  • Which tomcat version  to be used for  jdk6?

    Hi
Which jdk version is best compatible for Tomcat5.0? Can I use jdk6 ? Also tell me which is the most suitable tomcat version to be used for jdk6. Also tell me what are all the Tomcat settings (environmental variables etc.) to be made before running the web applications?
    Thanks in advance.

    I mean can i use tomcat5.0 with jdk6.Yes.
The JVM you are using is pretty much irrelevant as long as it is above the minimum. For Tomcat5, thats JDK1.4 I think.
The problem is not with JDK6, it will be with your understanding of Tomcat.
but the programs i put in the web-apps folder with root directory(say firstapp) are not runningThe ROOT directory is the "default" web app. Not the place where you should deploy new web applications.
All your web applications (with a WEB-INF directory in them) should be off the folder "webapps"
    [Tomcat 5 docs|http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/appdev/deployment.html]
Having said that, IMO you should be using at least Tomcat 5.5, and possibly even Tomcat 6 if you want the latest version.

  • Which Security version is Safari using for a secure connection

Now that SSL 3.0 can be compromised, how can I determine which security version Safari is using:
TLS 1.2, TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.0.  Is there a way to force Safari to use at least TLS 1.0?

Thanks for the enormous amount of information.
Unlike Firefox, I do not see how to force Safari NOT to use SSL 3.0.
If that info was in your response, I must have missed it.
So once again: Is there a way to force Safari (using preferences) to use TLS 1.0 or higher?

  • Which SATA drivers do you use for nForce3 chipset?

Windows Generic or the ones that come with the nForce3 drivers?
When using the nForce drivers, my hard drive operates louder and the light appears to be flickering a lot more (indicating more hdd access) when compared to the Windows XP drivers.
Which do you use? What should I be using? I remember reading some threads that said nForce SATA drivers suck... but that was months ago.
    Thanks for any info
(Please note that I am NOT, I repeat, NOT talking about RAID, just standard serial ATA)

  • Which CPU Cooler did you use for your CPU?

Hi guys, just wondering, what CPU Cooler did you use in your mega 865?
Did you use the Intel or the MSI CPU cooler?
Which do you think is better?
I used the MSI CPU Cooler, Which I think is better cause it has a copper base which can transfer heat faster. Also the heatsink must have been designed for the case too.

    ^
The Mega 865 came with an additional "extra page" on how to install the Intel CPU Heat Sink into the 865, so it could be that msi thought that intel's solution was better? The manual of course had how to install the msi heat sink, so rather than printing the manual again, they provided an extra information sheet.

  • When you purchase another apple product, which set up do you use? New, back up from iCloud or iTunes?

Which set up do I use when another apple product is purchased? New, back up from iCloud or iTunes?

It depends on if it is a replacement for an older device.   If so, then set-up as new from backup.
If you are using both devices, they can be set up as separate devices, yet sync information through your iCloud account.

  • Which calendar app do you use for multiple calendars?

    Hello and Happy New Year!
    Here's my situation:  I am iPhone5S, iPad2 & MacBookPro13; DH is Droid& Dell and children are iPad Minis & Dell.  Their PCs run Win7 & 8.
DH & I use Google calendar to organize our schedules.  Now all 3 kids have Minis and I want to allow them to see their appointments and our goings-on for the week on their calendars (we homeschool).
I see that Apple doesn't allow you to assign one event to multiple calendars.  For instance, DH & I need to know that Boy#3 has bball practice on Tues & Thurs nights but so does said child.  So, ideally, I'd love to assign our main calendar that event AND the "Boys Calendar."  Would even be cool for each kid to have his own calendar but I won't split hairs at this point.
Here's the rub: I don't want the kids to have access to our main calendar on Google.  DH & I have finally got it down and coordinated and I don't want them screwing it up or seeing our events.  Some of them are private and just between hubs and me, if you know what I mean.    I'd like my kids to open up their calendar and only have appts on it that pertain to them and their week/month.  And I'd like to be able to see it all - even if it means I see duplicate events on a given day which indicate that the event is on two different calendars.  Sort of like the colors of iCal but with the ability for the kids to just see their colors.
Does anyone use a good app that allows you to pick which calendar to assign an event to, even multiple calendars?  I tried Fantastical but it doesn't let me assign to different calendars. Any.do is a don't for me.
Would love any feedback on what you've used successfully to organize your family.
Thanks so much!  I appreciate your kind and considerate feedback.
    Warmly (literally),
    Kim in Phx

