Poor Quality after Capturing the 1080i Source

I use the camera that the model is Sony HDR-HC3.
When i capture the 1080i source recorded by above model,
the source in Final Cut Express HD is very poor.
The image will break in several shadow when the shot is presenting
movement, as like pan left/right, tilt up/down etc.
When I export the movie used the H.264, it's much more poor.
What's wrong is happened?
Thank you for reply.
p.s.May i post the screen picture that Final Cut Express HD presenting
after capture?

Melfice,
I had the same problem. I tried different FW & HD settings and still got poor quality. Then I tried an HD tape and got the same results. So, I took my Sony back and traded for Canon's new HD (HV10), and found the quality to be MUCH better. I don't know why and would rely on someone with bigger brains for that answer.

  • Capture the lov source id in adavanced table bean

    Dear Frends,
I am developing one custom OAF page. I have one adavanced table in that. 2 lov are there in advanced table.

    pageContext.writeDiagnostics("In Process Form Request","Actual Lov Input source id:"+lovInputSourceId,1);

  • Text poor quality after Export

I'm having some pretty poor quality text rendering after export. The video appears fine otherewise. I am exporting to YouTubeSD not HD, though I wouldn't think that would matter. [?]
I'm pretty new to the complexities of film editing. So, I can't answer much about the video source files other than that they are MP4 converted originally from analog files written to DVD. I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with the titles at all since all text created thru PP Title Editor. [?]
Here's a screenshot of settings. Any ideas?

Sorry- I meant to add this is CS5.5
Jeff- I've been using this same font for other projects without problem. This just started happening on this project. Yes, it is a serif font but no problems before. It's always rendered well [Adobe Arabic].
Message was edited by: zech3  APOLOGIES-  when I searched this issue, I didn't see my exact problem and the post below [ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/705407?tstart=0 ] just got resurrected from 2010, it didn't appear in my search... though I'm not sure our issue is identical...
    Here's a better screenshoht:
And some screen shots of titles:
BEFORE text rendering problem. From a project last year, this typeface is skinnier but rendered much better!
AFTER text rendering problem started. This is the current typeface that, even though a heavier typeface, renders horribly!!
I should add that the titles seem to flicker a bit when transitions are applied to the start or end of title clip.

  • Poor quality after compressor

I shot footage using the Panasonic AG-HMC150 (AVCHD)
I transfered them into FCP using Apple ProRes 422
My first attempt was exporting using compressor (large quicktime file, roughly 160 GB of quicktime footage) and after selecting the DVD:Best Quality 150 minutes (for 130 min project) the video quality was very poor.
I have tried troubleshooting with smaller files, but can't find any solutions.

Well regular DVDs are going to be SD MPEG2 no matter what the source-- they're all the same codec. That said, not all MPEG2 encoders are created equal: Hollywood pictures are often done with this:

But short of buying that, this is a good place to start:

  • Unable to capture the Data Source into a Transport Request

    Hi All,
We have a product hierarchy and we are using the data source :4R_PRODH_D_LGEN_HIER for the hierarchy.
Now we need to transport this structure to the quality environment but we were not able to capture the datasource:4R_PRODH_D_LGEN_HIER into a transport request.
When ever we activate the data source:4R_PRODH_D_LGEN_HIER it is asking for the Package and the Transport Request Number. If we give these details and save it, data source is not getting captured in the request, only the "bject Directory Entry" is getting captured.
Can someone please guide me on how to capture the datasource under "Data Sources in BW" in a transport request.
    Regards,
    Sachin Dehey.

    Hi Sachin,
Hierarachy datasource is not captured as Attributes and Text Datasource. So what ever you have done is correct.
What ever is captured in Object Directory Entry is correct. So go ahead with your transports, once transport is done check the Hierarchy Infopackage with Available OLTP hierarchies and load the data.
Most important thing first see that the all Master & Transactional Datasources are transported in R/3 Dev to QA to PRD
In BW, datasources are not transported, only their replica is transported.
Transportation of Datasource is done in R/3. Only their replica is transported in BW.
So wht ever you have done till now is correct. So go ahead.
While attaching Hierarchy Datasource it is captured only in "Object Directory Entry"
    Regards,
    Vishnu.

  • Poor Quality After Render

Hello. I have been having some problems with Premiere Pro CC after the 7.2 update.
A new one has arisen when i render a video. Normally the quality would improve and i can see it in the preview window. But now after i render a video the quality is so bad and there are sort of screen tears in the video. I know its not my graphics card so can someone help me please i just keep having issues.
    Thanks
    GTX 780
    16 GB RAM
    I7 PROCESSOR
    WINDOWS 8.1 UPDATE 1

    they do .. a lot... thanks ..
dont forget I dont have your version .. I have cs6 on pc.
dv codec is SD ( ntsc 720x480 .. pal is something else ) and is 30 fps ( 2997).. you got source hd 60fps and your preview settings dont match stuff. .. so the first thing you wanna do is MAKE SURE of your source material ( what it is exactly .. video and audio )... then you make a sequence that matches those settings exactly... ( you probably know that already ).
Now, when rendering for preview you wanna be as UNobtrusive as possible to the orignal source material ( so you see it rendered without compromising the actual source material by changing frame rate or dimensions in px size )..... I would not use avi dv codec for HD material source.
Assuming your source material is what your sequence settings ARE ( they match ).. then I would not use AVI DV codec ( which is SD not HD ) for that.  Now I gotta turn on pig computer to see what options might be better for you ..and that will depend in part on how powerful your computer is.. if it can handle certain stuff..  Jim and those guys here probably have their editing on same computer as their internet and can help you really fast... but he was right in the beginning ( I have no clue how he knew this.. ).. when Jim said it was mismatch with DV .. thanks for posting those images cause now I can actually see pretty well what you have going on.

  • Poor quality after exporting

    Hi,
I'm quite new to Premiere Pro and am having problems with the quality of my movie after exporting it. It looks fine within Premiere Pro but once exported it's very shaky and it comes up with red flashes in random places.
When I export the movie, I go to 'Export to Encore' then 'Burn without menus' and select NSTC high quality.
The only thing I can think of is the original source files I am using. My camera only downloads as MOD files which I then convert to MPEG2 files.
I need to screen the video to around a 100 work colleagues at a function on Saturday so any help or suggestions would be most appreciated!!

    > The only thing I can think of is the original source files I am using. My camera only downloads as MOD files which I then convert to MPEG2 files.
Correct. Reshoot with a different camera or use different software, like WMM or PE, or anything that is consumer grade software.

  • Poor quality after timeline rendering of after effects dynamic link comp.

One of my typical workflows involves dynamic linking AE comps into Premiere- Often I can playback the timeline in Premiere without rendering and achieve great results with no dropped frames. This scenario is ideal since I need to play out sequences in premiere passing them through a Matrox  MXO2 LE box to capture them on another system. However, I have noticed recently that if I need to render the Premiere sequences before playback because the dynamically linked AE comps are more complicated, I lose quite a bit of quality after rendering.I've searched around and read about different quality settings in both AE and PP and I can't seem to find any settings that affect this process. Pause and playback quality are both set to full, tried checking rendered maximum depth/quality in the sequence settings and I still can't get this right. I am perplexed since I would think that results would be better post-render.
    Dynamic Linked Clip Unrendered
    Dynamic Linked Clip Rendered:
    -A note about my settings:
    AE comps:
    720x480 (containing downscaled HD video)
    PAR: D1/DV NTSC (.91)
    29.97fps
Resolution full 720x480 1.3 MB per 8bpc frame
    PP Sequences:
    720x480 (.9091)
    29.97p
    WINDOWS 7 - Adobe CC
    Intel Xeon(R)  12 cores 2.40ghz
    Nvidia Quadro 4000
    12g RAM

The video preview settings were set to DV NTSC. I'm not sure why I didn't think to look at those settings. I went ahead and downloaded the Ut Video Codec Suite and things are now looking great - just like they do when I do not render the sequences. I am noticing now that my HD sequences usually are setup to use Matrox's Mpeg2 I frames only codec.
Is the lossless codec choice always the best/most efficent choice to be used for the preview codec? I assume if I was not dynamic linking I should match this codec with the codec of the files in my sequence, is this correct?

  • Poor quality after days of rendering (AE CS5)

I bought an AE project file (VideoHive.net) and the first time I tied to use it things worked fine, although it took most of a day (9 hours) to render a 2 minute project. Then I made some changes (substituting pictures in the sample) and attempted to export it again. At high quality 1080 AVI, it took 52 hours and the result was a jittery poor quality mess. So then I rendered the project again at 720 as an MP4 and it only took 37 hours, but this time it was even worse and even more unusable.Same machien, same memory assignment, same project file.
I don't know if I was supposed to render in RAM first (I may hve done that before the first rander just to see what it looked like) or what combination of settings I should be using or if I should be sending it directly to Premiere (although I can't seem to make that work).  I think my first attempt was an MOV which I imported into Pr with no problem and it only took 9 hours to render. Same machine, same project.  This should be an adequate machine (6 core, 16 GB) with 80% memory assigned to CS5. I've spent hours on Lynda.com watching all the AE courses but they don't seem to include the minor details and steps. They assume the viewer can figure that out, I guess.
What is the correct process to follow (RAM first?), what render file should I be using and how long should it take for a (less than) 2 minute finished AE project?

    TimeRemapper,
    Here's the project: http://videohive.net/item/photo-album/94595
I have it running on 5 of the 6 processors using 13 GB of the RAM.
Rendering to local SATA drive, same as the source files.
I have no problem with the 9 hours, but I do have a problem with 3 days and
a jumpy mess as the result.
The images I switched out are mostly smaller than the ones in the sampler
and about the same as the scanned pictures I used in my trial run.
Should I try to export to my Premiere project or export to a file to bring
back into Pr? (added to video interview). If I export it, it needs to be 720
for standard DVD - What is the best format and settings for that? AVI? MOV?
MP4? Obviously what I selected was outside of what the machine could
    adequately generate.

  • Microsoft DV AVI Pal Preset Poor quality after re-encoding

    Hi!
I have Dv Avi Pal video on timeline.
And I have noticed that If I export it to DV avi Pal it loses quality - red T-Shirt becomes more red.
But If I import that exported video and export it once again - it becomes more red.
Is it Mainconcept DV codec bug or what?
    Thank You!

DV, 1 TB of source material is around 80 hours. You can export from the same source material using AME to any format you choose without more than 1 gereneration loss.  So what is your problem?
Here is one example of exporting from the same source to 7 different export formats in one queue without further generation loss:
No need to intentionally create extra generation losses and no additional storage capacity required.
And exporting 4 hours - about 4 hours.
If your system takes around 4 hours to export a simple  4 hour DV timeline, that simply means it is time to get a faster system. Exporting a 3 hour single track DV timeline to DV takes around 21 seconds on my system in the best case, meaning no effects at all. With many effects and multiple tracks 3 hours takes less than 3 minutes.

  • Poor quality after import, frames misordered after import

I am creating some training videos user a a video screen capture software and then combining them on Premiere Pro. After I added the video, the video seemed to wobble back and forth between frames in that are current and frames that have passed already. So as the mouse pointer changes icon as it hovers over it different stuff it will go back and forth fro, frame to frame between it previous form and position to it's new form and position and as the website updates on the video it will wobble back and from from frame to frame to what it is loading and what it was. I thought maybe that was just real time rendering but when I exported the video it didn't solve the problem. I look back at the original video so smooth and flawless and wonder if I am doing something wrong.

The problem with most screen captures is often the codec used in the capture.  Seems no one really makes a "video friendly" screen capture program (meaning the codec used is a standard camera format).  That's probably because most computer screens aren't set at the required video dimensions to do a proper video-friendly screen capture.
Anyway, what did you use to capture the footage?  What codec was used for the footage?

  • Poor quality after previewing in iDVD

I created a movie in imovie '09 with video and still images.  Movie plays well and looks good when previewed in imovie.  I shared to media browser and opened the movie in idvd.  All of my chapters came up great and everything looked good until I previewed the movie... horrible quality!  Both the still images and video look very pixelated, like they are "shimmering".  I've had this happen with other movies I've created using imovie to idvd before but don't know what causes this.  I have not even burned the movie yet because of how bad the preview quality is.  And I know from past experience that it will look like this when I play it on the tv too.  Does anyone know what is causing this and why it only happens with some movies and not others?  I have not changed the way I've done anything when going from imovie to idvd with any of these movies.  Some come out fine, some come out like this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi
Quality on the resulting DVD has many steps.
    a. Preview in iDVD are not same as resulting DVD - I do Save as a DiskImage and test this with DVD-tool first - this will show quality (slightly) better.
    b. DVD is a standard in it self and can never be better than SD-video (as on old time CRT-TVs) - no matter what program is used eg DVD-Studio Pro or Roxio Toast™ - There are no HD-Video for DVD (more than academic ones - Toshiba and some years ago - no success)
    c. Choice of Video-editing tool - makes a difference as
    • iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - discards every second line resulting in a loss of sharpness
    • iMovie up to HD6 or FinalCut any version - does deliver full quality over to iDVD
    d. How movie is sent to iDVD
    • I do NOT use "Share to iDVD" in any version of iMovie as I get a worse result by doing so - I do in
iM'08 to 11 -     Share to Media Browser and as Large - and in
iMovie up to HD6 -     just close it and import the movie project from within iDVD
FCE/P - Export out as QuicTime.mov and NO QuickTime Conversion - then I use this file in iDVD.
    e. Choice of encoding method in iDVD
    • I use Pro Quality encoding
    f. Choice of DVD brand and type
    I only use Verbatim DVD-R
    g. Burn speed
I set it down to x4
    h. Free space on Start-up hard disk
I never go under 25Gb - iDVD and Mac OS needs this and can not use it on other hard disks.

  • Very Poor Quality after Importing from Time Machine

I lost iMovies for some reason when I upgraded to Maverick.  I imported my iMovie events from Time Machine into iMovie 10 but the quality is now horrible. Anyone know how to correct this?  DO I have to import a differnet way?
    Gratefully yours, Daniel

I'm not quite clear exactly how you imported - if your events were from iMovie 9 the correct procdure would be first to recover your iMovie Events and iMovie Projects folder from Time Machine.
You would then check that they open OK in iMovie 9 (which you should still have available in your Applications folder).
When this OK you can close iMovie 9, open iMovie 10 and update your media into iMovie 10.
    See help at: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0/#mov902ad0c31
If you have already done this,  have you allowed time for iMovie 10 to re-render your clips in the background?  (can take a long time).  The quality immediately after importing may well be poor at first.
    Geoff.

  • Poor Quality After Importing Video

Has anyone noticed that the quality is poor after importing a DV file to iMovie?  If so, is there any way to fix this or avoid the problem altogether

I think it may depend on the video camera.  Some video cameras have this happen when used with iMovie. When I import video from my JVC Everio directly into iMovie '11, the video comes in very out of focus.  I have to use the steps outlined on this page to get the video into iMovie '11 properly.
