Pop-up blocking exception doesn't allow pop-up for banking site

I have entered an exception web address and selected 'allow', but the pop-up is still not allowed. Internet Explorer has no issue, so I figure it's not my virus protection.
I do not understand what Firefox is looking for.

The following article includes information about the pop-up blocker and some troubleshooting steps. Please read that article, I believe it will help you get this issue resolved.

    There is a preference setting on the <b>about:config</b> page that is meant for developers and testers to make this possible, but it is not meant for normal users.
    *full-screen-api.approval-required = false
    You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar.
    You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

  • Need to allow pop-ups for a site

    My bank has upgraded their website. I need to answer a question in a pop-up box to be able to use the website. Firefox blocks the pop-up box even though I have told it to allow pop-ups for the website.
    How do I get it to allow the pop-up box or do I have to use IE?

    I tried that. I also talked to the people who developed and maintain the site. They said it is not a pop-up window - it is part of the site. Since it showed when I tried Internet Explorer they think it is a problem with Mozilla Firefox or my web connection. They asked me to try accessing it with my computer at a public place that offers free Internet.

  • How do i permanently block pop ups for certain sites

    how do i permanently block pop ups for certain sites

    According to this thread > http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f65/blocking-individual-web-sites-on-safa ri-226175.html
    You can use the Terminal app to block individual sites but be aware, unless you are familiar using Terminal, best to click your Apple menu  (top left in your screen) then click Block Pop-Up Windows from the drop down menu instead.

  • How can I allow popups only for specific sites in Safari 7.1?

    I have popups blocked by default, but need to allow them for specific sites at work.  How can I do this without allowing them for all sites?

    Hi ..
    It's all or nothing with Block pop-up windows selected in Safari > Preferences > Security.

  • Revert my allowing smtp sasl for external site

    Our version is 6.3
    Previously we've set the smtp relaying from outside if they could authenticate
    the tcp_auth channel was set as follows:
    tcp_auth smtp mx single_sys mustsaslserver missingrecipientpolicy 4
    and the tcp_local like this:
    tcp_local smtp mx single_sys remotehost inner switchchannel identnonenumeric sub
    dirs 20 maxjobs 7 pool SMTP_POOL maytlsserver maysaslserver saslswitchchannel
    tcp_auth missingrecipientpolicy 0 loopcheck
    Now we want to disable smtp connection from outside (to prevent mail relaying cos someone might
    guess the password of some users) even with authentication
    I tried to change the tcp_auth
    to look like this
    tcp_auth smtp mx single_sys nosasl nosaslserver missingrecipientpolicy 4
    But this didn't work for me ( I tried from outside site to send mail using smtp authentication
    and still I was allowed)
    Could someone enlighten me on how to take off smtp auth altogether
    (I could even take off for internal site as well)
    Thanks in advance

    You don't really want to "disable smtp connection from outside", do you? That would mean not receiving any mail from outside.
    If you just want to disable SMTP authentication from the outside, then remove "maysaslserver" and "saslswitchchannel tcp_auth" from the tcp_local channel. Those are how SMTP connections coming from outside are allowed to authenticate and then switched to be coming from the tcp_auth channel instead of tcp_local.
    You probably have the same issue with the tcp_submit channel, which would normally be messages coming in on port 587. But removing those from the tcp_submit channel would also mean your local users cannot authenticate. Alternatively, you could use your firewall to block connections to port 587 from outside or accomplish similar with the PORT_ACCESS mapping table.
    But I really question the wisdom of this whole line of thought. SMTP authentication is a good thing. It improves your overall security. Of course if users have easily guessable passwords, that is a password policy issue.

  • I added exceptions for the pop up blocker but most of the time it still does not allow the pop ups for the sites I listed as exceptions

    the pop up blocker is inconsistent. i added websites to the exceptions list but most of the times when i load firefox it does not allow the exceptions...sometimes it does but i can't find any reason or consistency as to why it sometimes allows them and sometimes doesn't. They are clearly listed on the exceptions option.
    What is wrong?

  • My pop-up blockers stays on, but when I would click something a pop-up a bar would come across asking if I wanted to "allow pop-ups for this site" or view a specific block pop-up. I accidentally clicked on "do not ask again". How do I get the bar back?

    My Firefox is set up to delete cache, and all history upon closing. But when I restarted my Firefox, or manually deleted everything, nothing worked. Is there a way to reset these? Or do I have to completely uninstall and reinstall Firefox? Even that might not work though.

