How many points will I get on my GCU? How much in certificates?

Buying a PS4 - Game Recommendation list

I'm buying a PS4 in a few days. I'm looking for help in selecting games as I haven't really followed PS Titles over the past few years. I do own a few PS3 Titles, but it is quite limited. I've mostly been gaming on PC. However, I really *do* want to get back into console gaming again just a little bit puzzled as to what to get So here's hoping people can help me conjure a list of titles to start getting for PS4. I'll give you a little bit of a background information on games I have played, both on and off of PC/PS, or what sort of genres I like. 3X points for LG washer and dryer is false advertisement-- 5 months later I am still waiting

I have tried multiple attempts (at least 3 calls) to Best Buy service and have yet to get my issue resolved. I made anLG purchase of a washer and dryer on Octobe 6th 2014. The add said get 3x points so that made my final decision to purchase from Best Buy. 5 months later I have yet to get my 3X points. This is false advertisement. In all three of my calls the representative has apologized and opens up a case. I never hear anything back. I keep being told I got my 20% incremental points but that is not what I am disputing. The last time the represenatative gave me some points for my frustration but said someone would get back to me and that was back in December. Its frustrating as I really like shoping at Best Buy but am becoming very annoyed and really do not want to purcahse here anymore if Best Buy does not follow through with their advertisements. I do not have a copy of the ad (wish I would of kept one) but Best Buy should be able to verify all their ads. I certainly am not making this up. As a matter of fact, the salesperson at the store looked at the ad and confirmed that I should be getting 3X points for the purchase. Since I have tried multiple attempts on the phone with no success then perhaps this message might work better. I would discourage anyone right now in believing any of there reward ads. My time is worth more than trying to chase Best Buy down for points I am owed and will begin to make my purschases elsewhere. BEWARE customers as I am a very dissatisified customer at the moment.

To hear that you have potentially been waiting 5 months for points to post to your My Best Buy account, it is just really disappointing.
It will generally take 20 to 35 days for points to post to a member's account for a Magnolia or Pacific Sales purchase, which will start after any scheduled deliveries are completed. I looked over your account using the email address you registered with the forum and I do see that the base points for your Pacific Sales purchase have already posted. With that being said, it should just be a matter of confirming 3X points was being offered and whether or not your purchase qualified. It appears that your LG washer and dryer may have been eligible for 5X points, but it depends on which models you purchased.
I am very sorry for any inconvenience you have experienced up until now, and I would like to see what I can possibly do to further assist. Double Points for New Games?

I've been a Gamer's Club member for nearly a year now, and I've never seen the double points for any of my gaming purchases. Is there something else that I need to do to 'activate' this promotion, or is it just a glitch?
Do double points only happen when you purchase games for your 'preferred' system?

What's the point in buying a new MacBook?

Hi all,
Recently I went with my iBook G4 to the Apple store to troubleshoot a small problem, but they were unable to help me as after only 7 years, the machine was rendered obsolete and they didn't feel obliged to help. My iBook recently died and I felt like a part of me was missing.
So my question is, what is the point of buying myself a brand new MacBook Pro if in 5 or 6 years, it will be obsolete? I want a Mac that will last me wherever I go for a long time before it finally dies. I've realized that I need to put PowerPC computers out of the question, but will intel processer Macs last longer than PowerPC processors?
For the record, I don't want to switch to Microsoft as I find them difficult and this isn't a crack at Apple.
Any answers are very appreciated,

With Intel based Macs the hardware will not become obsolete as fast as PPC based Macs did, but the operating system and/or applications used might.
That does not mean that it will stop working, just that you won't, in a few years' time, be able to get the latest bells and whistles.
Officially, support from Apple ceases after seven years - but that does not stop the Macs working!

Obsolete products are those that were discontinued more than seven years ago. Apple has discontinued all hardware service for obsolete products with no exceptions. Service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products. These include ALL G4 and G5 models.

Missing "pre order points" for Shadow of Mordor.

I've recently received Shadow of Mordor, I had the game pre ordered, but I'm positive that I didn't receive the 500 bonus points for pre ordering. I can't tell if they're pending or what with the new system, and I can't report those points missing through the "report missing points" menu.
Can I get some help with that?

It can generally take up to 20 days for points to post to a member's My Best Buy™ and Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor was only released a few days ago (9/30/2014), so it might be a few more days before any points officially post to your account. As far as I can tell though, your pre-order should qualify for the "Get $10" pre-order bonus points. If you do not see 500 bonus points post to your account within 20 days, then please send me a private message and I will see what I can do. Missing points for prerdering GTAV and LBP3

I preordered GTAV and LBP3 and am missing the points but the transaction has cleared. The best buy I have been going to has been messing my account up and had to charge me full price for the games and then go back and refund me the twenty dollars for gamers club unlocked. This is the second time they have done this. I was wondering if there was any way to get the 1000 points for preordering those games.

Missing points for several reviews

I have successfully received 25 points each for 6 reviews in the past. However, I have not been receiving any points for the reviews since then. Previously, the points used to credit pretty efficiently after I received an email about the review been posted. Now, I only receive the email notification about review being posted but no points are credit.
What to do?

A product review can be very helpful when it comes to making the decision between one product and another. I tend to lean heavily on product reviews before I make a purchase, and our My Best Buy™ members can earn 25 bonus points if one of their product reviews is published on BestBuy.com. It can generally take up to 20 days for points to post to a member's account, and there is a maximum of 200 bonus points (8 reviews) per calendar year per member.
I looked over your My Best Buy™ account using the email address you registered with the forum and see that you have received bonus points for several reviews. As long as you have not already received 200 bonus points within the calendar year, then 25 bonus points should post if the receive is published. Can I use the Ethernet Port for a computer when it is also used as a wireless network with an Airport Extreme as the access point for the wireless network

Can I use the Ethernet Port of the A1264 Airport Express to connect to the Ethernet port of a computer that does not have wireless capability when the Airport Express is also used on a wireless network with an Airport Extreme 5th generation as the access point for the network?
I have AE 5th gen
looking to buy (from ebay) the AEX A1264
Various computers, printers and hubs for the network
Is this possible to do?

Bob, Thanks for the info. I have read different articles that said yes, but I wanted to make sure before I commit to buy. I have an older A1084 which I could not use the Ethernet port. I know at one point I was able to when I was on 10.4. Now that I am on an Intel processor and 10.8 I am going to have to upgrade some of my Apple wireless hardware.

Missing 2X points for games purchase

Unless I am missing something,I am not receiving the 2X points bonus for purchasing new games as a Gamers Club member.
The first transaction was 12/27/14 for 79.98 which I only see receiving 79 points for.
The second was on 11/28/14 for 44.98 which I show receiving 44 points for.
Hoping to get these transactions corrected along with any going forward.

Bonus points for pre-ordering X-Men: Days of Future Past

I ordered this blu-ray the same day as I did for Captain America: The Winter's Soldier. I received my 100 bonus points for Captain America a few weeks ago. However, when I checked my account this morning for the bonus points on X-Men, it only showed 1 point (instead of 100). I was wondering what happened to it. Thanks for any info you can offer.

We did have a promotion between 8/31/2014 and 9/6/2014 that was offering 100 bonus points with select pre-orders. This offer was only available on BestBuy.com, there was a limit of 100 bonus points per title, and a maximum of 600 bonus points per member. If your pre-order of X-Men: Days of Future Past was placed while the offer was valid, then 100 bonus points should post to your My Best Buy account within about 20 days. You may not see those bonus points emerge as pending or post until after your pre-order is fulfilled.
If you do not see 100 bonus points post to your My Best Buy account within 20 days of your pre-order being shipped or picked up, then please feel free to send me a private message and I will see what I can do to help. Is there a point in buying HD movies on iTunes?

I have a 13.3" MacBook Pro, Basic model. I was browsing movies on iTunes and was thinking of buying one. It's $9.99 for the regular version and $12.99 for the HD version. My husband said there's no point in buying the HD version as my computer will show the exact same quality. Is he correct???

My laptop is less than a month old, if that helps. I just got it last month (Apple Store).

After you click to make a purchase there can be another pop-up asking to confirm your actions and warning that you playment option will be charged. This box has a "Do not ask me again" option which you may have selected at some point. Reset all warnings should make such suppressed warnings appear once again.

Missing bonus points for South Park?

94 points was added to my pending points...I thought 500 was going to be pending? Do I get both the 94 points and a 10 dollar certificate? I talked to someone yesterday, THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. I called the elite hotline today, the person said they were gonna check up on me, but never came back to the phone and the call ended.
I am getting tired of bestbuy's customer service. Can you tell me how this 10 dollar promo works? I saw a post about the titanfall console bundle, how a rep said they would receive the 10 dollars and the points for the console. If I get a 10 dollar certificate and the 94 points, thats awesome. I just want somoene to clarify. I want to use this certificate towards infamous second son.

For the Get $10 promotion points will post to a customer's account in about 20 days after the purchase. While it is common for these points to appear as pending on a My Best Buy account, they may not.
