Poll: which new features will be available in Adobe 10?

I just learned that emloyees of Adoba are not allowed to communicate the details of the new product.
But what I am interested in is what YOU think will be in it. and maybe some good idead will come from this for Adobe-development in the future.
I am speculating on better integration with Office (2010) (Thanks Ken Friedman).
What do you think?

At last HP launched international layouts for the backlit keyboard this week, not only the spanish version.
I found out this myself by visiting several times the HP Parts Store and with a little help from my rep.
If you need to order the backlit keyboard for your model with a normal keyboard, look up its P/N at the Spare Parts web page.
Keyboards are easily swappable. You don't need any extra to install the backlit keyboard on the stock system, because this system already has the necessary connector to feed the keyboard LEDs.
I hope this helps to non english-speakers willing to buy the 8740w with a backlit keyboard for his/her country.
Finally, I think it's a shame no person from HP has replied this post.

  • Does anyone know when the "new" iPad will be available in South Africa?

    Hi
I'm not really sure where this should be posted. I know that there are two releases of the new iPad scheduled, one on the 16th of March, and one at the end of the month. But SA isn't on either of those lists. There is a huge demand for and support of Apple products in South Africa. I own the iPad 2, but now that I've seen what the new pad is capable of, I can't wait to upgrade!

All anyone on here knows is what Apple has published...only thing to do is wait for a release announcement.

  • Any word on when the new NSU will be available?

As with the recent Vista incompatibility issues, thousands of Nokia handset owners are up in arms about, and are wondering when this will be fixed. I was informed Nokia headquarters in Norway were aware of the problem on the 9th of this month (April 2008), but wanted to ask if anyone knew the release date for the revised Nokia Software Updater?
Me personal, have issues with it installing correctly, and Im using Vista Business, and have tried everything, and am led to believe its down to the latest version of NSU.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

  • New features as a firmware update?

According to the press release the new Airport Extreme:
Apple also announced that its popular AirPort Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi Base Station and Time Capsule® now feature simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz dual-band networking for optimal performance, range and compatibility. An innovative Guest Network feature allows setting up a secondary network for friends and visitors with Internet-only access so you don't have to hand out your WiFi password.
Does anyone know if these features will be available as a firmware update for older Airport Extremes?
    Thanks.

...from a technical perspective I can't see why this couldn't be done to the existing Time Capsules and Airport Extremes.
Having the guest access SSID should be no problem for firmware, as some much less powerful APs can do multiple SSIDs (same channel). But dual band networking is a different matter; if the units were built with discrete radios from the beginning, then new firmware may be all that's needed. But if the 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz radios in these previous models shared any circuitry, then I doubt we'll see a firmware upgrade to provide the simultaneous networks. A shame, since many competitors are doing that now. I just bought a Linksys with dual-band this week for a project. The 15 Airport Extremes (n) I have now at work (a school) sure could use the dual band feature.
For a time earlier this year, I was testing a low-end enterprise wifi system which had a really nice Dashboard management tool to configure and monitor the APs. So I reconfigured the 10 AEn's to 5 Ghz and an SSID that only teacher and admin laptops could connect to. It was a great way to segregate the network and assure teachers could get the bandwidth they needed for instruction. However, the test enterprise system proved to have a firmware issue in that the APs could not handle more than about 20 users before crashing and dropping them all. So I ditched that system, and got 5 more AEn's to get us through the year on a single SSID at 2.4 Ghz. Now I am considering expanding on the Apple stuff, though VLAN support is something else I will need soon, and I am not clear whether the new units have that.
These Apple beasts have great hardware, but if they could add some beefed up firmware capability and a 'dashboard' utility to truly manage them (not one at a time, but all at once), they might fight for some enterprise market share.
On a related note, I had 98 laptops connected to one AEn a few months ago (I have a screen shot of the Airport Utility window to prove it).

  • Clarification on new feature in OBIEE 10.1.3.4 - Metadata Dictionary

    Hi,
I need clarification on this new feature "Metadata Dictionary" available in 10.1.3.4. This is documented in the OBIEE NEw Feature Guide, http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e10416.pdf, page 17.
I have a potential customer who wants to know if OBIEE has a facility to help business user come up to speed with the available subject areas, tables and columns. This will help them learn about the business content available so they will know which subject areas/columns to use to build ad-hoc report development. Does the new feature "metadata dictionary" support this requirement. Can you point me to where I can play or learn more about this feature?
    Thanks!
    Khai

First and foremost: did you already try it out? In general, yes a metadata dictionary can achieve what you're asking for, but the devils as always in the detail and/or in what the users accept.
Simply follow the steps outlined in Venkats blog here -> http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/08/23/oracle-bi-ee-10133-metadata-dictionary-statistics/
...and then see if this satisfies your needs.
    Cheers,
    C.

  • HT204264 "If you exceed your iCloud storage limit, photos and videos won't upload to iCloud, and your library will no longer stay up to date across your devices."  Really?  Can't we support the existing "last 1k photos will be available in the cloud" mode

"If you exceed your iCloud storage limit, photos and videos won't upload to iCloud, and your library will no longer stay up to date across your devices."  Really?  Can't we support the existing "last 1k photos will be available in the cloud" model?  If we don't do this, won't this kill auto-sync of new photos from iOS devices to our libraries on our Macs (if the Mac's Photos app has auto syncing with the cloud turned on) once we go over our 5gb limit?  I have 350GB of photos in my Mac Photos library - I am not going to pay $20/month for 1tb iCloud storage.  Please advise, Apple.  Thank you.

I agree and am baffled by this also.  At first I was really excite about this new feature.  Mostly because I would be able to seamlessly sync videos along with my PhotoStream.  I just assumed there would be some systematic way to handle large libraries.  Like removing older files as the current PhotoStream does.  However, it appears that this new feature will simply 'shut down' when you reach your storage limit.  This just makes no sense to me.  I would have to double check, but I have all my photos and videos in iPhoto and stored on a 3 TB external hard drive and I think the full library is over 1 TB.  So, even if I was willing to pay $20 a month for photo syncing (which I am not) I couldn't do it because my library is too large.  Again I am just baffled why Apple cannot blend this new service with the existing PhotoSteam model.  My favorite aspect of PhotoSteam is that is uploads all my iPad and iPhone Photos to my Mac for permanent storage and it seems this is lost in the new version.

  • When the update for iPhone Packager will be available??

Anybody has any idea, when the new update will be available of iPhone packager? Does new update will be able to interact with the iPhone OS to load the images from the Camera Roll, if internet connection is available, message notification, badges etc...

I think the iPad 2 is great news for us.  The amount of apps make with Flash that are on the store have proved that it can work.  We just hit a bit of a performance wall currently.  Now that the iPad 2 is dual core however we should be bale to expect much better performance.  Of course true Objective C programming will always be more efficient but my point is that soon the quality difference between Objective C and the ios packager is going to be more transparent.
My only hope is that this doesn't discourage people from continusing to optimize their code.  The one thing that has plagued Flash over the years has been sloppy code which I myself am partially guilty for I guess.  The ios packager has forced many of us to learn the proper way of doing things.
Of course we have awhile before we can expect a perfect world.  There are a lot of iPad 1's out there yet and it will be a few years before we can target only the iPad 2.
Finally I would love to see the ios packager expanded on.  I think what Adobe is doing has been a good start.  Of course we did hit that 6 month roadblock but now that we are back on track I hope to see the packager expanded to support more ios features.

