Poor or no sound on QC61-314US

This is my second post on this subject. No one reponded to the first. I am unable to spend  hours on the telephone with a tech rep. I need help via other channels. How do I get Email support or support here. I would greatly appreciate some suggestions

Welcome Orange customers to the age old problem of reception issues with the iPhone. We have had the same problem on O2 and, it seems on AT&T in the USA. I'm on my second iPhone, recently upgrading from the 2nd Generation model to the 3Gs, hoping the new model would be better as far as signal is concerned- it isn't. I was about to switch to Orange, but I see the problem is there too- poor signal, drop outs, the odd cut off. It seems to be an Apple issue.
I still have the old iPhone for now, so I'm taking both off to a nearby Apple store to have them tested. This might show an issue with the particular phones I have (a coincidence if it is), but it might show a larger, more concerning issue.
If one must have an iPhone, then there would seem to be a need to install a signal booster at your home/work in order to get the thing to work properly. Not really what this is all about though, is it?

  • Poor Internet Channel Sound Quality

    Hi,
I've recently updated to the new YouView+ box from the first generation one, and have started watching more of the internet channels, as I've got the Entertainment package now (Nat Geo, Discovery etc.).
I've noticed the sound quality can be quite poor at times. The sound has that slightly tinny edge that you would get on a really low quality MP3. I thought upgrading to the HD channels would improve it but sadly not.
Does anyone else have the same issue?
    Thanks

try changing soudn from stereo to surround mode, the sound quality depends on channels broadcasting some tv series are broadcasted in 5.1 but most of them in 2 ch AAC.

  • Poor In Car Sound

Hi, I drive a Ford S-Max [Ford Europe] which has a built in blue tooth system made by Nokia.
Since the 2.2 upgrade the volume and quality of my in-car calls has degraded to the point where I now have to hold the phone in order that the caller can hear me.
Yes I have turned the volume up whilst the call is active.
The greater issue is that the caller thinks that I am sitting in a trash can as the echoeing is so severe.
There were no such complaints with the v2.0 or v2.1 software.
Has anyone suffered a similar problem and is there a solution?
    Thanks
    Paul Backhouse

I have a Mini (R56) and was having the same issues being reported above. I have found that by increaseing the volume on iPhone to the maximum setting, and having the Aux input volume set at the lower to middle range reduces/eliminates the background noise/static/hiss significantly.
Try this with your car and iPhone 4 to see what I mean:
Start by playing a song with the volume at maximum on your iPhone 4, then decrease the volume one increament at a time. You'll find at one point about 2/3 volume the sound drops off greater and the hiss/static starts. The greater you reduce the volume from this point the great the static noise becomes.
Move volume all the way back up the hiss/static dissapears again.
    Hope that helps some people

  • Poor iPhone4 (iPod) sound quality

I have an iPhone4 (iOS-4.3.4 | 32GB) that is only 1 month old and I'm finding that the phone's iPod sound quality basically stinks.  It's extremely tin can quality even Vs my iPod.  My cheap earbuds that came with the iPod sound 1000% better than my $400 Monster earbuds.
I know that unlike the iPod you can download your music on the iPhone at about any data size, but went with the lower to keep the size of the music library smaller.  But, did that kill the sound quality or is there some problem with the iPhone4 and the way it operates, especially on the iPod?
The same music sounds fine on the iPod, but when played on the iPhone4 the quality is so bad that it hurts my ears.  It's like I'm listening to music between two tin cans attached by sting.
Is there a way around this or is this just simply a problem with the iPhone4?
It's amazing that my tiny iPodnano can produce better sound than the iPhone4 even with the same headphones or earbuds.
    Thanks for any hints...
    Mike

I have not tried it with the phone on, it's always been in the airplane mode when I listen to the music.  So with airplane mode the 3G and Wi-Fi are off.  Not sure what BT is.
Odd thing is that podcasts, tv shows and films all are okay  ... I don't hear any real difference.  It's only with the music.  Know that when I downloaded my music from both the MBP and MBA I used the lower bit rate, but would not think that should make a difference.  Since the iPodnano is loaded at the same bit rate as well.
There are previous posts here in Discussions that seem to show there is a problem with the iPod on the iPhone4.  But, most of those were posted in the last year with nothing recent.  So if it was an iPhone4 firmware issue I thought maybe it had been resolved over time.  Now I'm wondering.
I did just to the latest update this week on the iPhone4, maybe that's what did it?

  • I play my music via an airport express attached to my hi fi system. Since upgrading to maverick the sound quality is very poor. It sounds very flakey with the volume level going up and down. Tried Ethernet and wireless, but no good

I play music on my hi fi via an airport express attached to my iMac.
Since installing maverick the sound quality is terrible and I get frequent distortion, which never happened before.
I have reset the airport express and reconfigure my wireless settings. I have also used Ethernet on its own but still get the same sound problems.
I would love to turn itunes sound off as you used to be able to do, but this I believe can't be done.
Has anyone else been having the same types of problem, and better still has anyone got the answer?

So if I connect my ipad or iPod to an airport express that is being "extended" from the main airport express (the main router which is plug into my audio system), I should still be able to listen to my music, correct?
Yes but be sure to turn on Airplay at whatever Airport connects to the audio.
    Radcolt wrote:
Also, will the date rate be decreased if they are connected by cat 5e Ethernet cable?  I thought signal drop is minimal.
That's a whole different ball game and a much better solution if it's practical to implement.  The data rate will not decrease.

  • Poor sound quality and distortion

Ever since getting my 27" Imac I've notice the sound quality is poor and bass sounds distort quite a bit and it happens with the computer's speaker, headphones, and streamed audio over the network.
Any ideas on what might be causing this? Sound card or itunes?
    Thanks,
    Terry

Sounds like an audio circuit issue on your logic board--especially if it does it using headphones too. That almost eliminated the speakers. I would contact Apple and get it looked at.

  • IPod classic poor sound quality

    Hi,
I have a three year old iPod classic, and have noticed over the last month an issue with the sound. The sound quality is extremely poor and static sounding, like an am radio station whenever I use ANY setting on the equalizer. When the equalizer is set to off, the sound is normal again. This happens both with earphones and a dock with speakers.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Poor Sound Recording in CC2014

    Hi Guys
I'm in the field and taken my Dell Precision M6700 to do a short voice over. I've hooked up a Shure C606 mic to the laptop using XLR-USB lead but the finished recording is very poor. It sounds tinny, like I'm in a tin box with a slight flanger effect. The Win7 sound default is 48k and I've set Au to WASAPI 48k. I tried setting both to 44k (Au, set to 'MME' 44K, but that was worse...) I tried to correct in Au but that just made things worse...
I've tried a couple of practical things, such as wrapping myself and mic in a duvet to deaden the air, but it sounds exactly the same. Anyone any ideas on how I can get a richer, non tinny sound???
    Regards,
    Graham

Ryclark is spot on with his two points.  The C606 is designed for rock singers to scream into on a loud stage so, for the sort of recording you're doing, the level will be very low.
Just to give you a comparison, I sometimes have to do short voice recordings with the C606's big brother, the SM58.  Even with that, and a voice artist projecting well, I have to have the mic less than a foot from the source and my pre amp cranked up almost all the way.  Luckily I can do that without excessive noise.  Even so, I'm getting peaks at around -12dB on the Audition scale.
That brings me to another point though.  I don't want to bore you with techie stuff but the scale on the Audition meters (like every digital device) is in dB(Full Scale).  This means that 0dB on the scale is roughly equivalent to +18dB on a standard analogue meter.  Put another way, my -`12dB(FS) recordings are roughly equivalent to about +6 in the analogue world...which isn't too bad.
Finally, ryclark is spot on again with his description of the monitoring problems.   A proper USB interface would fix this but it depends on your budget...you're looking at around $100 for one worth having.  A mic designed for something other than the rock stage would help as well...but again that's a lot more money than your 606.

  • TS1424 music video choppy poor sound

Just purchased several music videos and the download completed but they're quailty *****... video is choppy, poor or no sound for minutes at a time. HELP!!!

Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • Hi since I put the new update on my ipad. The sound quality on the ipad is very poor and just wondering is there going to be a update to sort it out.thanks

Hi since I put the new update on my ipad. The sound quality on the ipad is gone very poor it's sound very tinny. I just wondering if there is going to be a update to sort it out. Thanks

    Hello Tollykev,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you have some audio issues with your iPad after the iOS 7 update.
I want to recommend the following troubleshooting from the article named:
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved after restoring the iPhone software, please contact Apple Support.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • Setting up sounds on SB Live

    Hi,
I am completely new to using midi and would really appreciate some advice.
I have installed Band in a Box but the played sounds are really poor, each guitar sound is just like a toy keyboard sound. I have gone into Creative HQ on my PC and tried all of the installed sounds and they don?t sound anything like the instruments.
How do I download and install better quality sounds (patches.)?
    Thanks for any help.
    Will

