Podcasts won't play on computer.

My podcasts in Itunes 11.1.3 will not play on my computer (Windows 7). All audio is garbled. Audio settings are on spoken word. This has been occurring since ITunes 11 first version. Podcasts play fine on Ipod and Iphone. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not able to help, just chiming in that I'm getting the same issue as far as podcasts not syncing, however mine aren't even loading into the podcasts folder in my library
They are audio MP3's as the normal subscription for this particular TV show only has a handful, though the rest are available on their archive of past episodes by "right" clicking and adding to iTunes.
Any suggestions?

  • Video Podcasts Won't Play under 7.3.2.6

Just installed new itunes and quick time and numerous previously downloaded and newly downloaded video podcasts won't play. You can see the opening frame on the small screen at bottom left if you click but when you try to play, the screen goes green, purple or other color and starts to vertically roll (like old tvs used to do) with foggy images. Strangely other video podcasts (old and new)do play. One example of podcast that does not play is Photoshop Killer Tips; one that does play is Adobe Photoshop Quick Tips.
Computer has plenty of space and has been cleaned of temporary files, defragged, etc.

And this is when going to videos-->video podcasts, right? Do they even show up there at all?

So you are able to sync these podcasts over to your iPod Classic?  Would you be able to post a screenshot of one of these podcast's Summary tab of its Get Info window in iTunes?  Be sure to blank out the Apple ID fields and any personal informaiton shown on this tab.

  • Movie won't play on computer say quicktime is incompatible

downloaded purchased movie won't play on computer say quicktime is incompatible. I get this message for Hannibal Rising: This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes.

First, thank you for taking the time to respond.
This is the recorder I have: Sony DVD Recorder & VHS Combo PlayerRDR-VX515:

The specs stated that it does record MPEG video.
The Mac mini is a super drive w/ + & - capability. I guess I'll have to buy another recorder to get this to work.

  • Video won't play on computer

I have the latest Itunes on my computer, but my movies won't play and the trailers won't play on my computer.  Anyone know why?  Thank you.

  • DVD from PE9 won't play in computer let alone another DVD player

I produced a 7 minute video in HD. I can play it on my computer either as HD or at standard res from files produced via the "Computer:Export files..." on the Share menu. I need to produce a standard NTSC DVD and when I burn using the "Disc: Burn DVD..." I get a message that the burn has been completed successfully. Yet the DVD will not play on my computer if I reinsert in in the same drive I just used to burn it, and won't play in a regular DVD player either. The computer doesn't even see the disc if I search for it. I've read a lot of stuff about DVD-Rs and booktypes and bitsetting but this doesn't seem to apply here since the computer can't read its own disc. Burning a copy of the files burned to folders doesn't work either. The DVD burner burns everything else just fine. I am using DVD+Rs. Would it make any difference if I used DVD-Rs? Or is there anything else anyone can suggest? I am using Windows 7 Professional. Thanks.

    >burning to a folder
If you are able to write (not burn) the folder structure to your hard drive, you may use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc
Put a commercial DVD in your drive and take a look with Windows Explorer to see the folder structure and the types of files... and make sure what you write to a folder from PE is similar

  • Video podcasts won't play, cause ipod to freeze

    Hi there,
My 5.5g ipod won't play video podcasts. I've downloaded several different ones, made sure the "TV Out" is turned off, and played with several other settings, all to no avail. When I open one from the video>video podcasts menu, the screen goes black, sometimes it says "Loading" with the little "play" arrow in the top left corner, and that's all I get. It freezes, and I have to reset.
I've also tried restoring the ipod to factory conditions, which didn't work. The podcasts play in iTunes, so that's not the problem.
    This thread
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8969818&#8969818
also seems to describe my problem, but I can't find a solution there.
Anybody have any ideas for how to fix this? Thanks!

It's up to the producers of the podcast whether they make their video podcasts iPod compatible or not. It's certainly not a requirement for an iTunes Podcast feed which is, perhaps, unfortunate. You could try sending the producer feedback but even if they take any notice it won't affect podcasts you've already downloaded. The *Make iPod compatible version* rarely works (somthing to do with whether audio & video are separate or multiplexed to start with). I suggest you download SUPER which is capable of converting almost anything to an iPod version. You have to navigate through a bunch of links before you get to the actual download, but it is there - just ignore the links to other commercial software on the way, SUPER is free.

PS. On my current setup SUPER generates the odd error message while running but still produces a working output file...

  • LIBRARY WON'T PLAY ON COMPUTER

I bought a new PC and installed iTunes. Then synced iPod. My library shows up gray but won't play on my computer.

Sync is one way, computer to iPod.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.

  • Music won't play on computer & most won't transfer to ipod..

It's a long story but I have a new laptop (see spec below) and a new ipod (40gig, click wheel). I've transferred my music from dvd backup to the new laptop and managed to transfer over most of it to the new ipod. However only about half of the music has transferred over (and I haven't purchased that much)..also the library on the new laptop won't play any music on the computer or allow me set up new playlists. The computer is showing over 11gb of music, the ipod is showing 4.82gb. I'm getting an error message that says that "some of the songs in the music library including (names a song) were not copied to the ipod because they could not be found. I also got a message to say I wasn't authorised to play particular tracks (the ones I have purchased) on the computer but I don't know how to authorise them...I'm sure I'm doing something really dumb...can anyone help? Thanks

You may need to de-authorize and re-authorize the computer again. However, the exclamation point next to the tracks means the music file is not located in the default iTunes library. You need to steer the iTunes program to locate its library to the folder where your transferred music is kept. The iTunes library can any folder you choose beside the default location in the My Music folder in My Documents.

  • Podcast won't play on pc

Ever since I downloaded the latest iTunes version (Ithink it is 11.1), podcasts will not play on my PC.  They play fine on my iPhone and iPad...but, not on my PC.  I have tried unsubscribing and resubscribing and reinstalling iTunes...nothing works and it is all of my Podcasts (I listen to about 8).
    Any suggestions?

  • ITunes video won't play on computer!

I don't own an ipod or anything and was under the impression that iTunes was a place to legally buy videos and music even if you didn't have an ipod.
So I bought Comedy Central's Roast of Flavor Flav, to watch on my computer. However, it just skips snd stops and the audio is out of sync and the quality is terrible. This is when it is played with iTunes or Quicktime. When I play it with VLC or media player classic etc, it won't even play at all. And I have K-Lite Codec Pack installed!
    Any help would be appreciated

  • Podcasts won't play in iTunes or in iPad/iPhone

Hey so I'm having a lot of trouble getting some of my Podcasts to play,
My university records and saves lectures online through echo360 and last semester I was able to set them all up as podcasts so they'd come to my ipad/iphone and laptop! I tried to set it up to do it today and it wouldn't work. After hours of extensively looking through forums/discussions on here, I found this one:
Re: Why won't my podcasts play in iTunes?
Which seems to address a similar problem. After looking into it, it seems as though my university has changed the link from being http:// to https:// and perhaps that's why it's not playing?
So my main question is, is there any way around this/any way to change it from https to http to make it play? Or, alternatively, is there any other explanation that could be responsible for them not playing?
Sorry, I'm not very tech savvy and not sure if I've worded this very well but it's worth a shot!
    Thanks

The current (nearly) all 64-bit version of iTunes doesn't integrate with QuickTime. If you have content that needs QuickTime on your system then uninstall iTunes and all supporting components, then install the version of iTunes found here: iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) and reinstall QuickTime. The "for older video cards" release is a 64-bit installer for the core 32-bit iTunes application, similar to all 64-bit releases of iTunes prior to 12.1 and will work with QuickTime.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates if you have problems uninstalling or reinstalling components.

  • IWeb video Podcast won't play music on PC and crash iTunes.

I used iMovie to make a picture slideshow and added a mp3 file I got from a CD I own. I shared the slideshow to iWeb as a podcast with iLife06 and it built a page for it on my .Mac account web page. I published it and it went to the server flawlessly. I subscribed to the podcast on my Mac computer and it came into my playlist and played great. The problem came when I went to the website on my IBM PC. I at one time used it to hold the music for my iPod. I subscribed to the podcast, downloaded the slideshow to iTunes, and when I tried to play it on the PC I got a weird noise that would not stop. I had to control Alt Del to get it to stop. I am running the latest version of iTunes on both computers.

ensure that you are navigating to the video
correctly. The correct path to a video podcast on a
    5th gen ipod is /videos/video podcasts/*insert
podcast here*. I assume that you are attempting to
    access the podcasts via /music/podcasts/*insert
podcast here*. If you are accessing the podcasts
through the music menu, the podcast will show up, but
only the audio will play. If you access it through
the video menu, both the audio and the video should
    work.

  • IPhone 4 music and podcasts won't play

my iPhone 4 is having a problem with sound.
I use the Alarm Clock app and recently the speakers on my phone won't work so I can't hear my alarm. Coincedentally (?) when this happens I cannot play music or podcasts from their apps as well. The play button just flashes and nothing else happens.
The only fix seems to be to turn the phone off and back on.
    Is this an iOS problem?

Since turning the phone off and back on solves the problem I guess it's a software matter.
Try a reset (hold sleep / wake and menu until the phone restarts) and see if it fixes.
Eventually you can try a software restore. If the problem persists it would be worth to go to an Apple Store or contact Apple Care.
