Pointing to an object in a picture
Hi there. I would like to draw an arrow between a word below a jpeg and an object in the jpeg. Every time I create an arrow it moves the jpeg out of the way. For example, if I have a family photo and I want to draw an arrow to single out one member in the photo and draw an arrow to a name below the picture, how do I do it?
Thanks
Tigali,
You apparently have the Word Wrap feature activated for the arrow object. Select the Arrow, then go to the Wrap Inspector and deselect the Object Causes Wrap checkbox.

Jerry

How to get similar color for objects in different pictures
how do you get similar color for objects in different pictures
I have a prodject that i'm working on and i need to edit several images at once (preferabley) so that they are the same color. They are wooden cupboards and i need all the wood looking the same colour. In light room you can edit a group of images at the same time hence the colours are the same . Is this possible in Elements ? If so how do i do this ?
I have tried duplicating layers and it just replaces the whole image, it seems to work using levels layers but not the other layers ... I have 30 more images to do and would ideally not like to adjust all the images manually ? I dont mind doing minor tweaks. Essentially all the images where taken with the same camera and lighting and lens's ...
Screen shot is where I'm at at the moment...
I have posted this question else where but was told to repost - this is a link to my previous post as to where we got to
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4720576#4720576You could try using the raw converter. Open one file and edit it (File>Open, pick the image and choose Camera Raw as the format before you click Open). Then open the next image and click the little four-lined square on the upper right side of the ACR window and choose Previous Conversion from the flyout menu.

How to change the size of a particular object in the picture?
How to change the size of a particular object in the picture?
You need to select it. Copy that selection to a new layer, and use Free Transform to resize it.

Use one of the selection tools -- lasso, rectangle marquee or elliptical marquee, for example.

Can one reference points to many objects?
HI friend:
Can I use one object reference points to all objects defined in same class? Because sometimes I only want to access some instance methods and they require a object reference to access. And it doesn't matter which object it is. For example:
I have a table class:
public class Table
int tableNo;
int tableSize;
String tableSta;
String reserName;
public Table(int n, int s, String c)
tableNo = n;
tableSize = s;
tableSta = c;
Somewhere in the future, I will define a search method (a non-static method) inside table class and it doesn't really matter which object I use to call this method. Because the searching target is all the objects of this Table class. Is it possible to create 50 table objects from another class and use one object reference points to all these objects created and use that reference to access the search method?
Here is the coding in another class:
for (int i=1; i<=20; i++)
table = new Table(i, 2, "vacant");
for (int i=21; i<=30; i++)
table = new Table(i, 4, "vacant");
for (int i=31; i<=50; i++)
table = new Table(i, 8,"vacant");
Can I use table as object reference to access search method?Because if the method is static, it can't process instance variables, such as Table objects. But when I implement the search() method, it should search all table objects. That's why I don't want make the method static. :-)

How do you remove an object from a picture. Newbie to program CS6
how do you remove an object from a picture. Newbie to program CS6
Well, generally you can use the clone-stamp tool for one, shortcut is S. It basically allows you to take data from any part of the image and copy that over. What I do is draw on a new layer above the one to modify- make sure you select Sample:"This layer and below" in the top toolbar when doing so. Other ways include blending something on top of the object too, using different blending modes. Painting over it works too at times (rarely). It'd be easier if we knew a specific case though...

using PS on a regular computer windows 7 tryng to remove an object from a picture, following steps in the tutorial however when the object is removed it is replaced by another (unwanted) portion of the photo i.e. someones face instead of what would have normally been in the background
Well, we can't know. You have not told us what tools you use and what steps nor provided any screenshots. From your description it simply sounds like you are following some tutorial (which again we know nothing about because you haven't told us which one) and getting things wrong. You need to do much better if you want people to help you.

Set reference point for multiple objects in the middle of the document
Hello Community,
I want to mirror a layout.
So I:
1. Select all the objekts
2. Set the reference point to the middle
3. Mirror the objects
BUT
The reference point is the middle of all the OBJECTS. That leads to several objects crossing the border of my document because the layout isn't spread out evenly.
I want to middle of the DOCUMENT to be the reference point. How can I do that?
Thanks
ChristianHave you fiugured this out on your own?
I just played around a bit and found a method, but it's not exactly intuitive. Select the object(s), then switch to the Rotate tool. The center of rotation will be defined as one of the transformation handles, but you can drag it to anywhere you like, so move it to the point that you want as the center of your mirror. Hold down the Alt/Opt key, and click the reflect button to make a mirrored copy. Without the modifier key the original objects will mirror their position around the repositioned reference. -
Lock the centre point of an object?
I'm using illustrator (CS6) to animate a simple marionette type figure.
I'm using the Rotation tool to turn body parts around their usual connection points, moving the transform centre point each time. I'm wondering if it's possible to "lock" the centre point for any individual object to a certain offset from the object's actual centre, so that every time I reselect an object to move it I'm always rotating it around exactly the same place. I find that if I have to move the centre point from the real centre to where I want to rotate around every time, I'm not getting the exact same spot in relation to the object's bounds, which makes for some weird movements.
For example, the rectangle that makes up the upper arm should have its rotation point always about ten pixels down from the top and in the horizontal centre of the object. The elbow right at the top edge, but also in the horizontal centre, of the lower arm. etc.Monika Gause wrote:
Use symbols.
They've got a registration point. Position the artwork in relation to that reg point.
Ahh, that's an excellent suggestion, thanks! It looks like it should work.. although there's this bit of the documentation that makes me wonder:
When you create a symbol, you can choose the registration point from any of the 8-point across boundaries or center of the symbol bounding box.
It sounds like I might not be able to set it to any arbitrary position within the symbol. I'll give it a shot though.. thanks! -

How to align an anchor point with an object?
I have a shape I made with the pen tool, and now I want to align one anchor point of the shape with the middle of a rectangle. How can I do this? It doesn't seem like I can do what I do for objects, which is select both objects, click the object I want to align to, and hit align. If I'm not describing this properly let me know and I can try to clarify.
...another way...
1. grab the Rectangle Tool
2. move your mouse on top of the Anchor you wish to align
3. draw a rectangle wider than the shape, centered on the Anchor
- click and drag to draw a rectangle (don't release yet),
- then press Alt to make it centered on top of the anchor,
- release the mouse, then the Alt key.
4. select both your shape and the rectangle
5. press Ctrl+G to group them
6. select both, the newly created group and the rectangle
7. align your shapes
8. ungroup and delete your temporary rectangle
9. to align vertically, make your temp rectangle wider and taller than your shape. -
Questions about erasing an object from a picture
How does one erase something from a picture???? Something as basic as this should be easily explained but it is not in Photoshop.
#2 How do you change the color of a sky to make it blue rather than white???How does one erase something from a picture???? Something as basic as this should be easily explained but it is not in Photoshop.
Duplicate the background layer
Work on the backgrouind copy layer, and shut off the visibility of the background layer by clicking on its eye icon in the layers palette.
Use one of the selection tools (e.g. selection brush, lasso tool) to select the object that you wish to remove. Once the selection is complete, you will see "marching ants" surrounding the selection. Hit delete on the keyboard.
Now fill the hole with whatever you want.
#2 How do you change the color of a sky to make it blue rather than white???
You can use the Smart brush tool, the one with the gears, for this purpose.
There are other ways as well. Please review this comprehensive thread that pertains to this issue, esp. the referenced Alibony technique:
