Pop-up images...possible?

I've been scouring this message board for a while now and still haven't figured out how to create pop-up images.  It appears that it may be possible, but I couldn't figure out how.
Is it possible to create a button that will pop-up an image when pressed?  I know that you can use the messageBox method to create a popup message, but is there any way to creat a popup that only shows a graphic?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

  • Pop-up images appear as thumbnails

Today while accessing the help from my hard-drive, I noticed that when I clicked on a link to open a pop-up image it appeared as a thumbnail.
The pop-up is supposed to appear as a full-sized image, and not a thumbnail.
When generating the layout, in the multiscreen HTML5 properties, under screen profiles - desktop - optimization, I have Convert absolute image size to relative image size selected.
When this option is cleared, the pop-up image opens normally.
However, I would prefer to keep this option selected so that large images are converted to relative image size, and fit on the page.
What is weird to me, is that when accessing the latest version of the help online through my company's system both pop-up images open normally, and absolute images are converted to relative size so possibly some other setting is causing my pop-up images to become thumbnails?
    Suggestions are welcome,
    Yehoshua

Interesting. This is a consequence of the optimization setting. What method are you using for the popups? If you’re using autosize popups, try converting one or two to fixed size popups to see whether that helps.

  • Rebuilding Thumbnail Images - Possible?

Is it possible to rebuild the thumbnail images within a library? It does not appear to happen during a complete library rebuild.
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
I rebuilt my library the other day just to see how well it restored my 20,000 images. Your right, it doesn't appear to rebuild the thumbs unless you view the project and scroll down. It will then cache the thumbs. I ended up making the thumbnail view as small as possible so it would cache those thumbs on the screen, then I would scroll dowm again so it would cache the next lot etc. It was a time consuming task. Still they are all now cached. BTW, I didn't loose a single image. It worked really well.

  • Menu background image possible on default theme of...

Just wondering is it possible to enable or put a image background on MENUS in nokia 5800 xpressmusic phone's default theme, as i have seen in many custom themes??

The background is all determined by the theme, so in order to put a background in all screens you need to create a theme. You can do this using Carbide UI from forum.nokia.com, but this requires detailed knowledge of the phone software to use effectively. There are similar theme creators at websites like www.zedge.net, but there is a very real chance that they might not be up to date with the 5800's OS yet.

  • Reverse image search on Google Image possible from iPad/iPhone?

With iOS 6, we can now upload photos from iPhone/iPad to tineye.com, to do a reverse image search. I can't get it to work, though, for a reverse image search on Google Image (which I think is more comprehensive than tineye). Is it possible?

Thanks but I don't know what a "reverse image search" is let alone have any interest in doing one. And, I would hope that, after a year the OP has resolved their issue.

  • How to create a pop up image button?

I want to know how to create a button, for when it is selected, an image pops up right next to it. Is there any way to do this? If so, how? Thanks for any help!

Select the thumbnail image and link it to the larger image file.
Use DW Behaviors Panel and hit the plus + sign.
Choose Open Browser Window.  This will invoke another panel for adjusting the size and other attributes of your pop-up window.
    Hit OK.

    hi all,
obviously doing something daft, but cant seem to figure out
    how to make an image
link to a bigger version in a pop up window????
just the standard issue thumbnail image on a site page, to
open in a bigger pop up box in the centre of the screen.....
i've looked at the behaviours way, but that seems to only

I am a newbie to DW 8, and the last person to be giving
advice - others will do a better job - but, I had the same problem
and I solved it by adding this:
    JustSo PictureWindow
    http://www.valleywebdesigns.com/vwd_jspw3.asp
It allows me to open a new image page by having the viewer
click on the thumbnail. I set the program to open the new image in
a blank, black background (full page) and if you click on that
image it will close the image and return to the thumbnail. It is
only $12 and worth every penny to me.
The trick to using it is to install it and then learn to
click on the little “a” on the bottom of the page
(thumbnail images) – and then to choose JustSo Picture under
Behaviors (use the + sign). Also have the full-sized image (jpeg)
redy to open as a link.
    I chose the Toggle-fullscreen – and a black background.
To see it work, go to my webpage and choose My Photos -
Photos of Egypt. There is a page of thumbnails that you can try.
    http://www.naturephotostudio.com
It is the only part of DW 8 that I understand so far –
and I have a ton of work to do yet.
But, JustSo Picture Window is my favorite tool at this point.
Good luck – we can learn together.

  • What's going on with my pop-out image gallery???

I’m working with a group of undergraduate students to turn our department’s alumni newsletter into an interactive PDF magazine that will include pop-out galleries. We are using InDesign 5.
Unfortunately, while the test gallery I created works beautifully on my MacBook Pro and on a Dell belonging to a student, it does not work on another student’s Mac, on an iPad, or an iPod Touch. In fact, on those last three examples, not only do the larger images not appear, but also the thumbnails themselves disappear.
Could this be a problem associated with out-of-date versions of Acrobat Reader? Do you have any idea why this is happening and what we might be able to do to correct it?
We specifically avoided creating a SWF gallery because we wanted iPad users to be able to view our images, so we're sort of at a loss as to how to proceed. Thanks for any help any of you can provide!
    PLEASE!!!! Any suggestions at all???

Probably need to upload your Generated Items folder.
A link to the offending page may allow for a more definite answer.

  • Full resolution images possible?

I am uploading some of my files from photoshop, and PNG files are rather crappy. Is there a way to pevent iWeb from converting them to PNG files and leave them as psd or jpg files? Also, I want to keep full resolution, I thought that was the point of iWeb when they first released it.
Thanks in advance for any help
    Mac Mini PowerPC G4 1.5GHz 1GB Ram iLife 06   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Hello, pcConvert. There are a couple of things you maybe need to understand about how any web program (not just iweb) works. This is very different from working towards printing an image, so it confuses a lot of people.
    1. No web browser understands psd files. JPEG, GIF, PNG are the best graphics formats for web display, because most browsers understand them (although older versions of IE are notorious for PNG-illiteracy).
    2. The kind of resolution you seem to be talking about (higher ppi= better print) doesn't exist on the internet. Computer monitors only understand pixel dimensions. A photo that is 900 pixels wide will display exactly the same whether it's saved at 300 ppi, 1000 ppi, or 2 ppi. That setting just doesn't apply for onscreen display.
iWeb resizes your photos to 800 pixels (or less) on the long dimension, because that's about as large as you can go and expect the entire image to fit on most monitors without a lot of scrolling. As JIm McCormaic said, you can include a full sized version for downloading, if you want. A regular graphics program like Photoshop can resize for more viewing options than a web browser can give you.
Current versions of iweb don't normally convert JPGs to PNG files, unless the image uses transparency, which the JPEG format can't use (in any program, not just iweb).

  • Web gallery with links to hires images - possible?

    Hi all,
I would like to use a web gallery to "deliver" hires images to clients, meaning that I want to have a preview page with thumnail images that should link to hires jpeg or even tif images for download. I found, however, that Aperture web galleries seem to be limited to maximum 1200x1200 jpegs for the detail page.
I know that there are ways to customize web galleries so I thought there might be a solution for this anyway? Like putting in a link to the hires image in the detail page?
    Any hints appreciated
    Alexandra

I made a good step forward regarding this type of customized template: I found that the image size restrictions can be changed in the "albuminfo.plist" file, and I can also edit the link on the gallery page that points to the detail page.
But: Both gallery page and detail page use the same tag to refer to the image they are displaying: "ThumbImageURL" which seems to be interpreted differently in different contexts: In the gallery page it refers to the thumbnail (as expected) and in the detail page it refers to the larger image. This seems to indicate that there might be something like LargeImageURL"...
Is there any kind of documentation to the tags used for web galleries in Aperture?

  • Making pop-up image always appear within browser window

In my CS3 CSS site I want to have images which are only revealed when the user runs their mouse over a photo icon. I've worked out how to make the AP div, which contains the show-hide image, appear in the same position relative to the left margin of my text container div but can't seem to control where they are vertically. As they are absolutely positioned, I know that they will, in theory, always remain in the place where I have positioned them (although this appears to vary greatly from browser to browser) but this causes problems if, for example, I place them above the icon and the viewer happens to rollover the icon while it is near the top of their browser window - the photo can't be seen. Can I make the image's vertical position relative to the browser window, whatever its size, or make sure it always appears within the browser window?! I've tried setting margin top and bottom to auto but that doesn't seem to work in the same way that it does for margin right and left. An example is on this page http://www.ernestcooktrust.org.uk/Contact_biogs/biogs_trustees.html . At the moment the images are set to appear above the icon of the person they are referring to. Or is there a better way then show/hide AP divs to achieve this? Many thanks in advance for any (not too technical please) help.

  • Pop-ups and possible virus?

I'm using a MacBook Air purchased approximately 6 months ago.
I just downloaded version 7.1.2 for safari tonight while trying to fix the problem.
I watch movies and tv shows a lot that require new flash player installations and I believe this has to do with it.
I think I downloaded a faulty install and now I have lots of pop-ups and I can't click anything on any website without an additional tab with a weird website or something pulling up.
    My internet is slower now.
It changed my homepage on both browsers to "trovi" whatever that is.
I deleted all of the downloads I found that I thought might have caused the problem, but it didn't fix anything.
I manually changed my homepage back to google, but the pop-ups continue to happen when I visit any website.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "Trovi," "Conduit," or "SearchProtect" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove these files in the same way:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/searchplugins/MyBrand.xml
    ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/External Extensions/fjadmdmahkpbhgbmmkiiaanlnlekelmn.json
    ~/Library/Application Support/Mozilla/Extensions/{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}/[email protected]
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
"SearchProtect" may be distributed along with two other applications: "MacKeeper," which is a scam, and "ZipCloud," which, if not actually a scam, has a dubious reputation. Ask if you need instructions to remove those items.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
    if it's not already checked.
