Pop up blocker froze on safari screen

Help! I have a pop up blocker for a website froze on my safari tab. I can't open any additional tabs or windows. I also can't change anything under the tabs for file, edit, view, etc to make changes for the pop up blocker settings!
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You have an old version of Flash Player that is likely causing this issue.
The best version to get for most users is the latest Flash 10.1 release candidate from [http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html] - choose the "plug-in for Windows".

A pop up in safari has blocked Internet use and shut down options. I can shut down but it reappears when I open up safari

    Hi Crittervan,
As of now NO, there is not a way to block some popup windows and not others.
You have to just uncheck block popup blockers when you may need them.
You can send Feedback requesting this feature on future os.

  • I turned off Safari pop up blocker but it still says I have a pop up blocker.  How do I find pop-up blockers?

I have turned the pop-up blocker off in Safari, but I still am getting the message to turn off my pop up blocker when I try to read my e-mail in AOL.  It will not let me click on any e-mail to go to a web site.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

I have pop-up blocker disabled in Safari for iPad.  However, I still get prompts to "Allow" or decline popups.  I don't want to prompted. I just want the popups to open.  How do I do this?

How do I turn off pop-up blocker on new iPad if it is "greyed out" in safari settings?

'''Diego Victor''', this is for Firefox on Android. The Tools->Options is for Firefox on Windows only.
I think the only way still that you can turn of popup blocker on Android version is in '''about:config'''
    Try this.
Type '''about:config''' in the Location (address) bar and filter for '''dom.disable_open_during_load''' and set it to '''false'''.
After you are done you should enable the popup blocker again.

  • How do I stop pop-up blocker on the new Safari?

It used to be easy----it was located under "Safari" and you just selected or un-selected it. But now that option is gone---I can't locate where to turn pop-up blocking on and off. Anybody know? Thanks!

It was right in front of me! I actually looked at that window several times but never saw it.
    Thanks a ton!!

    Might be a Safari extension...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, then quit and relaunch Safari to test.

  • Even though in my Mac Book settings pop up blocker is on, i am getting lot of pop ups and security alerts from mackeepar on every click i do on the screen. how can i clear that issue?

i have a mac book 13" 0f 2010, when ever i click on the screen a pop up of google survey, lottery or security alert of mac keeper pops up. i have pop up blocker on in the settings. how to clear is issue. is that a security threat to my system? please help.

One of the most common pieces of adware that causes MacKeeper pop-ups is Downlite, and if Mark is infected with that, it will prevent him from loading the AdwareMedic website. If that happens, see:

  • I have pop-ups coming up in Safari - even w/ pop-up blocker enabled

I don't know how to explain this...except, I have the pop-up blocker enabled, but when I went into a site (forget which), there were two "poker" ads that popped up. Is this spyware possibly?

Sneaky web developers and advertisers can get around traditional blocking software. As Apple and other patch the workarounds, they'll just find other ways to "advertise". Safari, Firefox... It doesn't matter. None block 100%.

  • Can't Disable Safari Pop-Up Blocker

I'm using Safari 5.1.7 on my iMac's OS X version 10.6.8 system, and am unable to get the pop-up blocker disabled. I enabled it a few days back to see the effect, and found that some of the sites I depend on did not display certain information that is useful to me. Now I can't disable the pop-up blocker. I've cleared the enable checkbox for the pop-up blocker in Safari > preferences > security, as well as making sure that Safari > Block Pop-Up Windows is deselected. I have also restarted the computer after selecting those options. All to no avail. I still don't receive many of the graphics that should be presented by the websites.
Thank you for any help you may offer.

I found my problem!  While fooling around with the machine, I had unchecked the box marked "Display images when the page opens" which is found under Safari > Preferences > Appearance.  Putting a check in that box got the pages to load with everything viewable.

  • Pop Up Blocker Question

When responding to the pop up blocker message the IPAD freezes and I cannot get it to "unfreeze".
Turning the IPAD off and back on does not correct this issue - Please advise how this can be fixed.

Is this in Safari or another app ? If Safari then try clearing its cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (Clear Cache on iOS 4) and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing the app completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
