Podcasts play one at a time?

Last night was the first real night of using my nano since I got my crystal film. So I was listtening to my podcasts while trying to fall asleep and discovered that, unlike with my shuffle, the podcasts on my nano are categorized into individual subscription folders and therefore once a single podcast plays, it stops. How do I get my podcasts to play one after the other? Is there any way to create a podcast playlist into which I can put them all?

Well thanks to GolfSierra's explanation, I successfully created a smart playlist so my podcasts play sequentially. But I was just wondering now whether it's normal that in addition to my playlist, the nano shows the purple podcast icon in the playlist with all my subscriptions? It was there before which is fine but now when I go to listen to my podcasts on my nano, it's annoying because the word "podcasts" shows up in a couple of different levels - one representing the top level subscriptions and then another one reflecting my smart playlist - and it gets confusing about which one is which.

  • Shuffled podcasts played one at a time

    I created a smart playlist with Podcast equals true. When I play it in shuffle mode, it plays just one podcast at a time. It simply stops after each track. If I play the playlist without shuffle, it correctly goes from podcast to podcast.
    This is just a bug, isn't it? Or is there a way around it? Did Apple actually intend it to work this way?

  • Sound to play one at a time

    How do I make a command saying:
    if sound is playing - dont play sound, else, play sound?
    so that the sound effect only plays one at a time. So if holding down SPACEBAR for example, the sound will play and only after the sound finishes, can it loop if SPACEBAR is still pressed.
    Thanks in advance.

    Ok, I'll just copy and paste the relevent parts: (This is for a car-racing game)
    onClipEvent(enterFrame)
         HAND = Key.isDown(Key.SPACE)
         if (HAND) {
            speed  *= handbrake
            //sound
            var screechSnd:Sound = new Sound();
            screechSnd.attachSound("TireScreech");
               screechSnd.start();
            // SKIDDIES
            if (speed > MAXskiddisplay) {
            steer = steer_handbrake;
            if (!skidding) setLastpos();
            skidding=skid(HAND);}
            traction = handbrake_traction/surface; }
        else {
            skidding=false;
            traction = Math.max(traction_max, Math.abs((speed-MAXturnSpd)/surface))
            steer = steer_normal }
    So basically, when the handbrake (spacebar) is pressed, the handbrake effect will be applied to the car and it will skid (which works), but the problem is I also want a sound to play when it spacebar is pressed.
    The sound does play, however, when pressed, the sound plays many times over at the same time, rather than letting the sound finish for the sound to repeat itself again (if spacebar is still pressed - that is).
    Thanks again in advance

  • I have music in the cloud but only plays one at a time, anyone have any idea how to solve this please?

    I have music in the cloud but only plays one at a time, anyone have any idea how to solve this please?

    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
    iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    You may have t opurchase one.  Some only do a limited number of transfers without paying.
    - Make a backup of yur iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPod under devices in iTunes and selecing Backup.
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.

  • Podcasts in a playlist only play one at a time instead of in seq

    I just got a 6G nano iPod.
    I have smart playlists that include my favorite podcasts in reverse time sequence.
    When I play from this list, only one episode at a time will play.  After the episode completes then the iPod goes back to the playlist where you can manually select the next podcast.
    This works fine on my 3 or 4 G (I don't know which it is) nano.
    I want to play all the podcasts in the playlist one-after-the-other without stopping playback.

    I have smart playlists which have Media type "Podcast" and Play Count = 0.  These playlists were only playing one song at a time.
    The solution that I found to the problem was to
    connect ipod
    goto ipod in devices
    select podcasts
    select sync podcasts
    DON'T SELECT AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDE ALL EPISODES OF ALL PODCASTS
    Scroll down to Include Episodes from Playlists
    Then select all the smart playlists that include ipod episodes.
    This means those playlists are copied to the ipod and they play in order.
    It doesn't seem to matter whether or not the playlist is selected as well under the Music tab.

  • Songs will only play one at a time

    After updating iTunes, using the last update 7.6.2, it will only play one song at a time and stops. It will not play continuously through a playlist. Am I missing something in the setting? Any suggestions?

    Are there check marks beside all the songs in the playlist? Unchecked songs have to be clicked on individually to play them, checked songs will play one after the other. If you hold down the CRTL key and click beside any song in your list then all the check boxes can be toggled on or off: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows

  • Exclamation point but songs play one at a time?

    I wish I could say that after all these years I am smart enough to navigate iTunes...
    My setup is as follows:  iTunes library is located on a Mac Mini, a couple of Macbooks on the network use iTunes and point to this library.
    Almost every song in my library shows an exclamation point next to it on the Macbooks.  However, if I double click on any song it WILL start playing.  Once the song has played the exclamation is gone, but iTunes will not play the next song on the album, it plays the next song without an exclamation.
    One thing to note.  I take the Macbooks off the network to other places almost everyday.  When I return this starts all over again.  I was told once that I should close iTunes before I leave, so I have been doing that.  Doesn't seem to make a difference.
    Questions:  Can I get rid of these exclamations somehow once and for all?  If not, is there a quick way each day to just highlight the whole library and press something to get rid of the exclamations?