    Please do the following.<br><br>
    #In the location bar, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.<br><br>
    #In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''<br><br>
    #Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q= and then click OK.<br><br>
    #Close the tab
    The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
    '''To reset your home page, do the following'''.<br><br>
    * Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.<br><br>
    * Click the Firefox button, go to '''Options '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.<br><br>
    * Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.<br><br>
    * Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.<br>
    N.B. Some of your plugins are out of date which exposes your system to attack. Please visit the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update where necessary.
    Also, click '''Help '''| '''Check For Updates''' to update Firefox to 3.6.19

  • When I go to my safari settings I cannot turn off my "Block Pop-ups for a site.  It is stuck in the on position.

    I have certain websites that use popups that I need to be able to use.  When I go to Safari settings I cannot turn of the "block pop ups" setting.  It is grayed out and only in the on postion.

    You will need to have the hold switch replaced.

  • Console Exception Handling.  Allow another attempt for user before exiting

    I am trying to implement a very simple program that prompts the user for info and reads in a few numbers. If the user accidentally enters a letter instead of a number I want the user to get another chance, not just execute the exception handler and exit the program (as it does now). I'd rather have the user get stuck in an endless loop waiting for valid input versus exiting on the first invalid entry.
    The code I am using is something like this:
    try{
       System.out.println("Enter a number?");
       int b=System.in.read();
       char c=(char) b;
       String s=String.valueOf(c);
       p.setDummyValue(Integer.parseInt(s) ); //**Possible Exception Here
    catch(NumberFormatException e) {
       System.out.println("Invalid Input");
       // *** I'd love to somehow return to the "Enter a number" line from here
    catch(IOException e) {
       //IO error code here
    }Q: How can I implement the ability to allow a user to correct invalid input?
    Thanks

    Something like this should work:boolean numberValid = false;
    while (!numberValid) {
         try {
              System.out.println("Enter a number?");
              int b=System.in.read();
              System.in.skip(System.in.available()); // skip carriage return
              char c=(char) b;
              String s=String.valueOf(c);
              p.setDummyValue(Integer.parseInt(s));
              numberValid = true;
         } catch(NumberFormatException e) {
              System.out.println("Invalid Input");
         } catch(IOException e) {
              //IO error code here
    }

  • Skip Webbproxy Pop Up for Internet sites iViews

    Hallo,
    we use EP 7.0 SP9.
    Our customer has a special security feature: Users need username/password to connect to the Internet. When they open the browser a pop up appears. After typing in their username-password they can view the Internet-site.
    We created some Internet URL-iViews. When we go to these sites, the pop up appears.
    Has anybody got an idea how we can skip the pop up window???
    (We could use a general username/password for authentication).
    Thanks
    Antje

    Hope this helps

  • Ipad cover doesn't allow swipe up for airplay on ios7

    Help! I have downloaded ios7 on all our school ipads and because of the shape of our ipad covers, can no longer access airplay. We cannot swipe up as the cover is too chunky. Does anyone know of another way to access airplay other than the swipe up?? Thanks

    Nettlenz wrote:
    Yes, the shape of the cover is the problem. Interestingly, the swipe up works fine for ipad 4s, it's the ipad 2s that are the problem. It's **** near impossible to get airplay to work on them. Grrr
    Then likely - and I am seriously not being facetious - the cover is also the solution. Needs to be replaced.

  • DW CC2014 doesn't remember ftp settings for some sites

    Even when the remember password box is checked I have to re-enter the ftp username and password for some websites. This wasn't a problem in previous versions.

    When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW

  • Firefox does not open pop-up windows from java script even if blocking pop-up is disabled for those sites

    I need to use pop-up windows for some e-mail sites which use java, but firefox doesn't do anything, even if i allowed pop-ups for those sites or disable completely

    If the settings in Firefox are correct then make sure that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) isn't blocking pop-ups, some have advanced features that include blocking pop-ups.
    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Turn off 'Allow and Remember' for plug-in

    I've started really liking that you can allow plug-ins for individual sites, because what that means for me is that I can open a new tab that contains a Video, and Adobe Flash _won't_ start immediately playing it (meaning that I have to hunt down the tab, if I've queued lots, and pause the video).
    I made the mistake, however, of clicking "Allow and Remember" for Facebook :-(
    I would _really_ like to have a list of the sites where I've told the plug-in to remember, so I can tell it to forget. Is this buried somewhere in a special page like 'about:plugins'?
    Thank you so much!

    Perfect, Ed, that hit the spot!
