Podcasts played on iPhone don't sync with iTunes on my Mac

Sometimes my played podcasts on my iPhone do sync to iTunes, sometimes the podcast on iTunes is still marked as new and transfers back to my iPhone as unplayed.
What are the actual steps I need to take to ensure that my played podcasts are transferring to my iTunes as played with a Last Played date?

I haven't noticed the issue with music, but with podcasts it is very noticable and annoying. Basically, it seems as if the iPhone is sending no information during the synch. Podcasts I have listened to and have been automatically deleted are re-added as soon as I synch. Has anyone tried unchecking the synch podcasts button on iTunes? I'm tempted to try it and see if the podcast app handles everything solo.

All podcasts disappear from iPhone whenever I sync with iTunes

I have a very annoying issue whenever I sync my iPhone with iTunes.
I download all podcasts on the iPhone directly, never in iTunes. But I still want to sync music etc. with iTunes.
I have not checked the checkbox for sync of Podcasts in the Podcasts tab, but everytime I sync the iPhone, all podcasts on the iPhone are removed. Why is this? This is not very consistent with how the rest of sync works, I have also left sync for Applications unchecked, and this does not result in all apps disappearing from the iPhone.
Has anyone else experience this?
Btw, I am using iTunes on WinXP, at work...

Try resetting your Sync Services. See here to reset your sync services.

Playlist changes on iPhone don't sync with iTunes?

Whenever I make changes to an existing Playlist on my iPhone, the changes are wiped out when it Sync's with iTunes on my computer? What can be done to prevent this?

As mentioned in my initial message the problem is not having double entries on iPhone but that entries and changes made on the iPhone are not reflected on the Apple units.
However, Just for the sake of it I followed your advise, which actually resulted in double entries on the iPhone. Luckily I could resolve the double entry problem on my own but I am back to square one.
I made the following tests:
1. New entry in address book on iMac: it shows on MobileMe and after a while on iPhone. After 1 night the entry is still available on iMac, MobileMe and iPhone
2. New entry made on MobileMe: it shows iPhone and is still there after 1 night; it does not show on iMac; after a while it disappears from MobileMe
3. New entry made on iPhone: it does show on MobileMe but disappears after a while; it never appears on iMac; after a while it even disappears from iPhone where I made the original entry.
Somehow it looks as any entry or change needs to be made on iMac as it seems to have overruling power over all other devices.
What do I expect:
1. When making a new entry on any Apple device (iMac, MacBook, iPhone, MobileMe) the new entry will show automatically on all devices and stay there
2. When I make any change on any device, that the change will be shown on all devices and stay there
3. That all devices show always the latest change made on any device, never mind on which device the change was made.
Those expectations are standard with Blackberry. My understanding is that those features are provided for with MobileMe or am I mistaken?

hi, i have a problem. My Itunes not see the phone. Windows do it but not itunes.

I've got exacly the same problem, I've just reinstall my windows, install just firefox and itunes to try if it works now. My Windows see iphone correctly but itunes don't recognize it. Sometimes itunes is starting when i plug in iphone but it don't show iphone on list. iphone is brand new from shop and it work with my sister macbook and father iMac. My system see an iphone as a photo camera and i can browse my photos but nothing more. Is somebody know how to sync iphone with my itunes?

IPhone don't syncing with iTunes

When I connect iPhone 3G to MacBook, iPhoto and iTunes opened and begining syncing.
After a few seconds, iPhone continues syncing but in iTunes disappear...
This happened with OS 2.2.1 and OS 3.0 in iTunes 8.1 and 8.2, but I only have this problem after create a Mobile Me account.

Hi, I updated my iphone's software to ios7 but can't update Itunes to 11.3 as my is Mac software is 10.5.8 (needs at least 10.6). I can't sync my iphone to itunes now because of this- I can't afford to update my Mac software so i am wondering if there is an alternative?
If I restore my iphone to its factory settings, would that bring it back to the older software that was on the phone? Thanks in advance!

With iOS 7.0.4 Notes on iPhone don't sync with Notes on iPad

I upgraded both iPhone 4 and iPad 2 to iOS 7.0.4.
With iOS7 my Notes on iPhone don't sync with my Notes on iPad.
In both devices I have set iCloud ON for Notes.
In the Notes App I selected the iCloud Account.
But when I write a new Note on iPhone 4 it doesn't appear on iPad 2 and viceversa.
How can I fix this bug?

You can't go to icloud.com using Safari on your iPad, you have to go there using your computer. If you didn't do so, try going to icloud.com and check your notes using your computer browser.

My iPad or iPhone will not sync with iTunes. I have googled it and none of those suggestions worked. I don't see the device listed in the sidebar or on the top. It doesn't recogonize the unit when I first plug it in as to what I want to do. I have shut it off and turned it back on but nothing happens. All the software is up to date.

Is synching over wi-fi viable? I've never done it, but when I tried something similar back in the old Palm PDA days, it was S-L-O-W, slow as molasses. I realize that the i-device are far more modern with faster processors, but wondering whether it's even worth exploring doing this.

First off try and go into your IPhone manually through My Computer and cut photos or anything you can through the device to be able to free space up so that you can continue to do what you want to do with ITunes. This way you will be able to create a backup or do what you have to do to manage your information, photos and texts on your device a little better.

In short. No, you cannot unsync. If you had a back up from your old iPhone you cand restore from a back up.
In iTunes go to Edit > Preferences > Devices > and select the latest back up.
Before you synced your phone did you have it set up with the PhotoStream or iCloud? The pictures would be saved there. Or if you had them sync to a file on your computer.
