Poor Sync between Blackberry 10 (Z10) and Goldmine using CompanionLink
First off, I love my new Z10 and it's performance. Blackberry is a superior business tool.
However, for the same reasons identified in posts under syncing to Outlook, I must express astonishment that the sync function runs so poorly.
I have over 2,900 contacts in our Goldmine CRM. Over the years, I've used CompanionLink to sync via USB cable to my BB Curve 8310. After the initial sync, regular daily syncs take about 2 minutes at best. All contacts, calendar appts, to-do's, and notes transfer over to the BB.
With my new Z10, I find that in order to sync from Goldmine, via CompanionLink, I have to use a Z10 installed program, called DejaHub. DejaHub runs the sync from CompanionLink and Goldmine.
However, while the sync ultimately works, it takes over 4 HOURS to complete a one-way sync from Goldmine to the Z10!!! This is completely ridiculous and certainly not a productive use of business time.
After speaking with CompanionLink tech support, they suggested that they are receiving many calls complaining about the LONG sync-times. They indicated that this is a "Blackberry problem" as it's endemic to the BB10 OS. CompanionLink suggested that for every 1,000 contacts, a sync would take over 1 hour - this is NORMAL?
When I asked how long an iPhone takes to sync from Goldmine via CompanionLink, they said it was less than 5 minutes!!
While I am a very loyal BB user and am rooting for the company's survival and success, I believe this is a major oversight to business customers who rely heavily on their central CRM systems. A quick sync to my Z10 should not be a technical nightmare!
I will struggle through this ... meaning that I can only consider syncing my Z10 once per week instead of 2-3 times per day.
I want to know how serious Blackberry is in addressing this issue as, I'm sure, this is a deal breaker for many potential customers.

Hey tlea,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
This is a supported feature. Are you setup on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server? Also have you downloaded the certificate through the browser on the BlackBerry Z10?
I look forward to your reply.
Cheers.

Notes does not sync between iPhone 6 plus and iPad Air
The Notes app does not sync between iPhone 6 plus and iPad Air. These used to sync before when I had an iPhone 4. I have been trying to troubleshoot this for about an hour now, so all the basics such as deciding on a default Notes account, to turning on and off iCloud functions for both devices, as well as signing out of of my apple account on both devices, then back in. Nothing seems to be working - is this a fault in the current iOs?? It's driving me nuts.
You can't pair iOS devices.
that's not how continuity works.

Calendar sync between iCal, Outlook 2011 and 2010 and iCloud
All,
I'm having trouble syncing calendars on my devices and I haven't been able to find a workable solution yet. I know this topic has been covered extensively, but I haven't found anything that works.
I want to be able to sync my calendars (email works just fine) between three devices: A MBP (Mountain Lion) running Outlook 2011, iPhone 4S (Calendar App) and a desktop (Win8) with Outlook 2010.
Currently, I have no problem syncing the desktop with my iPhone (using iCloud) and these events sync into iCal on the MBP. Outlook 2011 on the MBP syncs into iCal using Sync Services to the "On My Mac" calendar. All of my previous calendar entries are single events in the iPhone, Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2011, but show up as duplicates in iCal (one entry is in the iCloud calendar, and other is in the On My Mac calendar). Since I don't use iCal as my "working" calendar program on my MBP, the duplicates are fine if it works as an interface between iCloud and On My Mac.
For any new calendar items, however, I must obviously select which calendar they'll appear in. As suspected, if I select iCloud, the items all sync to iCal, Outlook 2010 and my iPhone, but not Outlook 2011; conversely, creating events in Outlook 2011 syncs via On My Mac to iCal, but not the devices as using iCloud.
It seems to me that if a rule could be made in iCal which duplicated any event from On My Mac into iCloud, and another rule which duplicated iCloud events into On My Mac, there would be complete syncing across the programs, with obvious duplications of events in iCal (which is fine by me). I'm not a programmer and I have no idea how to, or even if, this can be done.
Has anyone else found a way to make this work, or have any other solutions?
Any help is greatly appreciated.Outlook 2011 is not compatible with iCloud, it won't work and your 'workaround' may affect iCloud clients on the same account.
Don't use 2011. -
Syncing between iBooks on iPhone and iPad suddenly stopped working.
Have been using iBooks regularly between my 2 devices and has been flawlessly syncing bookmarks and pages correctly. Just finished one book which had no issues at all. Purchased another and sync seems to have stopped working completely. Really annoying and quite ironic that the book that seems to have broken the system is the Jony Ive biography. I have tried downloading the book and also reinstalling the app but doesn't seem to come back to life.
accidently found out how to sync the library:
drag and drop an ebook (that you haven't purchased in the ibooks store) from finder into iBooks on your Mac
open up iTunes and connect your iPhone or iPad - you should now see the "books" tab again next to apps, music etc...
in the "books" section, choose "sync books" and "all books"
press the sync button (lower right corner - don't know what its called in the english version) - your iBooks on the Mac should now be copied over to your idevice and vice versa. all the stuff that was on your iPad before should now also show up in iBooks on your Mac (including PDFs )
this will at least keep your library synced on all devices, I think this won't sync bookmarks and notes though
hope this helps a little bit -

To switch between your Mac mini and iMac, you just have to turn on or off Target Display mode. To do it, press Command and F2 keys in your iMac, not only F2

Not really sure where this question should go, since it crosses 3 topic areas. Neither my contacts nor my calendar will sync from iMac (mountain lion) to iPad 3 (ios6). I've tried a byzantine series of fixes - mostly involving backing up each, turning off cloud syncing, turning it back on, with lots of little steps in between (I'd be more detailed, but I gave up for several weeks and don't really remember them). Is this a real issue, or am I missing something simple? It's extremely frustrating to have what is advertised as basic functionality not work even a little bit. Especially when 3rd party apps sync just fine. Any help would be much appreciated.
Never mind... It was indeed something simple that I missed (my icloud account was attached to an apple ID I didn't even know existed -- created for me?? ... fixed it - settings, icloud, sign out, signed back in as my actual apple ID).

Syncs between the Mac AB and Palm handhelds don't work???
I'm ready to change from Palm Desktop for Mac to Mac PIMs and use Missing Sync to sync. On a Mark/Space (Missing Sync) forum, I noted that people were complaining that they making changes on their Treo to a contact which was not reflected on the Mac AB after a sync.
The Missing Sync Lead Software Engineer indicated that Missing Sync doesn't do that because they don't "own" the sync - that is all handled by Apple's Sync Services, which is a multi-client architecture that many sync apps can be part of. Sync Services is much more in the way of keeping data around rather than OVERWRITING OR DELETING IT. Missing Sync "pushes" into Sync Services exactly what is on the device; it is up to Sync Services to determine what to do with the changes depending on its rules."
1. If you are successfully syncing a Palm (and especially a Treo) with Mac PIMs (and especially if you're using Missing Sync), are changes (additions, deletions, changes) made on your contacts reflected on the other platform after the sync?
2. Are the changes you make more likely to be successfully synced if they are made on the Mac PIM versus on the Palm?
3. Is this same thing true for iCal (ie, changing an appointment by adding information) or tasks?
5. Are there any workarounds or do I have to check my Treo and Mac PIMs everytime to make certain that all changes were successfully synced to the other platform?
6. When I make changes in my Treo 680 contacts and sync it to the AB using Missing Sync, how do I know if the changes will be reflected in the AB? Am I notified on a log or by popup or do I have to check the Mac AB? I might make several changes each day in both the desktop or Treo contacts but I never make changes on both platforms for the SAME contact (except by error).
If changes made in one platform are not successfully synced to the other, why would anyone who syncs use Mac PIMs? This problem must be very limited.Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"? There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.
Read references for Home Sharing.
iTunes: How to share music and video - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2688 - about Music Sharing and Home Sharing
Home Sharing Support page - http://www.apple.com/support/homesharing/
iOS: Setting up Home Sharing on your device - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4557 - "With Home Sharing in iOS 4.3 or later, you can stream your entire iTunes library over your home Wi-Fi network from your Mac or PC right to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."
The above can get pretty complicated. You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content. -
Music not syncing between OS 10.8 and iPhone 4 (iOS 6)
I manage the syncing of music between my Mac and my iPhone 4 but creating multiple playlists on my Mac and syncing some of these playlists with my iPhone. This worked really well until I upgraded by iPhone to iOS6. Now, irrespective of which playlists I select to sync in iTunes (or even if I choose to not sync music at all) all of the playlists from my Mac appear in the Music app in my iPhone. If I try to play a playlist that hasn't been synced, my iPhone moves very quickly through all of the tracks in that playlist, effectively locking up the Music app.
Anyone got any ideas as to how I might go about fixing this?Force restart?
Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button and home button at the same time.
Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it.
Wait until the white Apple logo appears.
When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting. -
Is there a way to get iCloud tabs to sync between my iPod touch and Safari for Windows?
I would like to know if there is a setting or something that I'm missing over...
I already have iTunes and the iCloud Control Panel on my Windows 8 computer. Is the iCloud Tab feature Mac-only or can I get it to sync with Safari for Windows? Thanks for the help.OS X Lion and Windows 7 users can still sync Bookmarks and the Reading List with iOS devices via iCloud when using Safari 5.1. The iCloud Control Panel 2.1 for Windows also supports syncing Bookmarks with Internet Explorer 9, but not the Reading List as IE simply doesn’t have an equivalent feature.
While not as seamless as the iCloud Tabs feature, Bookmarks and Reading List can still be an effective way to share pages between your Windows 7 PC and your iOS devices; if you’re using Safari on Windows, the Reading List is best for storing and sharing one-time content while Bookmarks obviously are better suited for keeping track of pages that you may want to refer back to more than once.

Cradle sync between BB Desktop Software and Zimbra
Hi, I am a new Black Berry user. Only received my phone yesterday. I searched the forum for a solution on how to sync my BB 9800 with BB Desktop Software (version 6.0.0.246) and Zimbra (My company's choice not mine) desktop client (Version B10580). The only solutions I found was for older versions of the BB desktop. When you configure the Desktop software Zimbra does not feature in the options list. Anyone out there with a workaround for this problem. I only care about my contacts and diary. I do not mind using the USB cable and BB desktop to do the syncing. Once a day syncing is all I require. We do not have BES. Only a few of us have BB devices. Most have Nokia phones (I was also a diehard very satisfied Nokia user - decided to try something different :-) )
Regards,
KobusHi and Welcome to the Forums!
While I don't know if any are compatible, you can find older versions of the RIM software here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
You also have the ability to synchronize via ASCII or CSV (exported from your desktop PIM):
KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
KB11194 How to import contacts from an CSV file to the BlackBerry device
Sorry, but RIM provides no assistance on how to get your data out of your old device and into the ASCII or CSV format...that's a function of your old device.
Good luck and let us know!
