Poor audio/video synching when saving LR4 slideshow

In spite of its relatively limited capabilities I put quite a bit of effort into creating slideshows, e.g. sequence of images, duration, and some other nice touches in order to do the best I can.
In a recent slideshow I was able to re-order the sequenc of images such that in a few places the image was appropriate to the words of the sound track.
Happy with the result I exported the slideshow as a video at highest resolution.
When I watched the MP4, I found that the synching that was there in LR4 was completely out!
Any suggestions?

Hello,
Let's back up a bit. You have created a slideshow. This is your media. iDVD creates a DVD to distribute your media in a specific format (DVD). Instead of using the files from iDVD (which have been compressed for DVD delivery) go back to the original media and re-compress for web content. You don't want to keep compressing-decompressing-compressing and so on. Stick with the original media and compress for delivery.

  • Is this an audio/video synching issue of flash?

    Hi,
    Good day.
I am having synch problems with externally load FLV and audio
on my flash presentation (which is not online, but for CD)
    Scenario:
    - My presentation is 10 mins long with animations, embedded
    audio, and externally loaded FLVs.
    - the FLVs are loaded from flvplaybacks, and are set to
autoplay: true (because they load on certain timelines) and
    autorewind: false.
    Problems:
    1. the loading of FLVs won't stick in synch with the
timeline. For example, when I readjust the timeline to fit the
length of the FLV movie, it works for awhile. But when I reload it,
or plays on second or third loop, or play on another machine, the
    synching is off.
    2. the audio won't stay in synch with the animations or
video. When I readjust the timeline, it would sync for awhile, but
the same happens with no.1 above (the synching goes off again on
second or third loop of the presentation, or when played on another
    machine.
    3. I can see the first frame of the video when it reaches the
end of the film. The original video (on .mov) does not have it.
By the way, it gets worse after a few minutes. Like after 5
minutes of the 10 mins presentation, the synching of audio and
    video are completely off.
Any response or discussion would be appreciated. Thanks in
    advance.

    Hi,
I am able to solve this using the FLVPlayback.playheadUpdate
    event. I set the FLVPlayback.playheadUpdateInterval to 2000
milliseconds (or 2 seconds). FLVPlayback.playheadUpdate event gets
triggered every two seconds. In this event I check what is the
frames of the swf file that shold have been loaded (No of seconds
the video has played * 25). Then I gave a Gotoandplay command to
play from the appropriate point in my swf file.
To summarise, I am synchronizing the animation and the video
    every two seconds.
    Regards,
    Prakash

  • What is error 8971 when saving a slideshow as an MP4 movie?

I'm new to Lightroom 3.  I made a slideshow and followed all the directions in the manual to make the slideshow and save it through export video.  When I went to send it as an email attachment I got an error message it could not open the file because of an error code 8971.  What does that mean?
I also wanted to add some music and selected that option which took me to My Music--the folders were there but the playlists under the album were not so I couldn't select them for my slideshow.  In the tutorial Ms. Kost seemed to have a different box where the music files were that were compatible with Lightroom 3.  I couldn't find those anywhere.  Jeannie 19

    Hi Pete,
Thank you for responding.  I still get the same 8971 error message after downloading the latest Quick Time.  Earlier I had tried installing and reinstalling the whole Lightroom until I heard from you and that didn't work either.  The slideshow plays great in Lightroom.  It is just when I got to export video and it saves it--it looks as though it saves it okay--it just won't play it. But it sounds as though this is the area to focus on.   Jean

  • Audio/video synch issues

    Hi-
I *Just* got a new Mac Pro last night and installed FCS with FCP 7.  Updated everything.
I captured NTSC Dv video in ns 48K from my Sony HVR-m25U via firewire. The audio/video are a little out of synch.
It's been a few years since I've upgraded FCP.  My last version was 5.1.  Is there soemthing in preferences I should or should NOT check?  I vaguely remember this issue from years ago but can't remember what it was.
Also, I currently only have 3gb of the installed memory int eh amchine.  16 gb are arriving on Wednesday.  Could this be a problem?
    thanks!!

    Thanks for clarifying!
I am monitoring the audio through Bose speakers that are connected to the audio output of the compute
If you go to the menu View > Audio Playback, what is selected?
"Default"  Audio follows video is grayed out.
if you go to the menu View > Video Playback, what is selected?
A grayed out  "(Missing) Apple Firewire NTSC"

  • Poor Audio in project, when sent from imovie, using itunes

Help! I have my music video all done. I clicked on "create idvd project". When I view my video in iDvd the audio sounds horrible. I am using a song I had in my iTunes library (straight from a cd). This happened for the first time the other day. I just deleted and "resent" and it worked. That is not working with this project. Any solutions? Thanks!!!

I have a similar problem. I created a movie using iMovie HD, using photos from iPhoto, as well as clips and short movies. I added music from iTunes. When I click "create DVD" the project shows up in iDVD completely devoid of any audio at all! I have restarted my computer, and saved the project prior to requesting "create DVD."
    Help!! Whazzup?

  • 24P Advanced - Audio/Video Synch Problem on Capture

I shot some footage in 24P advanced. When I capture into FCP4 (settings are 23.98 timecode, 2:3:3:2 pulldown removal), the video and audio become out of synch (in the canvass -- I haven't bothered dragging anything to the timeline yet).
I shot with a Canon XL2 and am importing with a Canon GL2. I usually shoot with a Panasonic AG-DVX100 (and import with a Panasonic) and never had this problem before. I'm in a bit of a time crunch, so I'm starting to get very nervous.
I used "capture now," not log & capture.
Any ideas? Thank you very much.

Was the camera set at 24p 2:3:3:2, or just 24p 2:3. If it was set to 2:3, your capture settings with easy setup will simply be, DV-NTSC. If it was set to 2:3:3:2 your settings for footage from an XL2 should be Easy Setup - DV-NTSC (23.98) Advanced Pulldown Removal, and you capture setting will be changed to DV NTSC 48 kHz Avanced 2:3:3:2 pulldown removal. This captures at 29.97 (DV NTSC) and puts your footage into a 24p timeline.
I'm suspecting that your camera wasn't set to 2:3:3:2 because that is not a default setting. Which is fine for playback on a TV, but not optimal for playback to film.

  • Audio not synching when published

Hello everyone. I'm working in Captivate 4, (purchased, not
trial). I'm relatively new user, but have been working intensely
for about a two months developing a tutorial for my client.
The audio portion does not synch properly with the video
after publishing to an AVI file.
My project previews correctly, (entire file is 117 slides, 9
    minutes long.)
However, after publishing to an AVI file, the audio does not
match up with the video - the audio playback is slightly slower,
and after 2 minutes, has lapped the slide. Most of my slides
    average 2-6 seconds long.
I tried different publish settings, but have not found
anything to work, although changing some settings have improved the
    output somewhat.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
This file will be published on YouTube. This is a
    demonstration video only.
My audio was developed using text to speech, (so no music
quality sound is required) and each slide has one audio file per
    slide, (nothing embedded.)
    Settings I chose were:
Video Format: MJPEG Compressor (tried Indeo, but syncing was
    worse)
    Audio: PCM (only choice)
Encoding: FM Radio (64) and 11.025 KHz Frequency
    Encoding Speed 5
I restarted, and do not have any other program actively
    running (except Kasperski)
We recently reformatted the hard drive on this machine, took
every program off, defragmented, so the system is very lean and
    clean.
Added more memory, so now we have 3 GIG of memory.
Running XP, the only installed programs are MS Office,
    Kasperski, and Captivate.
Any help, or advice on best setting or configurations, would
    be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Adriana

Teri, do this for me, if you would, please:
    Check "
Movie > Preferences > Preferences tab > (check)
"Include Audio When Movie Is Generated".
    Did that help?
To Everyone Monitoring This Thread: Another easily
overlooked troublemaker is the "Audio" icon (tiny speaker) located
beneath the timeline when you are viewing a single slide
(duh - sorry, brain fart - of course that's when yo see it because
the timeline isn't visible until you go to Edit mode - double duh).
Anyway, if you click it, you will turn audio off for
all single-slide previews - note ... I said ONLY previews of
the currently open slide. This will NOT affect other previews, nor
will it affect audio in the published product . . .
Hope this info helped some - have a good weekend!

  • Audio/Video Synch Problem

I have the motorola HD DVR and am using it with the Zenith 19" LCD HDTV I finally got from Verizon.  After watching a channel for a few minutes, the audio and video go out of synch.  If I switch the channels back and forth the problem is corected for a few minutes.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

In regards to an A/V sync problem, I've just noticed in the last two or three days that the voice is no longer synced with the lips on both of my DVR equiped TVs.  One's an HD unit (but TV is Std) and the other is an Std unit.  Will rebooting the units fix or improve this problem?  Is there another way to correct this if that doesn't do it?

  • Video error when exporting from slideshow - any fixes?

When I try to export video from the LR Slideshow module I always get the same error msg:
    - Cannot create encoder instance, h264OutVideoNew failed
    - error: h264OutVideoChkSettings - no library function available
    - error: No encoder library could be found!
Can anyone help me remedy this?
    Thanks,
    Dennis

There's another thread here discussing the same error message, though not in exactly the same circumstance:

Perhaps something in that thread will help you.

  • I lose audio/video sync when mirroring a video from my Ipad to Apple TV

I downloaded Videos to my Ipad 3. When I try to use airplay to mirror to my TV.... The video gets progressively out of sync with the audio on the TV.
It looks fine on the IPad.... But the audio lags behind the video.
    Any help?

Sorry... I may not be clearly explaining my issue.
The video/ audio on the TV is out of sync. The video on the pad is fine.
This happens with all video when I mirror.
I have tried movies from iTunes as well as videos downloaded from other from other sources..

  • Audio/ video unsynced when exporting?!

we have a FCP project that uses both HD and SD properties.
our video tracks are in 1080i60 and our audio is in 48k SD. when we export they become unsynced and the video jumps...what is the fastest fix to this...is there a fix?
we have also tried exporting the audio and video seperately and to different drives.

Yes... so SD refers to the definition of the image...
just because you have HD and SD, it doesn't mean that audio has the same attributes... 48kHz / 16bit audio is a 'standard'... you don't get 48k HD audio, nor do you get 48k SD audio...

  • Audio/video disconnect when cropping

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide:
I am working in iMovie HD on a MBP (<1 year old).
I've built a 12 minute movie with about 50 clips.
When I first started putting the clips together, I could crop them individually (like I usually do).
For some reason, now I cannot. I get a warning message about audio locks being invalidated. If I crop anyway, the video and audio become disassociated- the video is cropped but the audio track is the same length.
Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong? I suppose the audio locks are contributing to the problem, but I don't really understand them despite going through the "help" documents.
    Thanks, Bob

  • Audio/video delay when viewing (ex: youtube)

whenever I try to view an online video for example on youtube or any online video lesson, there is a several second delay stammering through the whole thing. I dont have any updates needed.
    help?

Thanks for your trying to help me out.......
The problem with your answer seems to indicate that it is normal for one to exit an entire app (in this case, Safari) just to exit viewing a YouTube clip.  Then you would have to go back to Safari, go to your mail, then find where you were up to!  It it not like Apple to design stuff this way; there must be another way!
