Poor Flash Player Performance in Mozzilla Firefox

Hello!
I have recently noticed that Adobe Flash Player has very bad performance in Mozzilla Firefox. The most common issue is with 4K YouTube videos. I have a GTX 770 graphics card, so there should not be any problem with these videos, and there is not any problem in other browsers. But for some reason, I get very low framerates in Firefox while watching 4K videos. I tried to reinstall Flash Player, but it did not help me. I have the latest stable Nvidia drivers.
What can cause the bad performance?

In all my systems i put that mms.cfg file; regardless of whether crappy flash thinks my GPU is capable or not!

Hi guys - for me this helped.
If Flash player is working in IE, then:
Close Firefox - open Internet Explorer - got to the Adobe Flash Player Site:
    http://get.adobe.com/de/flashplayer/
In IE you can see there is the 64-bit version - (in Firefox there was just the 32-bit version) - got to: (others)
    http://get.adobe.com/de/flashplayer/otherversions/
    choose your system and version
download it via internet explorer and install the adobe flash player
restart firefox and it should work.
helped me after wasting one day of my life to find a solution, alle sites work just fine now.
    hope this helps.

  • Flash Player performance slowness and mouse lag

I've been having this problem for a while.  I already did the usual google searching and didn't find anything useful.  Specifically its games I play on kongregate and other sites.  When they are using flash player I tend to get poor performance.  If it uses a mouse cursor the mouse lags/skips across the flash player window, when it leaves the flash player area the lag doesn't occur. I dont have problems when I'm in games or general responsiveness of the system, I've plenty of space, low processor utilization, low memory utilization, etc etc.
I have windows 8.1, IE11, the latest flash player, video and system drivers are all the latest and greatest.  I've found articles suggesting to turn on/off hardware/software gpu acceleration in IE, it also occurs in Firefox.
    ideas?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try this. Which browser (and version) are you using? My question was as much about the performance of Flash player in a 64 bit environment as it was about the video playback hardware performance. I'm sceptical of the shared video memory and throughput performance of the Intel-based 4500HD graphics package in my laptop. I'm worried that it might not be sufficient for full-screen flash video playback, or for large external displays, so I'm trying to explain the poor platback performance that I'm seeing, and hopefully show that it's not the fault of the video HW.
Which video HW do you have in your dell?
    Thanks

  • Flash player lags bad with Firefox but not with google chrome, what is the problem ?

Every time i try to play any game using flash player with Firefox i have a lot of lag time. I have to stop playing and wait for things to catch up to play to play any more,I do not have this problem with google chrome playing the same games.I have updated all add ons and plugins.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == about a month ago

Everyone can blame flash player if they want, but the truth is for me I went from an earlier version that had plugin container which created lag for me. I disabled the plugin container in about:config settings, and firefox worked fine. Plugin container screwed up any videos i tried to watch on the internet by freezing, lagging, and crashing firefox. I was fine after I disabled plugin container, but then eventually some time later down the road I received a warning that i would soon be forced to update my mozilla so I eventually/reluctantly gave in and complied. At this point the same problems started again!!! I disabled plugin container again and it did help a bit right away. But this version 12.0 even with plugin container disabled with just a few tabs open I receive choppy video (like a snapshot of the video at 3 seconds in, and then another snap at 6 seconds in) I'm only seeing snapshots of the video like every 3 seconds while the audio continues on fine. That"s how bad the lag is. This is horrible performance for a browser. If I try to load a video while one is already playing, just that little bit of stress (2 youtube videos open at once) is all it takes to crash this poor performing version of firefox. I mean I can't even close the tabs after these situations and the audio sometime runs after closing for me as well. These problems did not start until the version changes of firefox and the addition of plugin container, not flash player. I have been a loyal mozilla fan, but my patients is wearing so so thin with the performance of this browser at the moment. Unfortunately I just realized for the first time ever I actually have to (against my will) install another browser just to watch videos. How sad is that? Considering watching videos is one of the main uses of a browser, I consider this version a failure. How could I not??? I guess I have no choice but to Chrome it up. I hope a fix for this problem can be found soon for I miss the great performing days of this previously top performing browser. Fingers Crossed!!!

  • Why doesn't Adobe Flash Player 11 work with Firefox 7

Firefox 7.0.1 does not recognize that Adobe Flash 11 is installed. it works with Safari, not Firefox

    Matt,
You have to run Firefox in 32-bit mode in order for it to run Adobe Flash Player 11 on Firefox 7.0.1 on Snow Leopard.
Mac: Get Info (Command+I) on Firefox icon and click box run in 32-bit mode. I think its shoddy Mozzilla support and really lame that they didn't post this.

  • I have an AMD64 Dual Processor and I am trying to load a 64 bit version of Flash Player Plug-in for FireFox but it does not appear to be working. Do you have any suggestions?

I downloaded flashplayer10_2_p3_64bit_plugin_111710.exe from the Adobe website and ran the .exe I opened Firefox and attempted to view some clips from msnbc.com. However, I received the following message:
To watch video in the new msnbc.com player, you will need to update your version of Adobe Flash Player.

    UserAgent for the OP is - Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100405 Namoroka/3.6.3 - he might be running a 64-bit 3rd party build.

  • Flash Player constantly crashes on Firefox and Chrome, works on Safari

    Hello!
This is my first time posting here. I've been working on this all day and have made NO progress.
I'm on a Mac OS X 10.9.3 (this was also happening with 10.9.2, I applied the 10.9.3 update today hoping it would make difference).
ANY version of Flash Player I've installed today has worked fine on Safari, and not worked on both Chrome and Firefox. I've uninstalled reinstalled both Firefox and Chrome many times. Both browsers are up to date (Chrome v34, Firefox v29). There are no logs or anything ever.
The plugin runs for a little bit then dies. I've tried reverting to version 12, and version 11, neither made a difference. I've done the whole disable the pepper plugin with Chrome and had Chrome using the other one I had installed. No difference.
I'm OUT of ideas and can't find any other information or help with this. PLEASE HELP!

Your issue is distinct from the original poster's issue about a crash on Mac.  I've branched this out to a new thread so that we're not confusing everyone.
Firefox on Win8 isn't very stable.  We're collaborating with Mozilla on improvements, and my test results with the daily development builds are really promising, but it will be a few more weeks before they actually make it to production releases.
In the meantime, you're way better off using IE or Chrome.

  • Flash Player 9 works on Firefox 2 and Netscape Navigator 9, but NOT on Safari 3

After hours of uninstalls/reinstalls of the most recent
release of Flash Player, repairing of disk permissions, and a
number of other moves to fix Safari ... so Flash content would
    play, I stumbled onto a semi-obvious fix. Safari's "Preferences..."
menu had been over looked. I did not go there and look under
Security > Web Content. There, I eventually looked and found
that "Enable plug-ins" was unchecked. With that simple preference
enabled, Flash media was again playing on Safari!. WS

I have the EXACT same problem. i cannot find a solution, this
is the first post ive read where someone has the exact same
problem. Mac powerbook g4, powerPC processor, OSX Tiger, Firefox.
Flash was working fine up until today for me.
Now movies give me the message;you must have adobe flash
player 9 installed'. when i try to install player it finishesthe
install then brings up Firefox Adobe page, which says additional
plugins are needed, when i click on the plugins install, it takes
me thru the install then says 'failed' with the option to install
manually, which takes me back to the original download page. i have
tried untinstalling, restarting, changing internet plug.
    preferences.....anyone ...help????

  • Flash player crashes continuously in Firefox--tried everything

For the past few days Firefox browser videos requiring Flash player do not open but give me the 'crash screen'. It works fine with Internet Explorer because it is built in. I have tried all of the recommended fixes from adobe and and firefox.
    I have enabled in firefox
I have disabled all plugins and extensions then tried enabling Flash Player
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash player a few times
I have tried adjusting Flash player settings
'' " deleting FPs cache, etc.
I have not been able to adjust FPs acceleration because it won't open in the support pages.
    I have: a newer toshiba Satellite L70 (intel i7)
    64bit
    windows 8.1
    I am stumped!

I too have experienced a problem very similar to this and was hoping to find help here. Another person has experienced a very similar problem, but without response here: Adobe flash player freezes constantly
This all started when I updated to version 16.0.0.305. When I downgrade to version 16.0.0.296, the problem is resolved. However 16.0.0.305 is a bug fix that patches a critical zero day exploit, so I do not want to stick with it for very long.
I hope this is a known issue and Adobe will be releasing a patch for it soon.
    Best Regards,
    -Stefan

  • Flash player not installing on Firefox or Internet explorer...

I downloaded firefox as my alternate web browser. I play games and things of the like on my laptop, which is a Toshiba Satellite C655 (I'm pretty sure it is ). My flash player works on Google Chrome, but not on Internet Explorer or FireFox. Any help? I've downloaded it (or so it says) 4 times since Sunday night, but everytime I go to play the game, the game says I need to install adobe flashplayer. And this is multiple games so it isn't the game.

Yes, I have downloaded and installed it. My windows version is Windows 7, I don't know what you mean by edition hmm, do you think it's the ActiveX thing people have been having trouble with? It is in those two folders. these are what are in the folder:
           C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
              Flash64_11_2_202_233.ocx
              FlashInstall
              FlashUtil64_11_2_202_233_ActiveX.dll
              FlashUtil64_11_2_202_233_ActiveX
              FlashUtil64_11_2_202_233_Plugin
              NPSWF64_11_2_202_233.dll
        C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash
              FlashInstall
              Flash32_11_2_202_233.ocx
              flashplayer.xpt
              FlashPlayerUpdateService
              FlashUtil32_11_2_202_233_ActiveX.dll
              FlashUtil32_11_2_202_233_ActiveX
              FlashUtil32_11_2_202_233_Plugin
              mms.cfg
              NPSWF32_11_2_202_233.dll
              FlashPlayerTrust(folder):
                   Bandoo.cfg
If that makes any sense to you, and I hope I did it right, then can you tell me what the problem is?

  • Flash player crashing in safari + firefox

    flash player 10.1.102.64 OS X 10.6.5  Safari 5.0.2  Firefox 3.6.8  iMac 9.1 Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz
Ever since I updated the flash player, my browser (either/both of them) eventually crashes while watching flash content. It doesn't usually happen for the first hour or so, but it happens a lot, maybe every few hours. Its really getting annoying. Sometimes I can switch browsers for a day or 2 before it happens again. Sometimes I can't force quit + must reboot.
This very rarely happened before the most recent upgrade. Also its crashing on fairly stable, reliable sites, ie, comedycentral.com, lynda.com, cnn.com ...

I haven't seen any Mac users in this forum for a very long time.
All I can recommend you is to disable Hardware Acceleration, and if that does not fix your problem, check http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html

  • Flash Player not working in Firefox

Suddenly Firefox will not play flash player content called
when I play games online. It worked fine a few days ago.
When I click on the link, it opens the game page, but where
the game should appear, I see a blank black box. When I click on
the "Play online game" link I also get a large empty black box.
I am running Windows XP on an HP Pavilion ze2315us laptop. I
recently installed trial version of Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro.
In efforts to fix the problem I tried the following:
Removed adblocker addresses that might conflict.
    Checked blocked sites
    Removed and reinstalled Flash Player.
    Reinstalled Firefox.
Set folder options to use Firefox to open SWF files
    All to no avail.
I tried the web site in IE. Had to download and install Flash
Player again but it works fine in IE.
Afterwards, it still did not work in Firefox.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hello,

    application/x-shockwave-flash
    Shockwave Flash

Please, in which OS did you worked?
In the past I with other versions, it did work without any problem.
Perhaps I can look if I have firewall is turned on?
Thanks in advance for any answer,

  • Flash player not running in Firefox, even worse in IE

I can't seem to be able to run the Flash player.  If I try to run a video on Adobe TV, I can see a normal video player with the buttons I would expect to see: Pay, Rewind, etc.  But nothing happens when I press Play.  I tried this same video using IE, but it looks even worse: I see nothing but a white box -- no controls at all.
I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit.  I'm using the latest version of Firefox (3.6.11) and the latest version of Flash (10.1.85.3).  I almost never use IE, so I don't know whether I have the latest verion or not (8.0.7600).
Suddenly and recently, I'm having an additional problem.  I don't know whether it could be related or not, but just in case:  I suddenly could not upload a file using Firefox.  I could, however, upload the same file using IE.  I've checked all my security settings in Windows, Firefox, and McAfee, but can't find anything which would block uploading.
Another bit of info just in case: Windows stealthily installed Windows  Live.  When I started having the upload problems, I uninstalled Windows Live.
Message was edited by: Rodieck to add additional information.

I've found the problem, and it had noting to do with Flash.  All the problems were caused by me: somehow (and for some unknown reason) I had my security software set to block "Firefox Plugin Container" which was needed to run the Flash player.  Unblocking this also fixed my Firefox uploading program.
Thanks for your reponse, though, helpful person whose name I cannot read :^) You started me learning more about video players, and that finally caused me to stumble across the right answer.
