Pop up dialogue boxes
How can I stop navigator and properties dialogue boxes popping up when I use Photoshop shape tools?
Which version of photoshop are you using?
In the most recent version cc 2014.2.2, you can uncheck Show on Shape Creation from the Properties panel fly-out menu.
You need to first draw out a Live Shape (i.e. Rectangle Tool) before you can see that option.

I keep getting a pop up dialogue box telling me the URL is not supported and that it can't connect to the server, even though I am able to surf the net
Are you using OS X Server here, or is this a connection with some other server? If this is OS X Server, what version is running?
Please post a screen shot of the dialog box, and an example of a URL that's failing. (You can use ⌘⬆4 (command shift 4) to activate the screen capture mechanism, and the camera icon here to upload the image. Please make sure you don't include any sensitive information in what you're uploading.) -
Getting pop-up dialogue boxes in MacMail...
Hello;
Just want to report this bug in 10.7...
When I open a composition window in MacMail, and I hover the cursor on the window the curor changes to the 'finger pointer' and I get pop-up dialog boxes from my Fidelity Widget displaying on the application window, the position of the cursor is relative to the position of the Fidelity Widget on the Dashboard window.... and WOW! it is happening as I type this message...when I move the cursor over to a region that is correlated to the where the Widget exists on the Dashboard window, these pop-ups appear... I am using destop 1 and the Dashboard sceen is a page on Mission Control... annoying....1.I open an email with a PDF attachment
2. I click on the document to preview it
3. At the top of the document preview window (within GMAIL/FIREFOX) I choose the print icon that pops up (The icon choices are "Open", a down arrow, google drive symbol, print symbol, download symbol. These all appear in the top center.
4. The document opens in a new tab in Firefox and the adobe print dialog box pops up.
5. I either choose "print" or "cancel"
6. A second dialog box pops up, repeat step 5
Note: This also happens if I change the applications option to open PDF's with Adobe Acrobat, instead of with Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox); the difference is that at step 4, the document opens in the Adobe Acrobat program. -
Can't access Apple's support page in FFox; getting a looped pop-up dialogue box.
Hi,
When I try to access Apple's support page, there's a 'Welcome back - do you have the same problem as last time?' dialogue box that I can't get past. No matter what I press (Yes or No), the page refreshes and the box comes back.
I have deleted my cache, and gone through every step I can with Apple support over the phone, but the issue still occurs.
What's the problem?This may help;

Open the History Manager '''<Control><Shift> H.'''
In the search bar, enter the name of the site.
Right click on one of the listings and select '''Forget About This Site.'''
This should remove all information, including any passwords / settings. -
I am trying to open up a pop up box that allows me to enter times and mileage for a work application. I am on my android phone. I have a friend at work that is able to do it on his phone but mine will not let me give me an error. his does not. I turned off the pop up blocked and nothing changes.
Does this apply?

Since upgrading to 10.10.3, I keep getting a dialogue box that asks me to choose an application or search the app store for some purportedly missing app to open whatever video is embedded on that page. I can just click "cancel" to skip through it, but it really slows me down and is annoyingly unnecessary since videos continue to play in a normal fashion when I click on them. I've tried uninstalling and trashing the components of Flash, but the dialogue boxes continue. And I've also tried downloading and installing the latest version of Flash to see if that was the problem, but no success. Anybody else experiencing this? Clearly this was introduced by the latest OS X software upgrade, because this did not occur before that.
I don't understand why I (not a power user) should have to go through this whole rigamarole since Apple is apparently the culprit in introducing this problem to my system, due to the upgrade to 10.10.3, but here it is:
Problem description:
Since upgrading to 10.10.3, I’m getting pop-up dialogue boxes on pages with embedded videos telling me that the app I need to view the video is missing and that I should search the MacApp store to find what I need (which is actually nothing at all). I have to click cancel to continue and the videos can be viewed as normally. This only started with the latest Mac version of OS X, and I blame the problem on Apple, which has apparently introduced some error into my system.

