Pop Port Ignition sense pin

I have a BMW installed car kit for a Nokia 6230i, however I cannot get the ignition sense to work. I have enabled this in the nokia menu.
when I look at the carkit the only pins connected to the pop port are;
1- Vin
2 - Gnd
9 - mic-
10 - mic+
Please can someone explain what pin should be connected to enable ignition sense and what voltage should be applied Vcc or GND? If I can find out I will be able to modify the BMW part.
I have looked up the pin out of the pop port but can't tell how the ignition sense works.
1 - Vin - Charger input
2- GND - Charger output
3 - ACI - Auto-connect Ignition
4 - Vout -
5 - USB Vbus - Also act as USB power detection?
6 - Fbus Rx/USB D+
8 - GND - Data GND (Logic)
9 - VMic- - Audio IN - Ext. Mic input negative
10 - VMic+ - Audio IN - Ext. Mic input positive
11 - Hs Ear L- - Audio Out - Ext. audio out: left-negative
12 - Hs Ear L+ - Audio Out - Ext. audio out: left-positive
13 - Hs Ear R- - Audio Out - Ext. audio out: right-negative
14 - Hs Ear R+ - Audio Out - Ext. audio out: right-positive
* - GND - Shield GND in cavities
Thanks for your help..

It helps to understand the whole IGNS system.
If you set the ignition on in the phone´s menu it only means that the phone will sense the ignition status of the carkit and act accordingly, e.g. automatically switch off if the carkit feels ignition off and phone in idle etc.
So far so good.
The phone knows the ignition status of the carkit over ACI message. So this to connet is a must.
But - big question is what kind of BMW carkit you have and if this one is able to read and interprete ACI messages as this ACI is a proprietary interface and only Nokia carkits use it as far as I know.
Any more information available ?

  • 2.5mm / Pop Port Adaptor for Car Kit?

I currently have a Nokia Car Charger / Hands-free that my work installed, it has a power connector and a 2.5mm connector. I use it with a Nokia 1100 but I have upgraded to a Nokia 6100, however since the 1100 uses a 2.5mm connector and the 6100 uses some kind of Pop Port, it doesn't connect. I'm not sure of the brand of car kit since my wife is using the car, all I can remember is the name begins with 'A' but that's not much help. Anyway, if someone could suggest an appropriate product to use, that would be very helpful.
    William.

The only car kit i can think of who supplies a cradle to fit the Nokia 1100 is THB Bury, if this is fitted into your car you will be able to replace the cradle, it simply clips off, expect to pay around £60. Let me know if you can see any names or part numbers.

  • PoP Port Connector Issues

I seem to have a dodgie pop-port on my phone or dodgie cables?
I wiggle the pc cable and that causes it to disconnect from the pc and phone yet its still in the socket and the headset sometimes if i wiggle it, the sound cuts out..
Can I take this to a Nokia shop to get it fixed under warranty or do I have to RMA it back to Expansys?

Yes, Nokia's pop-port wasn't their best invention. I had similar problems with my 6280 and I've heard countless other people with similar issues.
What I used to do always was to blow on the handset's connector in order to dislodge any dust particles, and then wipe the contacts on the headphone or USB cable with a soft cloth in order to get rid of dust/grease/etc. Then annd only then did I get a relatively stable connection.

  • Pop port that supports a mic

Does anybody know if there is a pop port that supports a mic like the shure mpa? http://www.amazon.co.uk/SHURE-MPA-Adapter-for-iPhone/dp/B000UD205K
    It's for my E61i.

you can use single job server for exectuing jobs and managing Adapter communication, the same job server will be executing the jobs and handling communication to and from Adapter
you don't need a dedicated Access Server for JMS, you can use the same Access Server

  • CK-7W Bluetooth with Pop Port being used

I have the CK-7W (without the cradle) and an N93.
Everything works great with it except when I have a FM Transmitter connected to the Pop Port so I can play MP3's from the N93.
My problem in this scenario is as follows - A call comes in and the sound is routed to the radio via the transmitter. I have to disconnect the transmitter from the Pop Port. The phone then returns to the General Profile, not the Car Kit profile. So, I then have to try to activate the Car Kit Profile (either from the phone itself or by a single push of the 7W button). Then I have to press the button again to answer the call.
By the time I have done all this the call is usually long gone.
Anyone else have this problem? Any way to set it up so that it reverts to the Car Kit profile automatically when a call comes in (ideally!!) or at least when you disconnect the transmitter?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Is that the old holder from an old carkit? I've always thought that the CK-7W was built to be wireless and that the phone doesn't have to be physically connected.

  • CA-55 Pop-Port = any phone?

    Hi
I know that there is a limited number of holders for Nokia phones that are compatible with the CA-55 converter cable. But is it possible to plug the CA-55 directly into any Pop-Port on any phone and get hand-free and charging functions (with the latest CARK-91 control boxes)? No cradle, just a Universal cradle. The information I have read is not clear on this.
I guess the phone needs a Hands-free mode?
The phone I am hoping to connect is the 7370 or 7373 which have Pop-Port.
    regards
    TT

the chances of these phones working with a car-k91 + ca-55 are very slim, it normally dose not support smartphones but there is such a grey area that its a gamble. I would buy a ck-7w and use as bluetooth connection only, thats the way the phone is designed to be used due to no specific cradle being available.

  • Cark-91 and pop port adapter

Hi all, i have a cark-91 in my car which works fine but now i have a n73 so i purchased a pop port adapter, i read from other posts that a slight modifacation to the adapter and the n73 will fit,and the only draw back was that it might not charge which was ok by me.Now i have fitted pop port adapter with my n73 fitting it,the car symbol appears on the screen the phone is charging but i have no sound, do i need to activate something on my phone, i am currently using v3.0704.1.0.1 software, any help would be great.

  • N70, CR-27 & CK-7W via Pop port. Lights on?

Hi folks I use the N70 in a CR-27 cradle connected to the CK-7W by pop port. Unlike my previous Nokia phones this N70 does not offer a 'handsfree' option on the enhancements menu when placed either in the CR-27 cradle or directly onto the pop port. This means the 'lights on' option is not selectable for my cradled N70 as the menu is not available. The phone charges in the cradle & the N70 is succesfully used via the car speakers/mic.The firmware version was updated to the most recent available by a Nokia service centre last week. Can anyone assist me with how to achieve 'lights on' when the N70 is cradled. Any suggestions?

I also have got an N70 working in a car kit - with antenna connection using the CK7W and CA27 cable into pop-port style cradle with antenna coupler. I can't get the lights to stay on - even with a new profile. I have asked the Nokia support people and they say it isn't possible.

  • E65, CK-7W and which Pop-Port?

    Hi,
I have read that the E65 does work with the CK-7W - good news from the discussion pages, thanks! I have also read that the E65 is compatible with Pop Ports (from Nokia). Question is: which holder links the E65 to the CK-7W? I have a MBC-15s holder at the moment.
    Can anyone help?

  • Covert 2.5 to POP Port

I have a Pop Port Headset that I love. I want to use it with my Nokia e62 that has a 2.5 jack. Where do I find a converter from 2.5 to Pop so that I can continue to use my headset.

I've never seen such a device.
I've seen adapters that plug into a pop-port and give a standard 3.5mm socket to plug in regular headphones, but never something that provides a pop-port.
I think you're out of luck.

  • N91 & pop port

I have a customer who has just purchased an n91 and use to connect his old mobile to his ck7w via pop port. The n91 doesn't have a pop port connection are nokia going to release an adaptor?

fharland, this is a user support board for owners of Nokia products. It is not the place to source information for your customer.
I suggest you contact your local Nokia rep for further information on this.

I want a back up phone and want to know which is the oldes/cheapest nokia with a pop port
    Any help would be appreciated.

There'll be a few available on ebay with pop ports at dirt cheap prices now... To name a few that I've had: 6100 & 7250i - both with Pop Ports & both fairly good quality and reliable. I'm currently using my 6230i as my 2nd/spare phone.

  • Pop port car charger

    Hi,
I have a bluetooth handsfree kit (non nokia) for the car and would like to mount my phone (Nokia 6233) on the dashboard and have it charged whilst in the holder.
This can obviously be done using a Nokia car kit but I do not need the full car kit (I already have bluetooth kit) just the holder and a pop port cable which goes from the holder to a power source in the car. I would prefer this to be hard wired than having an adaptor in the cigarette lighter.
I have Nokia 6233 and would like to use the holder CR56.
Can someone tell me what cable I need and where I can buy it.
    Thanks very much.
    Matthew

All you need is an in-car charger lead, the cr-56 has a pop port connector and a charging connector on the bottom, us the same one as you would for your phone.
