This solved my questionRe: How the heck do you get points on your apple support communities account?
Jul 12, 2013 10:20 PM (in response to BMPU)
To get points, you have to answer questions. If the user that created the post tested your solution and it worked, he/she (may) give you a "This solved my question". As you can see in the right part of this page, a solved question adds 10 points to your account. If you helped solve the problem, you receive 5 points. On a single thread, the original poster can only give 1 "This solved my question" and 2 "This helped me", so you can receive a total of 20 points.
With these points, there are levels that you can see in this page > https://discussions.apple.com/static/apple/tutorial/reputation.html When you level up, you receive privileges like report posts, access to Community Calls... The most important level respecting to privileges is the level 6, that gives you access to a special forum called "The Lounge" (where you can talk about anything you want, complain about an user or report problems with the forum), and you also receive gifts from Apple and other privileges

  • Quick, easy Logic 7 Pro AudioInstrument Question!  You'll earn quick points

I still have 6 Pro, and am about to upgrade to 7 Pro.
Is it true that AudioInstruments, such as EXS24 and ES1 and ES2, etc., no longer have the option to toggle between EDITOR and CONTROLS from a pull down tab at the top of the Instrument pane (you know, to the right of Bypass and Instrument # buttons)?
I could have sworn that I saw that option omitted from 7 Pro screenshots, am I correct? If I am correct, is there still some kind of way to view the parameters in the CONTROLS display? I have found that display very useful in certain situations! Thanks!

I'm only responding in the interests of actually earning a point.
The answer to your question is no, it is not true.

  • Question about points earned on gaming consoles

I am confused about how the gamer's club unlocked works.  The Best Buy site says that my Best Buy members get 1 point per dollar spent.  The Gamer's Club Unlocked details says you get points on gaming consoles.
I purchased an Xbox One Assassin's Creed bundle for $299.99 on 11/8/14 and 299 points are pending in my My Best Buy account.  That doesn't seem to me like I am getting any points for the console purchase; it seems like I am only getting points for the dollar amount spent in the store.  If this is the case, why even mention that the Gamer's Club Unlocked membership gives you points on gaming consoles?
I purchased a cell phone and received the Gamer's Club Unlocked membership on 11/8/14.  I was told the membership was effective immediately.  This seems to be the case, since I received the 10% bonus discount when I traded in a video game during the same visit.  I purchased the Xbox One Assassin's Creed Video game bundle with a free Xbox live gold membership on 11/8/14 during the same store visit.  I actually made three transactions: one to buy the phone/gamer's club unlocked membership, one to trade in the video game, and one to buy the xbox one console bundle.  The cell phone/gamer's club membership transaction happened first.
Should I have received additional points for buying a gaming console?

    Hi kre1997,
Regrettably, no -- Gamers' Club members do not earn any additional points for video game consoles. My Best Buy Elite and Elite Plus members still receive their respective bonus points for these items though, as do My Best Buy Credit Card holders for purchasing them using their card. For more information though I'd encourage you to check out the two pages:

  • About legend  I was wondering if you are supposed to try to earn points

    just wondering

Are you wondering about what these "points" are all about?
If you solve someone's question, and the original poster marks the post as "solved", the poster of the solution earns 10 points to their account. If they were helpful (may not have resolved the issue, though), and the original poster marks their post as "helpful", that poster earns 5 points to their account.
As you have seen, on the right panel of this thread, there's a "level" system, which depends on how many of these points one earns.
I know, you may have known that already; just laying that out, just in case.
What exactly is your question about points?

  • Why do paid Apple employees earn forum points & rankings?

Why do paid Apple employees earn forum points & rankings? I thought the points system was "to increase community participation". Giving points to people paid to be here and putting them in the rankings runs counter to that intent.

    Hi, Jason -
No, I'm talking about the people with the silver Apple badges whose profiles say they're Apple employees.
At least some of them are paid to be in here, maybe others aren't and just come in here to be helpful on their own time, I guess I don't know. If you're paid, you don't need encouragement.
The only Apple employees who are paid to be here as their primary job function are the Hosts, the ones who display the purple apple badge.
Other Apple employees may post here. Usually it is on their own time, at which time they may or may not identify themselves as being an Apple Employee - if they do, they then display the silver apple badge.
On rare occasions Apple employees may post in an official capacity in order to address a specific need, but (historically, at least) this does not occur on a regular basis.
Yikes, I'd assume a company employee could provide useful info on the company's products. If an Apple employee doesn't give useful info...I hope that's someone who isn't working at Apple for long.
Apple has a broad and diverse enough product line that no one employee can possibly know it all.
Since most of the time a person who is identified as an Apple employee is posting on their own time, I see nothing wrong with thanking them the same way anyone else would be thanked.

  • Best amex for points earning ?!

I already have a amex ED and a amex hilton (no fee) ... Ive always wanted to have a amex green since i was child , i dont know why . Now as a grown up i realize it doesnt really offer anything ., it doesnt even have the same "exclusivity" as it hAd when i was younger since now they will take amex in dollar general lololol ... I was thinking PRG ., amex starwood or the mercedez benz credit card (the credit card not the MB platinum charge)

Amex PRG is the way to go, IMO.  With the new changes that became effective June 1st, 2015, you get:3x MR on Flights2x MR on Gas2x MR on Groceries2x MR on Restaurants1x MR everything else.0% FTF <- big change While the annual fee is $175, you also get a $100 voucher each year to apply against airline fees/costs. So if you travel even somewhat regularly by plane, then Amex PRG is a very good deal. The $100 voucher essentially drops it down to $75 AF, thus beating even the CSP. PRG definitely has a lucrative rewards structure now, especially with 2x on restaurants which I absolutely love.  The Starwood is nice because Starwood points, arguably, have the greatest value. However, it is extremely difficult to earn those points as opposed to the PRG. So unless you travel internationally and/or stay at Starwood member hotels all the time, you're going to have a hard time racking up points in the same way you can on the PRG. So since your question is about the best amex for points earning, I think it definitely has to be the PRG.Some of the information you provided here was incorrent and I don't want it to mislead the OP. The annual fee was increased to $195 when they added the new features. Also, you do not recieve a voucher for $100 each year, it can only be used towards 'incidental fees'.This was pulled from their website:"Airline tickets, upgrades, mileage points purchases, mileage points transfer fees, gift cards, duty free purchases, and award tickets are not deemed to be incidental fees".The credits are automatically applied to the card after these extra purchases so I would only consider it useful if you want to use it towards things like baggage fees etc. It cannot be used to airline tickets but Amex have been known to credit for airline gift cards.  Although it is in their terms they it doesn't qualify, so it is upto the agent if they approve it.I would only recommend if you travel quite a bit. I regret opening my Amex Green but will be replacing it with the PRG in the next month or two when I hit both my CSP and Freedom spending requirements. I am excited to utilize the $100 airline credit as I travel back to the UK once a year and domestically every now and then too so it will handle my in flight wifi costs, in flight food and also baggage costs.Woops, my bad. Thank you for the correction on the AF. And you're right about the $100 waiver. However, people have successfully bought $100 in gift cards, directly from the airline, and Amex has reimbursed the cost. I successfully did it for Southwest. You just gotta make sure you select your specific airline on Amex's site beforehand. I know, as I said, it's really up to Amex so I would not count on it! Chase for their Ritz card used to be the same way, granting airline gift card credit for their $300 annual travel credit. Both companies recently I have noticed are cutting down on this as it is obviously costing them money becayse everyone is doing it now. So chances are airline gift cards will be strictly a NO soon. It's really too bad using the credit for a gift card is so iffy, otherwise I would ditch my green card in a heart beat and app for the PRG.  I don't travel often, but saving up airline gift cards for a few years for a nice trip would be sweet.  However it's not worth the risk for me, since if I ordered a gift card and it *wasn't* eligible, it would then be as if I had lost $200, which would be painful. Looks like I'll have to just stick to my Green. To me PRG, EDP or ED is better than green card in every way . I mean ED> Green imo in almost every way. unless you really want a charge card for some reason.

in which world? in my opion the best reward i could get for asking a good question is getting that question answered.  I could care less about 5 or 10 points when im trying to finish an imovie project, but i'll happily give them to the person who helped me out.

  • New earning points policy!!!

I haven't used my Best Buy credit card in about a year because I save my big purchases for it. I like to pay off the purchases before I get another one. Needless to say when my tv broke and I needed a new one,of course I would go to Best Buy. I like using my card having time to pay off the purchase and get points and certificates so I can spend MORE money in the store. Come to find out you changed the policy so not only could I not get 18 months or 24 months no interest, I don't get my reward points because I chose to do financing. I spend over $1000 and I can't get my points cause I didn't choose standand credit?!!!!!!! New policy is not only a joke but it works AGAINST you! Instead of me getting points to get a certificate to go into a store and spend more money,I'm now thinking about WHYnot go somewhere else cause what can Best Buy offer me that another store can't!!!!!  Best Buy you really messed up this time!!!

Good morning mochamom519, and welcome to the forum,
I can imagine you may have had several questions after noticing that your recent purchase was awarded zero points.  As you have heard, a change to the program terms went into effect that says a My Best Buy™ member can either select standard financing and receive 5% back in points (6% for Elite Plus members) OR promotional financing and receive zero points (base and bonus).  This change went into effect almost a year ago on 7/31/2013.  While the purchase may not qualify for points, it should still count toward reaching Elite and Elite Plus status.
I appreciate you taking the time to sign up for the forum and voice your concerns regarding this change to the program.  The feedback you have provided, along with the feedback from our other members, will be made visible to upper management so that it can be properly reviewed.  I want to see if there are any other potential questions that I can help answer, so I will be sending you a private message.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope icon located at the top of the page.

  • How do I earn points and level up?

I am still stuck on level one, when others are at level TEN. How do I level up? Please help me. And when can I report a post?

Reporting posts comes at level 2.  But do not abuse it, please.
Answer questions, folowing terms of use (see ink below).
The OP (original poster) decides who gets "Answered" and who gets "Helped".  Sometimes you disagree with that judgment, but such is life.
You cannot ask for points, just hope they are given.

  • Drop Downs  (or how to earn 10 easy points)

I'm following the tutorial for building online interactive form, which describes how to use different ui elements in Adobe Interactive Forms. One of the sections describes how to populate a drop down with values from the web dynpro, but I can't get that to work. When pressing the arrow next to the drop down the system think for a couple of seconds but doesn't show anything.
(When I try to use the ready-to-use project  the drop down works fine, but when I try to built my own drop downs it doesn't work)
Is there something else I need to do beside use the Value help drop down from the WD platte and drag the requested node from the data view onto the drop down.

    hi,
The thing you are missing is you need to put some script in the script editor:
    somethng like this
    var jsToExecute = "event.target.SAPValueHelp(\"" + this.somExpression + "\");";
    app.eval(jsToExecute);
on that particular drop down. And also check whether the binding that you are giving is correct like $record.PersonalData.Department.
Hope this would solve your problem
    Thanks,
    kris