Right? I know. This just seems utterly ridiculous to me in this day and age. Maybe I'm mistaken but I was under the impression that there has to be an app that does this for people. I mean, how hard can this be? I wonder if I just keep my main calendar and invite my kids to their events. I wonder if that will work?  I really don't want to be creating three different calendars copying and pasting events and trying to juggle 4 different calendars.  How cool would it be to have everybody assigned their own calendar and then the master calendar can decide who to assign the events to?  Like in iCal when you go to assign the calendar, instead of having one option, you could have all the calendars as options. I have two boys to do karate together, one boy who does basketball alone, and one boy who does flag football alone.   I'd love to put karate on the schedule and then just assign it to the two calendars of the boys who are taking tae kwon do now.  Create one event and then you decide which calendars to list it on.
I'll keep looking to see if anything is out there but I'm not sure that it can cross both iOS and PC platforms.
I really appreciate your info and the time you took.
    Thank you so much,
    Kim

  • Which synths (hardware) do you use for electronica?

I own practically all of the soft synths that are currently out there. However, I have yet to find convincing deep fat bass sounds and fear I may not be able to unless I buy some hardware. I've used Spectrasonics, Arturia, NI, GMedia, and the Albino, just so you know. I am looking at the Virus TI, Juno, Harmman, and Clavia. Please comment if you have used the above soft synths to get good analog-type fatness and offer advice on how to get these. Alternatively, please comment if you think that hardware is the only way to get such marvelous sounds.
    Best,
    SX

This is just a personal opinion but...
Having made electronic music since about 1976, during which time I've owned about every analog synth ever made--ARPs, Moogs, Rolands, Oberheims, Wasps, modular/mono/poly, and a slew of digital synths and samplers, I'd say there was NOT ONE that just magically produced the warm fat bass sound you're talking about. Sorry to disappoint! I think most of today's softsynths sound just as good if not better 'out of the box', and they're a lot more manageable than the beasts we had to deal with in those days.
Whatever the source, the key to making any merely 'good' sound into a world-beating winner is (a) composition (b) context (c) EQ and dynamics.
    (a) You need a great musical arrangement to make the bass sound shine. A sexy bassline will compliment any sound, but it has to work in tandem with the overall musical composition.
    (b) The context is vital. If the part is competing with other frequencies, tonalities, harmonies, rhythms, chords or even lyrics, it won't sound good.
    (c) Finding the right EQ curve to make efficient use of the sound is not always easy. Many people think it's just about maximum low end. Not so! How many awful sounding club (or car) audio systems have you heard where the low end was massive. Many great basslines are actually very light in low end. Sometimes it's best for the bass to exist in its own deep dimension, underpinning the rest; other times it should hang tight just below the other instruments. Try exaggerating the character in the sound; then try downplaying it. Dynamics are often overlooked too. If there's no space for your bass to operate in, it'll never sound good. Close your eyes and listen to the 'shape' of the music--then tweak your ADSR, and also think about the overall compression/limiting of your mix.
I believe a great bass sound has to have singularity. Effects like doubling, chorus, harmonizing, multiple VCOs, phasers/flangers/reverbs, distortion, are fine for higher register parts but they all tend to muddy up a low bass sound, and are often used a crutch when the other issues above don't get addressed. Synth makers are guilty of this, and many factory presets tend to pour on the FX instead of providing solid fundamentals. That's why I loved the Nord 3--without relying on any FX, the purity of the sounds was so great. On the other hand, the Virus TI has such incredible resonance it excites your ears into a frenzy. There's no magic formula--just good taste, experimentation, and imagination.

I am using ERwin® Data Modeler r7.1 (7.1.1.1207). It supports most new features of Oracle 10g such as hash, list, composite hash, setting LOB storage properties etc.
We just upgraded from version 4 recently. In the old version, I had to manually modify the generated scripts.
ERWin r7 supports all Oracle 10g (Release 2) new features we need for our projects. It offers far more functionality and options than the old version. It supports all partition types in Oracle 10g: Range, Hash, List, Composite-Hash and Composite-LIST and offers more storage settings.
Another nice new feature of ERWin r7 is that it offers purge option in the DROP TABLE statement. In Oracle 10g, the recycle bin contains all the dropped database objects until you permanently drop them with the PURGE option. Otherwise, you will see many funny looking objects like this: 'BIN$0+ktoVChEmXgNAAADiUEHQ==$0'.
With the purge option, you don't need to purge the recycle bin after the forward engineering.
    SQL> purge recyclebin;
    My favorite is Oracle Designer.

  • Which tool do you use for load testing?

Which tool do you use for load testing for J2EE application?

    hi,
i use jmeter for without issues..
first make sure that the system from where you are doing load testing is in the same lan(without firewall) to that of server. Here you are testing the capacity of server and not the network bandwith.
So assuming very good network connection what is the servers performance level...
If u have to decide which tool is decent enough to load testing,
i would suggest go for jmeter. its reliable and i have used it without problems.
Here is my quick tutorial for jemeter which i made for my teams reference.

In Jeter proxy server start by Clicking on Start button in the HTTP Proxy Server Flap.
In browser navigate the application which you want to test.
The nodes will be added in the Thread Group.
Once Navigation is done stop the proxy server and save the test plan from file menu.
    LOGGING INTO APPLICATION.
When we have to login into system and then navigate the system
we need a cookie to be tracked after login. This could be achieved
simply by Add -> Config Element -> HTTP Cooie Manager.
After adding the HTTP Cooie Manager simply run the test.
    LOOPING COUNTER.
When a request is made multiple parameter is sent to server.
Parameters are sent from the HTTP Request node added in the Thread Group
in "Send Parameter with the request" table.
If we run the loop count 10 times the parameters will be sent same in every request.
If you have to send parameters like user1,user2,user3,user4....
then add -> Pre processor -> Counter.
Put start as 1 and and Maximum as 10 or whatever required.
Put Referene name as iCtr or whatever.
         In the "Send Parameter with the request" in value column put user${iCtr}

Which bag do you use for 14 inch wide screen?
I got confused when searching for possible candidates. Almost all wide screen bags are designed for 15.4 inch. Few 14 inch bags are fit only for the normal 4:3 screen.

    Hello,
Other brands you might want to look at are Brenthaven, Case Logic, Eagle Creek, EastPak, EZM, Jan Sport, Kensington, Swiss Army, Targus and Trager.  There is also an earlier message thread here in the forum discussing carrying options, and a quick search of the Internet found some messages here, here and here that you might find of interest.
There really are lots of different solutions when it comes to carrying your ThinkPad, so it might be best to visit a few computer, electronics, office supply and sporting goods stores to find something you like and meets your needs (and budget).  If you do not have your ThinkPad to yet, consider either bringing  a tape measure or a piece of cardboard cut to the dimensions to "test" with bags.

Which Bag do you use for your Camera? What about the GadgetBag 300EG?

I agree - it's all about preference.  I use the ThinkTank Retrospective 7.  I *love* ThinkTank's attention to detail...  everything from having a rain cover included with the bag, to having ingenius use of velcro (sp?) patches to enable you to "silence" the bag so it doesn't make the big "SCRATCH" sound when opening the bag during a quiet event, etc.
My best advice would be to do your research (which you're clearly doing) and have a clear understanding of the return policy wherever you buy it, and then don't be afraid to return it if you get it and feel it doesn't meet your needs.  A restocking fee is a small price to pay to not be stuck with a bag that doesn't work for you.  And if for any reason you get it and can't return it, there's always eBay.
