Policy replication to satelite servers

If a policy currently replicated to all satellite servers and a change is made to that policy but NOT incremented, will the "changed" policy be updated in the satellite's content repo?
We need to make a change to our current DLU policy but do not want to increment it thus preventing it from updating on all current managed devices. We want the 'changed' policy to only apply to devices registered after the policy was updated.

  • MBAM Policy Template on DC servers

    Hello,
    I have a question about install MBAM Policy Template on DC servers.
    when i install policy template on DC primary server, policy can not replicate on other DC-s.
    i read about this in technet. i found the solution which is add MBAM .admx and .adml files in GPO Central Store in library http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn659707.aspx.
    But i have problem, because  Microsoft says to move the .admx and .adml MBAM templates in the specified path
     %systemroot%\sysvol\domain\policies\PolicyDefinitions
    But in my DC-s i have only path %systemroot%\sysvol\domain\policies\(this
    place is a lot of files with names like "bushes"
    Help me where i must paste MBAM .admx and .adml templates.

    Fir you need to re-direct your group policy management to a central store. At this time when you open the group policy management console and edit a policy, you can notice that the group policy objects been fetched from the local store.
    You need to copy the entire folder "PolicyDefinition" from the location "%systemdrive%\Windows\PolicyDefinition" to "\\DC\Sysvol\DomainName\Policies".
    After that you will notice that the group policies will be fetched from central store and will be replicated to other DCs.

  • Reset Group Policy Replication

    I have 2 domain servers.  They both, when configured, were set to replicate to one another.  Changes on one get changed on the other and vice versa.  It would appear now that my Group Policy is not getting replicated.  If I am under Group
    Policy Manager and I right click on my domain, and change the domain server from server 1 to server 2, I show that the GPO are all old.  If I look at server 1 everything is the way it should be.  The problem I am having is some of my workstations
    are pulling their GPO from server 2.  How can I reset the replication so that server 2 will pull everything that server 1 has, and go back to the way it use to be where changes to 1 changed the other.
    Also I ran dcdiag and I get this and got a lot of errors about DFS Replication.  Any advice would be great as I didn't set these servers up and am still learning.  Everything I read talks about opening the DFS Management console but I dont show
    that on either of my domain servers.
    Thanks in advance.

    I went back and reread and tried this all again.  I know this is an old post and hopefully it still reaches you.  Here is what I got from the last command of wevtutil

  • Management Store Replication to Edge Servers

    I have an issue with replication of the Management Store to Edge Servers.
    In four separate countries I have a Enterprise FE pool and an Edge Pool segregated by a firewall in each country. Only in one country does the Management Store replicate to the Edge Server successfully (see below).
    The bottom two entries with a status of "True" are for the FE and Edge that replicate OK.
    From all the FE servers I can telnet to to their partner Edge server on port 4443 and I can browse to the replication service on https://servername.fqdn:4443/replicationwebservice. The certificates look fine too.
    If I run the Lync Server logging tool on the failing Edge servers and force replication from a FE server with Invoke-CsManagementStoreReplication there is nothing showing up in the XDS_Replica_Replicator log at all. If I do the same on the good Edge server
    I get a whole bunch of stuff in the log.
    I thought maybe it was a firewall issue but I have subsequently opened up the source IP range on my firewall rules to allow all to speak to the Edge servers' internal interface on 4443. Still nothing.
    From the timestamps in the above screenshot you can see that the Edge severs have at least once reported back to the FE servers as the LastStatusReport value is not null but you can also see that that was a long time ago.
    Any ideas?

    By any chance you see SHENNEL errors in Eventviewer of the Edge server?. I've see the exact thing happening when the edge internal certificate is not trusted by the Front End server.
    http://thamaraw.com
    I get a couple of Schannel errors regarding TLS 1.2 but then I get the exact same errors on the Edge server that replicates OK so I don't think that's an issue. Also if the FE didn't trust the cert of the Edge surely I wouldn't be able to browse to the replication
    web service on the Edge, which I can?

  • MSCS H/A enqueue, replication and message servers services

    Hi,
      I'm looking at the documentation about "Installation of multiple SAP Systems in MSCS: MSSQL Server" but I have a few questions about the SCS and ASCS process.
    Are the process setup as generic cluster service?  Or are they SAP provided cluster services?
    What monitoring is done with the the enqueue, replication and message server services in the cluster?

    Mike,
    The SAPINST installer will install SCS and ASCS services into MSCS for you.  They are installed inside the SAP group in cluster.
    The message servers, controlled by either SCS is HA with MSCS.  The enqueue services is HA with installation of ERS locally on both nodes.  SCS + ERS + ERS provides a triangular HA that means the services is always on and can withstand an cluster failover.  The cluster only controls the SCS service.  The ERS services are local to each server.
    Let me know if I did not answer the question.

  • Portal Replication Across Global Servers

    I am creating a Portal site in the US. This same site needs to be accessed in Indonesia, and it has been suggested to replicate the Portal site in Indonesia considering download times, etc. I have replicated regular website, but never a Portal. What would this entail? What kind of replication procedures are provided or would be needed?
    Regards,
    Kendra

    I don't recommend this approach. There are lots of references from one entry to another in the directory and so renaming the suffix is not that simple. In addition, the directory contains host names, domain names, and other information that is not going to be consistent with your Windows host. I would say it's possible, but probably not practical in a reasonable time frame.
    The recommended way to do development with the Sun Portal is to create some build scripts that can be used for different environments. This way you can simply create a "build" and run your scripts on various deployment targets. This creates a repeatable process that avoids the types of problems you are running into.
    Take a look at the ANT build scripts that are used to create the sample portals. There is a wealth of information there that will help you understand how to use scripts to create and deploy your portal. You will also have a really good understanding of the difference between Access Manager tasks and Portal Server tasks once you digest that information.

  • Database Mirroring and Replication in SQL Server 2008 R2

    I have configured the mirroring and replication between 4 servers (A,B,C,D).i.e, Mirroring between A to B and C to D, Replication between A and C. The configuration was a success and I am able test the replication(B to C) when I have failed over the mirroring
    dbs(A to B). The replication works fine after the mirroring fail over but I am not able to check its status in the Replication monitor. When I am having any insert in a table which is replicated in B, it is reflected back to C..it means the replication is
    working fine.
    Any thought on how I can view the status of replication from mirrored server. I tried adding the publisher in the monitor, but no luck. If I check the snapshot agent status, it says could not retrieve the info, same with the log reader agent status.
    Any suggestions on this please.
    Thanks, Siri

    For example in your case...
    Server A is principal and Server B is Mirror with either Manual or Automatic Failover.
    Server A is replicated to Server B ( publisher & B is subscriber )
    In Server A Database named Test_Mirror_Replication is configured for both mirroring and Replication.
    Now you have failed over your Database 'Test_Mirror_Replication' from Server A to Server B.
    After the Failover Server A will act as Mirror for DB 'Test_Mirror_Replication' & Server B will act as Principal for DB 'Test_Mirror_Replication'
    Hope my understanding is correct ?
    If yes then have you tried monitoring the replication after registering in other instance with current principal database sql instance name ? I mean current Publisher database name sql instance ? not your old sql instance name which was before the mirroring
    role change or failover...
    Hope you are trying with mirror database server name ?

  • DFS - The replication group cannot be created - insufficient permissions - NOT DOMAIN ADMIN, LOCAL ADMIN

    Hi,
    I am trying to setup DFS replication on tow servers. I am local admin on the servers but NOT domain account. Is it possible to create Replication group anyway? or should i contact the Domain administrator to the job?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    We cannot use local administrator to create a dfs replication group. By default, Domain Admins group can create a dfs replication group. You could also delegate to a user or group the ability to create replication groups and the user must add to the local Administrators
    group on the namespace server.

  • ACS 4.2 Database replication issue

    Hello Experts,
    Hope you are all doing well. I need your help in ACS database replication, I want to do replication between ACS servers. The issue i am facing is that there is no error in ACS replication log. It just says outbound replication started. and sits there no other error message is shown. I can successfully telnet secondary server's destination port 2000. But when i hit the replication button from primary server, i do not observe any hit count on my ASA ACL on which i allowed tcp 2000 for destination secondary server.I also checked my syslog server if there is any traffic denied between these 2 ACS servers but found nothing. I also did wireshark captures on the interfaces but no traffic is initiated when i press replicate now button. Initially i thought its a machine issue, but same behavior is shown when i swapped primary----to secondary. There are other applications running on both the servers which requires JAVA. Like Cisco IME etc. Can it be JAVA issue? Please help me out. i am using Release 4.2(0) Build 124 on both servers.Attached below is the Replication LOG snapshot,

  • Transactional Replication: Non-Clustered Indexes not copying.

    Hello,
    I set up replication on our servers at work to streamline some procedures we run daily/weekly on them.
    This copies around 15 articles from two databases on the "Master" server to another server used for execution purposes. For the most part it was a pretty straight forward task and it seemed to work nicely; but I realised after some investigation that the
    non-clustered indexes weren't copying over to the child server.
    I set the non-clustered indexes property in the properties of the publishing articles to "True" and generated a new snapshot, this seemed to work, but I've come into work this morning to find the property has reset to "False" and I have no indexes on the
    table again. Why is this happening and is there any way I can resolve the matter so the indexes are copied over concurrently?
    Thanks in advance for your advice.
    JB

    I actually solved this.
    You can use a post-replication SQL script to create the indexes. Whatever articles you're publishing open up the indexes drop down list of the article in object explorer, right-click on an index and hover over Script Index as, then Create-to, then click
    New Query Window editor.
    Up will pop up a new query window with the resulting index. Work your way through all the indexes on all the articles of the publication, copy and pasting just the create index line and below of each script, pull them all together into one query window.
    Once you're done find a safe folder somewhere on your harddrive and save the SQL query as an .sql file with a sensible name.
    Right click on the publication and goto properties. Click on the "Snapshot" tab, in there; there should be a section saying "Run additional scripts". Choose the browse button next to "After applying the Snapshot; execute this script:"
    Navigate to your script file and choose it. Once done click ok and it'll prompt you that something has changed and if you'd like to generate a new snapshot, make sure you do or it won't work.
    That's it, you'll find once the publication has bulk copied over the the subscriptions successfully there are non clustered indexes on the tables. Pretty simple!

  • Session in-memory replication problem

    Hi,
              I am running into some cluster HttpSession replication problems. Here is
              the scenario where replication fails (all servers mentioned here are a
              part of a cluster).
              1a - 2 Weblogic servers (A&B) are running - no users logged in,
              2a - user logs in and a new session in server A is created.
              3a - after several interactions, server A is killed.
              4a - after user makes susequent request, Weblogic correctly fails over
              to server B
              Problem: Not entire session data is replicated. The authentication info
              seems to
              be replicated correctly but there are some collections in the session of
              server A
              that did not make it to the session in server B.
              The interesting part is this: If there is only one server A running to
              begin with and a user
              interacts with it for a while and only then server B is started, when
              after server B starts up
              server A dies - the entire session (which is exactly the same as in the
              failing scenario) is
              corretly replicated in B, including collections that were missing in the
              failing scenario.
              How can this be possible ????
              Thanks for any info on this one - it really puzzles me.
              Andrew

    Yes, you are on the right track. Everytime you modify the object you should call
              putValue. We will make it more clear in the docs.

  • Replication scenario

    Hello,
    I would like to use the following replication model :
    5 servers. Each in write mode. So all have to be master configured
    <---> : multi-replication
    -----> : one way replication
    M1 <--> M2
    M3 <--> M4
    M1 ----> M3
    M1 ----> M4
    M2 ----> M3
    M2 ----> M4
    M3 ----> M5
    M4 ----> M5
    Is it a possible configuration ?

    Current version of the directory server (5.2P4) does not support more than 4 masters. If you omit M5 (perhaps you can make it a consumer), then all the other combinations are possible. This is btw called a fully meshed configuration. You actaully don't need to have a full mesh in order to provide fail over but nevertheless it is entirely legal.