How to disable dialogue box asking for exchange user/psswd
Everytime a particular user sends me an email, just by clicking on that email or opening it, I get this annoying pop up dialogue box asking for name and password.
It looks like an exchange server thats connected to the users account and has nothing to do with my email account. I don't use exchange.
I have to hit cancel 3X and then it automatically prompts me every few seconds.Solved.
It was because the folder was from time machine backup that I just dragged and dropped to desktop. -
Create an association in the folder options control panel.. pop up dialogue
Installed on a win XP OS:
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1)
Oracle Database 10g Express Edition (Universal)
Oracle Database 10g Express Edition (Western European)
I keep getting this pop up dialogue box whenever I click go to Database Homepage.
"This program does not have a file attached with it to perform this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel."
I'm planning to learn Oracle and SQL*Plus so I'm not sure what version I need for basic usage. I only need the SQL command line and probably an application that can create database or tables easily.
Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you.Thank you for replying Hans,
I tried to type http://localhost:8080/apex into my browser, the result is:
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:8080.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
The SQL command line is working, but just going to the Database Home Page would result to that pop up dialogue box. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks. -
FIREFOX 4 - YAHOO 'YES OR NO' DIALOGUE BOX FAILURE
I logged on to Firefox to search for something. I got this gray pop-up dialogue box asking me to select Yahoo Tool bar functionality.
I declined on everything because I really hate Yahoo from a disastrous run in with it's instant messaging a year ago.
Firefox proceeded to load me up with the Yahoo toolbar anyway.SOLVED - Atleast for Now....
So I think I have found the solution to this problem...
I reinstalled windows 8.1...
Then did 2 things..
1: Disabled Skydrive from Group Policy Editor and selected Always save files to local drive.
2: Disabled Bing Search from local file search (Windows Key + C-> Settings->Search and Apps->Search)
Installed Firefox..
and Now I don't have the problem...
I am going to install java, Flash and Addons ..and check again if the same problem occurs again..
Will update what happens.. -
Why does nothing happen when I'm trying to perform an action/command through a pop-up dialogue box, such as sending a message on linkedin or attempting to pin on pinterest?
All future installs/updates of Muse (and most other Adobe apps) are through the Creative Cloud desktop app. Thus you do need to have it installed.
Are you on Windows or Mac? What OS version? -
Flash Player 10 (plugin) actionscript error pop-up dialogue
A few weeks ago Flash Player began Popping up dialogue boxes as i traversed the web.
Not looking for embedding flash content on sites i can't conclude what triggered these pop-ups.
They vary in what they say and are not always the same error message nor description. I was wondering if someone has seen these and has a "fix" or even a way to keep them from popping up as they are annoying.
I use this PC as a development system and have Adobe CS5 Web installed and use it...including Flash CS5 Professional and Flex Builder 4+.
Below is a typical pop-up that I am seeing:
Thanks in advance for suggestions.OK, specs, windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. 8gb ddr3 intel i5-460m 2.53ghz 1mb Ati 54
Internet explorer 8.0.7600.16385
Flash Player 10.1.102.64 [installed correctly]
my system has many browsers installed for testing ect...
Firefox 3.6.13
Chrome 8.0.552.237

Every time I open a pdf file which includes a javascript, a dialogue box pops up. I have a question why 'Do not show this message again' is not working even I checked on the checkbox. It should block the dialogue next time when I open the same pdf file but not working. What is the matter and how can I deal with it?
I am trying it on Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.2.1. Tried to fix Hex code, and also tried 'edit-preference-trust manager'. I focusing on Adobe registries but still couldn't fix the problem.

MS "Color Dialogue Box" popping up instead of "Adobe Color Picker" inside PSE 10.
For purposes of this question, I'm providing definitions of the terms herein used.
--Toolbox: The 2 columns of Tools on the left side of the Editor screen.
--Foreground Color & Background Color: The color filled squares at the bottom of the Toolbox.
--Color dialogue box: This is the pop-up that is labeled at the top with "Color". It shows 48 different color squares (6 rows by 8 columns); they are labeled "Basic colors:". Right below the "Basic colors:" array is another 16 empty squares (2 rows by 8 columns) to be filled with colors to be defined. There is a "Define Custom Colors>>" button when clicked opens up a color picker with HSB RGB stacked below the color field screen. See this link to the Microsoft "Color Dialogue Box", http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms646375(v=vs.85).aspx
--Adobe Color Picker: The interactive dialogue box with the color field screen to the left and the HSB RGB numbers stacked on the right side. See this link

The problem:
In PSE 10, when using the Eyedropper Tool or clicking on the Foreground Color or the Background Color, the Microsoft Microsoft "Color Dialogue Box" pops up instead of the "Adobe Color Picker" dialogue box. This started about a month ago. I use Windows 7.
Please help. I want the "Adobe Color Picker" to pop up (like it used to) inside PSE 10. How do I correct this problem?
Thank you.Edit>preferences>general and choose the Adobe Color picker from the menu there:
