Poor signal in areas that should be full coverage

I have had Verizon for about a year or so now. For the most part the service has been solid, and recently there have been some improvements in coverage on less traveled roads.
However, I am running into a problem with getting a consistent 3G signal on my iPhone 4S. One trouble spot is in Aurora, IN. The coverage should be excellent. Once I set foot in a building, my phone almost immediately goes to 1x coverage. I had this occur in Loogootee yesterday as well. I have not had a problem that I can recall, but yesterday getting a usable signal was problematic.
I am also finding while driving, that areas that are normally covered by 3G are coming up 1x.
Is there a system upgrade or something in progress in southern Indiana? I rely on my phone for voice and tethering, so having high speed is very important. I am not eligible for the new trade in plan, so I can't test out the 4G signal to compare.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, many (but not all) print drivers have an issue with V4 output profiles under Mac OS X 10.6.x. The solution is to use only V2 profiles (or hope that either ColorSync or the print drivers get updated to fix the issue). It's a ColorSync/print driver issue (mainly ColorSync getting in the way). So use V2 profiles to avoid the issue...

My verizon I- phone 5S has poor to no Verison signal at my house. I can get 3 bars extended, but it will intermittently grab a verizon tower, give me one bar, then i can't make any calls (No cellular Functionality). What can verizon do to fix the poor signal? The are two cell towers in the area and not a single verizon antennae with in 20 miles..

It amazes me that with the growth of population in the area, they haven't installed any new towers.
Quite often that is not necessarily the fault of Verizon, but the fault of  people belonging to the "Not In My Back Yard"(nimby) mentality who petition local city governments to withhold permits Verizon needs in order to erect these new towers. They don't want the eyesore getting in the way of enjoying their view.

There no lenses listed in the profile selection area. How do I fix this I use canon gear that should be there. Help!

There are different profiles for camera Raw, and for camera JPG - and LR filters the lenses list, to show only the profiles available for the particular image you have highlighted.
If you have selected a JPG image, you will usually see a much shorter or even an empty list of lenses - as compared with what you see if you select a Raw image. Most lens profiles with interchangeable-lens systems, are designed to correct Raw images. On the other hand, if you select an image taken with (say) a compact digital camera or supported cameraphone, any support for that will usually be in JPG.
You can get a free Lens downloader utility from the Adobe Labs website, which gives access to the full library of lens profiles that the general Adobe user community has uploaded. Each one listed, says whether it is for Raw or not. Some of these will have been generated by end users (using another free utility) and are of variable quality. But you may get lucky, and find just what you need. Or, if it is a rarer lens or if you have particular requirements, it is not so hard to make your own profile using the Adobe utility.
You do not need to use a profile made specifically for your camera model. The only limitation is: a crop-sensor-generated profile, will not include the right optical coverage for a fullframe camera model.
Another option is to "kludge" a copy of an existing Raw-only profile, so that it supports JPG instead. This just requires a text editor - you change a line within a structured-text file, from Camera Raw="True", to "False". Then you save that into the Lens Profile folder in the Adobe / CameraRaw area inside your user login's "application data" area.

On your iPad - go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Load Remote Images>On. Try that first.
You can also try a reset. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the mail and all other apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

There may be nothing wrong with the phone.   If the signal in your location is weak then the fault lies with the providers of that signal.   Perhaps an alternate provider would help, even if the service costs more.  Ultimately, in most countries it is the government that encourages the improvement of infrastructure.

  • Samsung s6/s6 edge poor signal

    Hi,
Is anyone else getting poor signal strength from their s6 or edge? I have an s6 edge and whereas my old nexus 5 used to get full 4g signal at home my new phone gets 1 or 2 bars. Download speeds are not fantastic considering I am on a 4gee contract now. Is anyone else experiencing this or do I have a dud phone? I went into store to ask but they dismissed me saying I should have a software update soon that may fix it.
    Thanks

Yes- extremely poor signal. Phone only ever displays one or zero bars of signal; I'm based between home and uni just outside London; so signal should be very good. I've had the phone for about a month now and experiencing problems with dropped calls, failed texts and issues connecting to WiFi on AC and N bands (the latests and most secure signal bands). I think it might be a problem with the antenna but everyone I've spoken to at EE have been very unhelpful. Fortunately, Samsung offers a 24 month warranty, so it might be worth going to them to get the phone repaired or replaced?

  • "Poor Signal", "Coverage hole pre alarm for client" after changing from Autonomous to Lightweight infrastruture

    Dears,
I use to have wireless infrastructure based on autonomous APs 1142n, auth w/ 802.1x and everything was fine.
My Company decided to implement WLC 5508, and I changed only 2nd floor (2 APs) as lightweight and implement WLC over there as pilot testing...
Now All persons here (around 35 clients) are complaining about disconnections, poor signal...
Both APs are distant each other maximim of 15 meters... Our office has a medium open spaced room, with (20 X 15 meters) only 2 "Pilaster" in the middle of the room.
I am facing this message at WLC logs

    Thanks in advance!!!

Actually I am using both APs as lightweight in 2nd floor.
How about this power level? where I can find those parameters ?
At 3rd floor all APs are autonomous, I accessed one of them and find this parameter
    CCK Transmitter Power (dBm):           Max

is that the parameter you talked about ?

  • WRT610N...very poor signal

I recently purchased a WRT610N to replace my WRT160N because my new 2.4ghz baby monitor took down the wireless internet on the WRT160N. On Linksys' recommendation I also bought a 5ghz wireless adapter for my new Dell laptop, a WEC600N (previously I was using the internal 2.4ghz wireless on it which has now been disabled). I am finding that the WRT610N is giving me very, very poor signal when I'm only two rooms away from it. I have unplugged all of my cordless phones and that does not improve the signal so I do not think they are conflicting. Nothing else is wireless in my house (except the baby monitor which operates on 2.4ghz) so nothing should be conflicting. I have talked with Linksys support twice online and they had me change some settings in the advanced wireless tab but that did not help. Anyone have any ideas? This is very annoying and I hope to get it fixed soon. I can get two bars of signal (and that's about the best I can get) if I'm one floor down but if I'm on the same floor as the router and just two bedrooms away I get such a poor signal I can't even connect. Thanks!

Access setup page of router ......
Click wireless >> Click on Advanced Wireless
settings>>Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation
Threshold to 2304 Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"

  • Poor signal on 3gs after iso 5

why poor signal on my iphone 3gs after iSO 5 update?

    Same here:
The update of the iPhone 3Gs if awful. Updates should never break things that work. After updating my iPhone, WiFi and Bluetooth sensitivity are down. I cannot connect to the WiFi in my house at 12 ft. Bluetooth loses connectivity at just over 2 ft ( from my ear to my pocket), come on now, all this worked well before the update. App's are very jumpy, not nearly as smooth as before.
If this is Apple's way of forcing an update, I may not be an Apple customer anymore.

  • HH3 Poor Signal Upstairs

    Hi
I have BT Infinity installed which comprises of the HH3 and modem downstairs.
I live in a two bed semi-detached and my devices and connections are as follows:
    Downstairs/Connection
    Xbox/No problems
    Kindle Fire/No problems
    Laptop/No problems
    Mobile phone: No problems
    Upstairs/Connection
PC/Interimittent (ok most of the time but can struggle where a connection drops altogether)
Kindle Fire/No connection (sometimes connects but then more or less immediately disconnects, when connected only 6mbps)
    Laptop/No problems
    Mobile phone: No problems
I have tried changing channels on the router which has little effect on the Kindle. I have downloaded a wifi analyser which shows that the bedrooms upstairs have a very poor signal reaching them (although the mobile and laptop seem to deal with this very well, and the PC most times).
Can anyone offer any advice to try and get the signal better upstairs? I would have thought a house such as mine should easily get signals in all arears from the HH3 but obviously not.
    Thanks in advance

I have had a look at the wireless access points and the TP looks good. Can someone explain in n00b language what happens?
Will it plug into my router downstairs and push a stronger signal around the house? If so, its just a more powerful router then?
    Confused..
You cannot get a more powerful wireless router, the maximum transmitted power is restriced by law to 100mW.
If you read my document you can see that there are two options.
Wireless repeater that boosts the signal in an areas that has a poor signal.
    Or
Extra wireless point upstairs, connected over the mains and plugs into the home hub. See the last diagram on this
    page.
The second option is normally the best, as it gives a faster connection, but has the extra cost of the powerline adapters.
You can try the first option, but the repeater needs to be somwhere upstairs, where there is still a usable signal, perhaps in a location above the home hub.
