Poor Overclocking -- Any Help?
I have a 6800U, I have flashed to the [email protected] bios. Are they the best, could you advise me which ones are, and when MSI are going to release new ones.
Now I can't overclock the card any further than 460/1170, this is dissapointing, I have watercooling and the load temps are at 52C.
I get 24,000 3DMark01 points - this is abysmal.
Help me out please.

Hit a wall with overclock/ any help?
I overclocked my 865gm2-ls motherboard and have run into a wall at 220mhz fsb. I have an nvidia 5500fx, a 2.8ghz northwood, 2 sticks of 512mb viking 3200 ddr400, and a 3rd generation stock heat sink/fan. I am running the older bios version 5.1 (it killed sata but gave me access to overclocking the cpu). Once I go beyond 220 the system will work for a while and then suddenly reboot. At 220 it runs great. Heat doesn't appear to be the issue. Is this a limitation of the board or is there some other tweak?
Any help is appreciated.

I finally have some ddr 550 to test this system. (I am building a new one) I set the fsb to 230 and let prime95 run torture test, set to 10, for around an hour. (didn't have more time) Stable so far. Good call Stu!

I made a slide of multiple pics and objects, I am trying to export it to an 8x10 photo, the shop I am using only allows jpeg. The quality is so poor when I print it, is there a way to get better quality as I export it? I used keynote because I could set up a custom slide size (8x10) and then added the pics and other graphics in hope I could export as a jpeg and get a good quality photo? The photo images and slides are good quality it is the exporting where I am loosing clarity.

I've had this 13 Inch Macbook Pro complete with the Lion since October 2011. I've been having trouble with the internet connection. I keep getting 'unable to connect to the internet' or 'website unavaiable'. We have a brand new router, so we know for certain the router isn't going out. Both of my parents computers connect just fine without getting kicked out. I thought maybe it was the seat, so I switched chairs and rooms and positions, but that doesn't seem to help. I check my internet connection and always says 'connected' with full bars. I've tried different browswers, using Safari and Google Chrome. It's frustrating not being able to get online and get kicked off in the middle of whatever you're doing for a reason you can't figure out. Any help/suggestions? It's been going on for a month or so now.
After biting the bullet and ordering more RAM, my computer now is working a ton better. So that must have been the main issue. With 8 GB RAM, I can now even run Parallels fluidly (better than my work PC!) where before simple things like logging in to my MBP after reboot could take forever.
The place I went to had several other people getting RAM upgrades at the same time as me, so between this and other comments I've seen in discussions here and elsewhere on the Internets, I take it to mean that either Apple should bump up the base RAM on its new machines, and/or stop charging so much for additional RAM.
I refused to believe a Pro machine bought with Lion installed would come with too little RAM for light to medium usage, but it was apparently the case. I'll mark this as a correct answer and hope some other poor soul will come across this thread and be helped by it. -

I turn my i mac on and when it has loaded onto the home screen I get a message popping up saying my protection engine has corrupted and that i should try reinstalling live update and my computer will no longer be protected until I do so. Would anyone be able to tell me what live update is and how I would run/reinstall it? - be grateful for any help!!!

Edit: To see whether you actually have Norton installed launch Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. If it's installed you'll likely see some Norton entries there.

I want to purchase a powerbook that will run a music program like MOTU or Pro Tools as well as run Final Cut Pro without being sluggish...any help?
The only way that would work out is if you ran exactly the versions that were made for old PowerBooks. Anything newer may require Intel and not run, or will strain the poor old G4 CPU.
Your needs have to be modest, too, because the problem with older music and video software is that they are not current as far as formats and codecs for the Web. If you want to output H.264, the current standard for YouTube/Flash video, older software may not support it, and in addition, H.264 is processor-intensive and is tailor-made for today's multi-core, 2+ GHz processors. It will overwhelm a G4. A PowerBook G4 can barely play YouTube videos.
More perspective: The PowerBooks worked great for miniDV format editing. In other words, 480i SD/standard definition video in use from the late 1990s to the late 2000s. If that is all you want to do, edit tape from an old miniDV camera to SD output, then OK.
But if you want to edit today's HD video, whether 720p from a snapshot camera/iPhone 4 or 1080p from a DSLR, the PowerBook and the software for it will either not recognize AVCHD/H.264, or it will slow the PowerBook to a dead crawl.
I'm in agreement with the above: Intel Macs have been out for so many years that getting a used one is a much better deal than a dead-end PowerBook. And I loved (still love) my PowerBooks. -

It would be more helpful to understand your workflow and what type files you have made.
Are you using audio from both cameras? Do the changes/problems correspond with the camera switch?
Try this with a minute of the problem footage
Export a QT reference file(export QT(not QT conversion)-uncheck make self-contained in the lower left)
(a reference file is like a band-aid- do not use more than once). Listen to it in QT- how does it sound?
If you have a mix/audio problem here it is most likely related to what you are exporting from FC.
If it sounds good:
Create an AC3 and MPG2 of your minute test
Create a DVD with a track of your 1 minute test.
Build the dvd to a folder on your desktop.
Open the Video_TS(from the build folder) in the Mac DVD player App. Whatever you see and hear in the app is exactly what will end up on the burned disc. This is the best way to QC the DVD before you burn it. -
recently my phone updated to ios 7, it wont let me sign into my iphone app store to download apps,i click on an app i want and it just clicks but doesn't start to download, i can see thats its not signed in so i tried to re set up my account under the app store in settings , but its just a grey area and wont let me click to input any information. this happened right after i updated my phone, any help?

so everytime i try and link my apple id to my macbook (mid 07) it doesnt work and i get the yellow triangle. i recently reset my mac as i forgot my password. in the process i made another user to reset my password. doing this i went through the complete start up of a macbook (from when you buy from new). i dont know if this has anything to do with this problem. but i have now deleted that user.
any help is much appriciated.For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

A movie I bought a while ago will no longer play, instead it just shows a black screen and no audio. All of the other movies in my library play fine. Any ideas as to whats going on or how to fix it? Thanks for any help.

I have nook for mac loaded on my macbook pro. When I try to open a book or magazine nothing happens. I`ve downloaded the nook program twice thinking it was a bad download but to no avail. Any help?
I found the following suggested fix, posted by a user on Barnes & Noble's site:
1. Create a folder in your Applications folder, call it: NOOKforMac
Once you've done this, copy the Nook app to this folder. This should allow the app to run on the 1st or possibly second attempt to launch it.
2. Once you're done using the app always quit it by clicking on the X (red in some cases) button of the application window (upper left hand corner)
This seems to have resolved the issue and my guess is that somehow the .dmg volume path is somewhere hard coded in the app configuration.
Elsewhere in that thread, the administrator advises calling Customer Service Team at 1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665) and choose option 2 for Digital Support.

Did a clean install 10.9.4. on a Apple Stock 1TB Fusion Hard Drive. When I run "diskutil list" via Terminal, everything is wrong. I have "EFI" and "apple Boot Boot OSX" in every dev/disk** Everything is out of place, How can I repair? Im willing too reformat if need be, however thats what I did in the first place. I damaged my iphone 5s and want to get my photos back. It was submerged in water for a good five minutes (and is now in rice) but I'm pretty sure it's dead.
I really would like to get my photos back. I wasn't plugging in my iphone and backing up, I just assumed it did it automatically because about a week ago I had a message saying automatic backups were stopping as my icloud was full.
My work ipad is running on ios8 (as of a few days ago!) but my iphone was on ios7 as I didnt have enough space to install the update. This means that my icloud is now icloud drive and I cannot view the stuff from my ios7 device without upgrading it to ios8. Trouble is, I cant upgrade it because it's in a rice bowl.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Any idea if I will be able to access my photos on icloud at all? I'm not very hopeful for my phone working again and downloading things that way!
Thanks!Photos that are in the cloud stay there until they are removed by a device that has the right privileges. If your iPad is logged in with the same AppleID, then doesn't it show the photos from iCloud?
You will only be on iCloud Drive if you expressly chose to upgrade. -

I had a 640GB HDD in my Early 2008 Macbook and it was just too much it would always freeze up the computer a bit for only a few seconds but ya. Then I realized that it was the size of the HDD that was causing it since the Early 2008 Macbook models can only handle a MAX od 500GB while the Early 2008 Macbook Pros could have a MAX of 640GB (Lucked out there!) lol But ya the Early 2008 Mocbooks can only handle a MAX HDD size of 500GB and that's it!! lol
