Poor data transfer with 3G on iPad2?

I have an iPad 2 with 3G, and in recent months the 3G reception has deteriorated to being pretty much useless.  On speedtests my rates are very low.  I get 1 or 2 bars most of the time.  When I have my IPhone 4 right next to it, the reception is 4-5 bars on 3G and 3-4 mbps download rates. What gives?  I am going to get an IPad4th gen so i can get better cell service but if there will be outrageous charges on verizon for LTE4G perhaps I need ATT. But why such the difference between iPhone 4 and Pad 2?

    Hi Suzie T!
I would be asking the same questions if I were you! Let's see what we can do to figure this out for you! The best way to determine if an issue is equipment-related or network-related is if the two devices are right next to each other. Since your iPhone is getting a better signal, the indication would be that it's equipment related and some troubleshooting is needed. I would recomment a soft reset of the iPad 2 to see if that resolves the issue. Please hold down the power key and the home key simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Then, power back on and post back with the results.
Thanks,
Christina B

  • Data transfer with IDoc

    Hi All,
Can any one please explain me about "Data transfer with IDoc".

    Dear Prasad,
Using the IDoc option , you will not have a staging in BW like PSA were you can do corrections if required,
We can use IDOC option when we are very sure that data we are loading is error free,
and in older versions we are forced to use only IDOC option when doing hierarchy loads and its ruled out now,
    Data transfer with IDoc
The data is packed into IDocs by the source system and sent to the Business Information Warehouse. In BW your data is saved persistently and intransparently in the IDoc store. From there the IDocs can be updated in the IDocs manually or automatically.
It is used for hierarchies load Limitations with IDoc is:
transfer structure must not have more than 1000 Bytes in the character format.
If it is a critical data we can use IDocs it can't be modified here. In case the load fails we need to load data from source system.

  • Data transfer with some errors on registers. (Novice question)

    Hi experts.
First of all i wat to say that i'm realtively novice in BW.
I have an ods object.  I have a transformation>Data Transfer Processes>Infopackage to load data to it.
I execute this with a process chain.
well the roblem is that some registers I get are erroeous. That's ok, i just want lo load the OK regs, but when this happens the sistem does't load any.
I want to load only the good registers and be reported about the errors too.
Can someone please give me some advice about this?? I think thje secret is in the error handling customizing on the DTP, and maybe create a error DTP and something in the infopackage.
    Any tip to me please?
    Thank you!!!

    Hi,
you need to maintain some parameters in the update tab of  the dtp.
    a) set the error handling to update valid records, reporting possible (request green)
    b) enhance the no. of error records to the size of the data packet.
    c) create a error dtp
Now all records without error will be updated, the request will be green and so available for reporting. The records with errors will go to the error stack and can be edited there. The records of the error stack will be updated thru a error dtp.
    regards

  • Data Transfer with Socket

    Hi,
we want to transfer some arrays using socket.
On the server side we send two array (arrays of byte of ~50 Kbytes) with:
PrintStream out = new PrintStream(client.getOutputStream(), true)
    out.write(Array of byte).
On the client side we do not receive two stream of data of 50Kbyte, but we receive two or more stream of different size using:
    BufferedInputStream in = new BufferedInputStream(s.getInputStream()) in.read(Msg).
    Server side:
    Send Array1;
    Send Array2;
    Client Side:
    get Stream1;
    get Stream2;
    get Stream3;
    Stream1 = part of Array1
Stream2 = remaining of Array1 and part of Array 2
    Stream3 = remaining of Array2
Is it possible to receive each array in one stream each and not fragmented in different stream ??
    What we wanna is:
    Server side:
    Send Array1;
    Send Array2;
    Client side:
    get Stream1 (= Array1)
    get Stream2 (= Array2)
    Best Regs

I didn't quite understand your post, given your mix of Java code and pseudocode.
However, I shall attempt to give you some guidance:
When you say you are using multiple streams, I am assuming that you are only using 1 stream, but reading in from it multiple times.
With a network connection, delivery over the stream of all the content at one time cannot be guranteed. In practical terms this means that you cannot do the following:
    Server:
    send 50kb of data
    Client:
    receive 50kb of data.
    Close connection.
What you have to do instead is:
    Server:
    send 50kb of data
    Client:
read from stream until 50kb of data have been read.
    Close connection.
For the above to work, you must know that you are expecting 50kb of data. If you don't know how big the data stream is going to be, there are two solutions:
Solution 1: include length of data in send:
    Server:
send 2 bytes representing the length of the data (in this case 12bk)
    send 12kb of data
    Client:
read length of stream (2 bytes. Should give you 12kb).
    read 12kb of data.
    Close connection.
    Solution 2: include batch separators:
This solution is when you want to send a number of batches down the same line (kindda what you want).
    Server:
    send 50kb of data
    send separator (e.g. '|''|')
    send 34kb of data
    Client:
read stream until stream is closed, or separator encountered.
if separator encountered, create new data batch, continue as above.
The problem with solution 2, is that you now have to devise an appropriate way for escaping the separator. If the separator occurs naturally in the data you are sending, you should escape it on sending, and unescape it on reading in at the other end.
However, after all of the explanation above, my advise to you is: use the ObjectOutputStream and the ObjectInputStream classes. With these, you should be able to send and receive the array with no problems. Follow the advice in the JavaDocs and possibly the Java Tutorial for more info on using the ObjectStreams.

    Manuel Amago.

  • External data transfer with KEFC.

    Hi,
We are trying to make an upload of a cvs file with tcode KEFC with SAP ECC 6.0.
We have defined the structure and the transfer rules (KEFA and KEFB).
The same file has been used with SAP 4.6 with the same structure and transfer rules.
The upload has been made correctly on 4.6 while for ECC 6.0 we have a problem.
The screen after the upload gives a list with the data read from the csv file, and for some field the value is missing (GJAHR, PERBL and MENGE).
Opening the log generated, an empy list of the errors is shown (the light is red but all the record are blank).
I don't know if the problem is related to the file, but uploading the same file in 4.6, the transfer data is correct.
We have created the same structure for the two environments with the same field and the same lenght:
    (KEFA)
    Sender field 4.6     Type 4.6     Lenght 4.6     Sender field 6.0     Type 6.0     Lenght 6.0
BUKRS                       CHAR        4     BUKRS                     CHAR     4
WERKS                       CHAR        4     WERKS                     CHAR     4
ARTNR                       CHAR       18     ARTNR                     CHAR     18
KOKRS                       CHAR           4     KOKRS                     CHAR     4
GJAHR                       NUMC        4     GJAHR                     NUMC     4
PERBL                       NUMC        7     PERBL                     NUMC     7
    ABSMG_ME       UNIT        3     ABSMG_ME     UNIT     3
MENGE                       NUMC       12     MENGE                     NUMC     12
VRGAR                       CHAR       1     VRGAR                     CHAR     1
VERSI                       CHAR       3     VERSI                     CHAR     3
VKORG                       CHAR       4     VKORG                     CHAR     4
KNDNR                       CHAR       10     KNDNR                     CHAR     10
VTWEG                       CHAR       2     VTWEG                     CHAR     2
KTGRD                       CHAR       2     KTGRD                     CHAR     2
PLTYP                       CHAR       2     PLTYP                     CHAR     2
but we have identified a difference during the setting of the transfer rule (KEFB): in the 4.6 the sender field have a different lenght from the same ones in the ECC 6.0.
We have tried to re-create a new structure, but the sender field lenght remain the same.
Do you know which is the problem? Could be possible that the cause is this difference between the field lenght? If yes, how we can solve this problem?
Thanks a lot for your collaboration,
    Regards,
    Jody Mancini.

    Hi Sandhya,
checking in the KEFD tcode, all the transfer rule between sender fields and receiving fields are correct.
Following you can find the rules:
Rec. field      Description         Lenght      Sender field      Formula
ABSMG       Sales quantity          8            ---                 MENGE
    ARTNR         Product                  36          ARTNR             ---
BUKRS        Company Code        8           BUKRS             ---
GJAHR         Fiscal year              8           GJAHR             ---
    KNDNR        Customer                20          KNDNR             ---
KOKRS        CO area                  8           KOKRS             ---
    KTGRD         AcctAssgGr            4           KTGRD              ---
    PERIO          Period/year            14          PERBL              ---
VKORG        Sales org.               8          VKORG              ---
VRGAR         Record type            2          VRGAR              ---
VTWEG        Distr. channel          4          VTWEG              ---
    WERKS        Plant                      8          WERKS              ---
WWPLT        Price list type          4          PLTYP               ---
The field MENGE is the Sales quantity of the input file and PERBL is concatenate of the period and year.
The rules seems to be correct.
The difference I wrote yesterday is relates to the lenght of the receiving field.
In the ECC 6.0 all fields (excepting ABSMG) have a double lenght of 4.6:
    Field     Lenght 6.0     Lenght 4.6
    ABSMG     8     8
    ARTNR     36     18
    BUKRS     8     4
    GJAHR     8     4
    KNDNR     20     10
    KOKRS     8     4
    KTGRD     4     2
    PERIO     14     7
    VKORG     8     4
    VRGAR     2     1
    VTWEG     4     2
    WERKS     8     4
    WWPLT     4     2
The problem could be this different lenght? If so, where I can modify the lenght of the receiving fields?
    Thanks again,
    Regards,
    Jody Mancini.

  • Low data transfer with memory stick on a Satellite A100-207

Hi, whenever I stick the memory stick from my Sony Ericsson P990i Smartphone into my notebook it says it has detected new hardware and needs to reboot to use it.
I kinda expected this first time, but it does it EVERY TIME now. Which means transfering files onto the memory stick takes a lot longer than it should and it is far easier (but a lot less convient) to transfer them via my network to my main home PC and use the card reader in my Epson printer to put the files on the memory stick.
Anyone know why this happens and how to stop it. I need to regularly update files on the memory stick as they are edited both on the laptop and the phone (via QucikOffice which comes pre-installed and alows editing of word and excel files).
Any help or ideas is appreicated.
    Andy

I agree with Andrej. You should be 100% sure that this card is compatible with the card reader on the notebook.
Furthermore what transfer rate do you expect?
I think every card has different write/read access times. So do not compare it with other cards.

  • Satellite M100: Slow WLan data transfer with 3945ABG Intel Wlan card

Have just popped a brand new M100 with XP upgraded to SP2 onto our network and am having trouble with the Wifi.
Everything works, just really really slowly. Takes about 5 minutes to drag an MP3 off the file-server, web pages download at the speed of a dial-up modem and my beard doubles in length waiting for even a modest flash file to load.
Have tried the following so far...
    - Speed is good on the ethernet cable, just not on the wifi.
    - Connection speed is good on the wifi (11Mbps) and signal strength is excellent.
    - All other laptops on the network are working fast
    - I have updated the drivers to the latest provided by intel, no change
    - I have applied all service packs and updates to XP (was a brand new box yesterday)
    - Disabling various modes on the driver make no difference
    - Switching off the QoS mode in the network panel doubled the trickle of data
I see from earlier posts that I'm not the only one who has had this problem with the Intel 3945ABG chips, but I don't see a solution posted. Has anyone had success is solving this kind of problem.
The data throughput is barely usable for internet access and quite inoperable for LAN filesharing or Skype.

Sounds weird. If PCMCIA WLan card gives you good speed it means that there is nothing wrong with your Internet connection, just with built-in wlan card.
You probably should use your warranty services or better yet to return it to the shop and get a new one straight away.
In my country if something brakes within a few days after purchase you don't need to send it to repair under warranty because the shop usually agrees to replace it with new one if they have it in stock.
There is one thing I think you better try: Take it to your friend who has wireless network or to the nearest free hot spot, connect to internet from there and see what speed you get.
It could be, though longshot, that your router has compatibility issues with this specific built-in wlan card.
For example I also have a slight compatibility issue between my d-link router and built-in intel wlan card, but it is about security protocols and not the speed.
Overall it seems to me that this intel wlan card is not that good.

  • Poor data rates with new G5 Dual Core & factory installed Airport Extreeme

I have finished porting over data from my G4/500mHz to my new G5/2.3. Placing the G4 off line and using the new G5 has me disturbed regarding the wireless performance.
I first noticed that the signal strength indicators on the G4 and the G5 never matched - the G5 was always lower. On boot the G5 wireless signal came on strong then faded to a single dot. I did the CNET cable modem test and it came up at 58k/sec!!!!!
I have been testing this all day. I now have my wifes IBM laptop running the same test and I get 1.5mb/sec. The old G4 agrees with the IBM at 1.5mb/sec.
I swapped out the Linksys with an old B model and the results are the same.
Is any one else seeing this happen??
G5 Dual Core 2.3 gHz factory Extreem card   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   Linksys54G and Comcast cable

Actually, I think the problem may be were the antenna is located on the Dual Core G5. On previous versions, the antenna was external, you could even add a higher gain antenna if needed. The new dual core and quad have the antenna internal to the machine, and I think this is probably why your G5 is showing a low signal strength.
I would imagine two possible fixes for you, assuming you want to stay with a wireless connection.
First, an external antenna. You would need to find out the type of antenna connector used on the Airport Extreme/Bluetooth card internal to your G5, then buy an external antenna with the same type of mating connector on its cable.
The second option would be to add either a USB Wireless adaptor, or an Ethernet wireless bridge. Either would provide you with a better wireless connection and the ability to move the antenna around to get the best reception.
The third (you knew there would be a third, right?) is to connect via standard Ethernet. Much faster and much more stable, though you will need to run cable.

  • ME 11 data transfer : with category as consignment

    Hi experts,
I am using batch input method and using standard program
    in lsmw.
After completing all the steps when i am running batch input session in foreground it is automatcially choosing the standard radio button of transaction me11, I need to choose the consignment radio button.
The field esokz which is present in me11, whoose value if 2 means consignment is not present in structured proposed by SAP IN THE STEP " MAINTAIN STRUCTURE RELATION" hence going further when the fields are mapped the field is not present .
could u please suggets an approach to make lsmw run me11 with option consignment.

    Hi,
    PLease use LSMW recording method.
I think it may work perfectly.

  • FTP Data Transfer with SAPFTPA

    Hello,
I would like to use the ftp-command "! ls -l".
As I use the " ! " in ftp, the command should be executed on the local pc/application server (not on the remote server).
When I use the rfc_destination SAPFTP the command runs perfect and I get as result (from FTP_COMMAND) all files listed.
But when I use the rfc_destination SAPFTPA I don't get the files listed.
    Also no error
Any ideas, how can get the result from an " ! " command???
    Much thx in advance
    Christian

I decided to use the SM69 command.
So I use a direct OS command instead of the remote "local" command.

  • Slow data transfer with Time Capsule on 802.11n ?

    Hi,
Actually, I don't know where to start. But let's explain my setup first:
My iMac (wired) and AppleTV (wireless) are connected to the Time Capsule (802.11n, 5Ghz)
My girlfriend's MacBook and 2 x iPhone 2G's (wireless) are connected to an Airport Extreme Base station (802.11b/g compatible).
The Time Capsule and AEBS are connected and show two different networks.
    Now the problem:
When I copy files from e.g. the iMac to the MacBook or to the Apple TV, it's very slow. I've used scp to copy a 200 mb file and it took about 1.20 minutes (at 2.5MB/s). I've did the same when the iMac was connected over wireless and it took about 3.45 to 4.30 minutes (at 1.0MB/s).
I'm not sure if this IS slow, but it certainly feels like it. 802.11n should be around 100 Mb/s in practice and 802.11b/g around 20-25 Mb/s.
By the way: downloading from the Internet is excellent, I get the full download/upload speed my provider offers for my subscription.
Second, I added the signal strength/noise levels for the Time Capsule attached devices. They vary around -68Db signal, -90Db noise.
The question is: are these levels normal ? What should be higher or lower ?
    Thanks in advance !
    Rutger

The new Airport Extremes and Time Capsules suffers from terrible performance over the 5GHz band and it's a problem that not only affects me and you, but hundreds of thousands of other owners.
Nobody knows if it's a firmware problem or the Marvell chips inside that's the problem, and Apple hasn't said or done anything for months.
I'm still hoping for a firmware update to solve this, but if it doesn't get fixed soon enough, I'm gonna return it and go back to backing up to wired disk and my rock solid Airport Express.
Not the happiest answer, but at least you have a clue now.
    Cheers,
    Koski

  • Flat files in Data transfer

Iam able to do tutorials for Direct input and batch input method.I tried doing BAPI and IDOCs too.The point where Iam getting strucked is with flat file.
For example If i want to transfer Purcharse order or vendor master information,I need to put valid data in text file.Lets say for material master, the valide material type is 'XYZ',if i put '123' in flat file,it throws the error that 123 is not valid material type(during the session processing). So I need to put only valid data in the flat text file. How to go about this?
    Hope you understood my question.
Another question is that does ALE deals with creating segments. In my understanding
LSMW is a tool which helps in data transfer with following ways
    i)Direct input method
    ii)Batch input method - recording
iii)BAPI - using built in business objects
iv)Idcos - using inbout idoc processing where we create ports.
BDC is another tool like LWMW,where the ways are call transaction and session.
Is what I understood correct?Any changes?

    Hi Gopi
    For the First Question:
We should always havea valid data in the input file for successful processing. otherwise by very nature of the program the LSMW throw an error saying that the data is invalid and I believe that this is the functionality that is required.
I am not sure abt ALE part
BDC is not a tool in SAP but its a programming done which is similar to the recording method in LSMW. instead of Autmatic generation of the code we write a custome code to upload the data using the recording done either by call transaction or session method. in short its not a tool but one kid of programming logi to upload the data.

  • HT4859 access system data backups in iCloud using iPad2?

Am I able to view any system data stored with iCloud on iPad2?

I had the views checkbox checked already, but I hadn't thought about the permissions.  I have full permissions to the database and the folder, so that doesn't seem to be it.
I've been able to get most of the information I need without it, but there is one report that I can't get done without them.  I tried using SQL - Add Command for the report but I can't find a way to query it without using a cursor and even though Crystal executes the SQL command with the Cursor the data pulled from the Cursor doesn't show up.  Frustrating.

  • Data Transfer methods

    Hi all,
Can anyone please explain me what are synchronous and asychronous data transfer methods?
Where are the settings to be done in R/3 to get data to BI ?
    Thanks in advance

    Data Transfer
    Definition
    Synchronous Data Transfer
Data is transferred directly (simultaneously, synchronously) from program to program via CPI-C communication.
Both communications partners must be available at the same time. Because the central SAP system in a typical SAP installation does not run round the clock, but the linked systems are frequently in operation 24 hours a day, asynchronous data transfer is necessary.
Synchronous data transfer has the following disadvantages:
Transfer is not possible is the partner system or the line is not available.
A data backlog in the reciever system causes a data backlog in the sender system. Processing in the application is delayed.
If a connection is broken, it may be necessary to perform a recovery in both systems.
    Asynchronous Data Transfer
With asynchronous, or buffered, data transfer, data is temporarily stored in a sequential queue.
Asynchronous transfer has the following advantages:
Wait times in the sender system are avoided.
A recovery is automatically performed in the sender system.
Transfer need not be performed during online time. This avoids placing unnecessary load on the system and thus helps to reduce costs.
The Queue Application Programming Interface (Q-API) is an SAP interface for asynchronous data transfer.
Data is buffered sequentially and processed immediately or later by an asynchronously running process.
One possible processing method is to send data to an external partner system via CPI-C. Data units that belong together can be stored in accordance with transaction and sent to a communications partner.
Data is buffered in queues before it is transferred to the target system.
In an R/3 System, the queues are stored in a relational database. All R/3 database systems are supported.
