Polycom Group 500 - Bluetooth Mouse & Keyboard

Hi,
We have a customer who has purchased a couple of Polycom Group 500 units with the RTV license which I must say I'm really impressed with. They have requested a couple of bluetooth mouse and keyboard's to use with the units, will any set work or is there
a tried and tested model I should go for?
Thanks

Thanks Jeff, that's what I suspected as I couldn't find reference to it in the setup guide.
Do you think the chap who wrote this blog was just lucky that his Bluetooth mouse and keyboard worked? http://janzoetemelk.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/unboxing-group-series-500.html
I tried a cheap and cheerful one I had lying around and it didn't work at all.

  • Polycom Group 500 Multiple Lync Video calls simultaneously

So I have a new Group 500 unit all working as expected,  apart from when I try to call multiple Lync 2010 clients at the same time.  First one connects fine,  but subsequent calls just ring out, and the client never gets notified that I am
calling..  If they start a conference call, and invite the unit in,  all is fine..
    Any help ?...

    Hi,
Please check if Polycom Group 500 is properly configured. To do this, go to Diagnostics -> System -> System Status and check for errors or warnings. Make sure all options are green.
Please also check if Polycom Group 500 update to the latest firmware, it not, update it and then test again.

  • Bluetooth mouse & keyboard login problem

When I boot my G4 PowerBook running tiger 10.4.3 I can't type my user name or password - neither my Apple bluetooth mouse or keyboard function.
I have to login using the PowerBook's mouse and keyboard - then once the login is complete my bluetooth mouse and keyboard work fine.
Bluetooth software is Apple ver 1.6.6f22
    Firmware is 2.1241
Battery's are new in both devices and I've deleted and re-added the mouse and keyboard.
    Thanks in advance -

I've got a similar problem, there are a few others on the message board too.

  • Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, cinema display + Powerbook?

I'm posting this here because it incorporates displays and peripherals as well as the behavior of the PB when all are plugged in...
I have an ADC 23" cinema display that doesn't get used anywhere near enough. I got a 17" Powerbook about a year ago and since them my G5 sits idle most of the time.
I want to put the display to better use by using it with my powerbook at work. I don't want to run two displays - I'd rather just use the big display.
So my question is... if I buy an apple bluetooth pro keyboard and a third party multi-button bluetooth mouse (any suggestions?) as well as a DVI-ADC converter, can I leave the powerbook in clamshell mode?
I want to be able to bring my sleeping powerbook into work with me, plug in the DVI and ethernet cables and hit the spacebar on the wireless keyboard to wake it up. (can you wake a sleeping mac with a bluetooth keyboard?).
Is this possible? Will this setup work? TIA.

Well, parts of your setup will work, and parts won't. The monitor and adc-dvi combination should work out fine, and from what I understand you can keep the powerbook almost completly closed while you use an external display, but you may what to research it a little more. There are a lot of discussions about this in the monitors section. Now, as far as the bluetooth devices waking up the computer, they can, but only after they have been paired. So you could not just walk in and wake the computer up. You would need to open the laptop up, connect the dvi cable, and turn on the blutooth devices and let them pair to the computer. Then you could close the lid. I think the agrument here is whether you can close it all the way and you can get an anwser to that in the monitors section of the forum. In terms of bluetooth mice, I use and highly reccommend radtech mice. They work very well, however their battery life is short and the travelling version is very small. I would highly reccommend rechargeable batteries. Hope I answered most of your questions. -Justin

  • Bluetooth mouse & keyboard driver drop out

Having trouble with mighty mouse and apple bluetooth keyboard dropping out periodicaly, when using windows XP. Track pad & keyboard on MacBook still work ok. Window pops up saying USB device not connected. When looking in bluetooth devices in control panel the bluetooth drivers, keyboard and mouse are missing. After short period everything comes back again. It will do this randomly and not at any specific times, even when the computer is not being used.

    Can anyone help???

  • Choppy bluetooth mouse/keyboard

    Hi everyone,
I frequently experience choppy bluetooth mouse and keyboard activity. Sometimes repeats keystrokes, and more often will have choppy mouse movements. I am using an Apple Bluetooth keyboard an a microsoft wireless laser mouse (8000). I used both of these on my previous revision mbp (before the video died) and they worked perfectly.
Does anyone have any hints on how to fix this?
    Eric

(Copied from another thread where I have just posted the same):
I'd say it's rather obvious that this is an interference problem:
Bluetooth and WLAN use the same 2.4 GHz band, and the more traffic there is the more likely problems will occur. Therefore, in particular while there is heavy traffic e.g. while using TimeMachine over WLAN or downloading huge files, the mouse movement may become sluggish.
Strangely, I have been using a PC laptop until now with the same configuration without a problem. But with my new iMac, the mouse becomes unusable once there is traffic on the WLAN band (ie there is a delay of up to a second for any movement, and sometimes the mouse curser even moves in erratic directions), and it remains sluggish even if there is none.
For all other having problems here: If you have a recent Mac and a recent router, switching both to the 5 GHz band should solve the problem (at least it does in my case). Unfortunately, I cannot do that because the iPod Touch doesn't support the 5 GHz band.

  • Bluetooth mouse/keyboard - good to go??

I'm being a bit paranoid, probably, but ...
when you order an iMac with Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, is it supplied ready to roll, with the BT-EDR module pre-installed, or is there something you have to do yourself? On the Store there is no separate box to check for that BT-EDR module, so I'm guessing it's all OK, and that it Just Works??

    From Mac Help in the Finder menu Help;
Setting up a wireless keyboard and mouse
You can set up an Apple wireless keyboard and mouse using the Bluetooth Setup Assistant.
To use the Bluetooth Setup Assistant:
    1. Open System Preferences and click Bluetooth.
    2. Click Devices, and then click Set Up New Device.
    3. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your keyboard or mouse.
For more help using Bluetooth, click the Help button in the bottom right corner of Bluetooth preferences.

  • 10.6.3 update problem - bluetooth mouse & keyboard

Unfortunately I have to add myself to the list of people who have regretted updating to 10.6.3. From the moment it restarted both my bluetooth mouse and keyboard were reporting "lost connection" every few seconds. I'd get just enough time to click on something before "connection lost" reappeared.
Tried rebooting a few times - no improvement. No point in delaying, had to wipe clean and restore 10.6.2 from back up. 5 hours to restore and about the same to make new back-up so a day lost, but everything back working perfectly.
Both mouse and keyboard are apple products and have been working fine for 4 years with iMac.
Didn't have time to see if there were any other problems. To be fair, this is the first time, in many years, that an update has gone spectacularly wrong.

I think 10.6.3 caused a lot of USB related mice and keyboard problems. My Microsoft wireless keyboard no longer has any extended function key capability and my Logitech Wireless Trackman Wheel periodically is not recognized at all after a restart. Very irritating. Hopefully Apple will fix this in 10.6.4.

  • Can anyone recommend a Bluetooth Mouse & keyboard?

    Hi Guys,
I've finally installed Bluetoothand AirPort into my Mac Mini & was wondering if anyone could recommend a mouse & keyboard they're happy with? I'm put off by the hefty price tag on the Apple products!
Many thanks for any help you can give.
    Paul

"One thing is for sure! Do not buy the Apple bluetooth keyboard!"
I couldn't disagree more. I have two Apple BT keyboards which I use with my 17 inch PowerBook, G4 Mac Mini and CoreDuo Mini. The keyboards work perfectly every time.
I even spilled beer into my first BT keyboard back in November, 2003. After submerging the whole unit in the bathtub, flushing it out with distilled water and allowing it to dry thoroughly for two days, the keyboard fired up immediately and it's been working perfectly ever since. How's that for a testimonial!
Bluetooth mice are another matter. I've had too many disconnections and failed pairings with my Apple BT mouse and my MS Intellimouse BT. Of the two, the Apple mouse works better but not by much. Reading through these forums it seems no third party Bluetooth mouse works more reliably than Apple's. Sporadic disconnections seems the Devil's bargain for BT mice on the Mac.

  • Bluetooth Mouse & Keyboard

    Hi,
I new to the world of macs but so far i'm loving it. There only one problem though, my keyboard and mouse are very jittery almost like its short of signal
To my knowledge the apple mouse and keyboard have a 10 meter range no obsticles but mine are only half a meter away from my computer. i have to almost put my mouse on top of my g5 to make it smooth out.
there isn't much around to interfere with it, i have a wireless network but i think WiFi uses a different frequency range than bluetooth
Please help as this is really annoying when typing and a long row of the same letter appears(keyboard acts like its stuck)

I believe that I know how to fix this problem. I had the same thing with the Toshiba Encore.
Found a guy on youtube that explained it, but I must have forgot to save the link.
Go to "Control Panel" --> "System and Security" --> "System"
Then select "Device Manager," That will open a new window with all your stuff.
    Now expand "Network adapters"
You should see "Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter." Click that and select the "Advanced" tab.
    Now look for "Bluetooth Collaboration"
It will probably be set to "Auto." Select "Disable"
Now your bluetooth hardware will work!

  • No bluetooth mouse or keyboard on login on MacBook

    Dear experts,
Over the weekend I made a fresh SL install (plus update to 10.6.1) onto a new harddisk on my white MacBook2,1. Imported my old users from the old 10.5.8 harddisk. So far things have been fine except for one:
At the login screen my bluetooth Mighty Mouse and Apple bluetooth keyboard do not work. I have to use the MacBook's built-in trackpad and keyboard. After login both bluetooth keyboard and mouse will work fine. Over time it is annoying as I normally work with an external HD display and the MacBook is positioned across the desk.
I have already tried enabling and disabling the "wake from sleep" and "open assistant if no bt mouse/keyboard is found at startup" options in the bleuthooth preferences. No assistant will come up. As stated above, once I log in the bluetooth devices will work after a few seconds.
Under Leopard 10.5.8 the bluetooth peripherals worked for login as well.
It seems like the bt driver is only loaded after login. Is this a "feature" in SL or can it be helped?
Your help and advice is appreciated.

Yes, I already tried re-pairing twice: Once using the bluetooth assistant and the second time the options provided in the mouse and keyboard preferences (configure bluetooth mouse). Neither did solve the problem. I should have written that in my initial post, sorry.
When I searched the discussions for my problem before posting I did see that some users have bt problems. But my devices work fine, they do not "disappear" in normal operation. They are only not reacting at the login screen.
Is maybe anybody else using a portable Mac together with bt mouse & kb? I was already thinking that if Snow Leopard detects the internal trackpad and keyboard it does not try to connect the bt ones (as you only need one strictly speaking). But then once I log in they work both and also in parallel (internal and bt) as they did in Leopard (sans Snow).

  • Bluetooth mouse and keyboard do not work

I purchased an iMac G5 about 6 months ago. I got it with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. I have had trouble with it from day 1. Apple had me replace the logic unit, and it worked for a couple of weeks. Then as soon as the 90-day warranty for complimentary service ran out, it began working sporadically. Now it doesn't work at all. It says I don't have a bluetooth module installed or attached to my computer (which is what it said before the logic unit was replaced. The computer works fine with a USB mouse and keyboard. Had I known bluetooth was so tempermental and difficult, I sure wouldn't have got it with my computer.
Unless there is a smart person out there who knows what is going on, I guess I need to buy a new USB keyboard and mouse. Anybody interested in buying a bluetooth keyboard and mouse cheap?

    Russell,
The warranty period on your mac is 1 year. The complimentry phone service period is 90 days unless you have a hardware problem. I'd say you likely have a hardware problem and will not be charged for the phone call.
    I'd suggest 2 things:
    1. Sign up for Applecare as has been recommended countless times.
    2. Make the call to tech support and see what they say about your problem.
    Good Luck,
    John

  • Brand new IMac 27 bluetooth mouse and keyboard not connecting for eight minutes after start up.

I have a new imac 27 that has worked flawlessly for three weeks.
All of a sudden, when starting up the mac boots fine but the bluetooth mouse and keyboard are non responsive. This state is maintained for between 7 and 8 minutes then both mouse and keyboard start working and continue doing so for the rest of the day....until the next restart and the whole saga repeats itself.
Both sets of batteries are fully charged.
I have scoured different sites and tried any suggestion that made any sense, to no avail. All I am able to do at the moment is to do the time, wait the 7 to 8 mins. and then all's good.
My first Mac and this is very annoying especially as Apple must be aware of this issue but no solution is forthcoming!
    Any suggestions/workarounds would be great.
    Thanks

if you are using rechargeable batteries sometimes they don't stay charged for as long as they should try using alkalaine batteries and see if the issue still persists.
also try doing an SMC reset, the following article tells how to do this:

  • Windows 8.1 and Apple Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard connection

I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8.0 Home and as a result I'm experiencing the following problems:
Apple Bluetooth Mouse - randomly dis/connects or freezes where I cannot move the mouse or it's very jerky or very slow.
Apple Bluetooth Keyboard - the keys will stick or freeze causing the redundent key presses (eg. yyyyyyyyeeeeeee).
I've done the following to fix the problem with no success:
    Reinstall Boot Camp 5.0.5033 drivers
Reinstalled Bluetooth drivers from Boot Camp 5.0.533 individually
Unistalled both devices on OS X and reinstall them only on Windows 8.1
Reinstalling both on OS X and reinstalling them on Windows 8.1
Uninstalling all the drivers from the Device Manager and reinstalling them
One thing I have noticed is that under Devices and Printers I have two new devices (HID-compliant mouse and HID Keyboard Device) that were not there under Windows 8.0 in addition to my bluetooth devices.  I have tried removing the new devices but they keep reinstalling themselves.
I have USB mouse that's connected and I've been able to use that without problems so I think there's a problem with the Apple driver or the Windows 8.1 bluetooth drivers.
    Has anyone fixed this?
    Thanks!

Just to point out the "Bluetooth Collaboration" setting I've found this:
Bluetooth Collaboration enables general purpose input/output transmit suppression protocol between the IEEE 802.11 media access control (MAC) and an external Bluetooth chip to minimize transmit interference. Bluetooth Collaboration is enabled by default.
And it is not enabled by default on some devices like on mine!
