Pop up blocker for OS 10.8.3?

Hello everyone, is there a popup blocker that works with Mountain Lion 10.8.3?  It tells me that Glimmerblocker is no longer compatable.

Most Web browsers have built-in popup blockers that you can enable. For Safari this can be done in the Security preferences, in Firefox this setting is in the Content preferences, and in Chrome this setting is in the Advances preferences if you click the Content button in the Privacy section.

How do I disable the pop-up blocker for Android

    Hi kingkash :-)
if you wish to disable Pop-ups, you can follow these instructions:
Type about:config in the address bar
Search dom.disable_open_during_load and set it to false
To re-enable the Pop-up blocker, set dom.disable_open_during_load to true
I hope you find this information useful.

  • How do I remove firefox pop up blocker for a particular website? My phone is an android

I cannot log in to cc.dealer.com because of pop up blocker. Site requests to allow pop up but I dont know how to do this on my android cell

I don't believe there is a way to make that site work with your phone at this time. It uses some pop up methods that do not work with browsers that only have one window.

  • I cannot effectively disable pop-up blocker for a certain site - it won't allow me to view attachments to documents at this site.

I am attempting to review documents that have attachments. I am unable to view the attachments. I just get a blank page and the message that my brower has installed a pop-up blocker installed and I need to disable it. When I go into my Tools, the pop up block box is not checked. Is there another location that I need to look?

I posted about this a few days ago with no response. VERY annoying! I am working at a job on Quickbooks online and in the middle of entering transactions I keep getting the message that Firefox is blocking something but the pop-up blocker is not even checked on in preferences and the message at the top when you open it asks if I want to allow the web address I'm on - WHICH IS ALREADY LISTED IN THE LIST THEY ARE SHOWING ME of allowed sites!
This forces me to have to quit Quickbooks, quit Firefox, relaunch the whole thing! Its ridiculous. I've never had this issue before this past week. I'm running Firefox 3.6.20 on an iMac running OS 10.4.11
    PLEASE HELP!

  • How do i turn off pop up blocker for certain sites?

Im trying to apply for a job online and need the pop ups to be enabled for the last stage of my application. I am quite hopeless with using my mac.

Do you mean the Safari popup blocker?
If so, just go to the menu bar and deselect Safari > Block Pop-up Windows to remove the check mark beside it. If the check mark isn't showing when the menu drops down, we have more work to do.

  • Video Ad Pop Up Blocker for iPhone?

I am looking for a way to disable video ads while searching the web.
I am on the Verizon Wireless 2 GB data plan. (UGH) Likewise, I am unable to get unlimited Internet for my home so again I am stuck with Verizon's Home Fusion 20 GB service. Needless to say, every little bit of data that me and my family has is very precious.
Lately we have really been going over our data allowance and with overage costing between $10 and $15 per 1 GB that is really annoying. I found out my Mom's iPhone was using iCloud as back up and that was tearing through data -- that's turned off now! Another thing I noticed which I disliked was all of the super annoying ads, pop ups, and ad videos that play on free websites such as Facebook, etc. All of those ads use data and we are not even looking at them! On my personal PC I use Google Chrome. Chrome offer a neat extention called AdBlock that has done an excellent job shutting those ads down, thus saving us data.
My question is -- Is there any service like that for the iPhone? What are my options so I can stop wasting data?
Also, sort of unrelated, anyone have any tips on how to save data?
    Thanks a lot!
    Danielle

Depends which version of FireFox, but I use this...

I never use Chrome as it sends too much info to Google.

my pop-up blocker is turned on..pop-ups still come up..if they have sound it will continue after i close the window..explorer windows pop-up also but sound shuts off when window is closed
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == since i downloaded firefox

See [[Pop-up blocker]] for troubleshooting information on why pop-ups are not being blocked. A pop-up from Firefox will have the Firefox logo and it will say Mozilla Firefox on top (See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Pop-up+blocker?bl=n&s=pop%2520up%2520blocker#Is_the_pop_up_coming_from_Firefox_ Is the pop-up coming from Firefox?] for more information.) Attached is an example. If you determine the pop-ups are not coming from Firefox:
Your issue may be caused by Malware. You can run and update the following '''free''' antivirus software:

    2. Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.safer-networking.org

  • Pop-up blocker IE 5.x

Is there any pop-up blocker for IE 5.1.7 in OS 9.2.2? Strangely, I like IE better then Modzilla.

I switched to Mozilla for OS 9 & like it better than IE. It works on web pages that IE has problems with. Plus, Mozilla has a pop-up ad blocker & a password manager. Download Wamcom's Mozilla browser at:
    http://wamcom.org/latest-131/
Is this the version 1.3.1 you tried? IE is obsolete & no longer being supported by Micro$oft.
    Cheers, Tom

  • Pop up blocker froze on safari screen

Help! I have a pop up blocker for a website froze on my safari tab. I can't open any additional tabs or windows. I also can't change anything under the tabs for file, edit, view, etc to make changes for the pop up blocker settings!
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You have an old version of Flash Player that is likely causing this issue.
The best version to get for most users is the latest Flash 10.1 release candidate from [http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html] - choose the "plug-in for Windows".

  • I seem to have multiple problems related or unrelated.  I cannot use Apple Mail for blueyonder and mostly for gmail as both show that the server is off line.  My pop up blocker doesn't work and I am blitzed with pop up windows on nearly every command

Firstly I am unable to use Apple mail except for hotmail, for blueyonder, gmail or Sky as the server shows as (off line) and I have no idea how to get them on line even though I tell them to go there.
My pop up blocker doesn't work and I am blitzed with advertising windows virtually on ever command I make, one seems to be impossible to unsubscribe from.
When I am in an email with a web link the web link doesn't work and I get a window saying that I must have a pop up blocker, but if I switch it off it is no different, what does work is switching the "enable Java script off", then when I get to the web site I can't use it until I switch the java script back on.
I can't do a screen shot either full or partial, when I try it changes the web site that is on screen to another.
So what have I done that might have caused problems, downloading Yosemite seemed to be the start of the problems.  Since then I have started to install Mackeeper, after checking with a family members who should know, that MacPaw is safe.  I decided that I didn't want to pay the subscription, so went through the uninstall instructions but it comes up as a pop up with considerable regularity.
My stress levels have gone through the roof with pop ups happening so regularly and not being able to use Apple mail.o can anyone help please?
