Pointer tool instead of arrow?

Hello all --
I'm not sure if this is either a) possible, or b) answered, but here goes. Is it possible to have pointer tools instead of arrows appear when hovering over a button I created? If not possible in catalyst, is it possible to export into flash builder and do it there?

Are you looking for something like this? That is as fancy as Catalyst can get with the cursor.
Could you describe what the pointer would look like, as opposed to the normal arrow cursor?

  • I am getting this message: "Please use the add anchor point tool on a segment of a path" -- need help!

    Hello guys,
    I am new to illustrator and am trying to trace one of my scanned sketches on Illustrator CC. I have been watching tutorials on Youtube.com and have followed every step, but when it comes to using the pen tool, I receive a pop up message reading, "Please use the add anchor point tool on a segment of a path." I researched Adobe forums and came across another discussion with someone who had the same problem. After making the changes that people suggested to the other person's discussion, the problem still occurred with me. I am still getting the same message even after making sure I have deselected Snap to grid, etc. Can anyone please help me out!?

    It sounds to me like you're using the Add Anchor Point tool instead of the Pen tool. If you are trying to trace a scanned sketch, you'll be creating content from scratch in which case you want to use the Pen tool. The Add Anchor Point tool can only modify an existing path, it can't create one. Switch to your Pen tool and see if that helps.

  • How do I link to another anchored page using the point tool?

    Hello
    I am using the point tool (arrow tool) to link to anchors in my current page.  Is there a way of linking to anchors using the tool in another page (in others words one that I am not working on) or does it need to be done manually?
    Thank you
    Jake

    Arrow Tool???  Which arrow tool do you mean?
    Named anchors are deprecated in modern HTML standards.  To create links to content on the same page, set up some Div IDs like this.
    <section id="one">
         Content one goes here...
    </section>
    <section id="two">
         Content two goes here...
    </section>
    <section id="three">
         Content three goes here...
    </section>
    LINKS ON SAME PAGE:
         <a href="#one">Link 1</a>
         <a href="#two">Link 2</a>
         <a href="#three">Link 3</a>
    LINKS ON DIFFERENT PAGE:
         <a href="page_name.html#one">Link 1</a>
         <a href="page_name.html#two">Link 2</a>
         <a href="page_name.html#three">Link 3</a>

  • How do I turn off the alt scroll zoom?  When I'm in Adobe photoshop and illustrator using the pen tool, alt is utilized for another short cut.  I would like to use the alt command for the pen tool instead of zooming into the screen.

    How do I turn off the alt scroll zoom?
    When I'm in Adobe photoshop and illustrator using the pen tool, alt is utilized for another short cut.  I would like to use the alt command for the pen tool instead of zooming into the screen.

    I tend to select things from left to right and every time I am moving in a downward right diagonal motion during lasso selection I am missing a clear view and I am tending to have a more sloppy selection.  All this does is slow me down since I need to go back and hit those areas again.  The big arrowhead just get's in the way.  The original lasso tool with the thin line and small active point at it's lower left was far better for me.
    I don't like turning the cursors to precise because I like to see the active tool icon where my cursor is and as the icon changes as I hold modifier keys down.  If I am forced to get comfortable with using pricise cursors I guess I will, but man, I've never had to do this in my 15 years of photoshop use...
    I would absolutely LOVE to find a way to get the old lasso icon -- without the arrowhead above it.
    Is there any chance this option could be inlcuded in cursor preferences?  I'd give much thanks, Adobe.

  • Appearance of Pointer Tool in InDesign

    I am using InDesign 6.0.4 in Windows XP. When I select the Pointer tool, the toolbox shows a hand overlying a cutting device. When the cursor is not over any object, it looks like the normal select cursor. When over text, like the text cursor, and when over an object in a frame, it shows a hand. Nowhere that I have seen does it show like the cuting device in the toolbox. Is this as it should be?

    The official name, at least in English, is the Position Tool, and it's normally hidden behind the Direct Select tool in the Tools Panel. Holding the mouse down on any tool that shows a small triangle in the lower right corner and waiting a few seconds will reveal the hidden tools and allow you to select a new choice.
    Some people like the Position Tool becase it allows you to move the frame or the content, and to crop, all without changing tools, but I personally never use it, probably because it is a relatively new new addition tothe program and I learned to use ID before it was available.
    Using the term "pointer tool" in ID is very ambiguous. In Addition to the Position Tool, there are the Direct Select and regular Select tools, both of which use an arrow or "pointer" as their cursor. The Select tool is te solid black arrow and is used for manipulating frames and other objects -- moving and sizing -- while the Direct Select tool (white arrow) is used for selecting and manipulating the content in frames or points on path segments, as well as to select a single object from within a group.

    during adjustment in Curves, error as could not use white point tool because of a program error. how to resove?

