Podcasts skips to the next podcast before it is finished

Hi - thanks for your assistance!
For months my podcasts skip to the next podcast before it is finished, this happens dozens of times each week, with hald a dozen publishers.  It happens with all different podcasts, it cannot be corrupted files, due to the diversity of sources, it happens dozens of times each week.  It happens with major publishing houses in Australia and Amercia, all these different sources cannot be consistently corrupted for month and month.  My itunes is on automatic updates, so the program is up to date.
Josh

The problem seems to be resolved. I clicked on the cloud icon next to the podcast and downloaded it from the server and it's working fine now.

  • Certain songs in iTunes skip to the next song before the song ends

I purchased Incubus and Weezer songs a while ago, and when trying to listen to the entire songs with iTunes for Windows Vista, the songs skip to a different song/artist for some reason before they end. I then played at least one of the songs on my iPad, where they are already in my iTunes, and did not experience that particular problem for some reason.
Also, I don't know if it matters, but I almost always use shuffle mode when listening to music in iTunes.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the problem tracks from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • Some of my recently downloaded albums skip to the next track before the current one is complete

if anyone has had a similar problem/solution, i'd be interested in assistance.
    thanks

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • While running how do I get my podcast to play one song and move to the next and not skip to the next after a few seconds into the song?

I recently started running and downloaded the Couch to 5K webcasts, while running how do I get my podcast to play one song in it's entirety and move to the next and not skip to the next after a few seconds into the song?  I beleive it's the motion of the running that is causing it, is there a setting I need to change?

    Hello nowrunning,
Is the "Shake to Shuffle" option turned on in your iPod's settings?  To check, head to Settings -> Music -> Shake to Shuffle and make sure it is set to Off.

  • Podcasts skip to the next episode randomly

    (6G iPod Classic 120GB)
at random times, my podcasts skip to the next episode (if there's another episode to skip to), equivalent to hitting the right scroll button. it happens during random times. it may happen 20 minutes into an episode, maybe 5 minutes, maybe 45
minutes. it seems very random, and it's driving me insane. this does not happen when i'm listening to regular albums/music files.
i've already done restores. i've re-downloaded podcasts. i've done the iPod's inbuilt diagnostics test. i've done the diagnostics test through iTunes. i've even run windows' scandisk (just the scan, not the scan + fix). nothing works. please help me.

Any info on this? It's becoming extremely frustrating.
I play a podcast, then it decides to just play the next one down the line. I'm guessing it's a connectivity issue thing - it runs out of buffer then decides to play the next thing down the line.
Please PLEASE help us find a solution. Between the terrible iTunes podcasts app and now this, I'm really disappointed in my Apple products.

  • Anyway to not skip to the next podcast?

I listen to quite a lot of Podcasts, and have noticed that when it gets to the end, it'll go straight to the next one, but say I'm going in reverse chronological order, and I listen to the oldest Podcast in a series, it'll then jump and play the most recent one straight after, which makes it really difficult to work out which ones I've listened to and which ones I haven't (yeah, I've got heaps of Podcasts unfortunately :P)
Is there anyway around this? And set it not to skip to the next podcast? Thanks

Unfortunately, I'm having the same problem. The iPod should mark which ones you've listened to. My problem is that I just want to play a list of episodes from oldest to newest and I end up fiddling with the iPod when each episode ends.
Hopefully a future firmware upgrade will fix this.

  • After my last Iphone update many of my songs in my library play and 10 to 20 seconds before the song ends skip to the next song.  Whether I play it on my computer or on my Iphone this occurs. Can any body tell me how to fix this???

Since my last Itunes update my library of songs has many songs that stop short of the finish and skip to the next selection.  It is that way on my computer and also on my Iphone where I normally play the songs.  Same repeatable stop with the particular song that is affected.  How do I fix????

Unless you've done anything to change it, Google keeps every email that ever passes through their server in your All Mail folder/mailbox/label. Even if you delete stuff, they hold onto it, there. You have to go out of your way to actually delete anything permanently.

  • IOS6 Headset / Headphone "Skip to the next chapter" & "Return to the previous chapter" functions don't work in the Music App

"Skip to the next chapter" & "Return to the previous chapter" functions don't work in the iOS 6 Music App when listening to Podcasts and Audiobooks through Headsets (Apple & 3rd party), Speaker Docks, and in my autos handsfree bluetooth system (Ford Sync).
Listening with the Podcasts App allows "Skip" and "Return" to work. So, this is either a bug or Apple is forcing the use of the Podcast App to get the "Skip" & "Return" controls. All the other headset functions work as designed.
I listen to news Podcasts in chronological order. In iTunes I set up smart playlists sorted by release date for the podcasts. The Podcast App doesn't support playlists therefore I need to use the Music App.
Is anyone able to get "Skip" and "Return" to work in the Music app?
    Thanks for any insight!

