Poll: How much music do you ha

So the thread "Computer Illiterate and looking to buy mini Zen" inspired me to a new forum topic, and a quick search showed nothing, so I'm wondering:
How much music (gb or number-wise) do you have?
While I don't have access to my music at home right now, I think I'm somewhere in the neighborhood of 2gb worth (not sure exactly how many songs that is.) I know I can only fit like 000 of em on my Zen Micro, so I've got to be kindof picky when it comes to deciding which songs stay home and which come with me.

IS this all ripped music, or do you just have a fiber line to the nearest internet factory?
lol...

  • Survey : How much music do you have on your 160 iPod Classic ?

I am still having problems, filling up my 160 GB iPod Classic. So I am interested, if there is anybody who has been able to utilize the full 148 GB.
    My Status :
127,000 Songs (104 GB) Runs fine
127,500 Songs (105 GB) iPod no longer plays songs (shows a big amount of 'other' space used in Settings/About - can not find songs, artists albums etc.), even after iPod restart.

Well, this could be a *very* difficult thread for me to answer, seems as my music taste can be quite varied. Well, most of the music I have can be put in the realms of "metal", but then there are soundtracks and other groups I have in the collection that don't quite correlate.
My mood doesn't generally wholly affect what I'm listening to, although it can affect my mood *when* I listen to things. I know what... I'll put some of my favourite songs down... and you can all deem for yourselves what my music taste is like.

  • How much music should you transfer in one session on zen xt

I tried to transfer 9gs of wma files to my zen xtra in one long continuous session.By track 7 mediasource was telling me it cant create file over and over for each song. I finally gave up. I have 52 of memory on my 2.4 gateway computer. Is it possible my memory cant take over 5000 songs transferring in one session?Im going to try transferring one track amount at a time which is about 350 songs and then i will disconnect and try for track 2 in a few hours.Does this sound like the way to go? thanks Matt

A few days ago, I transferred 4.5 GB of MP3s to my Zen Xtra 40 GB overnight. The only problems I encountered were when I has two tracks with the same artist, album and name.
I read in the instructions that you're not supposed to leave the player connected to the PC for long periods, as it builds up some heat while the HD spins constantly. My solution for times when I do this is to stand the player up in front of an air conditioner or fan, back facing the airflow. The Xtra's shell is a heatsink for the dri've, so if you can keep the shell cool, the dri've stays cool.

  • How much music can you fit into iTunes...

    Hi
I've got an external hard drive with 1TB of music, in theory, could I import all of this to iTunes, then use an AirPort Express and stream it to my stero still?
So... Would iTunes be able to cope with 1TB of music in its library?

    There's a claim for a 1.8 Tb library here.

  • How much music can I store on 4s 8GB (hrs or # tunes)?

How much music can I store on iPhone s 8 GB (# hours and/or # of standard length tunes)?

After subtracting overhead you will have about 6 GB available, assuming you have no other apps, no email, no text messages that you save, no calendar, no notes, etc. in 6 GB you can fit about 600 standard length (3-4 minutes) songs at 10 MB each. As you add apps and data this number will drop.

  • How much music, videos, and pictures can an 8gb iphone 4 hold?

how much music, videos, and music can an iphone 4 hold?

If you look in itunes at the bottom it will say how long the total list of music will play for and how big it is. eg. 1.00GB.
Make sure you are in the (main)Music folder, though otherwise it will only tell you the info for that playlist or whatever you are looking at.
As posted earlier "You need to do your own math, music and videos have wide differences in  size. More short songs and more short videos can be placed on the  iPhone. The number of media does not matter, it is the size (data, GB)  of the media that matters."

  • How much time do you spent in Vocals Recording and Mixing?

I would like to know, how much time do you spent in Vocals Recording and Mixing?
I mean, you do doubles and then the are not that correct you record it again and maybe a third version and then you mix it, you cut and arrange some phrases and words so that it is in sync .....
How much time do you spent in this process until you say: This is enough! Because, somehow. you can always do more and try harder and do it again and try this ....
    Thanks to all your comments

If it's taking a singer longer than that, they are not prepared, or it's just not their day
or theyre just so completely horrible to start with and have no business singing in the first place, hahahaha.
sorry jim, i couldnt help it:-)
the better paying and the higher profile the gig, theres really a gamut of singers youll encounter. theres a very well known pop artist i work with that honestly doesnt even get CLOSE to usable vocs until theyve been in there warming up for around 6hrs (takes them this long to get the four other very loud overtones in their voice down to about ONE very loud overtone), and you take takes on them just because you never know. (seriously, 6hrs) but you do it because it pays really well, whats a day of time when you get it back a few times over?? (btw, with this person, theres usually about 20-25 takes to go through when comping a voc, so make that TWO days:-( )
that would be my biggest gauge of how long i spend honestly, the money, unless i have a personal investment in it myself. youll know pretty quickly if youre in trouble or not with a singer. if theyre bad (pitch or timing) but paying well, i will rely on my skills in melodyne to save the day:-) i know what i can do in it and can hear what the singer can or cant do with their voice. sad thing is, the best singers usually arent the ones with record deals.
i know the money gauge prob sounds cold, but for the most part thats the deciding factor. of course there are times you come across real talent and take the experience of working and creating with them over the money, but MOST of the time in this 'business' we dont always have that luxury. plus if youre just starting out, i would take just about ANY gig just to be able to do it and gain the experience, you dont want a really important gig being your maiden voyage in melodyne:-)
i would also go with jims recommendation in melodyne. MD studio lets you use key commands to work (plugin doesnt) and its actually sounds better than the plug itself.
as far as mixing, i cant answer that, i usually dont mix. i will if im the last resort. i would be really discouraged if i couldnt get the mix in a day, with a relisten and tweaks the next day for a couple hours. i sort of mix as i go along just so i can hear everything in its place.
my 2 cents is done with now:-)

  • How much data do you generally use a month?

Hi everybody. So i am another guy who's getting the iphone 5 at a discount price.. .
I know they are gonna take my unlimmited data away, and i'll be force to choose the 2GB/$30 a moth, so i was curious too know how much data do i use per month, if 2GB was enough for me. It seems like it, i use 500 MB average a month. But having LTE means more speed, more data, so hopefully 2GB will cover my needs. How about you guys? how much data do you use a month?

My usage patterns vary, but 1-5GB a month is normal for me.
Note that people who participate on forums may not be a good representation of the general population.  We tend to use our mobile technology so much that we are on our carriers' forums.
Also more likely to use our mobile data plan to access those forums. I know I do.
As for usage. 2-6 GB per month depending how much I use it.

  • How much time do you get on video on I pad

How much time do you get on video on the IPad 2?

Can't really answer that.  It depends on how much storage space you have. A 16Gb iPad will obviously have less space to store a video than a 64GB iPad.
The only limitation is your storage space.
At about 100KB per second you are looking at many many hours even on a 16GB iPad.

  • How much MB do you need to update to iOS 6.1.3

How much MB do you need to update to iOS 6.1.3?

You'll need more space to install.
Do you not have enough free storage space?
How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.
How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

  • How much music can an 8gb ipod touch hold?

How much music does an 8gb ipod touch hold? I have 200 songs and the capacity is already full and going over.

About 1,500 in 128-Kbps AAC format
What forma/compresssion are your songs? The 128 ACC format is more compressed than "normal" songs.

  • How much music does a 7th generation ipod nano hold?

I know you can't know for sure but if you have nothing other then music how much should it be able to store?

You still can't tell for sure; the number of songs it will hold depends on the iPod's capacity as well as the length and bitrate of each song.

  • How Much Control Do You Hove Over Migration Assistant?

I am finally getting around to installing Leopard and plan to do an Erase and Install to a partition on my firewire external drive and tinker with things over there before copying that image via SuperDuper to my iBook. In the meantime I can continue using Tiger for my day to day activities without interruption.
How much control do I have over what Migration Assistant moves? I definitely want to move my documents photos and music, but because I have a corrupted user account and at least one broken app (QuickTime - I've tried fixing this numerous times without success and I'm tired of messing with it), I don't want to move either the affected account or the broken apps, which are in all accounts, because I would just be replicating these problems in Leopard. Obviously reinstalling all of the app because of a couple that are messed up is a little extreme, but this also gives me a chance to eliminate those apps I'm actually not using on a regular basis.
Also I will always have a SuperDuper backup of my latest Tiger image to refer to as I boot into Leopard for some shakedown testing.
    -Bill

Migration Assistant doesn't give you THAT much flexibility. you can choose to migrate whole user accounts and/or all applications. if you want finder control you have to migrate things by hand. use this post as a guide

  • How much music can a Powerbook hold?

I have a 17 inch Powerbook G4 with the 512 MB it came with. I received an ipod for my birthday and would like to load it up with music. My music collection is around 400 CD's, How much will my laptop hold?

The final number will depend on the level of compression you used on the music. Let's say you ripped them at 160kb/sec. Using MP3, it will take up a certain amount of space. Using AAC, probably less space. Using AIFF, much more space. Or if you just look at MP3, it will take up less space (with lower quality) at a lower bitrate, or take up more space (with higher quality) at a higher bitrate. My library is 13GB for 1800 songs, mostly ripped at default settings.
About your PowerBook you said "with the 512MB it came with." That has no bearing on the capacity of the iPod, because you're talking about RAM. You need to know how many GB are on the PowerBook's hard drive, because that's where the music is stored. Select your disk icon and do a Get Info on it, see how much free space is available, subtract about 5-10GB because you should always leave that much free, and whatever's left is how much space you have for more files. The disk in a PowerBook is usually much larger than the disk in an iPod, so you will probably be OK unless you have already stuffed the PowerBook with files.