    You should ask in the forum for the program you are using
    The Cloud forum is not about using individual programs
    The Cloud forum is about the Cloud as a delivery & install process
    If you will start at the Forums Index https://forums.adobe.com/welcome
    You will be able to select a forum for the specific Adobe product(s) you use
    Click the "down arrow" symbol on the right (where it says All communities) to open the drop down list and scroll

  • Pointer tool

    I was using the a "plus" sign pointer tool in FCE for key mapping.
    Now it seems my normal "arrow" when using other applications,turns into the plus sign when I am scrolling certain items outside of FCE.
    How do I get rid of this ???

    Reboot means restart. Disk Utility is in Applications/Utilities, unless it's been moved. The search box in any Finder window should be able to find it.

  • Help! I can't delete anchor points with the Delete Anchor Point Tool

    I have a shape in illustrator CS6 that I'm trying to edit. When I try to click on a point with the Delete Anchor Point Tool nothing happens however I am able to select the point using the Direct Selection Tool and then remove it using the "Remove selected anchor points" option in the Control palette. Same issue with trying to use the Convert Anchor Point Tool.
    Any ideas what's going wrong here?

    Another thought. If there are multiple nodes in that one spot, you may have to use the remove anchor point repeatedly to get rid of them all. It looks like you deleted the point and nothing happens, but really you are just seeing another node that was very close to the one you just deleted.
    If you select drag over them with the white arrow tool and choose remove anchor points it will remove them all at once.

  • How do I fix my Pen Tool/Delete Anchor Point Tool in Illustrator?

    Problem One - I'm trying to change the form of my shape, and all of a sudden my Delete Anchor Point Tool isn't working. I'm clicking (and zoomed in A LOT) and it's not clicking on or deleting any of my anchor points.
    Problem Two - I'm not sure if it's just the slow speed of my work computer, but I'm trying to trace a shape in a photo that I have locked in the background, and when I click my pen tool it makes the point like 2 to 5 pixels away from where I'm clicking, so I can't precisely trace the shape that I would like to.
    Any tips and help on this ASAP would be great! Getting stuck like this is throwing off my productivity and it's very frustrating!
    Thank you!

    The problem was Google Chrome browser!  As soon as I quit Chrome my pen tool started working again.  I didn't even need to restart Fireworks.  I wonder if it is a conflict with one of my plugins/add ons.  Most likely.
    UPDATE - I did narrow it down to one specific Google Chrome extension.  It was "Google Play Music"

  • After I exported a PDF to a Word doc and downloaded it, I can't get the pointer tool to work.

    After I exported a PDF to a Word doc and downloaded it, I can't get the pointer tool to work. When I click on the document text, the only tool is the "move" tool. I can't edit or select text. Please advise.

    Version of Adobe: Adobe ExportPDF (not Pro)
    Operating system:  Windows 8.1
    Steps I am taking: When the PDF file is selected and opened, I clicked on Tools menu on right side of the screen; then I clicked on Select PDF file; then under Convert To, I selected Microsoft Word (*.docx); then I hit the box below that; and clicked Convert. I then see the message that says it is Converting to Export PDF Online. Then I see a link below that, that says Download Converted File. This takes me online to Adobe Acrobat .com, where, I see the command, Export PDF, and see a blue box on the same screen that says Select PDF Files to Export. I click on the thumbnail of the file I want to export. This brings up, online, a screen containing the file I wanted to convert to Word. Then, on the same screen, I click on the icon on the right hand of the screen that says Download. then I click on the box on the bottom the screen that contains the Word document I had wanted to convert. This brings up the Word doc. in Compatibility Mode the latest Word version, which I am unfamiliar with and which has a Picture Tools tab that I cannot escape from and I cannot get any selection tool other that the Move pointer, and I cannot find the Select text pointer to select any text on the page. I don't want this Word version and do not know how to return to the old version of Word that I am familiar with.
    Can you help me, please?

    In Preview, I suddenly am unable to get the "Adjust Color" tool panel to edit images. I just get the rectangular image selection tool instead. How do I ge the "Adjust Color" tool panel back?

    Hmmm, I wonder if that window is hidden or off screen? Have you moved the pic window around to look under it?
    Might try this...
    Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions.
    Then move these files to the Desktop for now...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preview.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preview.bookmarks.plist
    Reboot & test.
    PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

But if i press alt or if i do not press it, it does not change the working of my anchor point tool or handles. When i press alt i see the little sign apearing next to my cursor and that's all. • Anchor point tool doesn't work properly

    When I use the anchor point tool and want to adjust a path line, Adobe Flash often doesn't react until the 2nd or 3nt try. Does anyone know a solution for this? I use Adobe Flash CS6.
    Thanks for help

    This bug made its way into flash CC as well. Not exacly sure how to reproduce it, but the anchor point/point relocation preview doesnt work on shapes/lines when you try to pull or move them.
    The buged lines were created at 0.1 thickness and didnt work outright. A line created with 1.0 thickness worked as expected.
    My guess its in thickness + hiearchy (groups/objects) related?
    Here is a screencast of the bug: https://www.monosnap.com/file/SDxHRkqOAXE7QjOSetAsMyPhdbub1F/# I managed to create buggy and normal lines on one hiearchy level.
