Pointer gets hung up at the edges of the screen during gameplay.

When I try to play any game on my powerbook my ability to look around is inhibited by the pointer getting hung up at the edges of the screen, leaving me with a limited amount of movement. Also, when the pointer reaches any of the assigned hotcorners it enacts the setting; causing the game to hide, or the screensaver to turn on, etc. I haven't found any information addressing this, so if anyone knows of anything that can solve this I'd appreciate the help.

The Sky sound effects are annoying as well. Just because another broadcaster that I don't have a subscription with does something that's annoying, it doesn't mean I shouldn't be peeved off about stupid stuff that BT does.
I do actually watch the game. The problem is that team news is taking up a decent chunk of the screen during the last 10 minutes of the game I'm trying to watch. I care about the game I'm watching, not the team news that I could have found out on my phone, laptop, or numerous other devices 30-40 minutes before BT showed them.

    I tried to give you this solution before, but maybe you missed it. This simple procedure will mask out all the various sponge edge-artifacts. Here it is in simple steps:
    1. Make the path shape you want to apply the sponge effect to.
    2. Highlight that path, and select Object > Path > Offset path ... choose +2 points (or whatever works for your drawing scale, to ultimately eliminate the outside line and the artifacts) -- this will make a slightly larger shape, based on the original shape.
    3. Cut the outside path (command or alt-X), select the inside path, and paste the outer path BEHIND the inner path (command or alt-B).
    4. Apply the sponge effect to the OUTER path.
    5. Highlight BOTH paths, and create a MASK (command or alt-7).
    Now you have your original shape, with sponge applied, and the outer 2 points (or whatever your Offset Path was set to), are masked out, masking out the outside line and the sponge artifacts.
    This works with any Document Raster Effect Settings dpi.

    I am using Iphone 5. SInce the last 3 weeks the phones has been acting weird. on dialling a call it get hung on disconnecting it stays on the call ending screen only. this happens for atleast 5 to 7 minutes and then it gets to normal or the other way is to turn the device off and then turn it on. the phones also running slow and therefore at times becomes very cumbersome. a few of my friends have also been having the same problems.
    I have taken the phone to the service outles but the best they did was to reboot the phone it works fine for a day or two but again the same issue.
    Can anyone share any info on it?

    I'm glad to hear that they replaced your phone. Any experience I have had with Apple customer service and/or Genius bar has been extremely positive. While I have had positive outcomes from trouble with other phones in the past, they are not as quick and  friendly. I had a Motorola phone and a Samsung phone go bad several years ago and warranty work through AT&T required that I wait for a replacement unit and then mail back the original unit to keep from being charged for the device. This usually meant almost a week without a phone. Nice to walk into Apple and walk out with a replacement device. Enjoy your phone.

  • Why does my image not reach the edges of the page when printed, but appears fine as pdf?

    Why does my image not reach the edges of the page when printed, but appears fine as pdf?

    Check a printable area of your printer.
    Make a (grey) rectangle that is larger than the paper size. Print it,
    you'll get a message that some cropping will occur, that's okay. Then take a
    ruler and measure the dimensions of the rectangle printed on the paper or
    the white borders around the printed rectangle.

  • Why do background clips show at the edges of the frame?

    Disclaimer, I'm brand new to video editing... this may not be a bug or even a problem for others, but it's annoying the crap out of me right now.
    If I have 2 clips on the timeline that overlap, the edges of the frame let the lower clip peek through.
    It is especially noticeable when the top clip (the one I want to be actively playing) has a black background, and the clip underneath (that should not be visible at all) has a light colored background. The result is a white border about 1 pixel thick all the way around the image. Why does it do that?
    Note in the attached image the thin white border around the frame when played back at actual size (720p) in full-screen mode. The worst part, is that the white border is actually a moving image itself, and so it flickers and draws a lot of attention to itself.
    I know the simple answer would be to go in and cut out every single shot perfectly, so there are no overlapping clips at all. But that seems ridiculous to me. I like having handles to slide transitions around. What's the point of having a clip heirarchy if it doesn't even work?

    Scale up the image so the edge is cropped off.

  • How do i desensitize the edges of the screen for ease of holding

    Mini iPad issue

    You can't desensitize the edges of the screen. Hold the iPad by the bezel - the border around the screen. Better still, place it on your lap (that's what I do) or get a stand or a cover that acts as a stand as well (have a couple of those) and use it that way.
    You want the screen to respond to touch - in every corner of the screen. You might need that in an app that you are using and it for want to use the iPad in landscape as opposed to portrait mode - you want that sensitivity everywhere on the screen.

  • Anyone know how to resize a window in an application that has "grown" beyond the edges of the screen?

    Suddenly in Illustrator, the workspace window is too big: it extends under the application menu bar so I can't access the top and move it, close it, or minimize it. The sides and bottom extend so far out to the edges of the screen that I can't access the resizing corner. Help!

    Thanks, Mort, I tried that, but it didn't work...maybe because I was already in the highest resolution?
    I saw advice to someone whose itunes window was too large. They suggested applescript code:
    tell application "Adobe Illustrator"
      set bounds of window 1 to {296, 97, 1394, 996}
    end tell
    I replaced iTunes with illustrator, but got an error message:
    Adobe Illustrator got an error: Can’t set window 1 to {296, 97, 1394, 996}.
    thanks!

  • How can I make the edges of the JSC component curved?

    It is a very common practice to make the edges curved in web development. Curved edge looks attractive and professional. (for example see blog.com)
    How can I make the edges of the JSC component curved? For example, consider Textfield component, how to make the the sharp edges smooth and curved?
    Thank you very much.

    Follow the steps below implement rounded edges for tabs in a tabset component:
    1)Create 2 images: level1_selected.jp and level1_deselct.jpg to be used as the background for these tabs. Thse images can be easily craeted using windows paint software. Just ceate a rectangular image of size 200X30 and draw a rounded rectangle on it.
    2) Redefine the following styles in your application stylesheet(originally defined in css_master.css)
    .Tab1Div td.Tab1TblSelTd {
         background-color:#EDF5F8;width: 200px;height:40px;background-image:url(images/level1_selected.jpg)
    .Tab1Div td.Tab1TblSelTd {
         background-repeat:repeat-x;background-position:left bottom;border-bottom:none
    .Tab1Div td {
         background-color:#EFEBEF;width: 200px;height:40px;background-image:url(images/level1_deselect.jpg);border:none
    .Tab1Div td {
         background-repeat:repeat-x;background-position:bottom left
    a.Tab1Lnk:link, a.Tab1Lnk:visited {
         display:block;padding:8px 15px 0px;font-weight:bold;text-align:center
    Results: By doing this you'll have the selected and unselected tabs show up with rounded egdes and also the selected tab will look bigger than the unselected tas making it more prominent.

    Ibán,
    Apply the Picture Frame effect in Pages V4, then paste into Pages V5.
    It's inconvenient, but then many things are in Pages V5.

  • Scan does not cover the edges of the page

    I am making a PDF of an edited xerox manuscript and the handwritten editorial comments sometimes go very near the edge of the page. The scan cuts off a margin around the whole page which removes or truncates some of the comments. I can't reduce the size of the original since it is a xerox copy on which the edits were made. Is there any way to scan the entire page up to the edges of the page?

    Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
    I am not entirely sure you can do so.
    I will tell you why and then I will offer a bit of hope if there is a way...
    Your printer has a margin restriction:

    If you have not already done so, you might try the following:
    Install the Full Feature Software for the Printer
    Use the Printer Assistant to Scan to Document
    Set
    Scan Size - Entire Scan Area OR Custom
    The Custom size might work although it is tough to work with the small scale available.

  • My early 2011 MacBook Pro 15" non-glare display has developed a dark band at the edges of the screen approximately the same width as the aluminum surround. This wasn't present when the MBP was new. Am near an Apple Store, but anyone else had this problem

    My early 2011 MacBook Pro 15" non-glare display has developed a dark band at the edges of the screen approximately the same width as the aluminum surround. This wasn't present when the MBP was new. I'm near an Apple Store and can take the laptop in, but has anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks for your input. I didn't completely flesh out what I'm seeing visually. The resolution settings are all correct for my screen. The problem is if, say, looking at the gray startup screens or a completely white full-screen image, there is a perimeter of graying, almost as if the LEDs are somehow not as bright as the rest. It's also curious that the thickness of this phenomenon is almost exactly the same as the metal bezel around the display. I will be taking it to an Apple Store for a look, as I'm also having several minor hardware problems that need to be addressed and remedied.

  • IMac gets hung up on SoftwareUpdateLauncher when doing the Maverick 10.9.2 update this morning.

    After software update from the AppStore it hangs up during the reboot process in SoftwareUpdateLauncher.  Must do a hard shutdown to recover.  It reboots under old OS version but is still looking for the the reboot to complete the update which always hangs when shutting down.  Applied the update to my MacBook with no issue.

    Hello fordste
    If the update did not take and are stuck with continuously trying to update, then the next step would be reinstall the OS X Mavericks to get it sorted out.

  • Is it possible to print a full page in Illustrator and bleed the art off of the edges of the paper?

    Is it possible to bleed artwork off the edges of an 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper? I'm trying to print cards that are 2 up in landscape orientation and the art keeps  getting trimmed off an inch or so before the edge of the paper.
    RIchard

    Have you checked your Page Tiling?  (View>Show Page Tiling)  The border that you see will show you how it prints.  But you can save your file as an Illustrator PDF and then open it with Adobe Reader and given that your printer is borderless . . . you can print to the edges.  But a bleed is something where your design extends beyond the edge of the finished product and you cut into the bleed, trimming off some of the art and leaving a smaller product than the original paper size.
