suffering with Poor quality Skype Video Calls and also voice.
My connection is 8 mb Download and .6mp upload, my wife in another country has Fiber so is alot faster again.
I am using Windows 8.1 and also a Ipad Air, same issues on both.
The Windows Pc has a nice microsoft Hd webcam (not one of the cheapones) using a i7 pc with 16g of Ram and a Gaming Graphics Card.
There is very little software on the pc, a couple of games, no itunes, Downloading software and very little running in the background. I use Window Defender and Anti virus and have recently done a re instal of windows and everything is updated driver and software wise, including skype.
The Ipad is the Apple air.
When connecting to my Wife in the Uk the reception isnt great picture wise and after a little while gets bad and also disconects alot and then comes back with a worse picture and call quality. I have even had the bad connection pop up. I have ran speed tests at these points and all are showing fine.
I also have a issue when calling my Dads land line in the uk where he has trouble hearing what im saying, muffled and echos
I am a premium paying customer and started to get a bit frustrated.

@Furgan, in which country are you located? Some countries and ISP-s are shaping Skype traffic. One known country is Saudi Arabia for example.
If would help us if you could please reproduce the issue and provide logs as described in this link https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12321/how-do-i-create-log-files under Skype for Windows Desktop and attach it to your post?

Logitech C920 and Skype Video Calls

So, the Logitech C920 I have worked before with Skype video calls with no problems. But after this new update, it doesn't detect the web cam anymore. I've googled, searched this forum, searched reddit and every possible form of help to only still not detect the web cam.
I've used 6.22, 6.18, and right now I'm on 6.14 and it still won't be detected. I've tried every USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 port I have on my rig.
Now before someone tells me it's the web cam that's broken, the web cam works on Logitech's program, it works on twitch, it works on Microsoft's program as well. All drivers are up-to-date as well.
Completely frustrated with this problem and I was wondering if posting it would be of any help.
I am on Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit as well.

Im having a similar issue. Logitech c920 no picture in SKYPE. Other apps are OK and SKYPE titles my webcam but it just a blank screen with spinning wheel in setting. Sound is OK.
Im running Windows 7 64bit. I have uninstalled SKYPE and updated the drivers ( AMD Catalyst to 14.2 and also tested beta 15.4 ) with no change.
Any help would be appreciated

I know skype cant do much about it. but firstly I'd like to suggest everyone post up all information you can regarding the pursuer so that everyone else can go on skype look them up and block/report them. Their accounts are usually fairly obvious once you have become a victim.
FIRST PROTECT YOURSELF!
DO NOT SEND MONEY. DO NOT SUPPORT THEIR THREATS. THIS WILL PROMOTE THEM TO CONTINUE.
Delete/block all connections you have with the pursuer. Be it any/All social networks with linked names or information you have posted up publicly. Secondly if you cannot delete these accounts/deacctivate it, change you private settings.
CEASE ALL COMMUNICATION with them as soon as you have done this.
They also recycle photos with different names.

I just had nora.cante76 or something similar trying to add me to skype with the message: "Hi it's me again. Add me!!!!" I blocked the account straightaway.

I did a google and facebook search on him and wasn't able to find his account (probably been shut down) but I was able to find a trace link to a facebook like of photos of a football match or something called Zona Clandestine in El Jadida, Morroco which was one of the places he wanted money to be sent to. He is also associated with Khouribga, Morroco. Very likely this is where he lives.
A google search of Marwan Dissoza brings up his account on Facebook basic though it isn't actually there when you click on it suggesting his account was deactivated. Most likely by Facebook.
Other aliases are Anime Idris Kamel and Mouab Khabsi. Most likely one times uses.
Marwan Dissoza does seem to be closer to his real name as I also found his details on some sort of dating site: http://www.meetme.com/member/77885488
He also appears to have a google+ account.
Judging by his name he's a spanish Morrocan. He appears to have good english and IT savvy though he's not that good as he wasn't able to entirely erase his digital footprint.
Nonetheless this guy is scum of the lowest order and any of his nora cante aliases is to be avoided at all costs.
My incident started on Chat roulette. I have since stopped using it. My advice to anyone using Chat roulette is to avoid it at all costs. If you feel comfortable using then do not give out your email under any circumstances. If the so-called girl or boy you're chatting says they can't find your skype name its a trap. Just move on. I was so close to clicking 'next' and boy do I wish I had! The fake cam seems so convincing. It never occurred to me that someone could record your skype video call and use that against you.
I sincerely hope no one else falls victim to this disgusting filth. I think we need to push Skype hard to put out a message to all users on their site to steer clear of all accounts named nora cante.

After I updated my iphone 4S to 7.1.1, there is always problem with Facetime and Skype. Wifi just drops for no reason. I have tried everything, resetting the phone and freezing for 10 min, but nothing helped. Hope Apple will fix this bug soon.

New iPad 4G internet access lost during Skype video calls, also to all apps...

i have the New (3rd generation) iPad 4G 32 Gb and i noticed that i totally lost internet connection during Skype video calls. The wifi signal is full but loosing the internet connection. Trying other apps like safari after the failure i don't have also internet access. After turninmg off & on afain wifi from iPad's settings everything returns to normal state.
No other wifi problems when not using Skype for iPad, no problems with Facetime or any other application, no problem with any other device, i also have an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 3GS without any connection or internet problems.
Any idea? Is it a Skype problem, or iPad's know wifi problem?

When I try to answer a skype video call from someone, the call is ended before I can get it! As soon as I click on the phone icon or the camera icon, it ends the call. This only happens from one contact.

When I try to answer a skype video call on my Ipad (2nd generation), as soon as I click on the phone or video icon the call is ended. This only happens with one of my contacts. I can video call them without any problem! But not in reverse. Any suggestions???

Skype video call - overheating iPhone 4s?

Does anybody notice that when you use Skype video call (wi-fi connection), iPhone 4S is overheating. It became extremely hot after few minutes of video call.

The data volume that one user is sending is obviously also applying as data volume for the receiving user. If you want to be really exact you should check if you volume rate only includes downstream or also upstream volume.

I already have this msi windpad enjoy 7. you will need to uninstall the update of adobe flash player 11 to 10.2 in order to view videos. Simply go to settings,; applications; manage applications; choose adobe flash player 11.; uninstall. it will revert bak to 10.2. don't forget to restart your tablet after the uninstall. As for skype video call, There is a problem with the skype application software so you cannot make a video call. There is a missing plug-in with the skpe video call and i'm still working on it.

But we all know the recent huge celebrity photo leak back in September 1. Photos that should have been secure in the icloud were leaked. Even those that have been deleted long ago. And Apple says they are concerned with our privacy too. Now my question is how secure is skype to skype video calls? (assuming that we use computers/tablets that have only safe programs installed and that the other party is trustworthy) Do Internet Sevice Providers have access to the videos? Are the videos even stored anywhere even temporarily or are they just played livestream never to be seen by anyone again? If we choose to delete our IM's, are they really permanently deleted? Can ill-intentioned skype/ISP employees get access to our videos? Skype says they are using encryption and I am no expert on that field but I do know it's not 100% secure. Some of these questions have been answered in the blog post above but that do they still apply in 2014? Answers would be very much appreciated!

Windows 7 Crashes during Skype video call.

Hello, my Late 2008 Macbook pro running Windows 7 Bootcamp freezes during a video call with Skype. (Version 7.5)
It's a Intel Dou Core that runs at 2.40GHz.
The graphic card is a Nvidia GeForce with (And I know pathetic) only 256mb Video ram.
So pretty much what I think is the problem is that when not doing a video call, the CPU sits at 10% or lower. But whenever me or someone turns on the webcam the CPU sky rockets straight to 100% and within 10 to 15 minutes my computer will crash entirely no blue screen nothing. Just freezes and gives me a loud buzz noise. My only option is to turn off the Macbook pro and restart it.
I been experience this ever since I got this Late 2008 Macbook pro, everything is updated. Including driver updates. All Windows updates are downloaded (Even the optional ones) I even reinstalled Windows 7 to see if a fresh install would fix the problem. I tried downgrading as well. But no matter what I do the computer instantly hits 100% CPU and crashes very soon after. I've ran as administrator and still the same problem. I even took it a step further lowering all graphics, switch to classic windows mode. And made sure to turn off everything running that is useless in the background. Including programs to the point that Skype is the only thing running. and it still crashes as soon as it hits 100% CPU. and stays that way for 10 to 15 minutes while in a video call.
After many tries to trying to diagnose this problem. I've decided to ask here on how to repair this issue. This macbook pro runs fantastic and there is nothing wrong with it. the Webcam is also fine.
Hope someone here has an answer for me as soon as possible.

Anyone you make a video call with can see your IP address. However, this doesn't necessary mean that this person can break into your computer.
