Pointer showing in triplicate

I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 professional and ever sinc
e when I select a tool to use and hover over an area of a photo the tool icon shows in triplicate. Move hadn shows three hands.Crop tool shows three crop boxes. I have unistalled Photo Chop CS4 and reinstalled it and am still having the same problem.

I turned on my new iMac for the first time today and set it up using a backup on Time Machine from my old Macbook, which is running OS X 10.9.5 and has iPhoto version 8.1.2. When I went to open iPhoto on the new computer, it said I had to update the photos to work with the new version. Now, my photos from part of July 26, 2014 and onwards do not show up in the new iPhoto. The albums and spaces for the photos are there, but only a gray triangle with exclamation point shows in their place. Every other photo from 2003 to half of July 26, 2014 appears to have updated without issue. None of the fixes/rebuilds I tried worked. When I open up TimeMachine, it has no backups that I can use for the new computer (perhaps, because I wanted to still have access to use my old backups for my old laptop so told it not to use them for the new computer). My most recent half a year's photos are the ones I need the most. How do I make them appear on my new iMac?

Do you still have the old Mac? Then check, if the iPhoto Library has the newer events from July 26 onwards.
If yes, copy the iPhoto library from the old Mac to the new mac by connecting both computers. And then try to upgrade the copied library.
If you no longer have access to the old mac, you could try to inherit the backup of the old Mac and try to restore the iPhoto Library from it.

That exclamation mark is displayed when iPhoto cannot link to the original file. First make sure you are running a "managed" library by checking iPhoto's Advanced preference pane to make sure the checkbox to copy files into the library during import is checked.

If it is checked you can try the following: make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

So i was merging pictures together in events and all of the sudden I had several come up with no pictures just the image number when I click on the picture which is bland a black exclmation point shows up. Have I lost my pictures for good?

I'm sorry, but your sister, unless she had already turned on the "Find my iPhone" feature and the person who took the phone has not disabled it, is out of luck. She should report the theft to local police authorities, including the serial number of her iPhone. While her experience is unfortunate, there are good reasons why Apple cannot do anything else about it.
I hope she gets her phone back.

Mouse Pointer shows "Edit Cursor" "|" where it should be a arrow (pointer)

I have noticed that at times the mouse pointer shows a Edit cursor when it should be
a standard mouse arrow.
This happens when a leave one application and navigate to another application.
I am able to use the "|" cursor to click, but it seems rather odd.
I would really like to know if someone else has noticed this?

Are you using Fast User Switching (FUS)? Are you running an application that keeps a window always on top?
I have encountered a reproducible problem which causes the mouse pointer to fail to revert to the default arrow. I do not know if it is a general OS X issue, or caused by this specific app only (I just reported the problem to the app vendor, will report back on the resolution).
In my case, if user "A" is running a program that has an "always on top" window, and that application has the "focus", and I then use FUS to switch to any other user, the mouse pointer for that user will "stick" in its most recent variation - be it a pointing finger (for a link), an edit cursor, a window resize cursor, etc. If you move from a link for example to a text box, the cursor will change to the new form, but it will not revert to the default arrow. To "solve" the problem, do this:
before using FUS to change to another user, click on another application (e.g. the Finder), so that the problem application does not have the "focus". Does any of this relate to your problem?

Audio from Power Point show doesn't play

I am having a problem with Power Point shows that people send to me via e-mail. The video works fine, but the audio doesn't play. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

thank you for getting back to me.
The slide show works fine, including sound, from within Organizer. It
also works fine when I export it as a video. Just PDF isn't working.
In the meantime, from various contributions in the forum, I gather that,
unfortunately, the Organizer (just like Lightroom) simply does not
support adding music to PDF slide shows. Apparently, there is a way to
do that using Acrobat Pro (only costs 640 Euros).
You may consider my question answered.

SCCM 2012 SP1 with 6 DPs.
We had 6 distribution points. The Primary Site server D drive got full while installing new DP. We reboot the server and now Administration->Distribution Points show 0 items.
Distribution point shows 0 items.
Distribution Point group shows ALLDPGroup however members show 0 items.
Content Status shows 0 items
Distribution Point Group Status 0 items

MP could not complete a task when processing Relay.
Check the logs for clues. Possible cause: Out of disk space.
Solution: Increase the disk space, remove unprocessable files.

If you can get into the Console do you have maintenance task set-up to clean up and delete old records? if so do that.
Why should that help in that case?
@Parvinder_Randev: were you able to free up some disk space? Have you already examined the site and component status? Are there other errors? Site systems should not vanish just because of the disk being full.

Insert point showing up in firefox, how do i remove it?

Recently i noticed i got an insert point showing up anywhere i click on the browser, ill post a picture to show what it looks like, how do i get it removed?

It means you are trying to communicate with a person who the device cannot reach. Are you using a phone number or email to reach this person? Check your settings for iMessage and make sure that "Send as SMS" is ON.

Should trade-in history/points show on my account history?

I did a trade-in yesterday in fact & my GCU 10% bonus didn't show up automatically.
In fact, I suspect I'm not getting credited with points for trade-ins properly at all as I'm not seeing any videogame trade-ins I've done shown on my "points and purchase" history in the past six months - they should be on there, right?

Does the game you traded in happen to be Wolfenstein: The New Order? It did get updated yesterday and I know we had been discussing it.
Anyway, it can take anywhere between 1-5 days for trade-in points to post to your account, so it is possible that they will still appear. If you also missed out on the Unlocked bonus, though, that does seem less likely.

Odd, Points showing and then taken away?

Hello everyone,
I just noticed a rather odd thing happen to my point count in 10.3 and ealier usage forum. My point accumalation was such that it was showing in the sidebar "Top Rated Members" as 570 points after I had been awarded what appeared to be 10 points. I didn't at the time know where the points had been awarded but went off searching of my post and saw a "Helpful" 5 point award in one of the last topics I had posted to but I could not find the other 5 points........
With the above as a preface, I now just saw that I have 565 points in the sidebar of the 10.3 and earlier usage forum.
Is the forum software giving errors of point totals and then correcting?
Has anyone seen this before? Perhaps it's a common problem that I have just never noticed before?
I'm truly not concerned about the loss of points but just more interested in what could have caused the problem.....

I have seen this happen to me as well. I saw it when I received points in a thread that was then removed and thought that it was just plain gone.
However, they aren't really gone. The current forum software doesn't allow for posts or threads to be deleted. They are actually moved to an administrative area that is not for everyone to see.
If a thread is moved, the points are still on your ID, but they will show in that administrative area instead of the 10.3 area in this case. They are still part of your overall total, but not part of the 10.3 total. I saw this myself when either Kappy or Tuttle showed me this area where I am one of the Top 10 - LOL!

Iphoto- Can see thumbnail, but when clicked a circle with a gray circle and a black exclamation point shows up.

Once I click a picture in Iphoto this pops up.
I can clearly see the picture when its in a thumbnail. I have really Important pictures of my whole family and I would be so devastated if I lost them. I didn't mess around with Iphoto at all. All I ever did was upload pictures to it and one day this started happening to ALL my pictures on there.

your screenshot is not showing.
But an exclamation point usually signifies, that iPhoto cannot access the original image files.
Where is your iPhoto library located? On your system drive, or do you keep it on an external drive?
What version of iPhoto are you running?
Have you installed or updated any software lately? Run any cleaning applications, like MacKeeper, CleanYourMac?
The first thing to try would be to rebuild your iPhoto library. assuming you are using iPhoto '11, see this post by Old Toad:

Can't open recent photos to view, explanation point shows up!!

I have no idea what happened! I uploaded 1500 photos to iphoto after my vacation yesterday and made 2 seperate folders in iPhoto for them so I could send them off to friends and family and then I deleted them off my camera once uploaded. I got a message shortly after I downloaded DropBox saying that there were 1400 photos not dowloaded yet and do I want to download them, I said YES and now I can't even open the photos in iPhoto, but I can see the thumbnail small ones, when I open the photos it is an explaination point!!! I have never had this happen in 5 years since I've owned my computuer, please HELP!!!

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
