Policy with vbscript to change the location

I would like to know if its possible to make a script in vbscript inside of a policy of zesm which changes the location of the client after testing any event like reading registry. If it is possible...what object of vbscript i should use to do it? I have read in manuals of zesm some lines of code like Action.WiFiDisabledState, Action.Trace...to manage properties of the policy
Thanks and regards :)

No, an external drive will not always be mounted. If the drive goes to sleep, it can unmount, or it may unmount for other reasons. As Chris said, confim that the drive is mounted and active before launching iTunes.

  • Folder redirection with Offline files enabled - Can I change the location of the locally cached files?

I have a 2012 r2 server setup with folder redirection and offline files enabled. All this works perfectly.
As you probably know, the local cache for offline files is stored at c:\windows\csc\v2.0.6\namespace\servername\
The problem I have run into is that one user (who cannot be told to delete files cough ceo cough) has a very large documents folder, and a small SSD drive for his C drive. So the offline files are filling up his SSD. He wants all his files to be synced,
so decreasing the max disk usage is also not an option.
What I would like to do is move the Offline files to his D drive which is a large drive, however I have been unable to find any official method for doing this. Is there any provision to change this?
If not, would it work to move the entire \servername\ path to the d drive and then create a junction at c:\windows\csc\v2.0.6\namespace\servername\ that points to d:\servername\?
    Thanks,
    Travis

    Hi,
The following article is for Windows Vista but it should work at least in Windows 7.
How to change the location of the CSC folder by configuring the CacheLocation registry value in Windows Vista
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937475
Meanwhile creating a symbolic link should also work like:
    mklink /d "C:\Windows\CSC" "D:\CSC"
Note: It will create d:\csc folder so you do not need to manually create it.
Note 2: As mentioned above, you may need to re-sync the offline files. Personally I also think robocopy will not work.

I have moved my library to an external hard drive and changed the location of the iTunes media folder in Preferences, but every time I close and re-open iTunes, I have to do it all over again.  How can I make the iTunes media folder change permanent?  I have an older machine with Windows XP.

I don't believe mounting the hard drive should be necessary, unless you have several external drives and want your computer to recognise them as folders, rather than drives. I've never had to mount a hard drive, ever. If you don't know how to do it, then it shouldn't be necessary now.
    Try this:
Prepare iTunes so that it can see the external drive.
Make a note of which drive-letter the external drive has been allocated. (Look in Windows Exploer)
Look at the file location for a song. Make sure it plays (and therefore that iTunes has found it). Highlight it and select File/Get Info/Summary>Where: and make a note of the drive letter for that song.
Close and shut down the computer.
The next time you turn the computer on again, connect the external drive
Before you start iTunes - check the external drive in Windows Explorer. Is it ready, does it have the same drive-letter that it had last time? Can you go into the drive and see the files on it?
Once you can, start iTunes. (If the drive lettter has changed, you need to work out why before going any further.)
If iTunes fails to find your external drive, you need to check where iTunes is looking for your Library.
Select the same song you checked before (presumably iTunes can no longer find it). Follow the procedure for locating it. You should be able to see where iTunes thinks the file is. It's the drive that counts. Which drive letter is iTunes looking at? Is it the same one that it was previously (which should also be the same one that the drive has now).
What happens, which step do you have problems with?

  • Is it possible to change the location of the Oracle logo

I need to change the location of the Oracle logo in home page from left to right side. We tried to edit in common .css and failed. Please help.

The logo is in it's own table cell - so css will not work (can't change the order of table columns using css). You could possibly replace the logo image on the server with a single white pixel (create a custom skin if you want), then add a new background image to the table (class is HeaderTopBar) aligned right and no repeat using CSS. You would need to pad out that right side somehow to make it align (the last cell has class HeaderPageStatus and contains the status image).

    no

iCloud only give so much space for free storage, then if you exceed the limit of 5gb you have to pay for additional storage.

  • How to change the location of all fotos in the iPhoto library?

my iPhoto 11 library is stored locally on my macbook.
however, my fotos (the actualy bits) are stored externally on a NAS box.
(or in other words: option "Importing: [ ] Copy items to the iPhoto Library" is not checked)
recently i purchased a timecapsule and i now want to move all fotos from the NAS box to the timecapsule.
i am looking for a way to batch-change the location of all fotos from let's say "/Volumes/MyNas/..." to "/Volumes/MyTimecapsule/...".
can this be done? any ideas?
    thank you.
ps: i know how to deal with xml and .db/.apdb files. so don't be gentle on me ;-)

Not really unless you search the forums and find the older post describing how to hack the SQLite database to accomplish this
Or use Aperture which can do this easily
However if you are using your Time Capsule as a Time Machine bakcup volume it is not a good place to put your photos - if you do you have no backup of them which means that sooner of later you will lsoe them - and sooner or later TM will fill the volume and make it impossible to add photos

  • How do I change the location of my songs?

I've done this in the past, and its worked. But this time, using iTunes 10, it didn't. Has something changed?
I had almost 1000 songs on an external drive. Got a new mac with plenty of local disc space, so I copied all the files over to my Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Music/ folder. I then edited the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file to bulk-change the location from the old area to the new. Brought up iTunes and all my songs were still there... But when I did a "Get Info" they were still being referenced in the old area. The line for each song was changed from:
    <key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/Volumes/FW%20Drive%20(G5)/ITunes%20Music/mp3/'Til%20Tuesday/Everything's%20Different%20Now/01%20Every thing's%20Different%20Now.m4a</string>
    to:
    <key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/Users/alfredo/Music/iTunes/iTunes%20Music/Music/'Til%20Tuesday/Everything's%20Different%20Now/01%20Everything's%20Different%20No w.m4a</string>
It appears that iTunes stepped on my changes when it came up.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks

    I found the solution here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1449
It did require a transfer of all my songs, but instead of me doing it, iTunes did it for me and reset itself to see them in the new location. No hand-editing of xml files required.

  • How can I change the location where iTunes saves iOS 5.1, new data, synchronized apps and other data?

My hard drive C is full. I changed the location of the mediathek to an external hard drive F and moved all media data there. Also, I synchronized my iPad with this new set-up. So far, everything worked out well.
Now, why is iTunes stll saving data, like the much needed iOS 5.1, to C? This actually makes it impossible for me to finally update my iPad, because my C drive is simply full!
Also, iTunes does not synchronize my iPad apps or my photos. When I try to synchronize them manually, iTunes starts to save data to my C drive. How can I change that to my external drive F?
In a nutshell, how can I move iTunes once and for all to my external hard drive F (or at least, to a different hard drive on my computer)? There is simply no space on my C drive for it at all.
Thankyou so much for an answer, I am literally going nuts right now!

I found the app that I'm looking for it's called sensor kinetics pro and the link is

  • HT201210 Why can't I change the location of my device backups?

Why can't I change the location of my device backups?
iTunes seems to force me to use my c:\ drive as the destination for all backups.
Background: I have set up my c:\ drive only for programs - all data is stored on separate drives - including my iTunes library and all media. So, I can't skinny down the c:\ drive any more without uninstalling programs.
The issue is that my 10,000 rpm, 280 GB - C:\ drive is fast but small and is now FULL after I got about 1/2 way through a 128 GB backup of my ipad.  (Yes, all movies have been deleted off of the iPad to minimize the size of the backup.)
I deleted the partial iPad backup, moved all the Mobile Applications to another drive, emptied the recycle bin and tried again with my much smaller iPhone.  You guessed it: the io7 update hung and both of my devices are now paper weights.
Which leaves me f*cked, anyone know how I can un-f myself?

iTunes movies are not part of an iDevice backup.
Videos & photos you take with the camera (in the Camera roll) are part of the backup but those should be sync'd to the computer and removed from the camera roll.

  • How do you change the location of where your photos are stored?

How do you go about changing the location of where your iPhoto files are housed?  I'm running out of space on one drive and want to move them all over to a drive that can house all of the current (and future) photos?

Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

  • How can I change the location for the backup from iphone to itunes?

How can I change the location for the backup from iphone to itunes? I want to backup to my external harddisk and not the computer itself. How do I do it?

Moving the iOS device backup location
Open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up, or with Start > Run on older Windows.
To move the current backup folder from C: to D: (for example) type in this command and press <Enter>
    Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
Where <User> is your Windows user name.
To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command and press <Enter>
    MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
If your preferred drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "D:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.
If you have Windows XP then you'll need a third-party tool such as Junction to link the two locations together instead of the MkLink command. The source folder is C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

  • How to change the location of footnotes?

I want to change the locations my footnotes.
Instead of a footnote beneath the box, I want to place it in a different textbox.
Most easily is to make a textbox on a masterpage and link it with the footnote 'placer'.
I have attached a sample of I want to display my footnotes. Just beneath the page - separately -
Thank you very much for reading my question. I hope somebody knows the answer.

    Thank you for your reply.
Q: "What would you do if there are two or more notes in a column?"
A: Add one or two more line in the textbox on the master page, plus noting more sources next to each other. Which makes it possible to note approximately 12 sources.
But really? No way to I can get InDesign's footnotes outside the story's frame? Noway?!
Really sure about that? I use Adobe CC and I cannot believe that it isn't possible. Serious? I thought you can make every kind of lay-out with InDesign.

are you looking to move the bloated Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup file?  i had this same problem (my iTunes points to an external drive, but the default Backup Profile is still stored locally, and with a 64GB iPhone, it's killing my hard drive.  here's what i found!
there are several posts about this, none are apple sanctioned it appears, all work arounds.  read these:

the last one has the most simple directions i think.  here's the direct link to his blog post (i can't take credit!)
    http://pep-p.com/wp/?p=44
basically you will "Create a symbolic directory link using the mklink command".  no software to install, just a little dos editing.
    best of luck!
