Polycom phones with CUCM registration issues

I have Polycom IP5000 phones running UC software 4.1.1 which do not stay registered with CUCM 9.1 for more than couple of seconds, I created digest user with username matching the DN of the phone, the phone registers for few seconds but then unregisters and stays unregistered for long period of time.  Does anyone have a good guide or tips on how to make these phones work?
Polycom logs are not very helpful as all I see is this:

it looks like you do not have configuration file for this phone
check is it in default device profiles?

  • Polycom Soundstation IP 7000 Registration Issues

    Hello All,
I've posted this before, and thought I had it resolved, but I'm back to pulling my hair out at trying to get a Soundstation IP 7000 to register with my call manager.
    Here are the cliff notes:
    -CUCM Version 8.6
-Polycom Firmware 4.0.4 (the highest revision mentioned in their guide for CUCM)
-The polycom can ping the CUCM Sub and Pub
-There is no syslog message on the CUCM of the Polycom trying to register
I've attached screen shots of everything that I believe to be relevant, if anyone out there has an idea of what might be going I would greatly appreciate the input. I have not yet resorted to traffic analysis with WireShark. I've got some notes on the images of the Polycom screens.

    Hi Brandon.
No you don't need to specify Owner because the digest user field is used to authenticate the phone against the CUCM. (That is defined as authorisation user on third party phone)
    Zach,
the password field on Polycom is the password field on end user configuration (not pin not digest password.
Does the callmanager report rejected on phone status?
    Let me know
    Regards
    Carlo

  • Please can anyone help with my registration issue?

Hi - I am having great difficulty registering (and therefore continuing to use) CS6. I purchased this a few days ago and installed.. at the time I could not register as it stated I had no internet connection or my clock was wrong - neither is the case (clock is fine and I have internet). So I chose to register later. Now, every time I try to use Photoshop it states I must register within x number of days or it will stop working.. but every time I try to register it again tells me I have no internet connection. SO I get a message stating I should contact customer support (hard as they are closed when I get back from work) or visit www.adobe.com/getactivated_uk, which I do. This tells me that if I am permanently offline (which I'm not but for the purposes of actually managing to register, let's say I am) that I can: ' Follow the installation or product launch screens until you see a link that says "I cannot connect to the internet" or "Having trouble connecting to the internet". Click the link and follow the instructions on the subsequent screen to initiate offline activation. Instructions there will tell you how to generate a Request Code.' What installation or product launch screens? I have already installed. I can nowhere find an option that states 'having trouble connecting to the internet'. How do I therefore generate a request code? Please can anyone help drag me out of this loop of madness? I am not on t-3 days and counting before it stops working:( So confusing, not at all easy to set up as I had hoped. Please help?

Will do my best. No, I appreciate is isn't Adobe support, I had thought that was forums were for - support and advice, sharing of knowledge? I had hoped someone else had experienced something similar in the past. Maybe I'm wrong, this is fairly new to me.  Once I am up and running I will be offering helpful support to others. Thanks for your helpful support

  • Issues with accepting access code in Polycom phones

I have a polycom conferencing phone that is associated with VG224. When trying to dial in to my level 3 conferencing account from the phone in the conference room, it usually accepts the code after 2-3 attempts.
The VG224 is SCCP configured, VG224 port is also registered with the Call Manager. I have changed the polycom phone with the other polycom but the issue is still persist.
    VG224 Version- 15.1
CUCM Version - System version: 9.1.2.10000-28
    Please suggest.

  • Common Area Phone with strict DNS rules in multi pool env.

    Hi There,
As you know, CommonAreaPhones have the strict DNS rules: pool's FQDN's domain must be the same than phone's SIP address domain is.
In the DHCP we can set only one pool's FQDN, so does anybody have an idea how to get phones spread between two pools? I do not mean that each subnet have own dedicated configuration.
Pool's are of course internal, so they are having internal FQDNes. Currently the L2010 is faked on the DHCP as pool.company.com (as the SIP domain is company.com). But now on L2013 we have two pools waiting for the phones.
    Petri

I don't think you'll have a problem.  The strict DNS naming is more of a SRV/A record issue, which shouldn't pose a problem.

  • Connectivity issues for random phones in CUCM 8.6 on Vmware

I have a client that has problems with around half of there ip phones (6921 & 7945) after a situation with overheating in the serverroom.
The solutions was a 1 Publisher, 1 subscriber setup with each on a separate Vmware server.
The Publisher is connected to the Core Switch which is further connected to 4 distribution switches which again connect to 5 more distribution switches. They have around 200 ip phones connected to these switches that get assigned IP's with DHCP.
The physical disk that the Subscriber was on was destroyed the incident. The Publisher they recovered, but to do this they had to recreate the vm descriptor file and attach it to the flat-file.
So the current situation is that the system is running with only 1 Publisher and no Subscriber.
There is also a license warning in the CCM Admin section, stating a License Overage (2 nodes used, but only 1 licensed.)
The license status is not invalid though, and the license state is "Uploaded". This second node I suppose might be the Subscirber that no longer exists? The phones have more than enough licenses.
When powered up the system seems to run as it should, but only about half the phones have connectivity to and can register with CUCM.
I have tried to reboot some phones remotely by cutting the power on the switch interfaces where they are attached, but that made no difference.
The console log on the phones that are down show TFTP Timeout & File Transfer Error.
The phones that are up and running can be pinged successfully from the CUCM cli, but when pinging the others I get "Destination Host Unreachable".
The strange thing is that it seems completely random as to what phones are up or down. On all switches there are connected phones with both working and non-working connections to CUCM.
To try to pinpoint the fault I chose 2 devices on the same switch and compared the config for each interface, one that has connectivity and is registered, and one that does not have connectivity and is unreachable.
Everything seems to be identical so I can't see what causes this error on the one, but not on the other.
Also when I ping the ip phone with no connectivity to CUCM from any of the switches, the ping is successful.
Anyone know what could be the cause of this behaviour?

Hello and thank you for your time.
The phones get there IP’s from a DHCP Server (Not the built in one in CUCM, but an external server). I have tested that the DHCP process works by powering off a phone (one of the phones with connectivity issues), deleting the lease, and then powering the phone back on and seeing the device request and receive a new lease.
There is only one CCM group active and both servers are in this group with the Publisher as highest priority server. All phones are in the same Device Pool attached to this group.
There are a lot of warnings regarding dbReplication & missing node due to the subscriber being gone. Also there is an issue with NTP server (see below). I will post more on this tomorrow morning.
I have also attached the console log from one of the phones that can't register.
    NTP Alert:
At Tue Jan 13 21:24:10 BRST 2015 on node 192.168.50.2; the following SyslogSeverityMatchFound events generated:  SeverityMatch : Critical MatchedEvent : Jan 13 21:23:49 CUCMPUB user 2 ntpRunningStatus.sh: Primary node NTP server; 192.168.50.6; is currently inaccessible or down. • Third Party Phone over SIP Trunk with CUCM 9.x

    Hi all,
I have a problem where my Third Party SIP phones wont go over the SIP trunk configured in my CUCM 9.x cluster. My Cisco phones work fine and goes out the trunk. I have noticed a distinct difference in wireshark with the invite packets from Third Party SIP phones and the Cisco ones.
I have configured the SIP trunk in CUCM with the following route pattern (60.!#)and configured it with associated group and list. Heres the differense between the invite packets from Cisco and Third Party phones.
    Cisco Phone: INVITE sip.60xxxx%23@ipadress
Third Party SIP Phone:  INVITE sip:[email protected]
It seems the Cisco phones gets some extra configured the Third Party ones dont...
Thanks in advance for any help.
    //Per

    Thanks for the answer
Yeah i have DNS configured and i have the trunk pointed to a domain destination SRV record and like i said it works fine when calling from a Cisco phone. I tried changing the domain to an ip address but same result. I also changed the Plycom phone from being registered towards the domain of CUCM to an IP adress of CUCM and then the SIP INVITE messages in wireshark began to look kinda the same expet for the "%23" section but it still dont work.
When i look at the Real Time Data in RTMT the orig and final called from the cisco phone has stripped the 60 and forwared the rest of the number towards the correct domain for the SIP trunk.
When looking at the data from the Polycom phone the orig and final called data still contains the 60 prefix part and the called device name field is empty.  The termination Cause Code is that the number requested is Unallocated/Unassigned..
In other words something is missing to get CUCM to strip 60 from the Polycom phones dialed number and send it towards the SIP trunk like it does when the Cisco phones call it.
Unfortunatley i dont have the meens to attach the trace...
    Thanks again for any help/advice
    With regards, Per.

A computer illiterate friend created 3 accounts on his iPhone 5 but forgot the passwords. He can't reset the password as his yahoo address is no longer valid. Erasing the phone doesn't solve the issue as the Apple server identifies the hardware as registered. How to register the phone with Apple?
I helped him create a new email address and new iCloud account on my Mac but when we try to register the phone with Apple it says: Maximim accounts limit reached for this device. How can he register the phone? I read different threads and found out that only Apple care can do that. We're in Romania and don't know where to call. Any suggestions on how we fix this?

When I checked the support site for Romania, you apparently don't have an Apple Care contact center.  You "may" try calling the US Apple care number to verify the account and have the password reset sent to a different email address.  800-694-7466

    Hi, stig2013.
I would recommend the steps in the article below.  See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If you are receiving an error message, find the exact error number that you recieved in the article below and process the steps.
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if you manually disconnect the device during the restore process. You can resolve this issue by using USB troubleshooting, using a different Dock Connector or Lightning Connector to USB cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.
    Cheers,
    Jason H.

  • Hi my mum has recently gotten a white iphone4 and i have a black iphone4 we both would really want to switch over our phones with each other i was just wondering if there would be any issues would the data contract be switched over???

please can someone help me i have got a black iphone 4 and my mum has got a white iphone 4 we would like to switch both of our phones with each other we are just worried if the data services and our contracts will be switched over we dont care about our phone music and contacts ok thankyou

Most carrers won't care if you change phones as long as you are payng for al the services they require.  Since you both have iPhones, it probably won't be an issue, but since we don't know who your carrier is we can't say it they will have a problem with you making that change or not.  The only way to make certain it won't be a problem is to contact your carrier...