    OK - try this:
Uninstall the sound card in device manager:
Right click "my Computer" > properties > Hardware > Device Manager
    > sound & video game controllers > creative SB li've! series, right click and uninstall
    Then Re-Boot
your system will detect and re-install the card reverb gone
don't know why this works - it just does

  • Poor CS5 Photoshop Performance

I've exghausted a lot of the pre-made resources on getting good performance from CS5 Photoshop, and unfortunately none of them have worked.
A couple of my end users are having the following issue where everything is delayed, and won't register until they click off the tool they are using, and back onto it. So text size won't update in real time.
The machine is a 3.3 Zeon quadcore processor, 8gb of ram, a Nvidia Quadro FX 1800, with a 150gb drive. I am adding a dedicated scratch disc tonight to see if that helps. (OS is Windows 7 x64.)
    I have tried:
Uninstalling, running the uninstall cleanup utility, and re-installing
    Updating the graphics drivers
Fiddling with the memory allocation, etc in CS5
Most of these fixes gave us a temporary fix for ~hour or less, and then Photoshop went back to performing poorly. It sounds like an issue with some resource running out, but I can't seem to pinpoint it.

You aren't the first to report this, and it seems to me an inordinately large number having this sluggishness may be using Quadro FX cards, but that may just be my flawed memory acting up.
You might want to search for "sluggish" or "cursor lag" in this forum to try to get a feel for what you have in common.

  • Fluctuating sound/volume level?

I noticed that when playing music in iTunes the volume level somehow fluctuates. Suddenly the music is noticable louder than before. The problem is, it's not really reproducable (it doesn't happen that often but, erm, often enough to bug me). I don't even know if it's a MacBook error (from all the bad luck I already had with this thing, I just assume it). I'm already trying to test my speakers (Creative) on my iPod - so far nothing.
Is there some way to test if the sound hardware is ok on my MacBook?

Yes, use the installer disk and restart while pressing "D".
is the sound is flucktuated per songs or in one songs?
because some songs that had lower bitrate or poor mixing might sounded lower or louder than normar standard songs.
If that what happen, you can use sound check at the iTunes preference to put all songs at the same level.
Try to reset the PRAM to "refresh" the hardware to factory default, and hope that good enough to fix it, if not, consult with apple store near you.
    Good Luck.

  • No sound on new movies downloaded om Apple TV

Is any body having trouble with new releases with poor or no sound.

Okay. After searching and reading a little more it seems that the fix for the no audio issue was to turn off the dolby setting on the Apple TV menu.
I still however experience issue with video quality when using the Apple Air Play Mirroring. It usually is when watching a video or movie from my PC using the Air Play Mirroring. Not just Netflix but also videos I have on my hard drive. I don't see how it can be an issue with internet speed since I still have issues with it playing videos from my Mac hard drive and I have no issues with video quality on my Mac display but it will look grainy on the TV. If I pause the video it will clear right up and look crisp but upon playing again it quickly goes back to a grainy picture on the TV while remaining clear and crisp on my Mac display.

  • DC7700 can't detect and install sound card after update to Windows 7

I've been trying to get the sound on my HP DC7700 Ultra Slim desktops to work for a few months now (I'm a teacher at a high school, so I have about 100+ of them to take care of). I've upgraded them from XP to Windows 7, and the computers no longer recognize the sound card.
I have tried installing the Realtek driver from their site and HP's, I've tried updating the UAA architecture as suggested in other posts here and here.
In device manager, all hardware has been detected and correct drivers have been installed, including PCI and chipset drivers.
Randomly, ONE DC7700 with a unique hard drive worked. I painstakingly checked every single driver installed and found the two that were different:
"Realtek High Definition Audio" under "Sound, video and game controllers"
"High Definition Audio Controller" under "System devices"
Pictures of the driver details for both are posted below.
I am completely at a loss as to how to accomplish this successfully, and I appreciate any help. Our school is depressingly poor, and without sound videos are completely useless to them.
Thank you in advance for your time,
    Kris Brackebusch

    Hi, Kris:
Try reinstalling W7 on one of them that doesn't have audio.
On that model, W7 should be installing a generic HD audio driver that works and then you can install the Realtek HD audio driver either from the dc7700 support page or the latest one from Realtek.
You do not need the MS UAA Bus driver, because that is only for XP.
UAA is included native to Vista and newer versions of Windows.
I do not recommend you install it in an effort to resolve the issue.
I have worked on dc7600's dc7700's and the newer Elite 8xxx models, which all have the Realtek HD audio chip.
Never had a problem getting the sound to work right from the upgrade.
The HD audio is the driver that Windows installs natively.
The Realtek HD audio driver is from Realtek.
