Poor iPad 2 3G signal

So I have an iPad 2 & an iPhone 4. I have At&t service on both. I'm consistently getting 2-4 bars on my phone, but no signal on my pad. Anyone have any ideas as to the reason for this?

I have the same problem in London, 1-2 bars ot of 5, while Huawei E586 has 5 out of 5.

  • Verizon Ipad Dropping LTE Signal

    Dear Community,
For about 1 month now, my ipad (Verizon 32gb Wi-Fi +Lte) which is running IOS 5.1.1 has been dropping the 4g lte signal at an increasing rapid place in the NYC/ Long Island Area. While i would normally attribute this to Verizon's coverage, the fact is that i am operating in the same area i have been since i purchased the ipad on march 16th. Previously, the ipad held the signal flawlessly and with at least 4 bars.
Now it will show 4 bars and then all of the sudden go to "cannot connect to Network"
I have removed and put back in the sim card and I have also reset my network connections but none of this has seem to have had an effect.
Does anyone else suffer from this issue and know a workaround or at least have a suggestion as to whether or not to visit apple or verizon?
    Thanks
    Andy

I am having this same issue with my Verizon LTE iPad. I am in the NYC area near Grand Central. I will have full service, and then I will randomly lose service. My connection does come after a few second, however the brief outage impacts music/video streaming, etc.

  • IPad 3G losing signal

    Hi there
I have an iPad 4 32GB wifi and 3G. The problem is that it keeps losing the 3G signal, it says "no service" so then I have to restart it, which becomes a pain every time I want to use it. When it has finished restarting, the signal strength is very strong, although I haven't even moved.. This is since I've upgraded to iOS 7.
I've also got an iPad 2. I have them side by side, loading the same webpage and the iPad 2 manages to load the page way faster!! Yes, they are using the same internet, same speed etc. I've noticed my iPad also freezes halfway when loading the page.
This is becoming a real pain every time I want to use it..
Anyone have the same problem or does anyone have any advice??
    Thanks

  • IPad 2 WIFI signal going in and out.

I have the iPad2 16 gig white  (wifi only) and never had a problem with it.  One day I am using it and it starts dropping signal.  I am in another room from my router and I will have 2 out of 3 bars.  Then suddenly it drops to the dot, losing signal.  It will suddenly pop back to 2-3 bars only to lose it again.  While this is happening my laptop (macbook) and phone (iPhone4) are fine with full signal strength.
I have reset my router, restarted my iPad, reset/wiped my iPad clean, updated my iPad, turned the brightness up/down, turned off blue tooth, reset netowrk settings. I have changed my DNS to several different #'s.  This isn't just on my network, it is others as well. Nothing is working.
I will say when I am within 10 feet of the router it does not lose signal and is fine.  Only when I am in other rooms does it start acting funny.  My other divices are fine where my iPad is losing the signal. But before the issue the ipad was fine.  This is very frustrating.
My APPLE warranty is voided because I had the screen replaced.
    Any other suggestions?

    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

  • Ipad losing Wifi Signal

    Hi
My ipad is repeated losing it's Wifi signal.  It is doing this at various locations, so I don't think it is a router issue.
I've tried Reset Network Settings and the problem persists.
    Any suggestions?

I would recommend taking a look at troubleshooting found in the article below.

  • IPad Air 3G Signal

Well, only a few weeks ago I got a brand new iPad Air and from the very beginning the 3G signal bars have shown an average of 2 dots with a vodafone uk sim However when you use the speedtest app it struggles to connect to the internet. At first I thought this May have been vodafone uk's fault but I then decided to change to an ee sim as the 3G signal is faster and stronger in my area. With this ee SIM card it is still having the same troubles, I have normally 3 dots but at times it doesn't connect to the internet or when it does it is really fast. This has been testing it when it's been in the same spit and not moved at all. The other thing is I have an old ipad 2 on ee and it's positioned where the Air is and it connects to the internet first time very time. I have a feeling my problem lies with the iPad. What are the thoughts of the people? Anyone having the same problem? Any advice?
    Thank you.

Turn off and back on 3G Data in Settings > Cellular .
If that doesn't work, you can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears. Try again to see if the problem persists.
If still not working, try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

  • IOS 7.1 and iPad mini wifi signal frequent interruptions

I have an iPad mini first génération and iOS 7.1 ... And The signal Is frequently interrupted ... I cannot play online or use correctly sites That require a continuous connection.
Any idea what have to be done to gain serenity ?!

    Hey kassburn,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with Wi-Fi connectivity on your iPad mini. The following resource may help to resolve your issue:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    1. Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
    2. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your W-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
    3. Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
    4. Restart your iOS device.
    5. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    6. Tap  and Forget this Network.
    7. Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
    8. Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
    9. Update your device to the latest version of software.
    10. Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
Wi-Fi disconnects or signal strength is less than expected
    1. Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).
    2. Check for sources of potential interference.
    3. Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.
    4. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including
              - previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
              - recently used Bluetooth accessories
              - VPN and APN settings
    Thanks,

  • Ipad air no signal

Why does my ipad air  show no signal when mobile data turned on?

I connect my iPad Air to my TV using the Lightning to Digital AV Adapter and it works fine. The problem you're experiencing has to lie in one of a few locations.
    1. Bad HDMI cable or the connectors on the cable. Check with a different cable.
    2. Bad adapter. Just because the lightning port on the adapter allows charging your iPad doesn't mean the HDMI port is good.
    3. Software problem on the iPad. First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
    4. Hardware problem on the iPad.
    5. Wrong HDMI input selected on the TV. But you've already checked this one.
If the easy choices above do not help I would have an Apple technician examine your iPad and the Digitial AV adapter. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • My iPad 2 3G signal has disappeared for about 3-4 months.

I thought it was Apple that some disabled the 3G function but somehow, my friend's iPad 2 has 3G signal. Why is this so?

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go.

  • Status bar shows "iPad" instead of signal strength

my ipad shows "iPad" in the status bar area where you would usually see signal strength/wifi/3G. I cannot get the 3G or wifi to connect. any suggestions?

    Hi,
If 3G and WI FI are enabled, and you are still having problems, tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Then restart your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
See if that makes a difference.
Make sure Restrictions is turned off. Settings / General / Restrictions.
    Carolyn

  • IPad lost WiFi signal everytime i wakes up

    HI all,
I just got my iPad Wifi for 2 days, everything works like in heaven except the WiFi problem...
And I am not sure if this is related to the weak signal problem that everyone is having in another thread, the problem that I am having is more related to losing a presistent WiFi connection everytime iPad wakes up from the sleep.
It does not happen with my iPod/iPhone at all. But it is frustrating and idiotic to have to go into setting and press the wifi AP name before I can use the iPad.
    Any advice?

    Bob Sabiston wrote:
When a thread has over 100,000 views I would say that there is a problem. And that is not even the issue I am having! Over the past couple of weeks, I have logged in and seen many MANY threads about the the WiFi and not connecting, some with view counts approaching that same number.
The number of times a thread has been viewed has nothing to say about the frequency of a problem or even the reality of a problem. Threads are viewed by those who are simply curious or by those who think that they might be able to help. WiFi can be a tricky area, if you gave the specific details of exactly what problem you are having and exactly what equipment you are using, then someone might be able to offer a useful suggestion.
Apple has a STICKY at the top of this group about this issue -- unfortunately their suggestions do not work, for me and many others.
The sticky at the top of this forum isn't from Apple but it does point to some Apple trouble shooting guides. These mainly talk about generic problems with WiFi that could occur with any device.
I didn't take it back before because this is the first time in many years that an Apple product seems to have a serious flaw. I figured they would put out a software patch to 'fix' it. I had faith in them, in other words. Since they haven't put out a patch or even said one is coming, I now think maybe it is a hardware thing, and if that is the case then I would think it would be in the news.
You don't seem to consider the chance that there could simply be a H/W problem with just your iPad (it happens). The approach you should follow now would be to ask for a replacement. If that new replacement iPad also doesn't work do NOT immediately jump to the conclusion that all iPads are defective but, rather, conclude that maybe there is something wrong in your environment that is causing the problem. It's nice to have confidence in Apple but, if something doesn't work, take action to get it corrected.

  • IPad loosing wifi signals

Im experiencing some problems with my ipad2 lately
I noticed that after I upgraded it to ios 5, It keeps loosing signals in my house. So each 10 or 15 minutes, it ask me if It turn into a 3G connection and asks me to join my wifi network.
    Any one having this problem

This forum is intended for questions about old, pre-PowerMac G3 hardware, and doesn't get much traffic. Hence it's not the forum where you'll be most likely to get help with your problem. I'd suggest you ask this question in the iPad forum; you'll be more likely to get assistance there. The iPad forum can be found here:

  • I have two google mail accounts, one is work, one is home. I prefer to keep things separate. On my iPad, formerly had no problem checking each account. Now when I log into either account, my poor iPad acts like its spinning its head.

I have two google email accounts - one is personal, the other professional. I like them being separate. Until a few days ago, my ipad could pull up either account I needed at the time. Now, though, when I try to pull up either account after signing in, the line above the blue line (sorry I'm new to this and don't know the terms) switches rapidly between the two account names and nothing appears below where the mail should be. What do I do? Thanks

    Update to above question:
    Hello All,
To anyone with the same problem described above, on THEIR iPad (if it is running iOS 7.0.2):
Go to Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; DELETE your *******@btinternet.com e-mail account, that you originally set up either using 'Other', or the 'BT' option which I am sure was in the list previous to the iOS 7 update.
Then ADD a NEW account choosing YAHOO from the list of options. DO NOT USE 'OTHER'.
Enter the correct details just as you (almost certainly) had already done in your previous attempts using 'other'.
When you see the 'verifying......' and 'the blue ticks' you should be able to exit settings and open your mail app and then receive all your 'old' e-mails again, AND be able to SEND as well.
All my 'old' e-mails, were NOT found in the 'old e-mail' folder though. THEY are still in my inbox.
So this fix worked for me.
After I deleted my account from 'OTHER' and put it in Yahoo, I like other people also ended up with more folders.
I hope this works for you on YOUR Apple devices.
    Bob

  • Wifi signal is poor. Sometime the signal lost and have to lock back my phone.

Do u have the same experience? Im only one room away from my wifi router but the wifi signal keep on losing especially when my phone in use for more than 10min(approximtly). Tired of this.

Roamingnome, thanks for your response. Although I have been a Bell (Canada) customer for my WiFi signal for years, the 5c and its necessary mobility plan, is very recent. Some years ago, Bell supplied its own ‘router’ for my computer, and claimed that it was possible to get their WiFi signal only with the router they supplied. When I recently received the 5c, I wondered if the plan it requires, which is within the much wider, overall Bell zone, could be used somehow to get my Air online - some sort of tethering? - that allows me to give up the Air WiFi service and router all together, but still get the Air connected. Here in Canada, Bell Mobility and other Bell services are very separate. Any suggestions appreciated.
