Point domain to subsite

I need to point my domain name to a subsite instead of the root site. Ex. I want
www.mydomain.com to point to myrootsite/subsite.aspx

this is not possible with the AAM settings or IIS bindings. SharePoint only Support the Site collection level using the Host name site collection.
Due to maintain the Hierarchy between the site collections and subsites that's why.
you have two options,
1) create a new site collection
using HNSC. and move the data from subsite to there.
2) Create separated IIS Web app with Index.htm page which point to
myrootsite.com and
this page redirect to myrootsite/subsite.aspx.

I am not sure weather it is achievable or not. Can someone help me here please?
I want to deploy more than one cross domain policy in the farm. Let suppose, www.mysite.com/crossdomain.xml(master- permission for complete site including all subsite.)

Unable to point domain to BC

I cannot point the domain to my Business Catalyst account. I've tried adding the Name Servers to the GoDaddy page. But they do not show the website after I've connected the domain in BC and the NameServers on GoDaddy. I have photos, but they will not attach to this case.

checked and it had also included the records:

GoDaddy would not allow me to delete them,

IWeb - pointing domain name to MobileMe host

Hi - I have been working to direct a domain name purchased through godaddy (mygodaddydomainname.com) to my mobileme website (web.me.com/myname/myblogblogname), where I'm publishing a page using iweb.
The goal is for someone to look under the (mygodaddydomainname.com) name and see the site built with iWeb and hosted at (web.me.com/myname/myblogblogname).
You would think it was simple but I am having difficulties.
I followed the cname instructions in support at Apple & at GoDaddy but it isn't working. Does anyone have any good ideas?

This Apple document tells how to configure your MMe account for CNAME forwarding: Setting up MobileMe to use a personal domain name. Then follow GoDaddy's instructions for their end.
If you don't want to use CNAME forwarding but just the standard forwarding you don't need to do anything on MobileMe's end. At GoDaddy it will look this this:

You can either choose with masking or not. Masking will only display mygodaddydomainname.com in the URL window of each page. The downside to that is that visitors can only bookmark the first page of your site. That may or may not be a problem with your site. My tutorial site is set up that way: http://toadstutorials.info.

I study jms tutorial in chapter 4,and i have a question.
In the Point-to-Point example,i send two message(1,2),and then
i send two message again(3,4).
Now,i start SimpleQueueReceiver to receiver the message,
it will show 3,1,2,4 in this sequence,but why?
Why not 1,2,3,4
Is it a queue?
Could you help me?

Ordering of messages is not guaranteed in case of multiple receivers.
This is so with single client also. But Most servers deliver the messages in the order it arrives.

Point Domain Records

I would like to be able to use os x server over the internet. I know how to get a static ip and ssl certificate, but when i purchase my domain name, what do i poit each of the servers to? Thanks for the help

Are you using NAT on your network? If so, you'll need local DNS services, and your server will need a static IP on your private network.
As for the rest of the configuration, I've written a few overviews of the general requirements for various folks asking similar questions; here's one and here's another and another and here's static versus dynamic.
Basically, your public DNS translates into your static IP, and your gateway-firewall-router box must then be configured to port-forward (sometimes also called "virtual server") TCP ports 80 and 443 to your OS X Server; to map the incoming connections from the public static IP address to the private static IP address.

( REPOST ) WLPI 1.2.1 & WLS 6SP1 Domain/server configuaration

I have installed WLP 1.2.1 & WLS6SP1 on Sun Solaris. WLPI creates default domain
"wlpiexampledomain" under wlpi dir. Instead of using default domain name created
in wlpi dir, i'd like to use domain under WLP6SP1 dir. Can i do this ? If yes,
How ?
I am able to change domain name under wlpi dir by changing domain name & server
name in server.sh file. I can't move/point domain it to wls6sp dir.

Hi Subash,
I tried the same installer on a 32bit machine and was able to run without any issues.
I did however come across a few users jdeveloper users who had similar issues with the jdev installer and the following workaround seems to have solved the issue for them. coudl you try the same and let us know if that helped ?
1. Extract "oepe-12.1.2.1-kepler-installer-win32.exe" file into C:\oepe-12.1.2.1-kepler-installer-win32
2. In cmd go to C:\oepe-12.1.2.1-kepler-installer-win32
3. Execute follow command:
C:\PROGRA~1\Java\jdk1.6.0_31\bin\java.exe ( path to your JDK) -jar install/modules/ora-launcher.jar DISKCNT=1 JRE_COMPONENT=oracle.jdk,oracle.jre

Domains All Showing Default Welcome Landing Page

When setting up Web services I am unable to get Server.app to point domains at their corresponding directories and actually work. I choose the websites directory, but every domain shows the default welcome page in the browser. I am wanting to host several different domains on my one server, and cannot for the life of me figure out why this is happening. I believe it boils down to a DNS issue, but not sure how to resolve it. Can post screenshots/logs, etc if necessary.

I don't think this is DNS at all - the fact that all your URLs hit the server implies that DNS is working just fine.
Instead I'm more likely to think it's a flaw in the web sites' configuration that's preventing Apache from properly mapping the request to the preferred site.
This sounds a lot like the old * alias problem where the default site was configured with a wildcard, meaning it matched all hostname, and therefore maked the other hostname-specific sites on the server. So check there first.

I cannot log onto website using Pluck server blog software.

