunes, so no indication that they are garbled or such.
    It's beginning to feel like my iPod Touch and/or iTunes are ptiching a fit because I didn't buy these albums from the iTMS. Verrrrrry frustrating!
    Jim R.

    Are you also syncing photos? If yes, try to delete the photo cache folder, explained in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314
    If this does not help, see this article for more suggestions: "Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod or "Firmware update failure" error when updating or restoring iPod

  • IPod touch cannot be synced error 13019. What do I do?

    I manually manage all songs and info on the ipod touch. Nothing is selected to sync automatically. I have no voice notes, there are no podcasts, only a bunch of songs I'm trying to put on my ipod. When it is plugged in, it shows up under devices in the sidebar. I click and drag the playlists/individual songs I want to add to the ipod, and they appear under the name of the device in the sidebar. I then get the 13019 error message, and even though the songs or playlists appear when the ipod is plugged in, they do not appear on the actual ipod device. I have no voice notes or podcasts that could be messing with it - deleting these and resyncing have been the solution I've seen most often. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Try:
