Pointer to Hand

How do I get the pointer to change to a hand when the user rolls over a button, like normal web page viewing.  In my project the point just stays the same....a pointer.  Thanks

Select the button, go to Properties > Options > Hand Cursor and tick the box.

  • Finder pointer arrow/hand/watch has acquired a strange color

    Hi,
About a week ago my Finder selection pointer (arrow, hand, and watch) changed from its usual black-and-white color to black-and-yellow. That is to say, wherever the color used to be white is now yellow. Specifically, the edges around the black selection arrow are now yellow, and the inner parts of the selection hand and the timer/watch (the one that indicates that the computer is busy) are also yellow instead of white. I searched the System Preference panes as well as the utilities TinkerTool and OnyX but couldn't find a solution to this strange problem. I also trashed the Finder plist file and restarted the computer to no avail. Can anyone please help me restore my selection pointer to its normal black-and-white color?

Actually got solved by pulling usb plug out of keyboard and plugging it back in. I think it was caused when I pulled out the keyboard usb from back of machine, somehow messed up the mouse which was plugged into it.

  • Center Anchor Point at a Layer

How can i center Anchor Point to a Layer center? Are there commands to align a center point?

I dont need to do it with expressions, but i began to think this will do the only way.
    The very common situations are:
    (1) user creates a layer and draw a mask on it
    (2) user creates a text layer
    (3) user creates a shape layer
    The question is:
how to position a layer Anchor Point
in the center of a mask, text or shape
    without alter their position coordinates?
Usually i see users position Anchor Point by hand
but i imagine if there isnt a way to be sure it is absolutely centralized in a specific element
    (shape, mask or text)...
Is the only way by dragging it by "eye method"?

  • CS4 - Windows XP - Freezing Hand Tool

It seems like all I am doing is posting questions on the forum but I really do try other things before posting...most times!
I recently posted a query about Out Of Bounds creation. I found a tutorial I was doing it. At a certain point the Hand Tool, which I wasn't even using would come up and I couldn't change the tool to do some free transformation on an object created using the stroke feature.
If I walk away from the job for a few minutes it seems to clear itself out and I can work again but only for a short time until it flushes again. I am using new equipment with CS4 in Windows XP. The computer performance shows 1-3% of CPU usage and I have 4 gig of RAM...not not much else is open either.
I then shut down, re-opened PhotoShop, Opened a NEW 11 x8.5 300dpi for my background, PLACED my photo I would work with, created a new layer, moved it to the position I wanted, and BINGO - Frozen hand tool for about 10-15 minutes.
Any thoughts on how I can avoid this or SOLUTION to not having it happen again. It's a bit hare to work this way.
Thanks for any insight....I'm still transitioning from Corel but things like this don't help!

Thanks again John. Part of the problem maybe the size of file I am working with as well so in reading other topics I have increased my RAM usage as well.
If you know about masking can I remain on this thread as ask(?)...I have gone through the tortures of the damned (that's one of the best ways to learn) playing with the masking in PhotoShop, quite a bit different than Corel. I think I have it pretty well figured out except for one thing.
If I create a mask and want to adjust pixel by pixel I go to the Quick Selection Tool knowing I can either add or subtract. I set my brush size to 1, Hardness to 100, Spacing to 1% hoping that when I click on the target pixel it will execute the + or -. Too many times I don't get just the target pixel, but an adjoining one as well....not good because the redundant vocabulary comes back!
Any thoughts on how to get JUST the target pixel in with + or -?
    Thanks again.

  • HT204389 In hands free mode, why does Siri lock my phone after executing a command?

Anytime I'm using Siri in my car in hands free mode, she locks my phone immediately after executing my command.  Then I can't access certain abilities without unlocking first - which obviously is missing the point of hands free mode.
    Thank you!

May have found a solution for part of this. In the first senario when the two names are presented, repeat request with a verb and a noun. Say call John.
As for the 2nd senerio, I have not been able to find a solution.
Siri appears to be a toy and an advertizing campain talking voice but little else. Upsetting as it was one of the reasons for choosing this platform. It will get better but not soon enough.
For now considering turning it off and using regular voice control agumented by Plantronics Vocalast service. I can possibly go on business trips and use my phone hands free whith the state Siri is in right now.

  • Cue points with Sound Forge 9.0a?

    Just upgraded from SF 6 to 9 … I haven’t needed
cue points in a long time but it used to be as simple as saving a
WAV file with markers in it. With SF 9 I have an option to save
WAVs with and without meta data. Saving without meta data strips
out the cue points (logical enough, reading the sound file back
into SF 9 confirms the markers are gone) … saving with meta
data creates a file Director 10.1 won’t read (“Having
trouble reading file, Continue?) Has something changed? I’ve
searched here and on the web at large and not seen any mention of
issues between SF 9 and Director. I’ve tried two machines
    with the same result.

Fixed it, sort of… Apparently by default Sound Forge
doesn’t name the cue points at all and Director doesn’t
like this (at least up to MX04, don’t know about 11). To
create wav files with metadata that Director will read:
In Sound Forge navigate to Options > Preferences >
    Labels.
Check the box “label markers”, I also used the
    prefix and leading zero options
Any new markers will now have labels
For my present project I already had 83 cue points accurately
positioned that I didn’t want to remake. In this case I
renamed each cue point by hand, one at a time. Insanely tedious but
better than marking the file again.

  • How to stop Hand Tool from zooming?

I have Acrobat Pro 7.0. When I'm viewing PDFs, at some point the Hand Tool ends up with what looks like T with a downward pointing arrow at the bottom on it, and anytime I click in text while using the Hand Tool, the page zooms in and out. If I click in the margin I can drag the page as usual. I've been using Acrobat for years and I had never encountered this feature until just a few weeks ago. At some point I managed to get this to stop - to operate as the basic Hand Tool to drag pages around, but now that zooming feature is enabled again and I have no idea what I did to activate it nor can I figure out how to disable it. Can someone please tell me? I dug around in the Help for a bit but didn't see any reference to this. Thanks.

I think this is a document-specific setting of some sort after something I just noticed.
When I open certain PDF documents only, then I click in the body of any page (except the cover page, and table of contents page), whether that page contains just text or text and graphics, the icon appears on the Hand Tool right away and each time I click the page zooms. I also noticed now that each time I click the current page moves down about a third of the way, so if I keep clicking, I end up on the next page and each subsequent page is also zoomed.
However, if I click the navigation arrow button that takes me back a page, those pages assume the default zoom (100% in this case).
This behavior does not occur in most of my other PDFs. All are produced by me, from FrameMaker, using essentially the same features, so I have not (intentionally) enabled anything in Frame for these documents that would result in this behavior).
I messed around with my mouse trying to trigger this, and nothing happened. I restarted Acrobat between trying different things, so I think this is an Acrobat feature. Hopefully this other information will be recognizable to someone who knows how to disable this. In the meantime, I'll scour the Acrobat Preferences again. Thanks for any further input.

  • Importing wav with cue points?

I’m trying to import a WAV file with cue points and I
get a “Director having trouble importing…” error
message. I created the cue points in Sound Forge 9 using markers
and save the file with meta data. From what I recall I should be
able to simply import this file but Director (MX04) seems to be
choking on the meta data (imports fine without cue points).
I’ve been working with Director for over 10 years but lately
it’s been mostly application development and not narrated
multimedia, I feel like I’ve forgotten something very
    basic.

Fixed it, sort of… Apparently by default Sound Forge
doesn’t name the cue points at all and Director doesn’t
like this (at least up to MX04, don’t know about 11). To
create wav files with metadata that Director will read:

  • Overlaying images on specified point

    Hello!
I have 2 pictures, with many similarities. I would like to overlay them on a specified point, or edge, or some unique feature. Is there any way to choose a point (by hand or by an algorithm) then find the one matching it (or similar to it) on the other image? and then overlay the images according to the matched point? Overlaying algorithm is done, now I need to find correspondences between the two images, and then overlay them according to the similarity.
    Thank you!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello,
I have modified the labview example. Run it, input two images (left, right) then "load" them, select the edge ROI (see the image below) and "search". Then overlay one image over another with transparency ("overlay"). The code is a bit messy, but you can clean it up for your project.
You have said that the overlaying algorithm is done, could you please share it? Maybe your solution is more sophisticated and can help me with another project.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Customer Service/Shipping Woes

Just got off the phone with Best Buy customer service (had to call 3 times, total time on phone was well over an hour).
I ordered an item which shipped on 10/16/2014 via UPS.  Expected delivery date was 10/24/2014.  On 10/27/2014, I contacted UPS to see what was up.  They told me that Best Buy shipped it via a service called "Sure Post", which means that at some point UPS handed the package over to the US Postal Service.  I was given a USPS new tracking number, which I checked at USPS -- which said that my package was delivered in Houston, Texas.  The problem is that I am in California!    So after explaining this to the customer service rep (who put me on hold and forgot about me), I was finally told that a replacement item would be expressed shipped to me a no charge.  After this 45+ minute phone call I hung up.
A minute later, I got an alert from my credit card company that a $19.99 charge was just made to my card from Best Buy!  Upon checking it appears that Best Buy an immediate charge on my account to pay for the shipping (not what the customer service rep promised).   So I immedately get back on the phone to try to get this straightened out -- I explain the situation to the next customer service rep, and she tries to transfer me back to the original rep who placed the replacement order -- call went on hold (about 10 minutes), then the line dropped.  Frustrated, I call again and speak with a different rep, who transferred me to the shipping(?) department.  I was told that the original rep had made a mistake and they couldn't remove the $19.99 shipping charge.  I was told that a $19.99 credit would be put on the original order to make up for this.   So...15 minutes later, I was done and went to check on my account.  I see a credit of $19.99 as "Digital Dollar Credit" (or something like that), but I'm skeptical as to what the really means as the $19.99 is still pending on my credit card.
A really frustrating experience.  The item I originally ordered was only $69, too....really not worth the time that I had to spend on the phone to resolve this (of course, I'm assuming that it will be eventually resolved when I actually get the replacement product).

    Hello jerryaqua-
If you are like me, you hate waiting for your orders to arrive.  I’m constantly checking the status of the order to see when it ships and when it’s due to show up.  I know I would be alarmed to see my order was going to another state entirely!
It’s also concerning that you were told the shipping fee would be waived on your re-ship, only to see that charge appear on your credit card.  In looking over your order, I can confirm what you were told, in that the shipping fee was charged, but they did apply a credit back for the $19.99 back to your account (which would generally appear as what you described, each bank usually listed these differently).
From what I can see, it looks like your product arrived yesterday, so I hope you received it and are currently enjoying it!  We have documented the issues that you encountered here for review by our BestBuy.com management staff and I absolutely apologize for any inconvenience that it caused you.
I hope that this will not impact your desire to order again with us in the future!
    Sincerely,

  • Want To Have Flash Project Open In New Browser Window

    Hi,
My project outputs and plays perfect to Flash (let default to
Flash 7) but when viewing it (via a link from a web page) it opens
in a "next" window and at the end, if you use the X (EXIT) button
from the player control bar it wants to close the browser window
and does not take you back to the webpage (where I have the link to
play). I cannot seem to find an option in the Preferences or during
output to make the player open in a "new" browser window. Is it
possible there is a browser setting for this instead of setting in
Captivate? (IE 6 or 7) Thanks for any help/suggestions!