  • TS1425 My iPod Classic was working fine all day.  Came home and uploaded to voice memos via iTunes, now there is no sound coming from my iPod.  I've used both headphones and a docking station.  The songs don't even begin, they just skip to the next one.

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Have you tried resetting the PMU?
I'm not optimistic that this will help any more than the procedures you've already tried, but it won't hurt to try.
Do you still have your OS 9 installation? If so, try booting into OS 9 and see if the problems with the audio are happening there, too. If so, you can bet it's a hardware problem.
How big is your hard drive and how much space remains available on it? If you don't have your OS 9 installation in order to check out whether it's a hardware problem and you have enough available hard drive space, you may want to try an Archive and Install of the OS in order to make sure it isn't an OS X system-wide problem. If that doesn't do it, you could back up your hard drive and restore your software.
All of this may just be spinning your wheels, but it's all stuff you can try before shelling out a lot of money for repairs.

  • 4 albums purchased from iTunes yesterday have songs not playing all the way through. They play for a period of time and skip to the next song. Everytime they are played. Can anyone help?

Some songs I purchased last night are not playing all the way through. Several songs from the 4 albums I purchased play for a period of time then just skip to the next song. The songs that do this, do it everytime they are played at the exact same spot. The songs that are affected skip to the next on iTunes on my PC which is updated to the most current iTunes and my 160gb iPod classic. Everytime they are played at the exact same spot. However on my other device, iPhone 4s all songs play just fine. I have almost 7,000 songs on my iPod and this has never happened before and I have played it awhile since downloading those albums yesterday. This is only happening with the albums purchased yesterday. Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong?

I'm having the same issue with a few songs I just downloaded. It skips randomly in the middle of the song.

  • I downloaded a song and i tried to listen to it but it will only play the first half of the song and then skip to the next song.

I downloaded several songs successfully to my ipod nano (5) but this particular song when i tried to listen to it would play for the first half and then skip to the next song in the playlist like the ipod thought the song was over.

Did you download from itunes? If not, some websites save the song too quickly or in a format that glitches.
I've had this problem before with both itunes and non itunes purchases, try deleting it and re-downloading.

    Hi bibijc!
I have an article here that addresses your issue, and can give you some helpful troubleshooting steps for resolving the issue:
    Troubleshooting songs that skip

  • Skipping to the next song half way through...

Recently iTunes has started skipping to the next song when playing sometimes. It doesn't seem to be at set times, and if I go and replay the track it doesn't do it again, so I don't think it is an issue with that particular file, or the stop time. It is fully up to date (I updated it today, and it has done it before and after the update).
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

hi, if this is also happening to specific songs on your ipod and on itunes, then you have to check the songs. right click on the song on itunes > get info > options and then check your End Time if it's displaying the time (in minutes or seconds) of the song where it will be ending. or try to restart your ipod by pressing the menu button and the center button together for 6 seconds, and if it didn't work out then try to restore your ipod through itunes (make sure that all you music and files will be deleted during restoring your ipod to the factory settings) good luck

  • HT203167 I bought a song using an I-coke credit and it only plays half way through then it skips to the next song??

I recently bought a song on I-tunes using an I-coke credit, the song only plays half way through, before it skips to the next song, does anyone know what is going on and what I can do to fix this??

Remove the song from the device either by using a computer or on the device itself.
You can redownload any song that you have currently purchased for free through itunes on a computer or iOS device.  After deleted attempt to redownload the song.
Follow instuctions here to download a song onto a computer or here on a iOS device.

  • I download exclusively from itunes and I have been having issues with the music stopping after about 25 seconds either skipping to the next song or just going silent and still moving as if it is playing? how do i fix this?

I have an ipod nano, classic and Iphone4s...i download itunes, it says it is completely downloaded, i go to play it either on my pc or on one of my devices and it plays about 24 seconds of the song and skips to the next song. Sometimes it continues to "play" as in the timer is still moving but there is no sound or picture...how do i fix this? It is really frustrating...i let it go with one or 2 songs but when it is everything I download any more I'm getting fed up. I tried going into the info on the song and options and making sure it didn't have the stop time changed (the solution that apple support gave me) Any solutions? I want to actually listen to the music I download!!!