  • New features in Oracle 10g

    Hi,
is someone able to say what new features will be included in Oracle 10g from Workspace Manager point of view? I've looked on http://otn.oracle.com/oramag/webcolumns/2003/techarticles/new_features_preview.pdf but there is nothing about OWM. Particularly I'm interested in:
    1. Possibility of historical data archiving and reloading - see topic Historic data in version enabled tables
    2. More sophisticated support for database export/import (there is possible to export/import full database only)
    3. Java API for OWM - see topic Java API for OWM?
    Thanks
    Ondrej

    1. Possibility of historical data archiving
This is not available in 10G
    2. More sophisticated support for database export/import (there is possible to export/import full database only)
Table level import//export is supported in 10G
    3. Java API for OWM
No Java API support in 10G
    regards

  • New features request

Usually in software development organizations, there exists a product manager that decides (amongst other things) which new features get added to future releases. I am posting this message in hopes that the Oracle Enterprise Manager product manager monitors this forum. Site summary: five locations, approximately 800 nodes provisioned with a mix of RHEL 4.6, 4.8 and 5.3. Enterprise controller at 2.5.0.1200, hardware all Sun x86: blade, x4100, x4600 and x2200 servers.
We are generally happy with Ops Center, but in order for it to be competitive with other products going forward the following features would help us:
    - the ability to select a large group of discovered assets and provision them all with the same OS profile, specifying IPs to use for each (list or range). this was possible in N1 System Manager, a former Sun product.
    - the ability to re-run an update job on a set of new targets (not just re-run on failed targets). we very frequently run the same set of updates, in a specific order, on groups of nodes - it would be nice to just select new targets and not have to re-add the updates to a new job in addition to selecting new targets
    - be able to specify the order in which local actions are run in updates that contain multiple action scripts. then we could just create one master update script that runs our updates in the right order
    - clean up the blobs left behind on the target after an update (/var/opt/scn/sun/update-agent/blobs); on blades with small esd drives, disk space is an issue
    - the ability to edit an asset and add connectivity that the discovery failed to find (particularly ELOM based machines, where discovery is spotty at best). not just manually declaring the asset and adding GB_x , but editing the discovered asset and adding the mgmtEth if its missing
    - with this many managed assets we cannot enable the summary charts for each node - just too much traffic to the enterprise controller. would be nice if something could be done about this
Assuming I could select 150+ assets and tell Ops Center to deploy the given OS profile on them, then run a single update with actions in the order we require across all of them, the time to re-provision an entire site would drop from well over a month to under a week.
    cheers,
    -phil

    Hi Phil,
These are all excellent requests, thanks for making your wish-list public! I don't work for Oracle, but I'm going to interleave some comments that may help:
    - the ability to select a large group of discovered assets and provision them
all with the same OS profile, specifying IPs to use for each (list or range).
this was possible in N1 System Manager, a former Sun product. This may just boil down to how you selected the assets to provision: I know for sure you can bulk deploy OS images. You see slightly different hostname/IP options depending on if you select a folder of systems, or add many systems to the provision list manually (http://forums.halcyoninc.com/showthread.php?t=314 ).
    - the ability to re-run an update job on a set of new targets (not just
re-run on failed targets). we very frequently run the same set of updates,
in a specific order, on groups of nodes - it would be nice to just select new
targets and not have to re-add the updates to a new job in addition to
selecting new targetsHave you tried creating a new Profile, and specifying all your updates in that single Profile (or do you mean something else)? The Profile can be the single place that records the updates (and their ordering), and you can execute it on-demand and target it to any hosts you want (http://wikis.sun.com/display/EM11gOC1/Updating+from+an+OS+Profile)
    - be able to specify the order in which local actions are run in updates that
contain multiple action scripts. then we could just create one master update
script that runs our updates in the right orderIf you'd prefer that your master script be responsible for deciding what other script get run, you can include those secondary scripts as "Local Config Files", and leave your master script as a "Local Action". Ops Center will put those other "config file" scripts on disk for you, in the paths you specify with the permissions you want... but won't execute them. Which means everything is in place for when your master local-action script gets run at the end of the job: it can decide which other scripts get run and which don't. (http://wikis.sun.com/display/EM11gOC1/About+Local+Content).
    - clean up the blobs left behind on the target after an update
(/var/opt/scn/sun/update-agent/blobs); on blades with small esd drives,
disk space is an issue I believe blobs are left behind intentionally, as a cache (and that's also how you can "simulate" patch jobs in advance)... but you may be able to tune that behaviour. I think the amount of disk space Agents use as a cache is configurable: ask Oracle support for help.