  • How to play one clip multiple times at the same time?

    I am writing a little game where a certain sound has to be played quite frequently. I load it as a Clip and play it with
    myClip.setFramePosition(0);
    myClip.loop(0);If the sound has to be played again but is still being played by another event, the setFramePosition() method resets the sound and the first playing instance is cut off.
    A workaround would be that each object that needs to play this sound would get its own copy, but that is not feasible due to heavy memory consumption.
    So here it goes: How can I play a single sound multiple times at the same time? Is that possible?

    So here it goes: How can I play a single sound multiple times at the same time? Is that possible?Ummmm, if you're using a clip, you'll have to maintain one copy per object that needs to play the sound concurrently. You could keep one master copy, and then create copies of the clip as necessary to play them, and then just dump the copies to decrease memory consumption.
    A second idea would be to write your own Clip class. Esentially, all you would need to do is dump some sound data onto a TargetDataline to play it. It'll handle the buffering and playing at the correct speed itself. If that's all you did, you should be able to dump multiple times from the same instance and play it multiple times.
    Obviously, that's just a theory. In practice, it may not work that way...

  • Making PodCasts play one after the other...?

    They will repeat indivigually (sp?) but not one after the other.
    Any help would be nice!

    If you create a playlist of the podcasts that you want to listen to, then play the playlist, that might work....it does on the iPod.

  • Can only play one podcast at a time

    Hi,
    I have just upgrade from a 3g iPod to a 5g. On the older iPod I could pick a podcast and it would play all the episodes one after another. Now it will only play one at a time and shows 1 of 1 in the display. I can see 5 episodes if I actually go into the playlist. My Nano does the samething.
    Is there a setting I am missing that can change this?
    Best wishes
    Michael

    Well now I'm doubly .
    Steve, did you try playing a Podcast episode in List view? I ask, because after Creydon's last post I  read, re-read and read it again to make sure I wasn't imagining things. Consequently I tried playing some Podcasts.
    The results are odd, even after re-booting my computer.
    In List view:
    Started a Podcast episode playing.
    Checked the Up Next list. It was empty - not what I expected, but I'll go with the flow.
    At the end of the episode, the following episode began playing. This makes no sense to me, if the list is empty, why does another episode begin? If this is expected behaviour, I did not realise that the Up Next only dealt with music, not Podcasts.
    Turned on Shuffle, then turned it off again before the episode finished.
    When this episode finished, a further Podcast began - at random! This also makes no sense, particularly as the Up Next was still empty. iTunes was in Shuffle mode, and was shuffling Podcasts!
    Turned Shuffle back on and this time, left it on.
    At the end of the episode, iTunes stopped. At last, expected behaviour!
    As I'm sure you are aware, by default iTunes sets all Podcasts to Skip when shuffling, so in Shuffle mode, once a Podcast finishes, since all the others are set to skip, iTunes should stop. But if Shuffle is turned on then off again, iTunes mistakenly plays Podcasts at random, even though Shuffle has been turned off! Surely, this is a bug?
    At least though, it is possible to make iTunes play one Podcast episode, then stop, (as I expected, so not a bug at this point!). Simply turn on Shuffle (and leave it on).

  • How to download new podcasts one at a time?

    Hello,
    can anyone tell me how to download new podcast episodes one at a time? I have a slow 70k flatrate and iTunes starts all downloads at the same time, so most of them stop because they are too slow. So I have to klick each episode manually. Instead, I would like to leave my PC for one hour, and then all the podcasts should be there.
    Many thanks,
    Danny

  • Still playing one song at a time

    My ATV2 is still playing one song at time with album selected. All songs are checked. Albums are separated by artwork and different artists on the same album. My old first gen ATV works fine and so does my iPod. I shouldn't have to fiddle with compilations, etc. to fix. HELP!

    Are you using the latest updates for atv and itunes?
    Have you tryed rebooting the atv by disconnecting the power?
    Have you tried rebooting your computer that has the itunes account?
    Are you sorting the albums on the atv by album or by artist?
    Is your computer set to sleep after a short period?

  • Ipod 4th gen does not play music from list automatically. just plays one and repeats it.

    ipod 4th gen does not play from list automatically. it just plays one at a time and then repeats it until i select another.
    how do i set it to play all on playlist?

    On the left side of the Now Playing screen right below the scrubber bar is the repeat control. It is the arrowed racetrack icon. Tap the icon until it is white for no repeat.
