No joke I just check my POP e-mail account (the one I can't send an email from BTW) and it said "Load 25 More Meessage : 2,147,483,646 unread
what is going on. I check mail via webmail and I don't have any e-mail there. Help

Your post gave me a great laugh! I've never seen anything like that before! That calls for a screenshot and a forward to Macworld.
If you are having trouble with that account, maybe try completely deleting it and re-entering all the settings. Something might be wrong that you haven't noticed. I know this isn't the best advice, but it's what I've done in the past when setting up accounts. Sometimes when one thing is wrong, everything ends up getting messed up when you try to fix it.
With email-sending issues, make sure you have the right ports set up. I go crazy with that every time, but different services require different ports. Try the forums for the Apple Mail program. Usually searching there will reveal the different ports required.
It could also have something to do with your internet connection (if the problem only happens when you are on WiFi rather than EDGE.) I use one secure connection that I have never been able to use to send email from any account.

Quick pop-up window in thunderbird pop-up window says I have 5 messages, but only one was in the in-box.

I am using Thunderbird for Mac. A pop-up alert says I have message from so-and-so plus 4 others. Only so-and-so's message was in the in-box. What happened to the other four? Has this anything to do with the "Junk" status because whenever I received unsolicited mail I mark them as junk? Or is there any other reason?

In general, creating filters isn't necessarily a good way to fight spam. Check this article for more information on setting up your junk mail controls.

Yes, it happens to me all the time. I deleted an app because it froze the. Tried to redownloading it but it wouldn't let me ivd tried all of my cards and nothing works. I thought it was because I had a negative balance but I have a to of money all accounts. It'd be very helpful if someone could help us out.

Hi Pat. I've done that, it opens up the install window again. If I click on install it says it's already installed. Nothing comes up that allows me to accept the end user agreement. I just retried and the same thing happens.

Ipad Inbox (non-Icloud account) says I have 1,360 messages

I have a non-Icloud email account on my iPad Air. A couple of weeks ago the inbox for that account said I have 1,360 unread emails. I have looked in the inbox, the deleted, etc. folders and cannot find the emails. I can successfully delete any new emails. I have checked in "Settings" on my iPad. I do not have this problem with the same account on my MacBook Pro. I have looked at my account on the email provider's website, nothing. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think you are misunderstanding or perhaps, I didn't explain clearly enough. I apologize.
I want you to force close the mail app first. This might be more helpful than my explanation.

I don't know if these steps will work for you, I'm assuming that you are getting an incorrect reading due to an iOS glitch and typically these steps help.

A pop-up window says I have mutiple tabs but I can't switch between them

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

You did not get an email, you got a MMS. You have to enable MMS on your phone before you can see the picture.

4.3 billion unread messages? Um...

Well, I'll grant you that I've been playing with a few plugins for Mail.app, but it's been nothing extensive. I tried Letterbox, and didn't like it, so I disabled it. And I'm using Mail Badger right now to track the counts of two different inboxes on my dock icon.
Now... I just happened to look up, and I saw this:

There is no way in heII that I could possibly have even NEAR that many messages. Not only that, my dock icon says there's no unread. And there ISN'T any unread messages anywhere, including all my folders and my RSS.
Can anyone explain this?

I found similar anomalies when I moved from IMAP on one server to IMAP on Gmail.
Try quitting Mail, deleting "~/Library/Mail/Envelope Index" and then restarting.

I have too many unread messages for my computer to...

Help would be very much appreciated, I haven't been able to find a customer support to call so I'm asking here.
Pretty much I have a really old computer and I recently had to work out of state without internet for a few months.
When I got back one of my groups (one I want to frequent) had so many unread messages that whenever I clicked on the group it would crash skype. (not responding, then I'd be forced to ctrl-shift-esc out of skype.)
So I decided to simply right click the group and "mark all as unread"...
...Which crashed skype and didn't remove any of them.
Fine, I decided to try everything, contacting the admin to kick me and re-invite (and the unread messages are still there), leaving (which crashes skype), removing the group from contacts (crash), and finally uninstalling/reinstalling skype to no avail.
So, since all I have is my computer which cant handle this (I'm snowed in atm) what (if anything) can I do to force the "unread" messages to be gone?
It says there are 144249 of them (and a few days ago when I was still trying to fix it it was upwards of 400k).

Found one close enough and the fix worked. Hopefully the group doesn't send me 500k messages welcoming me back before I get on tomorrow.

Not going to happen the way you want it to.
When you add a gift card balance to the Apple ID, it's available for the Apple ID.
Probably best to create unique Apple ID's for each... this will also make things easier in the future as purchases are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.