Pluck is server software from pluck.com. It is used on blogs and forums websites. It manages these websites. I am unable to log onto one of these websites as the log on hangs with Firefox. If I change to IE, I can log on. The log on is inconsistent in that the process stops at different points when different subsites in the domain are employed.
By simply closing Firefox and opening Internet Explorer, I can log on. Pluck is described at www.pluck.com .

Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left then open the Library folder then the Caches folder.
Move the com.apple.appstore and the com.apple.storeagent files from the Caches folder to the Trash
From the same Library folder open the Preferences folder.
Move these files Preferences folder to the Trash: com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist
Same Library folder open the Cookies folder. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the MAS.

Publishing Multiple Web Sites

I purchased IWEB 09 so I could publish multiple websites through mobile me. Do I need to purchase an upgrade to mobile me to be able to do that?

Yes, I am trying to use multiple personal domain names.
You can use one CNAME pointed domain name per MobileMe account. It goes to the topmost site in the iWeb site organizer. You can use URL Forwarding for as many other domain names as you want, pointing them at the appropriate MobileMe sites web.me.com/username/sitename.

How to create web hosting infrastructure

I am fairly new to MS Azure Services and would like to create my own web hosting services. My current site is "shah63.com", but i want to setup infrastructure that would allow me to add more sites by pointing domain to ns1.shah63.com and ns2.shah63.com.
Also, i want to add storage (that stores wwwroot )and database instance to the infrastructure.
Please provide me brief steps on what Azure services do i need to enable / aquire, and forward me any article or tutorial link, if available.

Do I need to run local DNS server for NAT/DHCP to work?

I'm coming across all kinds of explanations how to set up a server for public access, having a static IP and a pointed domain, but I have a dynamic public IP and don't need the server to be accessible through a domain name. I just want all the computers in my office to connect to the web over 1 cable connection. I've used Gateway Setup Assistant to set up NAT and DHCP and DNS and what not, but it didn't work out of the box. After some bootpd.plist fixes I now have DHCP working, it's handing out IP addresses, but all LAN connected machines cannot get onto the web, only the server can.
What am I doing wrong? Should I configure my DNS server differently? Or should it not be on at all, couldn't the local machines use my ISP's DNS servers?
Currently DNS is configured like this:
Settings are:
accept recursive queries from the following networks: localnets
forwarder IP addresses: (empty)
Zones are:
private. primary zone
134.23.24.in-addr.arpa. reverse zone

Though still a valid question for others I guess, I got my DNS working. The network preferences didn't have external DNS servers configured for the local network interface.

You can try to IS-Insurance to suit your domain experience. However, if you look at major SAP Implemented insurance companies adopted SAP ERP and custom according to their need. So, getting a breakthrough in this IS solution would be very hard.
Again, if I come back to your question on BFSI point domain experience. I have my friend who worked in Top 5 BFSI company in India who transitioned his career in SAP SD (studied in SAP Authorized institute and got a job through campus in CMM Level 5 company) because he has BE + MBA. This story was happened 8 years back. But I don't know the current trend in India.
SAP SD is best and it will suit as I saw already a guy went through the same path. Also, check SAP CRM Sales or Service.
You can wait for other members comments who may be transitioned from BFSI sector to SAP to give some ideas.

WLC in a non-Cisco network

I'm planning to use a Cisco WLC 5508 in a non-Cisco core network (switch and routers) and I'm wondering about the problems I can have.
For the moment, I can only think that I can't have CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) in the new core network (access switchs are cisco).
So, do you need CDP to run a Cisco Controller Based WLAN?
Maybe for Rogue Switchport tracing? Anything else?
Can I use a WLC connected to a non-Cisco core network?

Cisco wlc's do not use LACP, LAG is non-negotiated, just on. 5508 also require 1g ports, it will not connect to anything less than this.

As for LWAPP/CAPWAP, you will need to make sure that if yo uare going through a firewall that UDP ports 12222/12223 for LWAPP and UDP port 5246/5247 are not blocked. You can use option43 on your DHCP server for the APs to find the controller.

LAP's are unable to join Cisco WLC

Dear all,
I have moved my WLC to my datacentre from branch office. after movement i have updated DHCP options with the new ip address but all of my access point are not joining to WLC.Kindly check the attached cofiguration of WLC as well as LAP logs and It will be a great help if somebody can help me to relsolve this issue.
Please note that for datacenter - Branch connectivity we are using L3 MPLS line and there is no firewall between the office and I am using Ver 7 software on my WLC

The AP cannot guess this name so this means that it can communicate with the controller.
You do not need to configure DNS
Your DNS server is not configured with CISCO-LWAPP-CONTROLLER.localdomain. But you do not need to configure DNS since you already have a working option 43.
If you want to use DNS you should configure both CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER.localdomain and CISCO-LWAPP-CONTROLLER.localdomain, where localdomain is the access point domain name. Old software use LWAPP and new software uses CAPWAP.
What might cause the problems?
I believe that you have a certificate mismatch between the controller and the AP. In order to fix this you can manually add the AP to the AP authorization list.
In order to allow APs to join, use one of these options:
Add them to the authorization list of the WLC: use the config auth-list add mic command.
Add them as clients to the RADIUS server. The Called-Station-ID is the MAC address of the controller. If you separate the APs into groups, you can create policies to define which APs can authenticate against which Called-Station-IDs.
Debug
You can debug to see what’s happening when the AP tries to join the controller.
You can also use this debug to obtain the Ethernet address for the AP:
