Pop-Up Display GONE?!

You know when you click the ball on the mouse and a display pops up with anything you put on it, like weather, sticky notes, google toolbar... etc? Mine doesn't work anymore. Can't find it. Doesn't show up!!! Help please!

That is your Dashboard application. It was probably set to the center trackball in System Preferences > Mouse.
You can also launch it from your applications directory.

I have reached out  to this community as my Iphone display gone black and got the solution to keep home and power button pressed. It worked but I would like to know
    1. Why it went black and is there a permanent fix for this
2.Will the IOS gets automatically updated as I feel the IOS was 5 when I got the phone in 2012 december
    3.Do you suggest 7.1 for Iphone 4

    1. There is no way of knowing. These things happen.
    2. The iOS only gets updated when you want it to be.
    3. You should always update to the latest iOS your phone will support. Apple do not write the updates to make your experience worse.

  • Part of image display gone..

    Like this..
when i moving that window, image come back.
But when i trying to work, image display gone...
    How to fix it?

If you blur everything out it makes it impossible to see whether something you've done might be causing the issue.
If it truly is a system glitch, and not an accidental layer you've overlaid or something, you may need an updated display driver.  Visit the web site of the maker of your video card and download/install the latest display driver release for your OS and hardware.
Failing that, try going into Edit - Preferences - Performance, [Advanced Settings...] and changing the Drawing Mode.  Make sure to close and restart Photoshop after making a change there and before testing.
    Good luck.

O.k. Thanks for the clarification. I poked around in my TimeCapsule router's settings (TimeCapsule is an Apple Airport Extreme router with attached hard drive for wireless backup/storage). Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I can disable multicasting with the TimeCapsule. I can change the multicasting 'rate'. Settings are Low, Medium, High. It's currently set to Low.
I did a few web searches, and found an Apple.com article: <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3789?viewlocale=en_US> which explained how to disable Bonjour Service Advertisements. I believe this is the same thing as 'Multicasting'. The process is a modification of "/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist", and a restart of the Mac is required afterwards.
I'm a bit concerned that disabling multicasting will interfere with my AppleTVs and iTunes music sharing, but I may try it next time I'm up for a computer workout. This task will require editing of system preference files, could require multiple restarts, might interfere with my AppleTVs, could interfere with my iTunes file sharing, doesn't have a documented relationship to my problem.
This is way to difficult for something that should just work. Did you say you had read something about a relationship between this bonjour multicasting and smb connectivity? If it was online could you post the link?
I'm currently able to connect to the drive using NFS, but I have to manually configure that connection each time I reboot (can't get the 'Disk Utility' configured to do it automatically). While it's working with NFS, it's not my preferred connect method (for various reasons).

  • Display gone out

My Studio Display screen has gone black -- power light stays on steady. For a few days it would work fine for 30 mins., then go black, come back, then go black again intermittently. Now it's completely black. Any suggestions to fix?

  • Popping eMac display

recently my display has started making a static pop noise and goes black for a split second. Seems to happen intermittently maybe 3 or 4 times a day. One of my sticks of RAM reports some errors with Rember but still seems to run the OS fine. Anyone have any ideas?

thanks for the links. My issue doesn't occur at startup or around pressing the power button. I have swapped in known good RAM and done an archive and install (an unrelated (I hope) issue)

It's Sunday so I cannot contact a service agent today. I will wait and research the problem you linked and take it from there.

Please tell me how to display a pop-up window , without using Javascript code.'

  • Display gone crazy

I've got a HP2605dn and it works great up to today.  The display has gone crazy.  Is there a hard reset for the printer to resent it's memory?

Looks as if you've a graphics card and/or screen problem - I would lean more towards the GPU.
You should take the machine into your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them evaluate the problem. This diagnosis should be free as should an estimate for repair (if you're not still under warranty).

  • Disable Link Pop Up Display

Is there a way to turn off the feature on iWeb pages that displays the link info when rolling over and landing on any button or link on a page? When ever you land on a link or button, a little yellow window pops up along with the pointer that displays the URL of where the link/button is pointing to. It's quite annoying, especially since no other websites that I can see do that.

To turn off the tool tips follow Cyclosaurus' instructions in this topic: <a href="<a href="http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7050854#7050854" title="in response to: Cyclosaurus">http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7050854#7050854" target="_blank">removing rollover html detail box

  • Hover-over play/pause/FF pop-up controls gone

I'm on Windows 7. It used to be that I'd hover over the Spotify tab on the task bar and get a pop-up control menu that would give me the option of pausing a song or skipping or going back a track. Now I noticed it's gone. Is this a bug or was it permamently removed? This was such a great UI feature. Why the heck would it be removed? I don't understand why something would be removed that made Spotify easier to use. Now I have to go through extra steps to pause or play a track. It's been numerous times I've seen this happen with Spotify where you guys will remove something simple such as ability to search for a track, and then it's gone for months. Why do you do this to me??!! Please bring back the hover-over controls on the taskbar! And while you're at it, please allow the song to scroll once again on the taskbar. It used to do that, so I could see the artist and full song name while I was working on something else and not have to click over to Spotify to see the whole artist/title. Come on guys, these little things are simple but make the program so much more user-friendly. Put them back in!

ok so just after I posted the above message, on my way home and it magically starts to work again.

  • Display gone irremediably all white (or gray)!

Suddenly my display has gone all white (or light gray). I have tried reseting the PRAM, NVRAM, startup with R key. At startup, my 1Ghz PowerBook will show an all light gray/white LCD, flicker once after 10 secondes and remain light gray or white. The brightness adjustment still works and so does the external video connection (DVI). If I startup the PowerBook lid open with an external display, I can see that Mac OS X has detected my LCD as I can "see" and place it in the Display preferences.
Could it be that the LCD inverter board failed?
Thanks for any help on the failure (other than returning it to Apple as it is out of warranty and I'm not ready to shell USD800 or so to replace the entire LCD).

I have something similar happening. I found that it starts by flickering and then after a minute or two, the whole screen goes white. Sometimes I can fix it by moving the screen to a new position, but quite often I have to put it to sleep and wake it up. That doesn't always work either.
I took it in for repair. They took it apart and put it together, and then couldn't reproduce it. Well, its been almost 2 weeks and the flickering started reappearing. The repair guy said that if it comes back, the only thing they could think to do was replace the LCD.
