Pogo games on Mac Pro

Does the Mac support flash player for full version of pogo games

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Of course. You can download and install Flash Player from the Adobe site > http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer After installing Flash Player, I recommend you to restart your computer.
I do not recommend to install Flash Player unless you need it, because it has got a lot of security problems. This is the reason why it's important to keep it updated

  • Java update for OS X 10.8.3 to run Pogo games on MacBook Pro

My wife purchased a 15" late 2011 MacBook Pro last year to replace her PC. She loves her Pogo games. Recently, everytime there is new OS update, the Pogo games won't work, needs Java. So we have to wait for a new Java update to resume playing her Pogo games. I read the Apple Support  about the Java threats and how serious they are to the Mac community. I understand but. What can you/we do to get this resolved to get the Apple approved Java update so I and many Pogo games users get to use Pogo games again and soon? Please help!

I went around and around with this last night and here's what I found…
Even with the latest version of Java installed, the plug-in is still disabled by default.  I could not figure out how to enable it via system preferences or Safari's preferences, but I knew it was indeed installed and working because I could use Java via Firefox with no problems.
Here is how I was able to enable the plug in.  Go to http://www.javatester.org/version.html  At the top of the page you will see "Inactive Plug-in" if Java is not enabled on your Mac. Click on the "Inactive Plug-In" and you will be prompted as to whether you want to run Java.  Click Run.  It will appear to hang up loading java with the loading "circle".  Refresh the browswer, select Run again, and voila!
Head on over to Pogo and enjoy!  If anyone figures out how to enable the plug-in via System Preferences or Safari directly, please post here...

  • Playing Windows games on Mac Pro?

I'm giving my son my Mac Pro 3,1 2.8 gig dual quad core machine. He wants to play Windows games on it. How does one set that up? Also, he wants to upgrade the video card to the ATI 5770. Does he buy the one for Apple or Windows, and does he need special drivers? I'm getting a new Mac Pro 12 core. Thanks.

you will want Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (System Builder is fine, $139)
    Radeon 6870 3DMark 30% gain on 5870
ATI Radeon HD 5870 Graphics Upgrade
    Radeon 5870 vs 5770 GTX 285 4870

To see early startup you want an Apple compliant card. To play games you may be fine or want something more, depends on game and what level of performance.
You install Apple drivers and all the normal Windows gpu and other drivers.
    And Microsoft Security Essentials.

Ah, didn't you already try or install Windows? seems like you did at least try? No?

  • Downloading game on Mac Pro

I bought a mac download game off of amazon and as I went to install it and the following message pops up:
The following disk images could not be opened:
    Image: CallofDuty4.dmg Reason: Invalid checksum
I was told I should change or edit my permissions but I do not know how to do that. If someone could help that'd be great.

Boot to your Installer DVD (10.4.7 minimum for Mac Pro 1,1) by holding Alt/Option key at Restart.
Ifyou cannot get the DVD in the drive, wait until the display has settled down and the wait-cursor disappears and press the Eject key to open the drawer, then close the drawer and it should resume and eventually show the DVD.
Answer only the "what language" question and DO NOT PROCEED to Install. Wait a quarter minute for the MenuBar to be drawn, and choose Disk Utility off a menu. Select your Macintosh HD Volume and (Repair Disk).

  • Windows, games on mac pro

I am looking for some input about running windows on a mac pro and playing games under windows , for example steam games? Will the games play as good as on a pc? Anyone with experience with this?

  • Upgrading Mac Pro (Rev1) Video card to 8800GT - Win XP OK?

    Hi all,
I have a Rev1 Mac Pro with the ATI X1900 graphics card. I'd like to order the Apple upgrade to the Nvidia 8800GT for better performance running games in Windows.
Currently, I have an XP SP3 Boot Camp partition. I've read some posts about problems users have had with the 8800 upgrade under XP.
Can anyone confirm that the 8800 upgrade will work under XP, or if I should switch to Vista? I'm anticipating sticking with DX9 unless that would make a difference in terms of compatibility.
    Thanks for any advice!

You can use any PC card for Windows only. I know there were problems in the past with XP drivers, but don't know if that is still true today (I'd be surprised, it is after all basically G92 series card, which is very common).
Personally, I think Vista 64-bit just makes more sense with Mac Pro at this point, more RAM, dual cpu, and it isn't like you don't have the power to run or that they would run poorly on that hardware.
Might give you some ideas games on Mac Pro running Vista:

  • 24" iMac any good for games (compared to Mac Pro)

    Hi,
I'm on my second Mac Pro and after no end of trouble so i'm hoping to exchange it for a 24" imac but i was wondering if it's any good for games?
I would probably configure it with the 7600gt and maybe the 2.33ghz proccessor.
My mac pro with the x1900xt ran Quake 4 and Doom3 etc at full stettings really well but i've just had to much trouble with it!

The iMac would be fine for games for now, but you are stuck with the configuration that you purchase as there is no way (for now) to upgrade the video card.
There is a thought that some OEMs might make an upgrade card, but as of now there are none.
The big advantage of the Mac Pro is that it has the PCI-express video card that you can remove the stock card from and add a newer, better card.

You'll need a Mac with a support OS X and tools to complete the process.

  • Game does not start after installing on mac pro

Game does not start after new install on mac pro ?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

  • Game controller for intel Mac pro

Any suggestions for a game contoller for an intel Mac pro? I've had no luck with tatieboggle or with the Logitech f710 wireless. Running latest system. Thanks!

For three years I have been trying to get a reliable connection with the F710 for each OSX update. The macgamepads.com and tattiebogle.net solutions do not actually work for extended gaming experiances. In short OSX is lacking REAL controller support. And as long as I have had my Mac Pro it has always been that way.
There is a reason why people don't play games on Mac. I have a SSD drive dedicated entirely to Windows 8 Bootcamp because playing even the most simplistic game on a Mac is a god **** nightmare. You want the F710 to work? Get a PC or run Bootcamp - DON'T PLAY GAMES IN OSX.

I just bought a new mac book pro. I would like to access all my purchased games for mac that I made on my iMac. How do I do this?

Use the Migration Assistant(it'll put the data into a different user account if you've already created one), or drag them and their data through Ethernet, wireless, Target Disk mode, or through an external drive, or reinstall them from the original source.

  • Can i play pogo games on a new mac ?

can i play pogo games on a new mac ?

Yes,There Are Ways You Can Play Windows Games On A Mac,It`s Called The W.I.N.E. Project And The WINE Project Allows You To Operate Windows Programs On A Mac And Linux System.Remember That The WINE Project Can Be Unstable At Times,And May Cause Your Mac To Freeze Up.The Best Way To Play Windows Games On A Mac Is By Using Something Called VMware Unity. It`s An Emulator That Can Emulate 3D Windows Games.Below Is Some Instructions On How To Get It And Set It Up.
    -------VMWare Unity
1.Go To The Official Vmware Website And Go To The Vmware (Mac) Section.
2.Find The VMware Workstation For Mac And Download It.
    4.After Downloading VMware,Install It.
    5.Open Vmware Workstation
6.Before You Create A New Virtual Machine,You Need To Have A Clean Copy Of Windows XP Or Higher.
7.After That,Create A New Virtual Machine That Has Enough RAM And CPU To Emulate The Game You Want To Play.
8.Start The Virtual Machine And Install Windows.
9.After Installing Windows On The Virtual Machine And Your On The Windows Desktop,Install The VMware Additions.
10.After That,ALWAYS RESTART THE VIRTUAL MACHINE.
11.Install The Game You Want,Have A CD or ISO Image.
12.After Installing The Game,Start The Game In The Emulator And Look For A Button That Says "Unity Mode" And Click It.
13.After That,All The Applications You Were Running In The Virtual Machine Will Go Right To Your Mac Dock And You Can Play The Game Right On Your Mac Desktop.
14.When Your Finished With Your Game,Close It And Open The Main VMware Application And Click "Stop Unity" And It Will Restore All Programs To Virtual Machine Desktop And There You Can Power Off Your Virtual Machine.
Vmware Is Way More Stable Than The WINE Project And I Suggest Trying That.If You Need Some Help With This On Your Mac Then Add [email protected] To Your Contacts And I Can Help You Set It Up On TeamViewer.I Hope This Helps And Tell Me If It Does!