Hi leh1, and welcome to the User Community for Captivate!
The window in which any content plays is determined by the
    code contained for the link,
in the web-page from which it is launched. In a nutshell,
you add these parameters to the link when it is created in the
    "Parent" window.
Below is a snippet from a Menu Builder project in which the
links to "Project1" and "Project2" are set to open in a "New"
window, without chrome (note the many "
=no" following an equal sign), at a size of 720 pixels by
    540 pixels ... the snip below shows a link to "Project1.htm", a
document containing a Captivate movie. I have bolded the specific
entries that control the type window ("OpenCustomLink") and the
    size of that window ("width=720,height=540"):
<P style="cursor: pointer; cursor: hand; position:
absolute; left: 90px; top: 149px; text-decoration: none; font:
    normal 18pt Arial; color: #000000" title="Project 1" onclick="
    OpenCustomLink('project1.htm', '_blank',
    'scrollbars=no,status=no,
    titlebar=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,resizable=yes,
    fullscreen=no,
    width=720,height=540'); "
    onmouseover="this.style.color='#0000FF'; "
    onmouseout="this.style.color='#000000';">Project 1</P>
(some spaces inserted to avoid horizontal scroll)
All of which is to say, the target window is controlled from
the link in the parent document. I wouldn't suggest you just
copy-paste the above code, as I took liberties with it. I
would suggest that you can do this yourself with your own
HTML editor (Dreamweaver, etc.), or even better, get your local
web-guru to do it for you.
    All the best!!

  • Suggestion for Incredible Owners

If you care about the 2.2 update.  I got to thinking about a solution that should work.  In order for it to even have a chance we need to e-mail HTC support and make the suggestion.  The more people who do it the more likely it is but even if it isn't pheasible for this update perhaps it can be put in place for future updates.
The problem with Android 2.2 update coming for current HTC phones is Sense UI.  Sense is both a User Interface but also a series of additions to Android.  All of the individual pieces as well as the full UI has to be ported to Android 2.2 which requires tweaking and reprogramming some of the things to utilize all of the features possible while getting rid of some things that are being replaced by Stock Android like Flashlite will be removed to make room for Flash etc.  The suggestion that I am attempting to spread is that we request for the few that care and would appreciate it that they make available a Stock Android 2.2 rom through download or going to the store.  it won't be an OTA so part of the delivery scheduling is removed and it won't have Sense so most of the complexity of porting the OS to the phone will be removed.  It might still take a few weeks because it will have to be tested and approved by Verizon but if you take away the complexities that slow the process we should be able to get it more quickly.
My basic point is Hands-free dialing is more useful to me than any of the Sense extras, and Flash is more useful that Flashlite, and most of the rest of Sense is just eye candy (unnecessary Graphics that make things pretty but don't add substance essentially just taking up system resources).  I wouldn't suggest abandoning Sense there are many that like it.  I wouldn't suggest anything more than The features of 2.2 are more useful and anticipated by me than any of the Sense UI bloatware that I have had to shut off all that I could to save battery anyway, and if it isn't possible to accomidate those of us who are admittedly nerdy tech obsessed or feature hungry/Safety Conscious then that will be considered in future phone purchases.  I expect the Incredible to be amoung the first to be update because of the HTC phones that are currently on the market it is the most popular so more resources will go into updating it first or should anyway.  It isn't just the Incredible that this would help.  Remember the Eris debacle?  How long were they working on the Droid Eris update to 2.0 only to abandon it for 2.1 which still took way too long to get out.    We complained about the Droid but in the grand scheme of Verizon's required testing for software and hardware to be approved it was fairly quick.  All I would like is the option to have it as soon as Verizon will allow it without all the features if I so choose so that I can take advantage of the features of the OS that I will use.
That is all.  Please e-mail HTC customer service with that suggestion and see if we get anywhere.  As I say they may already be preparing Sense with 2.2 for us but if they can start doing this as general practice then perhaps with 3.0 we won't have to wait 6 months if we don't want to and we won't have issues like what happened with the Eris where it being one of the lesser popular phones and a poor seller was the last in line and likely will never see another update.  How long before we're there too?  How many updates will a phone get?  Will it get a full 2 years well if it is as difficult to prepare an update as HTC is saying then we can safely say that if it has a custom UI then you will be lucky to get one good update out of it.  Will we fall to the same thing.  Just look how many phones HTC comes out with in a year's time each bigger and badder than the last.  With this option phones will go instead of from New and shiney to Obsolete in 6 months to being New and Shiney to old news in 6 months.   There is a huge difference.  If it is obsoleted in 6 months Like the Eris was no updates, no fun, and before your updates you can't install any new apps.  If it is Old news in 6 months Like the Droid did ok so it isn't the top of the heap everyone is talking about it but you still can get updates because they aren't an act of congress to come up with, It can still be fun, Still run new apps and software.

Think Incredible owners will get preferential treatment due to the shortage?
I wonder if vzw shot a "big red" bullet at HTC for this shortage problem and created a faster update toward 2.2? Maybe that's why were supposed to get that 720p/hotspot update someday?
I'm sure politically someone got something but the question is what? Probably has nothing to do with this phone.
My guess is that HTC is getting slammed by the customers about 2.2 and they don't have the resources to catch up. Creating new UI's, Phones, pushing updates, fighting legal suites, back orders, shortages,  etc.
I think this company is in over it's head and it's going to take a bit to dig out. When it does thought.... It'll be huge!
Whats that email link? I'll send them a plea.

  • PDF images that magnify when clicked? (but not in Preview)

I'm viewing a 3-page PDF document received from elsewhere, using Acrobat 7.0 Standard on a MacBook running OS 10.4.11. The document contains 4 figures. When I run the pointer (the "hand") over 2 of these images, a short horizontal bar with a short arrow pointing downward from it appears inside the hand. Clicking once significantly magnifies the size of the image, up to full screen or full window width. What happens with further clicks is a bit confusing, but there is no further magnification, and eventually a demagnification back to the initial size.
Nothing like this happens with the other two figures, and nothing like this happens if I view the document in Mac Preview. Only limited information on how this PDF document was created is available, except that maybe PowerPoint was involved at some stage.
Any ideas as to what's going on here?
    Thanks for any info.

    Hi A.E. --
If you're looking for a better response than you've gotten so far, I'd suggest the Mac Acrobat forums at http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.ee6b2ed/
There's a chance that someone here may know, but since it's clearly an Acrobat "feature" (given that it doesn't occur in Preview), someone will DEFINITELY know the answer over there.
    Best of luck!

The Acrobat Standard manual speaks of Articles as being comprised of _text_; the objects in the PDF document that magnify when clicked are _images_. The first such image is about half a page wide, and has text wrapped around it on the left; the second image is full page width and thus does not have text wrapped around it. Both magnify when clicked -- but, there is also a somewhat confusing Article-like behavior in which subsequent clicks on the first image eventually end up opening the second image.
However, when I open the View >> Navigation Tabs >> Articles menu item for the document in question, NO Articles are shown in the resulting Articles window.
I'm beginning to think there may be some residual coding associated with the images, or in the PDF file, that somehow triggers garbled Article-related responses that were not intentionally or properly inserted into the file . . . ???

  • Inserting image to a html file

Hey guys, its been awhile since i worked with codes and i now need to ad an image to my home page where i left a space just for it. I know the image code but it doesn´t seem to be working i think i am placing it in the wrong place. Can someone help me out please ? If needs to i can send the html file (home.html) and the screenshot of my page.
    Thank you guys

This is the code from your posted link.  I copied View > Source from FF and pasted into NoteTab....  Removed white spaces and copy Ctrl+C & pasted Ctrl+V here using >> Syntax highlighting > Plain.
Unfortunately, this is only the bloated HTML.  It doesn't include styles from your 9 external CSS files!
So where are you trying to insert an image???
